Trump Towers Over Republican Primary Field In Latest Polls
In the lead-up to the Republican primary race, former President Donald Trump is establishing a commanding presence, surpassing his rivals by a significant margin. According to the latest data from Morning Consult, Trump holds an impressive 66 percent support among potential GOP primary voters, dwarfing his competitors. The data, gathered from December 1 to 3 among 3,526 respondents, paints a picture of Trump’s overwhelming dominance in the field.

Trump’s lead is particularly striking, with a 53-point gap over the second-place contender, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who secures just 13 percent support. The survey places former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in third place with ten percent support, followed by entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy (six percent), former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (three percent support), and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (zero percent support). The survey’s margin of error for this portion is ± two percent.
Moreover, the poll delves into the favorability ratings of the candidates, revealing that Trump enjoys a 76 percent favorability among GOP primary voters. In contrast, DeSantis is viewed favorably by 62 percent, Ramaswamy by 54 percent, and Haley by 50 percent. Notably, all candidates share the same unfavorable rating of 23 percent.

The Morning Consult survey aligns with the State-Level Republican Primary survey, showcasing Trump’s dominance in various states, including those crucial to Super Tuesday. A closer look at the chart illustrates Trump’s majority support in key states such as Arizona, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Notably, Trump maintains a substantial lead of 37 points over DeSantis in their home state of Florida.
These results coincide with calls from prominent figures within the GOP urging the party to unite behind Trump. Figures such as South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem emphasize the growing support for Trump, citing polls indicating a shift from 43 percent in October to over 50 percent currently.
