MIT: Hackers Could Alter Ballots in Widely Used Voting App

An internet voting app that has been used in pilots in West Virginia, Denver, Oregon and Utah has vulnerabilities that could allow hackers to change a person’s vote without detection, according to researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The analysis of the Voatz app, which has mostly been used for absentee voters and overseas military personnel, found that attackers could “alter, stop or expose how an individual has voted.” . . .

“We all have an interest in increasing access to the ballot, but in order to maintain trust in our elections system, we must assure that voting systems meet the high technical and operation security standards before they are put in the field,” Daniel Weitzner, an MIT scientist who oversaw the report, said Thursday. Expert: China Has ‘Global Chokehold’ on Medicine, Can Shut Down Our Pharmacies, Hospitals in Months

China could effectively shut down America’s healthcare system within months given the one-party state’s “global chokehold” on the manufacturing of medicines and medical supplies, explained Rosemary Gibson, author of China Rx: Exposing the Risks of America’s Dependence on China for Medicine.

Gibson, senior adviser at the Hastings Center, offered her remarks on Thursday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight with host Rebecca Mansour and special guest host Ed Martin.

Mansour noted how the coronavirus outbreak in China has exposed America’s dangerous dependence on Chinese production of pharmaceutical and medical supplies, including an estimated 97 percent of all antibiotics and 80 percent of the active pharmaceutical ingredients needed for domestic drug production.

Gibson said, “If China shuts the door on exports of medicines and the ingredients to make them, within a couple of months our pharmacies would be empty. Our healthcare system would cease to function. That’s how dependent we are.”

Gibson added, “Say there’s a coronavirus outbreak in the United States, God forbid, and a lot of people end up in hospitals with severe cases. The medicines needed to care for them if they can’t breathe and are on a ventilator — fentanyl and propofol — [are made in China]. We depend on China for the raw materials. If they go into shock, the epinephrine and dopamine we need to care for them, we depend on China. If they have bacterial infections, we depend on China for the antibiotics.” (Read more from “Expert: China Has ‘Global Chokehold’ on Medicine, Can Shut Down Our Pharmacies, Hospitals in Months” HERE)

Trump Deploying ‘Elite Tactical Agents’ to Sanctuary Cities

President Trump is deploying a group of “elite tactical agents” to sanctuary cities across the United States to increase the number of arrests of criminal illegal aliens, a report states. . .

The BORTAC agents are expected to help Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents with deportation operations between February and May in an effort to increase arrests of criminal illegal aliens by 35 percent, according to emails read to the Times. . .

The added BORTAC agents aiding ICE with arrests of criminal illegal aliens comes as federal immigration officials reportedly requested more help in the sanctuary cities that shield fugitives from deportation.

Most recently, the Trump administration has released a full-fledged federal campaign to take on sanctuary jurisdictions. At the Justice Department, Attorney General William Barr has filed lawsuits against the sanctuary state of New Jersey and the sanctuary county of King County, Washington for their obstruction of national immigration law. Embarrassing: 2020 Dem Can’t Name President of Mexico

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) could not name the president of Mexico when asked to do so by a Telemundo reporter in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Thursday evening.

Earlier this year, Klobuchar voted for the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) in the Senate, noting the importance of Mexico to the U.S. economy:

Canada and Mexico are Minnesota’s two biggest trading partners, and I recently voted to approve the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) on trade. I supported USMCA since, with the additionally negotiated pro-labor and environmental changes, as well as the elimination of a provision that would have benefitted pharmaceutical companies at the expense of consumers, I felt the agreement provided much needed stability and economic opportunity for American farmers, producers, and consumers. A North American trading bloc is also an essential strategy to competing with China on a global scale.

However, when quizzed by Telemundo, she could not remember the name of Mexico’s president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (or AMLO, as he is colloquially known).

Klobuchar was interviewed by Telemundo following Thursday night’s League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) presidential forum, which Breitbart News covered. (Read more from “Embarrassing: 2020 Dem Can’t Name President of Mexico” HERE)

Transgender Reports Man to Police for His ‘Gender Critical’ Tweets – Here’s How the Judge Responded

A British judge ruled Friday that a man who issued “gender critical” comments on Twitter is protected by free speech.

According to Reuters, a British judge issued the ruling after a transgender woman complained to authorities that a man on social media made what [he] called “brazen transphobic comments.”

Former police officer Harry Miller allegedly shared 31 “gender critical” remarks between November 2018 and January 2019. . .

The unnamed trans [“woman”] called authorities and filed a complaint. Upon investigation, authorities determined that Miller’s Twitter remarks were considered a “non-crime hate incident.” . . .

Judge Julian Knowles at London’s High Court said that Miller’s remarks were lawful and protected by free speech. (Read more from “Transgender Reports Man to Police for His ‘Gender Critical’ Tweets – Here’s How the Judge Responded” HERE)

State Employee ‘Heavily Involved With the Democratic Party’ Arrested for Allegedly Vandalizing GOP Headquarters (VIDEO)

A New Mexico state employee who once interned for Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham was arrested for allegedly vandalizing Republican Party headquarters in Albuquerque, KOAT-TV reported.

Detectives said Cameron Chase McCall was identified on surveillance video spray painting the words “Still Traitors” on the building last week, the station noted. . .

McCall is an employee with Expo New Mexico and is now on leave, the station said, adding that an Expo spokesman noted that if McCall is the individual on the video, he could be terminated.

A spokesman for the governor confirmed McCall interned for her when she was a U.S. congresswoman and noted that Grisham condemned the vandalism as unacceptable behavior, KOAT said. . .

Police also are investigating if McCall is the same person who spray painted GOP headquarters last March with the word “Traitors,” KOAT reported.

In Maryland, You Can Release MS-13 Murderers, but You Can’t Release… Balloons?

Balloons? Bad! Illegal alien MS-13 murderers? Good!

Is that the message Maryland’s politicians are sending to its taxpayers?

Maryland’s urban areas are in the midst of the worst crime crisis ever, even rivaling the crime waves of the 1970s and 1980s. But fear not, they are getting tough – really tough – on those soft round things that bring joy to the eyes of any toddler.

On Monday, the Maryland Senate passed a bill 38-3 (SB28) that would prohibit balloon “releases” in the state unless they’re for scientific research. Violators above the age of 13 will face a penalty of up to $250. That’s certainly a lot more than the teen carjackers terrorizing my suburban Baltimore neighborhood pay when they get released with no prison time. The bill now heads to the House, where Democrats have an insurmountable super-majority.

With record homicides both in Baltimore City and Baltimore County, there has not been a single piece of legislation passed this session dealing with tougher sentencing and closing the criminal loopholes that allow the release of so many violent criminals into the human ecosystem. But it’s worse than that.

The same Maryland Democrats who have a sense of urgency to act out against what they see as harmful balloon releases are also championing the release of even the worst criminal alien gang members.

Maryland has a Salvadoran illegal alien gang problem of epic proportions, perhaps the worst in the country, especially in sanctuary jurisdictions like Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. The Washington Post observed the MS-13 problem there was “fueled by fresh recruits from an unprecedented wave of almost 200,000 unaccompanied minors from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.” Baltimore City is also a notorious sanctuary for criminal aliens.

Last year, Prince George’s County passed a bill, in contravention to federal law and against the warnings of its own police department, to prohibit county officials from working with ICE in any capacity, even for the detention and removal of the worst criminal aliens.

In May 2018, two MS-13 members were arrested on murder charges but were released despite an ICE detainer and barely served time in prison. Almost exactly a year later, they were arrested again for first-degree murder of a 14-year-old, and authorities still wouldn’t honor an ICE detainer!

Last year, Montgomery County became a national laughingstock when a local reporter revealed that it had released numerous illegal alien rapists, including child rapists, back into the communities in defiance of ICE detainers.

Yet there is no sense of urgency in Maryland’s legislature to deal with the ultimate pollution of our streets – the release of other countries’ dangerous gang members who prey on children. Where do we see their passion? Fining kids who release balloons.

We already knew that liberals have no regard for the safety of our communities and children. Now we know they also want to take the fun out of their lives. (For more from the author of “In Maryland, You Can Release MS-13 Murderers, but You Can’t Release… Balloons?” please click HERE)

Government Watchdog: 284 Americans Died Working on Afghanistan ‘Reconstruction’

Dying while building for others.

A new report from the special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction (SIGAR) shows that the human cost of the war in Afghanistan wasn’t limited to U.S. soldiers engaged in combat.

“At least 284 Americans were killed in Afghanistan while performing reconstruction or stabilization missions,” according to the new SIGAR report specially focused on the human cost of the reconstruction effort. “This includes 216 U.S. service members and 68 U.S. civilians (government employees, contractors, and those with unknown statuses). An additional 245 service members and 76 civilians were wounded.”

While the loss of soldiers in any form of warfare is tragic, it’s truly unsettling to find that so many soldiers and American civilians died working on urban renewal projects for a nonexistent nation-state on behalf of a corrupt government.

In testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee last week, John Sopko, the special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction, laid bare the myth of the Afghan military as a worthy cause for American interests. “The Afghan military — and particularly the Afghan police — has been a hopeless nightmare and a disaster,” said the inspector, who has been the lone voice exposing the Afghan fraud for years.

Testifying before the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee earlier this week, Sopko noted how every time things deteriorate with the Afghan government and military, the Pentagon moved to classify the information so it’s off-limits to public scrutiny. “Every time we find something that looks like it’s going negative, it gets classified. … Most of the [methods] of measuring success are now classified,” he said Tuesday before the Senate panel.

This is the state of the failed mission so many people are dying for. In addition to the 284 who have died from reconstruction efforts, according to SIGAR, 245 U.S. soldiers and 76 civilian workers were injured. These casualties are all for the reconstruction efforts and don’t include the tens of thousands who were killed or injured during combat and counter-terrorism missions, such as patrols, raids, and ambushes.

According to the report, 59 American service members were killed and another 49 wounded from insider attacks while engaging in reconstruction activities. Hundreds more have been killed in ambushes in combat-related activities by the very soldiers they are training. The latest are two special forces soldiers – Sgt. Javier Jaguar Gutierrez and Sgt. Antonio Rey Rodriguez – who were killed last weekend in the far east of the country when soldiers they were training led them into a Taliban ambush.

Bizarrely, rather than voting on a new mission or withdrawing from a war with an enormous human and fiscal toll, the Senate passed a war powers resolution on Thursday to curtail Trump’s authority to combat Iran in a war that is nonexistent. Eight Republicans joined with every Democrat to pass the resolution 55-45.

Democrats are right to be concerned that 100 soldiers wound up being injured in Iraq from the Iran missile attack launched in retaliation for the killing of Qassem Soleimani. However, that is a reason to pull out of Iraq, so that we are not sitting ducks for Iran while we are propping up a government in Baghdad that is allied with Iran.

As I reported in January, most of these very same members voted for a defense authorization bill last December that continues to authorize our military and diplomatic missions all over Iraq. What do they want from the president? To keep them there but not to defend them? All but four Democrats supported that bill, yet they want to tie the hands of the president in defending a mission they keep greenlighting.

When one GOP member offered an amendment to clarify that the president can use force to “defend U.S. territories, citizens, or personnel at military bases and diplomatic facilities or to restrict missions related to force protection of U.S. aircraft, ships, or personnel,” it was defeated, 51-49, with GOP Sens. Collins, Lee, Moran, and Paul joining the Democrats.

Also, so many of the members who voted for this resolution absolutely savaged Trump for pulling out of an undeclared war in Syria. What gives? They oppose a pullout from Syria, are silent on Afghanistan and Iraq, but want to tie his hands from deterring the one enemy that harms our interests the most? Besides, Trump has already made it clear that he has no interest in getting involved with Iran on the ground as we did in other countries and that regime change is up to the people of Iran.

Clearly, this is all about virtue-signaling and appeasing Iran. This has nothing to do with national security, the safety of our soldiers, or concern for congressional input in unaccountable wars. If that were true, Mr. Sopko’s voice wouldn’t be so lonely sounding the alarm on Afghanistan for so long.

Recently, Trump has expressed his desire to pull out from Afghanistan altogether. Watch for Senate Democrats once again take the other side of the war issue and suddenly demand that he not end a war without Congress. New Details Emerge in Ilhan Omar’s Marriage Scandal

New details involving far-left Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) marital scandal emerged on Friday after a British publication reported that Omar is paying her ex-husband to stay quiet about her alleged affair.

The Daily Mail reported that Omar’s husband, Ahmed Hirsi, “discovered the truth about her torrid affair with her chief fundraiser [Tim Mynett] when he went to her Washington D.C. apartment last spring and found the lovers lounging around in pajamas.” . . .

“He suspected she was cheating but she kept telling him he was paranoid,” a source told The Daily Mail. “He told her he wanted to move down to D.C. to be with her but she insisted he should stay in Minneapolis with the children. Eventually he surprised her down there and his worst fears were confirmed.”

Sources told The Daily Mail that Omar allegedly agreed to a financial settlement with Hirsi that would pay him tens of thousands of dollars per year, up to $250,000 total, “but only if he did not speak publicly about the marriage breakdown.” . . .

The source said that the embarrassment that Omar has caused the Somalia community comes from the alleged affair, her decision to hold an event at a distillery, and her embrace of LGBT rights. (Read more from “New Details Emerge in Ilhan Omar’s Marriage Scandal” HERE)

Justice Department Drops Criminal Investigation Into Andrew McCabe

In a turn of events that will only shock those unfamiliar with the Washington, D.C. swamp, the Department of Justice announced Friday that it would drop its criminal investigation into ex-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

In a letter sent from J.P. Cooney, head of the DOJ’s Fraud & Public Corruption Section and Molly Gaston, assistant U.S. attorney, the department said that the government has decided to drop the investigation and charges”

We write to inform you that, after careful consideration, the Government has decided not to pursue criminal charges against your client, Andrew G. McCabe, arising from the referral by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) to our Office of conduct described in OIG’s April 13, 2018, report entitled, “A Report of Investigation of Certain Allegations Relating to Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.” Based on the totality of the circumstances and all of the information known to the Government at this time, we consider the matter closed. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

McCabe was fired in 2018. One month before, the OIG released the aforementioned report, which found that McCabe “lacked candor, including under oath, on multiple occasions in connection with describing his role in connection with a disclosure to the [Wall Street Journal]”

As The Daily Wire wrote last year, such dishonesty is a violation of FBI policy. The OIG also determined that McCabe violated FBI and DOJ policy by disclosing “the existence of an ongoing investigation in the manner described in this report.” (Read more from “Justice Department Drops Criminal Investigation Into Andrew McCabe” HERE)
