“Tran” Teacher Who Received Top Ten Amazon Award Charged with Raping Child

A New Hampshire teacher who had been named an Amazon “teacher of the year” was charged with raping a child who was 14 years old at the time.

Tymond Tran, 38, of Hudson was arraigned on Wednesday for various charges related to the heinous allegations, according to the Essex District Attorney’s Office.

Tran was an eighth-grade teacher at Thurgood Marshall Middle School in Lynn during the 2022-2023 school year when he allegedly raped the student. . .

The student’s allegations led to Tran being indicted by a grand jury on July 15 on charges that included aggravated rape of a child, posing or exhibiting a child in the nude, and providing obscene matter to a minor.

Tran had been honored by Amazon for promoting “diversity and inclusion” and named a “Future Engineer Teacher of the Year” in 2022. Iran summoned a Ukrainian diplomat in Tehran on Sunday to protest an attack on an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea, as the war in the Middle East threatened to overlap with the Ukraine conflict.

Iran said the attack left one sailor dead and injured several others. The country’s foreign ministry complained to Ukraine’s chargé d’affaires in Tehran early on Sunday and “conveyed Iran’s strong protest over the ‘hostile and criminal act.’” Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency reported.

In a post on X highlighting Ukraine’s attacks on distant Russian targets, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Saturday that his country’s forces “also achieved very strong results with long‑range strikes in the Caspian Sea – including vessels used in military cargo shipments involving Iran, as well as a warship.”

Russia has long used Iranian-designed Shahed drones in its war on Ukraine, a weapon that analysts sometimes refer to as “the poor man’s cruise missile.”

But the latest attacks by Ukraine, combined with Saudi military strikes on Iran-backed Houthi targets in Yemen following the rebel group’s attacks on Red Sea shipping in recent days, represent a widening of the Middle East conflict. Taxpayer-Funded Trans Dolls with Removable Genitalia to hit Classrooms this Fall for Kids as Young as 4 to ‘Learn about Different Options’

. . .“First-of-their-kind” transgender dolls — complete with removable genitalia — will debut in some Minnesota classrooms this fall to kids as young as 4 years old.

The paper dolls, with gender-neutral names like “Sam,” “Rory,” “Avery” and “Parker,” have removable internal and external genitals, along with more than 100 interchangeable pieces of clothing, accessories and hairstyles — like a trans Mr./Mrs. Potato Head.

The goal is for kids to “learn about the different options that exist for who they can be,” according to a therapist at the University of Minnesota Medical School, which spent over half a decade developing the controversial project funded by lefty Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

The Medical School’s Institute for Sexual and Gender Health research over those six years included paying $20 to $60 for “trans and gender diverse” children and their parents to play with the dolls and “talk about gender and bodies” in groups.

Prototypes of the dolls were shown in a 2024 conference where one named “Sam” can be seen in what appears to be some phase of a gender transition, with a detachable penis off to the side, and a dress and girls’ underwear within reach. Alaska Sends 3,000 Letters Asking Voters to Verify Their Citizenship ahead of this Year’s Elections

The state has sent more than 3,000 letters to Alaska voters asking them to verify their citizenship ahead of the Aug. 18 primary, a number a top state elections official said is unusually high. . .

Alaska Division of Elections Director Carol Beecher told state lawmakers during a hearing this week that it appears “a lot of old data was picked up somehow” when the division conducted voter roll maintenance that compares its list with information held by the Division of Motor Vehicles. The process usually yields about 200 names for further review, she said.

Beecher estimated during Wednesday’s hearing that the number of letters sent was around 3,500, but a Division of Elections spokesperson, Steve Kirch, on Thursday said the total was 3,048. Trump Orders Signs Outside Smithsonian Museum Amid Row over its Depiction of American History

President Donald Trump on Friday ordered his administration to install signs outside the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History directing visitors to what the White House describes as “accurate” information about the nation’s past.

The executive order instructs the National Park Service, which maintains the sidewalks outside the museum, to place signs informing visitors about a White House report released July 4 that criticized the Smithsonian’s portrayal of American history. Trump also directed the creation of a temporary exhibit intended to correct what his administration considers inaccurate historical information.

The move follows a report from Trump’s Domestic Policy Council that accused the Smithsonian and the National Museum of American History of failing to present history “in a way that is inspiring, unifying, and worthy of our great republic.”

Because the Smithsonian operates independently of the executive branch, Trump cannot directly remove museum leadership or unilaterally change exhibits. Instead, the order targets federal property outside the museum that falls under National Park Service jurisdiction.

In a groundbreaking discovery that has sent shockwaves through the scientific community, researchers working in the remote regions of the Democratic Republic of Congo have reportedly encountered what they’re describing as an “electric pangolin.” This unprecedented finding came during a biodiversity expedition in the depths of the Congo Basin rainforest, one of the most biodiverse yet least explored regions on Earth. Tech entrepreneur turned “biohacker” Bryan Johnson revealed the latest development in his quest for eternal youth — claiming he cloned himself as a newborn baby to harvest the organs.

New Insider Trading Ban Barely Scratches The Surface As Congress Tries To Appease Americans

The new insider trading ban legislation passed by the House stops short of a comprehensive ban on an issue many Americans have expressed concern about.

The Stop Insider Trading Act, passed by the House on Wednesday with a vote of 232-198, had more than a dozen Democrats join Republicans in support.

Public support for banning members of Congress from trading individual stocks while in office has grown after years of scrutiny over lawmakers’ well-timed trades and soaring investment portfolios. However, the legislation advanced by the House falls well short of the sweeping ban sought by many advocates that would target selling stocks and limit federal officials more broadly.

Introduced by Republican Wisconsin Rep. Bryan Steil, the bill would prohibit members of Congress from purchasing individual stocks while in office but would allow them to keep stocks they already own. Lawmakers could also continue selling individual stocks, provided they publicly disclose their intent to sell at least seven days beforehand.

The measure would also sharply increase penalties for disclosure violations. Members who fail to properly report stock transactions could face fines of $2,000 or 10% of the transaction’s value, whichever is greater. That would be an increase from the current $200 penalty for a first offense, according to CNBC. Trump Says AI Data Centers Pledge Will Make Power Bills ‘Actually Come Down’

President Donald Trump promised his data center pledge would lower Americans’ electricity bills.

Trump expanded his voluntary, nonbinding Ratepayer Protection Pledge on Thursday, the Associated Press reported. Signed by 23 governors, 55 utility companies and 27 data center companies, the pledge asks tech companies to cover their own power costs, according to the White House’s official Ratepayer Pledge page.

“Electricity bills for American families will actually come down,” Trump said, according to the AP. “They’re going to have a lot of electricity left over, and they’ll put that into the grid.”

Energy trends complicate that claim. “Residential electricity rates could rise 15% to 40% over the next five years,” the ICF, an energy consulting firm, said in a May 2025 analysis of select U.S. utilities.

“President Trump expanded his Ratepayer Protection Pledge to governors, legislators, developers, and power providers to ensure everyone involved in building and powering data centers covers their own costs instead of passing them on to American families,” White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
