Conservatives Outraged After Facebook Deletes Former Breitbart Editor’s Account

By The Hill. The deletion and subsequent restoration of the Facebook account of a former Breitbart editor sparked outrage from conservatives on Tuesday.

Raheem Kassam‏ tweeted early Tuesday that his account had been deleted. . .

Facebook said it had removed a page that violated its community standards for praise, and then accidentally removed the profiles of that page’s administrators.

It was not clear what page administered by Kassam was removed for violating Facebook’s community standards, or why it specifically was removed. . .

“How come it is only right wing/conservative accounts that get “removed in error” pending “investigations”?” Kassam tweeted after Facebook’s statement on his account was released. “And who watchers the watchers in this regard?” (Read more from “Conservatives Outraged After Facebook Deletes Former Breitbart Editor’s Account” HERE)

James O’Keefe Claims Proof Facebook Censored Conservatives

By Newsmax. James O’Keefe of Project Veritas says a former Facebook employee has proof the social media giant’s practices for limiting harassment and hate speech is designed to censor conservative accounts.

“It’s clear that Facebook is targeting the language of the right,” O’Keefe says in a video published to his site Wednesday. . .

“We fired this person a year ago for breaking multiple employment policies and using her contractor role at Facebook to perform a stunt for Project Veritas,” a [Facebook] spokesperson told The Verge. “Unsurprisingly, the claims she is making validate her agenda and ignore the processes we have in place to ensure Facebook remains a platform to give people a voice, regardless of their political ideology.” (Read more from “James O’Keefe Claims Proof Facebook Censored Conservatives” HERE)

Virginia Governor’s Wife Handed Cotton to Black Students, Made This CRAZY Comment

Virginia Democrat Governor Ralph Northam’s wife allegedly handed raw cotton to black students during a tour of the governor’s mansion last week and told them to imagine being slaves and being forced to pick the cotton.

The Washington Post reported that the allegation came from a Virginia state employee who said that “her eighth-grade daughter was upset during a tour of the historic governor’s residence when first lady Pam Northam handed raw cotton to her and another African American child and asked them to imagine being enslaved and having to pick the crop.”

“The Governor and Mrs. Northam have asked the residents of the Commonwealth to forgive them for their racially insensitive past actions,” said Leah Dozier Walker, the Director of Equity and Engagement at Virginia’s Education Department, in a letter to lawmakers on Monday. “But the actions of Mrs. Northam, just last week, do not lead me to believe that this Governor’s office has taken seriously the harm and hurt they have caused African Americans in Virginia or that they are deserving of our forgiveness.”

The tour, which took place last Thursday, involved a “traditional gathering of about 100 young people who had served as pages during the state Senate session.” . . .

“Mrs. Northam then asked these three pages [the only black pages in attendance] if they could imagine what it must have been like to pick cotton all day,” Walker said in her letter. “I can not for the life of me understand why the first lady would single out the African American pages for this — or — why she would ask them such an insensitive question.” (Read more from “Virginia Governor’s Wife Handed Cotton to Black Students, Made This CRAZY Comment” HERE)

WATCH: Rashida Tlaib Suggests Mark Meadows Is Racist. He Flattens Her.

Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) slammed Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) on Wednesday for suggesting that he was a racist during the House Oversight Committee hearing of former Trump attorney Michael Cohen.

Tlaib’s accusation came after Meadows invited Lynne Patton, a top Trump housing official who is black, to attend the hearing in order to push back on any accusations that Trump was racist.

“Just because someone has a person of color, a black person, working for them does not mean they aren’t racist and … the fact someone would actually use a prop, a black woman in this chamber, in this committee is alone racist in itself,” Tlaib said as she took aim at Meadows.

“Meadows, a Trump ally and head of the conservative Freedom Caucus, immediately demanded a retraction,” The New York Post reported. “Getting emotional, Meadows said his nieces and nephews are people of color and he rejected any notion he’s a racist.”

Illegal Alien Arrested for Beating Baby to Potential Death

By Breitbart. An illegal alien has been arrested and charged after allegedly beating his newborn baby boy to potential death, Texas prosecutors say.

Illegal alien Luis Pacheco, 27, has been accused of beating his two-week-old son in the head, stomach, and groin region, leaving permanent brain damage that is likely to lead to the child’s death, officials said in court.

Initially, Pacheco allegedly told police he called 911 hours after the child could barely breathe from him dropping the newborn baby on his head during a diaper change.

When the baby was rushed to the hospital following the 911 call, Harris County Sheriff’s officers spoke with doctors, who revealed that the child’s head, stomach, and groin injuries were not consistent with the fall that Pacheco had described. Blunt Force Injuries Found on Baby’s Skull, Stomach and Groin

By ABC 13. A 2-week-old boy “will die of his injuries,” a prosecutor told the court during the father’s first appearance on charges he caused horrific blunt force injuries to his son’s skull, stomach and groin area.

Luis Pacheco, 27, is facing child abuse charges after he allegedly told sheriff’s deputies the newborn was injured when he accidentally dropped the baby on a concrete floor during a diaper change. . .

The baby was rushed to the hospital in grave condition. The doctor told investigators Pacheco’s story was not consistent with the injuries. . .

“The officer spoke with the doctor, who stated that the complainant is alive at this time, as he’s being kept alive on life support,” the prosecutor said. “However, he has decreased brain activity. His intestines are not functional and he will die of his injuries.” (Read more from “Blunt Force Injuries Found on Baby’s Skull, Stomach and Groin” HERE)

Trump Travel Ban Ends Almost All Immigration From Terrorist-Sanctioned Countries

By Breibart. President Donald Trump’s travel ban executive order is proving to be one of his most effective pro-American immigration policy initiatives, stopping nearly all legal immigration from countries designated as sponsors of terrorism.

Newly released data from the State Department reveals that Trump’s constitutional travel ban on eight foreign countries, designated as either dangerous or sponsors of terrorism, has warranted big results.

The travel ban, State Department data finds, has reduced legal immigration from the eight foreign countries by about 80 percent, compared to 2016 when the ban had not been implemented yet. Six of the eight countries included in Trump’s travel ban have either sponsored Islamic terrorism in the past or have major issues with terrorism.

In total, more than 37,000 visas were denied in 2018 thanks to the travel ban — including about 15,400 foreign nationals seeking to permanently resettle in the U.S. and 21,645 foreign nationals wanting non-immigrant visas.

Between October 2017 and September 2018 — known as Fiscal Year 2018 — only about 14,600 foreign nationals from Iran, Libya, Syria, Somalia, and Yemen were allowed entry into the U.S. This represents an 80 percent drop in immigration from these five countries, compared to Fiscal Year 2016 when the Obama administration admitted about 72,000 of these nationals in the country. U.S. Denied Tens of Thousands More Visas in 2018 Due to Travel Ban: Data

By Reuters. The U.S. State Department refused more than 37,000 visa applications in 2018 due to the Trump administration’s travel ban, up from less than 1,000 the previous year when the ban had not fully taken effect, according to agency data released on Tuesday.

The United States denies nearly 4 million visa applications a year for a variety of reasons, including for practicing polygamy, abducting children or simply not qualifying for the visa in question. The data released Tuesday was the first comprehensive look at the human impact of Republican President Donald Trump’s ban, imposed shortly after he took office and initially blocked by federal courts.

The ban has especially affected people from Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen, countries where the number of visas issued slid 80 percent in 2018 from 2016, the last year without a travel ban.

Trump’s initial January 2017 executive order banning entry to the United States by citizens of several Muslim-majority countries launched a fierce fight in federal courts over whether the policy amounts to an unlawful “Muslim ban” or is a legal exercise of presidential power. Abortion Survivor: I’m Living Proof Born-Alive Act Is Necessary

By Life Site News. Abortion survivor Melissa Ohden was not surprised that Democrats in the U.S. Senate blocked the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, saying the Dems are willing to sacrifice the lives of people such as her to protect abortion on-demand. . .

“I think the Democrats who voted last night against this bill really showed us that they’re willing to sacrifice lives like mine to keep abortion-on-demand right there,” Ohden stated.

The legislation said that “any health care practitioner present at the time the child is born alive shall exercise the same degree of professional skill, care, and diligence to preserve the life and health of the child as a reasonably diligent and conscientious health care practitioner would render to any other child born alive at the same gestational age.” . . .

Further highlighting the need for the bill was Virginia Governor Ralph Northam’s casual defense in comments last month of leaving a newborn child to die after the child survived a failed abortion should that be the decision established between parents and doctors.

The big abortion industry had lied constantly about the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, the bill’s author Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) told Fox News Monday, showing how desperate abortion activists are about preserving abortion. Senate Rejects “Born-Alive” Bill

By CBS News. The “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act,” a piece of legislation that echoed existing laws and medical practices, had little chance of passing in the Senate on Monday evening. And as predicted, it ultimately failed. . .

In their comments leading up to Monday’s decision on the legislation, Democratic and Republican lawmakers painted starkly different pictures the bill. Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell called it a “straightforward” piece of legislation, while Sen. Tammy Duckworth, a Democrat from Illinois, called the bill a “political stunt.”

The legislation — which fell seven votes short of the 60 it needed to move forward — would have required doctors to provide care to infants who “survive an abortion or attempted abortion.” A similar bill passed in 2002, but the most recent one was different in a key way: It would have imposed fines and potential jail time for doctors who didn’t provide care. State House Passes Bill to Ban Abortions on Babies With Down Syndrome

Following the advancement of multiple pro-life proposals, the Kentucky House voted this week to pass legislation that would ban abortions driven by discrimination against certain characteristics of the preborn child.

Introduced by Republican state Rep. Melinda Gibbons Prunty, House Bill 5 would ban any abortion sought on the basis of the baby’s race, sex, color, national origin, or disability. Abortionists would be required to certify they were unaware of any such motive before aborting. Violators would be guilty of a Class D felony (punishable by 1-5 years in prison), see their medical licenses revoked or suspended, and be potentially liable for civil damages. . .

“There are 15 clauses that protect the sanctity of life and civil rights,” Prunty argued during a lengthy floor debate. “This bill would extend those exact same rights to the unborn, from the moment of conception. Demanding the right to extinguish or eliminate the life of an unborn child, specifically because of their gender, race or possible physical or mental disability, is reminiscent of the evil social philosophy of eugenics.”

“Once again, this legislative body is inserting itself into the physician’s office,” Democrat state Rep. Mary Lou Marzian shot back. “This legislation has also been passed in several states and found unconstitutional. So, I guess I should be thrilled for my ACLU friends, who will be the recipient of over $100,000, I’m sure, of taxpayer dollars.” (Read more from “State House Passes Bill to Ban Abortions on Babies With Down Syndrome” HERE)

Watch: Rep. Shatters Michael Cohen’s Credibility in Congressional Committee

Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, tore into the credibility of former Trump attorney Michael Cohen, who was disbarred this week and will soon be entering federal prison, and the Democrats Wednesday morning during a public hearing before the House Oversight Committee.

“The first announced witnessed for the 116th Congress is a guy who is going to prison in two months for lying to Congress,” Rep. Jordan started.

The House Freedom Caucus member continued, pointing out that the hearing was arranged by infamous Clinton fixer Lanny Davis.

“This is the Michael Cohen hearing, presented by Lanny Davis … the Clintons’ best friend, loyalist, operative. Lanny Davis put this all together.”

In another series of questions, Jordan said that Michael Cohen is lashing out at the president because he wanted a job in the White House but failed to achieve employment inside the administration.

“You said all these bad things about the president there in that last 30 minutes, and yet you worked for him for 10 years? … If it’s that bad, I can see you working for him for 10 days, maybe 10 weeks, maybe even 10 months. But you worked for him for 10 years,” Jordan said.

“You didn’t get a job in the White House. And now you’re behaving just everyone else who’s got fired or didn’t get the job they wanted, like Andy McCabe and James Comey, same kind of selfish motivation …” Jordan added.

Cohen claimed he did not seek a job in the White House, but that claim was immediately struck down by several Trump insiders and media outlets. Donald Trump Jr. added on Twitter that Cohen “begged” to work in the White House:

Several news organizations confirmed that Cohen did indeed seek a White House gig:

Furthermore, in pointing out the hyper-political nature of the hearing, Rep. Jordan also pointed out that CNN published Michael Cohen’s opening statement even before the Oversight Committee received the transcript of his planned remarks.

Beto O’Rourke Reveals He’s ‘Made a Decision’ Ahead of Expected Presidential Run

Former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke said Wednesday that he has made up his mind about his political future, raising expectations that he will be the latest Democrat to jump into the crowded race for the party’s 2020 presidential nomination. . .

The statement was first obtained by The Dallas Morning News, which reported that O’Rourke would not pursue a potential challenge to Sen. John Cornyn, the No. 2 Republican in Congress’ upper chamber. Cornyn responded to the report by tweeting: “Looks like Schumer couldn’t close the deal”, a reference to a recent report that O’Rourke and Schumer had met earlier this month to discuss a potential Senate bid.

O’Rourke made national headlines last year with his strong electoral challenge to Sen. Ted Cruz. O’Rourke was defeated by 2.5 percentage points, a surprisingly close margin in Texas, which has not elected a Democrat to statewide office since 1994.

O’Rourke had said for a week that he planned to make up his mind by the end of February — though how he will announce what he’ll do remains unclear. In addition to challenging Cornyn, O’Rourke also has suggested he could seek the Democrats’ 2020 vice presidential nomination.

While O’Rourke has continued to delay his decision, Democratic activists in states holding early presidential voting contests, including Iowa, Nevada and South Carolina, have formed “Draft Beto” groups that have raised money and tried to line up would-be supporters.

Trump Conveys ‘Great Respect’ for Kim, as North Korean Leader Compares Scene to ‘Fantasy Movie’

Long-awaited nuclear negotiations between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un were underway in Vietnam on Thursday morning, after a whirlwind day on Capitol Hill that threatened to steal the spotlight from the second historic summit between the two leaders.

“I just want to say: I have great respect for Chairman Kim, and I have great respect for his country,” Trump told reporters as he sat at a table across from Kim in Hanoi. “And I believe it will be something — hard to compete with for other countries. It has such potential.” . . .

Kim, for his part, said the “whole world” was watching the talks and suggested that, for some, the image of the two “sitting side by side” must resemble “a fantasy movie.”

Trump added that while reaching a lasting agreement was critical, “speed is not important.” The two leaders then retired to begin their negotiations privately, but were photographed shortly afterwards walking on the Metropole hotel’s pool patio, where they were joined by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and North Korean official Kim Yong Chol.

Trump, Kim and their aides were in Hanoi after long journeys by plane, train and automobile — Trump on Air Force One, Kim in an armored railcar and limousine — for two days of talks addressing perhaps the world’s biggest security challenge: Kim’s nuclear program, which stands on the verge of realistically threatening targets around the planet.
