Katie Hill’s Defenders Have It Wrong: Male Politicians’ Extramarital Affairs Have Repeatedly Cost Them Their Jobs

Democratic California Rep. Katie Hill and her defenders have said the congresswoman is the victim of a double standard, but history indicates otherwise. . .

On the contrary, extramarital affairs have repeatedly cost male politicians their jobs. Contrary to Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — who said that “revenge porn” doesn’t “happen to male members in the same way” — male politicians have repeatedly seen lewd photos of themselves leaked without their consent. . .

Former Republican Texas Rep. Joe Barton announced in his retirement in 2017, after a nude photograph of the congressman was posted online, revealing an extramarital affair. Barton apologized for the photo and left Congress after his seventeenth term. . .

An extramarital affair cost former Republican Indiana Rep. Mark Souder his job as well. Souder resigned in 2010 after he admitted to having an affair with one of his congressional staffers — the same allegation that Hill faced before she announced her resignation. . .

Former Democratic New York Rep. Anthony Weiner resigned from Congress in 2011 after he was revealed to have sent explicit photographs of himself to a number of women. Weiner’s sexting scandals continued after he left Congress — his 2013 mayoral bid was scuttled after he was exposing sexting under the name “Carlos Danger” — and he later served time in prison in relation to sexually explicit messages he exchanged with an underage girl. Justice Ginsburg May Have Lied to Senate, Bill Clinton Admits He Picked Her Because She’s Pro-Abortion

Former President Bill Clinton admitted Wednesday that abortion was a major factor in his decision to nominate Ruth Bader Ginsburg to the U.S. Supreme Court.

“There is one thing that we did discuss, and I feel I should tell you, because it will illustrate why I thought I should appoint her,” Clinton said during a speech at Georgetown University Law School, ABC News reports. . .

Ginsburg is perhaps the most faithful defender of abortion on demand on the U.S. Supreme Court, but Clinton’s admission is significant because, as ABC News noted, “political leaders in both parties have sought to avoid the appearance of an abortion litmus test for high court nominees.”

According to National Review, Clinton’s comments also suggest Ginsburg may have lied during her U.S. Senate confirmation hearing. . .

“Abortion was a big issue in 1992 — the right to choose. I was one of the first pro-choice Democrats to run since Roe v. Wade, who actually benefited from Roe v. Wade,” he said Wednesday. “Now, she didn’t have to say anything about this. She knew this perfectly well that I was under a lot of pressure to make sure I appointed someone who is Simon-pure, which I had said was important.” (Read more from “Justice Ginsburg May Have Lied to Senate, Bill Clinton Admits He Picked Her Because She’s Pro-Abortion” HERE)

Most Americans Oppose Democrats’ Plans for ‘Safe, Legal and Rare’ Abortions up to Birth

Recent comments from Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (who just announced she will not run for re-election, instead focusing on her presidential campaign) and former Planned Parenthood President Dr. Leana Wen that espousing support for any and all abortions at any time for any reason may be problematic have produced some interesting results.

First coined by “Slick Willie” (Bill Clinton), to talk of abortion being “safe, legal, and rare” was hypocritical, of course. Clinton never meant a word of it. But hypocrisy is the tribute vice pays to (in this instance a comparative) virtue, and so he frequently offered up the mantra. . .

North’s jumping off point was that Hillary Clinton used the safe, legal, and rare refrain back in 2008 when running for president. “The language was likely meant to appeal to people who supported the right to an abortion in principle but still felt morally conflicted about the procedure — a large group, according to some polling,” North writes.” . . .

However, North tells her readers, “Despite the shift, divisions on abortion remain among Democrats.” In a nutshell (my interpretation here), those who still believe in voicing “safe, legal, and rare “ fear Planned Parenthood is becoming so politicized and so identified with abortion, its reputation will sooner or later take a dramatic hit.

It’s worth recalling that polls conducted in the past show that a huge percentage of Americans do not know Planned Parenthood performs abortions (including even many pro-lifers) and even those who did know greatly underestimate the number (321000+ annually). ‘South Park’ Trolls China Again

The satire wheelhouse that is “South Park” continued its attack on China this week in response to the country banning the show for criticizing the Communist Party of China’s penchant for censorship.

“The writers of ‘South Park’ continued to tweak China in its latest edition, with Randy wearing a President Xi Jinping mask in the opening credits,” reported Deadline of this week’s episode. “The zinger recalled ‘South Park’s’ earlier poke at the lion’s cage. That, too, involved Randy, who was forced to shout out an epithet against the Chinese government.” . . .

“South Park” has been on an extended anti-China crusade this whole season, blasting anyone or, more precisely, any business that will censor itself in the name of doing business with the communist country. It all began several weeks ago when the episode “Band in China” angered the government to the point that the show was banned inside the country. Rather than cater to the country’s sensibilities, show co-creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker doubled down in their hits by issuing the most irreverent “apology” they could muster.

“Like the NBA, we welcome the Chinese censors into our homes and into our hearts,” Parker and Stone wrote. “We too love money more than freedom and democracy. Xi doesn’t look just like Winnie the Pooh at all! Tune into our 300th episode this Wednesday at 10! Long live the Great Communist Party of China! May this autumn’s sorghum harvest be bountiful! We good now China?”

One week later, the show took the criticism one step further when the character, Randy Marsh, uttered the words “f*** the Chinese government” during an episode. That was quickly followed up with another episode that mocked basketball star LeBron James for criticizing Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey’s public support for the Hong Kong protesters, which had sparked massive tensions between the NBA and the Chinese government. 2020 Candidate: U.S. Government ‘Is Hiding the Truth’ About 9/11 Terror Attacks

Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard said during a Fox News interview on Thursday night that the United States government is “hiding the truth” about the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Gabbard, a Representative from Hawaii, told Tucker Carlson that she believes that the U.S. government is covering up Saudi Arabia’s role in the attacks which killed thousands of Americans.

“This story that we’re hearing from the families of those who were killed on 9/11 pushes this issue to the forefront where, for so long, leaders in our government have said, ‘well, Saudi Arabia is our great ally, they’re a partner in counterterrorism’ — turning a blind eye or completely walking away from the reality that Saudi Arabia time and again, has proven to be the opposite,” Gabbard said.

“They’re undermining our national security interests … they are the number one exporter of this Wahhabi extremist ideology,” Gabbard continued. “They’re a fertile recruiting ground for terrorists, like al Qaeda and ISIS around the world. They’re directly providing arms and assistance to al Qaeda, in places like Yemen, and in Syria.”

“And as we are seeing here, it is our government, our own government that is hiding the truth … and the many other families of those who were killed on 9/11,” Gabbard concluded. “For what? Where do the loyalties really lie?” (Read more from “Tulsi Gabbard: U.S. Government ‘Is Hiding the Truth’ About 9/11 Terror Attacks” HERE)

GOP Sent Moving Boxes to Democrats in Competitive Races After Impeachment Vote

There were some reports that House Democrats didn’t have the votes. The 25 or so Democrats who won in Trump districts know the polling. In battleground states, Trump’s impeachment isn’t popular. These folks didn’t win their 2018 races by massive margins. One bad move or vote could sink them, but those concerns were extinguished yesterday when House Democrats mustered 232 votes for this coup attempt—sorry, I mean impeachment push. Pelosi must’ve promised these members all the cover ad support they need, along with the pin number to the Democrats’ 2020 war chest. Still, that didn’t stop the National Republican Congressional Committee from sending moving boxes to these competitive districts represented by Democrats with a simple message: ‘Get packing’ (via USA Today):

The National Republican Congressional Committee sent packing boxes to several House Democrats who represent battleground states to signify they’ll need them as “moving boxes” next November, prompting Capitol Hill police to investigate them as suspicious packages.

The boxes were delivered outside the offices of Reps. Abigail Spanberger (D-Va.), Jennifer Wexton (D-Va.), Conor Lamb (D-Pa.) and others to indicate they will not be in office much longer because of their participation into the impeachment investigation of President Donald Trump.

Chicago Is Tough on Guns and Soft on Crime, and the People Suffer

It’s the sort of gun violence that happens every day, but is conveniently ignored by those who hate guns, except in the hands of repeat violent offenders. A seven-year-old girl was out trick-or-treating with her father in Chicago dressed up as a bumblebee. Suddenly, they were caught in the crossfire of a Latin Kings gang war, and the child was shot in the neck and chest.

While the identity of the suspected gunman has not yet been revealed, the Chicago Tribune is reporting that the target of the gunfire was a 32-year-old Latin King man “with a record of drug and assault arrests.” The man, who refused to cooperate with police even though he was the intended victim, was walking among the children who were trick-or-treating. The seven-year-old girl remains in critical but stable condition.

Once again, we see that so much of the gun violence in Chicago, a city with one of the toughest gun control laws in the nation, is caused by known wolves who are out on the streets despite their criminal records. Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson is too busy fighting with Trump and promoting illegal aliens to actually deal with the epidemic of jailbreak policies allowing the worst gang members to remain on the streets. Politicians often dismiss gang violence as bad people killing other bad people, but this incident demonstrates how innocent people are often killed or injured in the crossfire.

The feds have a history of targeting Latin Kings members in Chicago on drug charges to take them off the streets when they escape justice in the state system. This was the big lie behind the First Step Act. Federal prosecutors don’t target “low-level, first-time, non-violent drug offenders” for long sentences; they target gang murderers and use drug laws (or firearms or racketeering) to get them off the streets.

The results of the federal jailbreak bill already came home to roost in Providence, Rhode Island, last month when Joel Francisco, who was released in February under the First Step Act, was charged with murder. Francisco was serving life in prison for a third drug trafficking charge in 2005 under the “three strikes and you’re out” law. However, he got such a severe sentence not because of drugs but because he was a known Latin Kings member responsible for a lot of violence in the city, including shooting a man in the back of the head, execution-style, in 1997. He pleaded no contest for that incident, so at the time he escaped full justice in the state system. The feds targeted him specifically for this reason, yet the First Step Act released him.

Once Francisco was released earlier this year, he tested positive for drugs several times thereafter and was caught attempting to break into his former girlfriend’s house armed with a knife but was never reincarcerated before the October 2 fatal stabbing for which he was arrested two weeks later.

This is the story of Chicago and other major cities as well. Politicians in both parties misleadingly parade convicts before the cameras who they believe were over-sentenced, but for every one of those, there are hundreds of people who are under-sentenced. Yet there is no voice for those victims. Hunter Best, 26, is another recent example of the worst criminals barely serving time in Chicago.

Best was charged with breaking into two homes in Lincoln Park last May and sexually assaulting two young girls in separate incidents on the same night. Surveillance images, video, and DNA testing all substantiated the charges. Yet, as always, it’s too hard, not too easy, to land a conviction, so, according to CWB Chicago, the prosecutor dropped 26 felony charges, “including four counts of Class X felony home invasion involving a sex offense” and “14 burglary counts and four sex-related charges.” Instead, the prosecutor accepted his guilty plea to just two counts of residential burglary.

According to the original charges, as reported by CWB Chicago, “the 13-year-old girl woke up when Best entered her bedroom. Best remained in the room for about fifteen minutes, kissing the girl and rubbing her shoulders as the girl pleaded with him to leave.” The second girl, eleven years old, told investigators that “the man kissed her on the lips and touched her private areas.” Yet, thanks to the plea bargain, good time credits, and time served, this man will be out of prison in a little more than two years from now.

These stories of the worst assaulters, robbers, and even murderers or child molesters barely serving time, despite massive rap sheets, happen every day. They are the stories politicians in both parties have no interest in telling. It’s a criminal’s world; we just live in it. They get the treats from the special interest groups, while we are left with the tricks – quite dangerous ones. New Report Shows How Much Americans’ Taxes Would Have to Go up to Pay for Medicare for All

The following is an excerpt from Blaze Media’s Capitol Hill Brief email newsletter:

Unless you’re completely detached from reality, you know that the Medicare for All proposals being tossed around among 2020 Democratic presidential candidates would have a heavy impact on the American taxpayer and economy. A new report from the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget offers an idea of how heavy that impact would be.

“There is not enough annual income available among higher earners to finance the full cost of Medicare for All,” the report says, noting that lawmakers will have to find other ways to pay for it, which will likely mean raising taxes on the middle class. The report says there are a few different ways to foot the bill, such as doubling all individual income tax rates, imposing a new 32 percent payroll tax, or increasing the cost of goods and services by 42 percent through a value-added tax, just to name a few.

So, for those pushing the proposal out on the campaign trail, the question is (or at least ought to be) which kind of massive tax hike they think will be the most palatable to voters who don’t live in safe Democratic territory. No wonder some vulnerable House Democrats are nervous about how a fight over Medicare for All might affect their re-election prospects.

Nancy Pelosi Expects Public Impeachment Hearings to Start This Month

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Friday that she expects public hearings in the House’s impeachment probe against President Donald Trump to begin later this month.

In a discussion with Bloomberg reporters and editors on Friday, Pelosi said, “I would assume there would be public hearings in November,” but also said that any case investigators bring against the president “has to be ironclad.” The speaker, however, did not commit to a timeline for impeachment proceedings or for when the probe would move out of the current phase of closed-door testimony, saying that depositions would continue as long as they prove to be “productive.”

“I don’t know what the timetable will be,” she said. “The truth will set us free.”

The clandestine nature of the impeachment probe so far has drawn considerable criticism from congressional Republicans, who argue that the testimony from witnesses should be given publicly, rather than behind closed doors. However, those defending the current stage of the probe liken it to a grand jury or special counsel investigation.

“The special counsels in the Nixon and Clinton impeachments conducted their investigations in private and we must initially do the same,” Schiff wrote in a letter to colleagues earlier this month.

There’s also the question of how long the overall process is expected to take. While House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., has said that he would like to see the chamber finish up its impeachment work by the end of the year, Pelosi wouldn’t rule out the possibility of running over into the 2020 election year, noting what she called “a mountain of concerns to be brought up,” as well as the possibility that other leads might come up the course of the investigation.

Pelosi also told Bloomberg that the outcome of this process isn’t a forgone conclusion, saying “we have not made any decisions on if the president will be impeached.”

The remarks came a day after Pelosi banged the gavel on a House vote to pass a resolution codifying the impeachment probe that she announced over a month beforehand. (For more from the author of “Nancy Pelosi Expects Public Impeachment Hearings to Start This Month” please click HERE)

Ex-CIA Director “Grateful” for Deep State’s Role in Taking Down Trump; Pelosi Now Colluding to Change 2020 Results With Impeachment Probe

Steve Scalise: Pelosi Using Impeachment Probe to Influence 2020 Presidential Election

By Breitbart. House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) told reporters Thursday that House Democrat leaders are using the partisan impeachment inquiry to help decide who will be the next president of the United States, suggesting the probe will interfere with the 2020 elections.

While briefing reporters in the wake of the House Democrat’s approval, along party lines, of the impeachment inquiry resolution, Scalise declared:

If you look at where we are at right now, we’re at an important point in history. Clearly, there are people that we serve with that don’t like the results of the 2016 election — that’s their prerogative — but the country next year will be deciding who our president is going to be. It should not be Nancy Pelosi and a small group of people that she selects that get to determine who’s going to be our president.

He went on to say that Democrats are not interested in getting to the bottom of the allegations that triggered the impeachment effort. Instead, their focus is solely on removing President Donald Trump from office and overturning the results of the 2016 elections, Scalise indicated. . .

They don’t really want to get to the truth. They want to remove a sitting president. In fact, the author of the articles of impeachment [Democrat Rep. Al Green from Texas] said, ‘if they don’t impeach the president, he will get re-elected.’ Now that’s not why we have impeachment.

Ex-Acting CIA Boss Expresses Gratitude for ‘Deep State’ Involvement in Impeachment Inquiry

By Fox News. Former Acting CIA Director John McLaughlin indicated on Wednesday that he was grateful for the “deep state’s” role in prompting the impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

CBS reporter Margaret Brennan had noted to McLaughlin that the origin of the impeachment inquiry likely furthered Trump’s concerns about the “deep state”.

“There is something unique you have to agree that now that the impeachment inquiry is underway, sparked by a complaint from someone within the intelligence community, it feeds the president’s concern, an often-used term about a ‘deep state’ being there to take him out,” she said.

“Well, you know, thank God for the ‘deep state’,” McLaughlin responded, provoking laughter and applause. (Read more from “Ex-Acting CIA Boss Expresses Gratitude for ‘Deep State’ Involvement in Impeachment Inquiry” HERE)
