The Philadelphia Inquirer published an op-ed titled “10 policies Biden must pass in his first 100 days, as drawn by Philly artists,” on Jan. 24. . .

The 10 posters, as depicted in the Inquirer piece, call for reforms and more discussions pertaining to climate change, housing, the economy, student debt, health care, affirmative action-based lending, welfare, and quicker COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Each portrait is accompanied by a short description, essentially explaining the relevance of the position.

The article, while intended for Pennsylvania audiences, is valuable in understanding the radicalized policy preferences of Democrats across the country. Just last week, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., called for a $50,000 student debt forgiveness plan. As prefaced by the 2020 Democratic primary debates, nearly all candidates supported some form of universal health care. Even now-Vice President Kamala Harris put forth a Marxist-inspired “equity” video on Twitter before being elected, essentially saying to hell with American meritocracy.

. . .The description of González’s poster reads, “Everyone deserves safe, accessible, and affordable housing. … As one of the wealthiest countries in the world, the U.S. has the resources to ensure that everyone has access to safe housing.”

. . .As economists throughout the country have said repeatedly, a $15 minimum wage would be impractical and imprudent and would inflate our economy. A top-down approach such as this would send the message that each state in the union is somehow parallel in economic and social norms, whereas our differences actually make the United States such an awesome place to live. NIH Refuses to Say ‘Women,’ Refers to Them as ‘Pregnant and Lactating People’

Some may remember the good old days when political correctness and woke ideology hadn’t infected America’s scientific institutions. Well, those days are long gone.

For proof, one need look no further than to a recent news release from the National Institutes of Health in which the organization repeatedly opted not to utter the word “women,” instead choosing to describe them as “pregnant and lactating people.”

In the news release, scientists lamented the fact that thus far pregnant women have not been included in coronavirus vaccine trials and that due to their exclusion, many pregnant women now face the difficult decision of whether or not to receive the vaccine without the benefit of scientific evidence regarding its safety.

In response, the institute is calling for greater inclusion for pregnant women in vaccine research. The topic is an important one and worthy of discussion, but sadly it will undoubtedly be overshadowed by the institute’s woke choice to refer to such individuals as “pregnant and lactating people.”

After the NIH tweeted the release using the same phrasing, conservative commentator Ben Shapiro jumped in to clarify, writing, “You mean ‘women.'”

CDC Pushing Double Masks

Double masking can significantly improve protection, new data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows.

Researchers found that layering a cloth mask over a medical procedural mask, such as a disposable blue surgical mask, can block 92.5% of potentially infectious particles from escaping by creating a tighter fit and eliminating leakage.

“These experimental data reinforce CDC’s prior guidance that everyone 2 years of age or older should wear a mask when in public and around others in the home not living with you,” CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, told a White House briefing.

Hillary Clinton: If GOP Senators Don’t Convict, It Proves That the Jury ‘Includes His Co-Conspirators’

Twice failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton sent a warning to Republican senators ahead of the first day of arguments in the Senate impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump concluding that they — the jurors — will prove that they are “his co-conspirators” if they do not ultimately side with Democrats and convict him.

“If Senate Republicans fail to convict Donald Trump, it won’t be because the facts were with him or his lawyers mounted a competent defense,” Clinton said on Wednesday. “It will be because the jury includes his co-conspirators”:

Clinton also retweeted a video of the deceptively edited video presented by lead House impeachment manager Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who promised to impeach Trump before the former president formally took office and, notably, objected to the certification of the 2016 election results in 2017.

Man Avoids Charges in Fatal Shooting Due to Stand Your Ground Law

A Miami Beach car wash customer will not face charges for fatally shooting a thief trying to make off with a Mercedes — despite a new video showing the SUV turning away from the man — because of Florida’s Stand Your Ground Law, reports say.

The fatal shooting happened in December 2018, when Stephen Allen Lott fired two shots at Jose Antonio Reyes Bermudez, who was boosting Lott’s boss’ Mercedes, according to the Miami Herald.

Lott had seen Reyes Bermudez jump into the luxury vehicle, ran out of the waiting area and shouted for the thief to stop, Local 10 reports.

Woman Dies in Extreme Cold Walking Home From Next-Door Neighbor’s House

A woman in Canada died of exposure while walking home from her next-door neighbor’s house in frigid weather, police said.

Officers found the woman dead outside her home in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, around 11 a.m. Sunday, the CBC reported.

An investigation found that she had gone to visit her friend the night prior and the two shared drinks.

“She departed the residence at around 1 a.m … and unfortunately did not make it home,” said RCMP Staff Sgt. Damon Werrell.

By New York Post. Former President Donald Trump’s lead impeachment lawyer warned Tuesday that “the floodgates will open” if the Senate convicts Trump of inciting the deadly storming of the Capitol by his supporters.

During arguments on Day One of Trump’s second impeachment trial, defense lawyer Bruce Castor said countless former government officials could be subjected to impeachment proceedings should House Democrats, led by US Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), prevail against the ex-president.

“If you go down the road Mr. Raskin asks you to go down, the floodgates will open,” Castor told the Senate.

Senate Votes 56-44 to Proceed With Trump Impeachment Trial

By New York Post. An overwhelming majority of Senate Republicans voted Tuesday against proceeding with the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump — signaling for a second time that his conviction is all but impossible.

The 56-44 vote to try Trump for allegedly inciting the deadly Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol by his supporters followed more than three hours of arguments by lawyers on both sides.

Six Republicans voted with all 50 Democrats, one more than during a vote last month that gauged support for one of the former president’s key defenses — that the Senate has no jurisdiction over him because he’s no longer in office. . .

The other Republican senators who reprised their January votes were frequent Trump critic Mitt Romney of Utah — who cast the lone GOP vote to convict Trump during his first impeachment trial — Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, who in October announced he was retiring from politics. Trump Impeachment Trial Begins

By Breitbart. Former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial begins on Tuesday with up to four hours of debate on whether a former president who was impeached while he was still in office can be prosecuted when he is no longer in the White House.

The impeachment trial will continue on Wednesday, with each side getting up to 16 hours to present their case, if a majority of Senators agree later today that Trump can be convicted as a former president.

TSA Says Mask Violators Could Get Hit With Fines of $1500 or More

Travelers who violate the federal transportation face mask mandate could receive fines ranging from $250 to as much as $1500 for repeat offenders, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced in an update on Friday.

This press release from the TSA also noted that “substantial aggravating or mitigating factors” may result in a recommended fine “outside these ranges.”

The TSA first announced the implementation of its mask requirement on Sunday in response to President Joe Biden’s executive order targeting COVID-19 protocols in domestic and international travel.

Release of Proud Boy Leader Charged in Capitol Riot Reversed Hours Later

The self-styled “Sergeant of Arms” for Seattle’s chapter of the far-right Proud Boys extremist group will remain in custody for his alleged role in the US Capitol riot.

Ethan Nordean, 30, was arrested on Feb. 3 on four charges in connection to the Jan. 6 siege, including violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. The bodybuilder and prominent Proud Boy on Monday appeared via video before a federal judge in Seattle, where his pretrial release was initially ordered, the Seattle Times reported.

But Magistrate Judge Brian Tsuchida’s ruling was reversed on appeal just hours later by US District Judge Beryl Howell in Washington, blocking the release of the man also known as “Rufio Panman” among right-wing extremists.

GOP Senator Floats Impeaching Chuck Schumer

Sen. Rand Paul said if Democrats seek to impeach former President Donald Trump for his rhetoric before the Capitol riot, then they should consider impeaching colleagues such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer “for inciting violence” in the past.

“I think if we are going to criminalize speech and somehow impeach everybody who says, oh, go fight to hear your voices heard, really we ought to impeach Chuck Schumer then,” the Kentucky Republican told Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace. “He went to the Supreme Court, stood in front of the Supreme Court and said specifically, hey [Justice Neil] Gorsuch, hey [Justice Brett] Kavanaugh, you’ve unleashed a whirlwind, and you’re going to pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you continue with these awful decisions.”

“This inflammatory wording, this violent rhetoric of Chuck Schumer was so bad that the chief justice, who rarely says anything publicly, immediately said this kind of language is dangerous as a mob tried to invade the Supreme Court,” he continued. “So if people want to hold President Trump accountable for language, there has to be a consistent standard, and to my mind, it’s a partisan farce because they’re not doing anything to Chuck Schumer, not doing anything to Rep. Omar, not doing anything to Maxine Waters. It’s just not fair. It’s just partisan politics under a different name.”

In early March 2020, Schumer identified Kavanaugh and Gorsuch by name in front of a crowd of supporters and cautioned them that they had “released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.” The New York Democrat, who later walked back his comments, drew bipartisan condemnation and a rebuke from Chief Justice John Roberts, which is seldom seen from the court.
