Merriam-Webster Lists ‘Sexual Preference’ as ‘Offensive’ after Amy Coney Barrett Spat

Merriam-Webster dictionary has changed “sexual preference” to be an “offensive” term — after Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett was accused of being “anti-LGBTQ” for saying it.

Barrett was attacked Tuesday by Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), who claimed the respected judge deliberately used the term during her confirmation hearing. . .

By that night, under its general listing for “preference,” Merriam-Webster had added an “offensive” warning before the part listing “sexual preference.”

“The term preference as used to refer to sexual orientation is widely considered offensive in its implied suggestion that a person can choose who they are sexually or romantically attracted to,” the dictionary added in extra guidance on usage.

The dictionary confirmed the change was made because of the Senate hearing spat. (Read more from “Merriam-Webster Lists ‘Sexual Preference’ as ‘Offensive’ after Amy Coney Barrett Spat” HERE)

Did the FBI Sit on a Computer Containing Evidence of Hunter Sex Tape and Biden Burisma Corruption?

. . .[T]here’s [allegedly] a sex tape and pornographic photos starring Hunter on the laptop—and the FBI knew about it in December.

The computer was dropped off at a repair shop in Biden’s home state of Delaware in April 2019, according to the store’s owner.

Other material extracted from the computer includes a raunchy, 12-minute video that appears to show Hunter, who’s admitted struggling with addiction problems, smoking crack while engaged in a sex act with an unidentified woman, as well as numerous other sexually explicit images.

The customer who brought in the water-damaged MacBook Pro for repair never paid for the service or retrieved it or a hard drive on which its contents were stored, according to the shop owner, who said he tried repeatedly to contact the client.

The shop owner couldn’t positively identify the customer as Hunter Biden, but said the laptop bore a sticker from the Beau Biden Foundation, named after Hunter’s late brother and former Delaware attorney general.

Facebook Censors Ad Slamming Biden and Harris Over Abortion Extremism

On Friday, Facebook prevented the pro-life group Susan B. Anthony (SBA) List from running ads in swing states slamming Democratic nominee Joe Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris, for their extreme pro-abortion stances. Facebook cited a fact-check from The Dispatch, Steve Hayes’ outlet, but The Dispatch later withdrew the fact-check and issued an apology. As of Friday afternoon, Facebook has kept up the “partly false information” flag despite The Dispatch’s apology. . .

Facebook claimed that ads “must not include claims debunked by third-party fact checkers or, in certain circumstances, claims debunked by organizations with particular expertise. Advertisers that repeatedly post misinformation may have permanent restrictions placed on their ability to advertise on Facebook.” . . .

“Our ad makes the same factual argument Vice President Pence made about the Biden-Harris record in support of late-term abortions during the vice presidential debate, an argument Kamala Harris didn’t bother refuting herself,” the SBA List president explained. “Our argument is also backed by the Democratic Party platform, which flatly calls for no limits on abortion.”

Dannenfelser noted that Facebook shut down similar pro-life ads from SBA List in 2018, but the company later apologized. “Now they have outsourced their censorship to the anti-Trump press, continually waging a suppression campaign specifically targeting pro-life conservative voices. We refuse to be silenced.” (Read more from “Facebook Censors Ad Slamming Biden and Harris Over Abortion Extremism” HERE)

1.9M Years of Life Lost in COVID-19 Pandemic

A new study suggests that 1.9 million life years have been lost from the coronavirus pandemic.

The Health Care Cost Institute estimated the excess years of lost life, a measure of premature mortality, from April to August 2020 in the United States. The study accounts for excess years of life lost from all causes and not just COVID-19. However, years of lost life are 13% above the historical average during that period, suggesting that COVID-19 played an outsized role.

The bulk of years of lost life came from people age 65 and older, who accounted for about 52%. Those ages 45-64 accounted for 17%, and those 20-44 accounted for 29%. (Read more from “1.9h Years of Life Lost in COVID-19 Pandemic” HERE)

Portland Law Enforcement Prepare for Violence on Election Day

The Portland Police Bureau and the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office announced on Friday they are preparing for potential unrest on and after Election Day. The announcement comes after the city has been plagued with riots on a near-daily basis since late May after the death of George Floyd.

“In the past, some individuals and groups have gathered and marched following the election results, both in celebration and sometimes because they are angered or upset. In some instances, significant damage was done to local businesses, which did not change the election outcome, but hurt our community members,” their press release stated.

“PPB and MCSO will be increasing staffing on Election Day and the days following as a precaution. While we promote and support the exercise of the First Amendment rights to assemble and engage in free speech, engagement in criminal activity will not be tolerated.” (Read more from “Portland Law Enforcement Prepare for Violence on Election Day” HERE)

Another Key Case Amy Coney Barrett Could Decide on If Confirmed to the Supreme Court

The Senate Democrats on the Judiciary Committee spoke endlessly about Obamacare. I know some were asking, ‘is this a Supreme Court nomination hearing or one on Obamacare?’ It was both. The Affordable Care Act will come before the Court again on November 10. By all accounts, the vote count hasn’t changed. The Senate GOP has the votes to confirm her, so Judge Amy Coney Barrett, who President Trump nominated to fill the vacancy left by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, will be a deciding vote. Yet, there’s another case where soon-to-be-Justice Amy Coney Barrett will weigh in on the 2020 census. The Supreme Court just announced that they will hear arguments concerning whether illegal aliens can be excluded from the count (via NBC News):

The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Friday to consider whether the Trump administration can leave undocumented immigrants out of the count of total population in the census.

In a brief order, the court set the case for argument on Nov. 30. If she’s confirmed by then, Judge Amy Coney Barrett could participate in the case.

A census is required every ten years by the Constitution, and the results determine how many members of Congress each state gets in the US House of Representatives. The data is also used to calculate a local government’s share of $1.5 trillion in funds under many federal programs

Explosive Emails Show Joe Biden Stood to Profit from Son’s Chinese Business Deals

Sources confirmed to Fox News on Friday that new emails published by the New York Post show former Vice President Joe Biden stood profit from his son Hunter’s business deals with officials linked to the Chinese Communist Party (CPP).

An email dated for May 13, 2017 obtained by Fox News features talk of “remuneration packages” for six individuals with a multi-million dollar deal with a Chinese energy company. The same email identified Hunter Biden as the “Chair / Vice Chair depending on agreement with CEFC.” CEFC China Energy Co. Ltd. is the Chinese energy firm founded by Ye Jianming, who held positions with the CCP and reportedly offered Hunter Biden $10 million a year for introductions alone.

The email in question features a note reading, “Hunter has some office expectations he will elaborate,” which reference “20” for “H” and “10 held by H for the big guy?” According to Fox News, one individual copied on the email confirmed the authenticity of the correspondence. Multiple sources, added Fox, said “the big guy” is in reference to Joe Biden, now the Democratic presidential candidate. In other words, Hunter Biden was serving as the conduit through which the Chinese businessmen closely related to the CCP would funnel money to the former vice president.

The bombshell revelation published less than three weeks until the November election comes days after the New York Post dumped its first round of reporting on content found on a Delaware computer. On Wednesday, the Post reported emails showing Joe Biden repeatedly lied when claiming he never spoke with Hunter, “or with anyone else,” about his son’s potentially criminal overseas business activity and even fat-shamed an Iowa voter for bringing it up. To the contrary, emails showed Hunter Biden actually introduced a senior advisor named Vadym Pozharskyi to his Ukrainian energy company, Burisma, to his vice president father. State Bans Open Carry of Guns at Polling Locations

Michigan announced a ban on Friday of the open carry of guns at polling places to avoid voter harassment and intimidation during the critical swing state election.

The announcement by Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson drew a quick rebuke from some Republicans and gun rights activists, including the National Rifle Association, but the Democratic official said firearms at voting sites could cause fear and disruption for election workers and Michiganders trying to cast their ballots on Nov. 3.

“Fair, free and secure elections are the foundation of our democracy,” Benson said in a statement. “I am committed to ensuring all eligible Michigan citizens can freely exercise their fundamental right to vote without fear of threats, intimidation or harassment. Prohibiting the open-carry of firearms in areas where citizens cast their ballots is necessary to ensure every voter is protected.”

Michigan leaders have been high alert for armed intimidation, in the wake of gun-carrying protesters storming the Michigan Capitol and a foiled plot by Michigan militia extremists attempting to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. President Trump, who has repeatedly warned of voter fraud, urged his supporters to be vigilant and “to go into the polls and watch very carefully because that’s what has to happen.”

Over 300K Ballot Applications Not Accepted in This State

Pennsylvania has cast off hundreds of thousands of applications for mail-in ballots ahead of the 2020 election, because of confusion about the process.

About 372,000 requests were rejected, as reported by ProPublica on Friday, largely because many of them, about 90%, were duplicates. Overall, one out of every five requests for mail-in ballots are being rejected, according to the publication.

The main reason? Many people who voted during the June primaries may have already checked a box to request a mail-in ballot for the November election.

However, people who made more than one request should eventually receive their ballot, a spokesperson for the Pensylvania State Department said. They can also head to the polls on Election Day.

The spokesperson said about 2 million people have selected an option to automatically have ballots sent for the current calendar year, meaning they do not need to reapply. (Read more from “Over 300K Ballot Applications Not Accepted in This State” HERE)

Biden Proudly Supports Transgender Treatments for Children

Former Vice President Joe Biden said Thursday eight-year-old children should be allowed to decide if they are transgender, but, the Democrat presidential nominee has waded into an area that many pediatricians and researchers say is fraught with danger for young children and can lead to sterility.

“The idea that an eight-year-old child, a ten-year-old child, decides, you know, ‘I want to be transgender. That’s what I think I’d like to be. It’d make my life a lot easier’ — there should be zero discrimination,” Biden said during an ABC town hall event to a woman who identified herself as the mother of an eight-year-old “transgender daughter.” . . .

The American College of Pediatricians reported that experts on both sides of the issue agree “80 percent to 95 percent” of children with a diagnosis of gender dysphoria “accepted their biological sex by late adolescence.”

“This worldview began to shift, however, as adult transgender activists increasingly promoted the ‘feminine essence’ narrative to secure social acceptance,” the pediatricians added.

Despite both the data affirming the high percentage of children who naturally grow out of gender confusion and the clear science of biology, the College observed “there are now 40 gender clinics across the United States that promote the use of pubertal suppression and cross-sex hormones in children.” (Read more from “Biden Proudly Supports Transgender Treatments for Children” HERE)
