GOP Sen. Jim Justice Agrees to Pay More Than $5.1M in Back Taxes to Settle DOJ, IRS Claim

. . .Sen. Jim Justice (R-WV), whose pet English bulldog Babydog has been a DC darling since he took office in January, has agreed to pay more than $5 million to settle a tax debt dating to 2009.

The Justice Department filed a complaint in Beckley, WV, federal court Monday claiming that Justice and his wife Cathy owed $5,164,739.75 in “federal income taxes, penalties, and interest” as of Aug. 4.

The complaint claimed that the Justices had “have neglected or refused to make full payment,” despite being given notice by the Treasury Department.

Later Monday, the DOJ and the Justices filed a joint motion agreeing to pay the outstanding amount.

Justice, who served as West Virginia governor from 2017 until his election to the Senate last year, inherited a coal mining and agriculture business from his father and at one point was a billionaire. Ukraine Agrees to US-Backed Peace Deal to End Russia War, US Official Says

Ukraine has agreed to a peace deal that would see an end to the war with Russia, a U.S. official told Fox News.

Some minor details of the agreement are still to be sorted out, the official said.

Lt. Col. Jeff Tolbert, a spokesman for U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, had told Fox News that Driscoll and his team met with Russian officials in Abu Dhabi on Monday and Tuesday to discuss the framework for a Ukraine peace deal.

“The talks are going well and we remain optimistic. Secretary Driscoll is closely synchronized with the White House and the U.S. interagency as these talks progress,” said Tolbert.

A U.S. official told Fox News that the Ukrainian delegation was also in Abu Dhabi and was in contact with Driscoll and his team.

Most Americans Give Trump Poor Marks on the Economy, New Poll Shows

A large majority of Americans are dissatisfied with President Donald Trump’s handling of the economy, according to a new CBS News/YouGov poll released Sunday. The survey found widespread concern over inflation, rising prices, and how the administration is spending its time addressing the issue.

Low Approval on Economic Leadership

Only 36% of U.S. adults approve of Trump’s approach to managing the economy, while 64% disapprove, the poll shows. When asked whether the president is dedicating enough time to dealing with inflation and economic challenges:

77% said he is not spending enough time
18% said the time spent is adequate
5% said he is spending too much time

The public also sees Trump’s policies as a contributing factor to price increases. Sixty-five percent of respondents believe the administration’s policies are causing grocery prices to rise, while just 14% said they believe Trump’s agenda is driving prices down.

Americans Still Feeling the Pinch

While the administration has touted improving economic numbers, most Americans say they aren’t seeing relief in their day-to-day expenses. When asked about price direction in recent weeks:

58% said prices are still rising
31% said prices are holding steady
11% believed prices are falling

Only 32% of Americans described the current economy as “good,” highlighting just how tough public opinion remains.

White House Defends the Record

Despite the negative polling, the administration insists progress is happening. In a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation, White House spokesman Kush Desai said Trump is committed to reversing the economic problems of the previous administration:

“Putting Joe Biden’s economic disaster behind us has been the top priority for President Trump since Day One… Americans can rest assured that President Trump is focused on ensuring that the best is yet to come.”

Trump has also pointed to falling prices in certain categories. At a Nov. 17 speech at the McDonald’s Impact Summit, the president claimed:

Breakfast prices have fallen 14%

Bread and dairy prices are down

Egg prices have dropped 86% since March

He argued that the current administration inherited an affordability crisis and is now “ending it.”

Chances Are, Your Next Rabbi Is Probably Gay, Study Shows

Over half of non-Ultra-Orthodox rabbinical students in the U.S. identify as LGBTQ+, according to a new study.

Approximately 51% of current non-Haredi rabbinical students projected to be ordained after 2025 claim they are LGBTQ+, the study conducted by Atra: Center for Rabbinic Innovation found. This is a sharp incline from the 7% of ordained non-Haredi rabbis who identified as such before 2004. The study claims to provide a clear portrait of the contemporary non-Haredi, or non–Ultra-Orthodox, rabbinic pipeline in the U.S.

“The student figure may be an overestimate since weighing cannot fully correct for discrepancies without a variable directly measuring LGBTQ+ identity. However, even if it is somewhat overstated, the consistent year-over-year increase in LGBTQ+ representation is almost certainly real,” the Atra wrote, noting Gallup poll data finding an increase in the general U.S. adult population.

Atra said that its study revealed “a delicate and urgent truth: the calling to be a rabbi remains strong, but the pathway to enter and sustain this work has become increasingly fragile.”

Hannah Karpel-Pomerantz met her wife at rabbinical school and grew close due to a shared interest in Jewish texts and rituals, The Times of Israel reported. She said Hebrew Union College shared their “love story” all over their website.

It’s High Time Liberal Judges Are Held Accountable for Failing to Lock Up Violent Career Criminals

By New York Post. Liberal judges who decide not to jail violent career criminals and sadistic psychopaths ought to be held liable when the felons attack innocent citizens.

Two horrendous, unprovoked attacks on helpless young women on public transit in recent weeks would never have happened if the legal system had done what it’s designed to do.

Instead, BLM-inspired reparatory justice has endangered the most vulnerable among us — women, children, the elderly and disabled. We pay police and judges to keep evil and dangerous predators away from weak and defenseless innocents. Yet radical Democrats who have taken over blue cities are hellbent on a destructive ideological crusade to defund the police, close the jails and install obedient judges who side with the perpetrator over the victim.

And yet, law-abiding citizens who dare to try to defend themselves — or gallantly protect others, as in the case of Good Samaritan Daniel Penny — are the ones arrested, prosecuted and even sent to jail. Queens senior citizen Charles Foehner has just been sentenced to four years in jail for gun offenses after shooting dead his mugger.

Two cases in the last three months illustrate the moral inversion of law and order Democrats have instituted under the cover of COVID and the anti-cop George Floyd protests of 2020. Bethany MaGee, 26, identified as Chicago victim set on fire on CTA train by serial thug with 72 arrests

By New York Post. The 26-year-old woman who cops said was set on fire by a lunatic with a lengthy rap sheet on a Chicago L train earlier this month has been identified as Bethany MaGee.

“It is devastating that a career criminal with 72 PRIOR ARRESTS is now accused of attacking 26-year-old Bethany MaGee on Chicago’s L train, and setting her on fire,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said on social media Sunday.

“This would never have happened if this thug had been behind bars. Yet Chicago lets repeat offenders roam the streets,” Duffy said of suspect Lawrence Reed, 50, who is facing federal terrorism charges in connection with the senseless fire attack.

“Chicago’s carelessness is putting the American people at risk. No one should ever have to fear for their life on the subway,” Duffy said, lambasting the Windy City’s soft-on-crime policies that let a dangerous convicted felon roam free.

Foreign ‘Patriots’ Caught Red-Handed as Musk’s X Unveils Hidden Account Locations

A new feature on Elon Musk’s X is exposing the truth behind social media accounts across the political spectrum, with account owners apparently misleading followers about where they are posting from.

The new feature allows all X users to inspect where a given account is based, usually listing a country or region. Many popular accounts posing as American “patriots” or “constitutionalists” have been exposed as being run from foreign countries since the update rolled out on Friday.

One account with the handle “@1776General_” boasts over 140,000 followers and has a user biography describing the owner as a “constitutionalist, patriot and ethnically American.” The biography claims the account is based in the U.S., but X’s new feature reveals it is actually based in Turkey.

“I work in international business. I’m currently working in Turkey on a contract,” the owner of the account posted after the new feature was released.

Another account, “@AmericanVoice__” had over 200,000 followers before the update rolled out. The new feature exposed that it was being run from South Asia, and the owners simply deleted the account. Watch As Democratic Congressional Candidate Sobs Like Toddler After Being Thrown Out Of Governor’s Office

Democratic Tennessee congressional candidate Aftyn Behn sobbed and screamed at the top of her lungs as security removed her from Republican Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee’s office in resurfaced footage from April 2019.

Behn and other women with the activist group, Enough is Enough-Tennessee, staged a sit-in inside the state capitol and demanded to speak to Lee about calling for the resignation of the then-Republican state Rep. David Byrd, who was accused of sexual misconduct at the time. The women, including Behn, tried to rush into the governor’s office when the doors were open on April 17, 2019, prompting security to remove her from the premises.

Footage posted by NewsChannel 5 Nashville shows security dragging Behn out of the office as she screamed at the top of her lungs. She then sat on her knees and sobbed on the floor.

Bishops Vote To Prohibit Trans Surgeries And Hormone Treatment In Catholic Hospitals

U.S. Catholic bishops voted to prohibit transgender surgeries and the use of cross-sex hormones in Catholic hospitals, in a show of solidarity with Catholic physicians and medical groups who have advocated for an end to the procedures for more than a decade.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) met Nov. 11-13 in Baltimore, Maryland, for their biannual plenary assembly, in which bishops, individuals, and organizations determine and discuss church policy. On Nov. 12, bishops overwhelmingly voted to approve updates to the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services (ERDs), including the prohibition of transgender surgical and hormonal manipulation.

The vote is significant, as more than one in seven patients are served in Catholic hospitals daily. Catholic health facilities serve patients in all 50 states, overseeing more than 600 hospitals and 1600 other health care facilities.

The Catholic Medical Association (CMA) has raised concerns over the dangers of transgender interventions for at least 20 years, with significantly increased attention over the past decade, said Dr. Tim Millea, CMA health care policy chairman.

In a 2016 publication, the CMA highlighted research conducted by Dr. Michelle Cretella, a CMA member and president of the American College of Pediatricians, who had specialized in adolescent mental and sexual health for years and witnessed the damage done by physicians experimenting on gender-confused youth. At the time, Cretella was supporting parent groups fighting for female- or male-only bathrooms and locker rooms in schools. New Study Suggests Everyone Was Wrong About Where the Moon Came From

. . .As the story goes, 4.5 billion years ago, the moon was born as a result of a giant Mars-sized object named Theia crashing into Earth.

This collision was responsible for more than just creating the moon — it also affected the shape, mass and composition of the Earth.

However, new research from the journal Science and the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research (MPS) suggests that this historic collision might not have been as accidental as it seems.

Scientists are reportedly just finding out that influential Theia might have been formed in the solar system right alongside Earth, meaning these two were once upon a time neighbors.

“The most convincing scenario is that most of the building blocks of Earth and Theia originated in the inner Solar System,” said Timo Hopp, a geoscientist and Lab Manager with the MPS and the Department of Geophysical Sciences at the University of Chicago, according to Universe Today. Former Zelensky Spox: Ukraine Must Sign Peace Deal To Avoid Even Greater Losses

Things are very bad in Ukraine right now. The former spokeswoman for Ukraine’s clearly overmatched comedian leader says things could get a lot worse if Ukraine’s government walks away from peace this time.

“Every subsequent deal for Ukraine will only be worse — because we are losing. We are losing people, territory, and the economy,” Iuliia Mendel, press secretary for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky from 2019 to 2021, wrote in an X post this weekend as negotiators went back and forth in marathon peace talks.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday told multiple news outlets that he was pleased with the “tremendous amount of progress” toward finalizing a U.S.-brokered peace deal to end the Russia-Ukraine war, but more needed to be done to get there.

As the Trump-hating BBC reported, Ukraine and its friends in Europe weren’t happy with previously leaked proposals, “seen as favouring Russia and welcomed by [Russian President] Vladimir Putin as ‘the basis’ for settlement.” Zelensky earlier said his bomb-battered country and his fellow citizens “might face a very difficult choice: either losing dignity, or risk losing a key partner” — President Donald Trump.

The Washington Post reported the leaked draft would force Ukraine to reduce its army and turn over land that Russia has not taken. That proposal also would prohibit NATO troops.
