Health Officials Think They’ve Tracked Down Source of Cruise Ship Hantavirus Outbreak

Two MV Hondius passengers who died from hantavirus likely contracted the deadline infection while bird-watching in Argentina, investigators believe – then brought it on board the now-stranded cruise ship.

Argentine officials say a Dutch couple that succumbed to the virus last month picked it up from rodents while visiting a landfill during a bird-watching tour in the city of Ushuaia in mid-March, they told the Associated Press Wednesday.

However, there’s one big hole in the theory. Authorities previously said that the area and the surrounding province of Tierra del Fuego had never recorded a case of the hantavirus.

The passengers then boarded the MV Hondius, which departed on its 35-day-long expedition trip from the Argentine port on March 20.

Hantavirus is usually transmitted by inhaling the virus from infected feces or urine from mice or rats.

The 70-year-old Dutchman reportedly began feeling sick on April 6, with a fever, headache, abdominal pain and diarrhea. (Read more from “Health Officials Think They’ve Tracked Down Source of Cruise Ship Hantavirus Outbreak” HERE)

Judge Apologizes to Alleged WHCD Attacker for Treatment in Jail

A judge issued an apology to Cole Tomas Allen, the alleged White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner attacker, for how he has been treated while being held in jail.

During a hearing on Monday, U.S. Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui expressed his apologies to Allen, who has been “held in the safe cell,” according to ABC7 News. Faruqui reportedly said the safe cell was “tantamount to solitary confinement.”

The judge also gave the Washington, DC, Department of Corrections a deadline of Tuesday “to notify when the jail’s housing board will” make a decision regarding “which section of the jail” Allen will be placed in, according to the outlet.

Faruqui’s apology to Allen comes after Allen’s attorneys said in court filings that Allen “was placed on suicide watch shortly after arriving at the D.C. jail.”

Due to Allen being placed on suicide watch, he was put in “what’s known as a ‘safe cell,’ a padded room with constant lighting and 24-hour lockdown conditions,” according to the outlet. Allen’s attorneys claimed that he showed “no signs of being a risk.” (Read more from “Judge Apologizes to Alleged WHCD Attacker for Treatment in Jail” HERE)

Tucker Carlson Reveals Main Issue He Feels Is On Young Voter’s Minds. It’s Not What You Think.

During an interview published Saturday, Tucker Carlson told the New York Times he believes the most important issue impacting young Americans in the long term is access to economic opportunity.

In response to the NYT’s question about how he thinks controversial 27-year-old podcaster Nick Fuentes fits into the future of the American right, Carlson responded it is “so hard to know” adding that most “of the debates about race, ethnicity, religion, to some extent immigration, are less resonant long-term than debates about economics.”

“I think the main frustration among young people is not just that the composition of the country is changing too fast, which it definitely is,” the Daily Caller News Foundation co-founder said. “But the main concerns are about the lack of economic opportunity for American young people, who are totally screwed at a more profound level than people acknowledge. Older people do not acknowledge that.”

Carlson also told the NYT’s Lulu Garcia-Navarro that he had recently had dinner with “a bunch of really smart kids from Stanford.”

“And one of them said that his best friend just graduated with a degree in computer science last year and has not been able to find a job,” he recounted. “So that’s a window into the total destruction of the economic opportunity for young people, and what looks to me as a non-economist like the true hoarding of capital by a tiny group of people.” (Read more from “Tucker Carlson Reveals Main Issue He Feels Is On Young Voter’s Minds. Video Shows United Flight Strike Truck on Turnpike before Landing at Newark Liberty Airport

An investigation is underway after a United Airlines plane struck a light pole and a truck on the New Jersey Turnpike as it was coming in for a landing at Newark Liberty International Airport on Sunday afternoon, officials said.

Dash cam footage from the truck shows the moment it is struck by Flight UA169, a Boeing 767 that originated in Venice, Italy, with 221 passengers and 10 crew members on board. . .

New Jersey State Police said a preliminary investigation indicated a tire from the plane’s landing gear and “the underside of the plane” hit both the pole and the tractor-trailer. The pole also struck a Jeep traveling on the turnpike, state police said.

The truck was traveling to Smith’s Bakery depot in Newark and was about to exit the turnpike when it was hit, according to Chuck Paterakis, senior vice president of transportation and logistics and co-principal at Baltimore-based H&S Bakery. One of the plane’s landing gear tires went through the truck’s window and windshield, Paterakis told CBS Baltimore.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, identified by Paterakis as Warren Boardley, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and was later released, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said. Paterakis said he was treated for injuries resulting from glass in his arm and hand. Priest Says Hospital Asked Him To Consider Assisted Suicide Twice After Broken Hip

A Catholic priest said that while seeking treatment for a hip injury at a Canadian hospital, medical workers twice offered him the option of assisted suicide, despite knowing that he was religiously and morally opposed to the practice.

Fr. Larry Holland, 79, fractured his hip after falling in his bathroom on Christmas Day 2025 and subsequently went to Vancouver General Hospital to seek treatment for his injury, The B.C. Catholic, the official media outlet of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver, first reported. However, despite the priest’s assertion that his condition is not and never was fatal, he says a doctor had raised the possibility of him taking his own life through Canada’s taxpayer-funded and government-run Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program in the event his injury worsened.

“I think I was very shocked. It is such a sensitive subject,” Holland told The B.C. Catholic about being given the option of MAiD, in an interview published Tuesday. “There are some things you just don’t talk about to some people.”

The priest told the outlet that the doctor said to him that MAiD is “something they have to discuss with someone who’s been given a terminal diagnosis.” Holland had at the time known made his moral opposition to euthanasia — which Catholic doctrine explicitly forbids.

After weeks passed, a nurse would also offer MAiD to Holland, he told The B.C. Catholic, adding that the nurse’s offer appeared to come out of a sense of “false compassion.” (Read more from “Priest Says Hospital Asked Him To Consider Assisted Suicide Twice After Broken Hip” HERE)

Inside Jordan Peterson’s ‘Brutally Painful’ Illness as His Wife Reveals He’s Suffering Serious Side Effects from Benzo Withdrawal

Tammy Peterson says her husband, author and podcast superstar Dr. Jordan Peterson, is suffering a “neurological injury,” which has taken him out of the spotlight.

The clinical psychologist and young man whisperer stepped away from recording his popular YouTube show and podcast recently, prompting questions from fans.

His family told The Post he is primarily suffering from a “neurological injury,” from previously taking psychiatric medications.

“Dr. Peterson is at home with family and helpful companions,” Tammy reported. “His mornings are brutally painful and discouraging for him. Later, much later in the day, he sometimes feels some relief.”

Peterson had been taking the benzodiazepine Klonopin when his wife, Tammy, was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2019. Getting off the medication caused nightmarish withdrawal symptoms. Fears of Mysterious Beast Spread in Ohio after Locals Record Eerie Howls, Enormous Footprints: ‘I know what I saw’

. . .Ohioans are battening down the hatches as locals fear a not-so-friendly neighborhood Sasquatch is making a comeback after a half-century of silence — with a new brood in tow.

Northeast Ohio, the gloomiest corner of the Buckeye State, has been ripe with Bigfoot sightings since March. Some residents suspect a whole family of Sasquatches is moving into the region after a particularly brutal winter, Fox 8 reported.

Many anonymous witnesses shared pictures of hulking footprints scattered primarily between Akron and Youngstown in Portage County. Most of the prints are an estimated 17 inches in length—which can only match a creature that is at least 7-feet tall or more.

Believers who were brave enough to take their findings to the media described a creature between 6 and 10 feet tall completely covered in dark fur, the outlet reported.

Mike Miller, the co-founder of the Ohio Nightstalkers Bigfoot Research Group, is leading the charge on the ground.

This isn’t his first rodeo as the emergent expert on all things Sasquatch in Ohio, which ranks fourth in the nation for purported Bigfoot sightings. The last Bigfoot flap, or mass reports of sightings in one area, was in 1978, the outlet reported. Here’s the Background on the Two American Soldiers Who Went Missing Over the Weekend

Two American service members went missing over the weekend while participating in a joint military exercise with partner nations in North Africa. Search and rescue efforts are still underway.

CBS has reported that the two soldiers were off-duty and had decided to go on a hike to observe the sunset when one fell off of a cliff and into the water below. A number of soldiers then attempted to form a human chain to rescue their comrade in the water, but failed to pull them up. The second soldier then jumped into the water for a rescue attempt, but failed. A third soldier also attempted a rescue, but returned to shore after likewise failing.

US Destroys Six Iranian Ships In Straight Of Hormuz During ‘Project Freedom’

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) head Adm. Brad Cooper told reporters on Monday that the United States destroyed six Iranian boats that were threatening commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

President Donald Trump launched “Project Freedom” on Sunday, an effort by the U.S. Navy to help guide commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz. On a press call with reporters, Cooper said the U.S. returned fire and destroyed Iranian forces who emerged to threaten the commercial ships.

“We have defeated each and every one of those threats,” Cooper told reporters.

“We defended this, both ourselves and consistent with our commitment, we defended all the commercial ships,” Cooper added. “We had drone launches against commercial ships, all of which were defended against consistent with our commitment, and then the small boats were all going against commercial ships, and all were sunk by Apaches and [inaudible] helicopters.”

Cooper told the Daily Caller that the U.S. has cleared an “effective pathway” through the strait. Two U.S. ships have passed through the strait in the last 24 hours. Following the exchange of fire, Cooper declined to speak about whether the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran was now over.

Trump’s New Surgeon General Pick Sparks Backlash, Splits MAHA Movement

President Donald Trump’s new nominee for surgeon general is exposing divisions in the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement, the health-focused coalition elevated inside the administration by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“The new surgeon general nominee, Dr. Nicole Saphier, may have a great pro-life testimony, but she gets an F when it comes to all things MAHA,” said Turning Point USA health and wellness podcaster Alex Clark — a comment shared by other MAHA activists like Kelly Ryerson, an anti-pesticide advocate also known online as “Glyphosate Girl.”

“DOGE the Surgeon General!!! We want medical freedom!!!! If not Casey – we take no one!” added Vani Hari, also known online as “Feed Babe” and a prominent figure inside the MAHA movement.

She recently told The Atlantic that failing to confirm Means would “ruin the soul of MAHA.”

After Trump’s initial pick for surgeon general, Dr. Janette Nesheiwat, was withdrawn in 2025, Trump selected Casey Means, a Stanford-trained physician, wellness author and entrepreneur, and vocal MAHA proponent who was close to Kennedy as he helped develop the Trump administration’s health agenda.
