See the Caitlyn Jenner-Inspired Billboard That Ignited so Much Controversy It Had to Be Removed

A Toledo, Ohio, talk radio station saw an opportunity to attract some attention on the current popularity of transgender Olympic gold medalist Caitlyn Jenner. While the resulting billboard certainly did get locals talking, the conversation was not entirely positive.

Social media users have since shared images of the sign, which has since been covered amid growing controversy.

While the host depicted in the obvious Jenner reference acknowledges the advertisement might have crossed a line, he isn’t shying away from future controversy.

“The billboard’s now down,” Denny Shaffer said, “so I don’t know what next is. We have another billboard going up next week.”

Though protests and petitions cemented the billboard’s fate, Shaffer has his supporters. An online petition to force him out of his job was met by an opposing effort to keep him behind the microphone at WWWM.
