Donald Trump Jr. Reportedly Hunted In Mongolia With Russian Oligarch Who Bankrolled His Wedding—And Killed An Endangered Sheep
Donald Trump Jr. reportedly took a hunting trip in August to a remote part of Mongolia with the Russian oligarch, Umar Kremlev, who helped pay for his wedding—the latest revelations about the relationship that is said to have angered President Donald Trump behind closed doors.
Kremlev accompanied Trump Jr. on his two-day hunting trip in August to western Mongolia, where Trump Jr. shot and killed an Altai argali, an endangered horned sheep, the Financial Times reported, citing social media posts, flight tracking data, local sources and public records.
A spokesperson for Trump Jr. confirmed the two went hunting together earlier this year, telling the Financial Times, “it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone” and that “Don has made clear that he has a personal friendship, not a business relationship, with Umar,” adding, “their friendship is largely based on their shared love for hunting, fishing and the outdoors.”
Trump Jr.’s relationship with Kremlev, the head of the scandal-plagued International Boxing Association who is close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, first raised eyebrows in September, when Trump Jr. and his wife, Bettina, admitted Kremlev helped fund their lavish wedding weekend at private islands in the Bahamas earlier this year.
While Bettina Trump (née Anderson) described the payment as an “extraordinarily generous wedding gift from a friend,” the president, who did not attend the wedding, told reporters “as I understand it, he paid him back, he didn’t want to have that.” (Read more from “Donald Trump Jr. Reportedly Hunted In Mongolia With Russian Oligarch Who Bankrolled His Wedding—And Killed An Endangered Sheep” HERE)
