Illegal Alien Arrested in Connection With Stabbing Released From Custody After Paperwork Went Unfiled — Then He Allegedly Committed a Murder
An illegal immigrant who was arrested in connection with a stabbing earlier this year was released from custody after paperwork went unfiled — then he allegedly committed a murder.
]In March, U.S. Border Patrol arrested Carlos Corrales-Ramirez, 20, of Honduras in Clinton County, New York, for not having documentation, WTEN-TV reported.
Authorities then discovered Corrales-Ramirez also was wanted in connection to a stabbing in Maryland, the station said. The stabbing occurred at a 7-Eleven in February, WRGB-TV reported.
Police in Laurel, Maryland, told WTEN that Corrales-Ramirez later was released from the custody of the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office because the state of Maryland failed to obtain a governor’s warrant to extradite him.
Fast-forward a few months later, and police in Troy, New York, are accusing Corrales-Ramirez of fatally stabbing 28-year-old Jairo Jesus Hernandez Sanchez on Sept. 2, WRGB reported, adding that Corrales-Ramirez was indicted for murder Tuesday.
