Educators Must Accept Students Chosen Gender Identity, Leave Parents Out

By The Blaze. Educators in New Jersey must accept the declared gender identity of students and aren’t required to inform their parents of changes in gender identity, according to new rules issued by the New Jersey State Department of Education.

“It’s a big deal for transgender students in New Jersey,” Aaron Potenza, director of programs for Garden State Equality, an advocacy organization for lesbian, gay and transgender people, told USA Today. “This is probably the strongest guidance we’ve seen out of any state.”

State Education Commissioner Lamont Repollet told the news outlet that educators are obligated “to provide a safe and welcoming school environment so all students throughout the state can achieve their full potential.”

He said teachers and other personnel should have “open yet confidential discussions” with transgender students about their chosen name and privacy matters. (Read more from “Educators Must Accept Students Chosen Gender Identity, Leave Parents Out” HERE)

New Jersey Issues New Guidelines for Schools on Transgender Students

By American School and University. The New Jersey Department of Education has issued new guidelines for how schools should follow a 2017 law that reinforces protections for transgender students, including a provision that expressly forbids districts from keeping students out of the bathrooms and locker rooms that match their gender identity.

NJ.com reports that the new rules also settle how schools should handle other hot-button issues, such as what name to call transgender students, whether birth names should be printed on school documents and how much schools should tell parents about student’s gender identity. . .

“New Jersey continues to stand with our LGBTQ community, and that includes the youngest and most vulnerable residents: our children,” New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy says. (Read more from “New Jersey Issues New Guidelines for Schools on Transgender Students” HERE)

Why Does the Kavanaugh Accuser Have Numerous Gofundme Accounts?

By Daily Wire. GoFundMe donations for Christine Blasey Ford have skyrocketed since the she mentioned the campaigns during Thursday’s hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Just two of the 17 accounts on the crowdfunding site relating to Ford have brought in nearly $700,000.

Answering questions concerning the funding for her legal team and travel since the allegations became public, Ford mentioned that she’d be collecting money donated to her from GoFundMe accounts. “I’m aware that there’s been several GoFundMe sites,” she said. “I haven’t had a chance to figure out how to manage those because I’ve never had one.”

One such account dedicated to Ford “jumped from about $179,000 to $305,000 and counting merely 30 minutes later, according to the publicly displayed funds counter,” reported MarketWatch on Thursday.

Those numbers have since spiked further. One account has collected over $475,000 for Ford’s legal fees and another has brought in over $200,000 for the accuser’s “security costs.” (Read more from “Why Does the Kavanaugh Accuser Have Numerous Gofundme Accounts?” HERE)

Prosecutor Who Questioned Christine Ford Says She Wouldn’t Prosecute Brett Kavanaugh

By USA Today. Rachel Mitchell, the Arizona prosecutor who questioned Christine Blasey Ford at Thursday’s Senate Judiciary Committee, privately told GOP senators she would not prosecute Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh based on the evidence she heard, according to the Washington Post.

That detail was spotlighted Friday by Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, whose office sent out a news release Friday referring to Mitchell’s conclusion.

Mitchell was hand-picked to lead the questioning of Ford, who has accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault when both were high school students in the posh suburbs of suburban Maryland. (Read more from “Prosecutor Who Questioned Christine Ford Says She Wouldn’t Prosecute Brett Kavanaugh” HERE)

Check out the Sign Alyssa Milano Brought With Her to the Kavanaugh Hearing

By Daily Wire. While many noticed that actress-turned-left-wing activist Alyssa Milano landed a prime seat for the Kavanaugh-Ford hearing on Thursday so she could display solidarity with Ford and make a “power statement” by “staring down” Kavanaugh, some missed one key detail: the sign she occasionally flashed at the hearing.

Adding to the “circus” feeling of the Kavanaugh confirmation process, Milano was invited to the hearing by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee who sat on the allegations by Ford for weeks before submitting them in the eleventh hour of the proceedings to the FBI. (For that delay, Feinstein came under heavy fire from Republicans Thursday.)

Her presence at the hearing was certainly appreciated by many on the Left who have deemed Kavanaugh guilty despite no corroborating evidence and all named witnesses denying the claims, but not so much from those who felt that the Democrats had already made a mockery of the process:

Alyssa Milano Describes Being in the Room for Ford-Kavanaugh Hearing: “There Was a Lot of Rage”

By Hollywood Reporter. The actress and prominent #MeToo activist, who attended Thursday’s hearing, tells The Hollywood Reporter how the mood shifted from a “feeling of hope” to one of anger during Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh’s Senate testimonies.

Alyssa Milano had a unique vantage point during the riveting Christine Blasey Ford and Judge Brett Kavanaugh testimonies. The actress and #MeToo activist was in the room when the Supreme Court nominee and his sexual assault accuser shared their conflicting stories before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

“I wasn’t there with any political agenda. I was there to support a survivor of sexual assault,” Milano tells The Hollywood Reporter on Friday morning. “As a survivor, it literally is all of our worst nightmares come true. This is exactly the reason why we don’t come forward, or we don’t report. Because of the scrutiny. Because a man’s word will always mean more than our word. And it’s disgusting.” (Read more from “Alyssa Milano Describes Being in the Room for Ford-Kavanaugh Hearing: “There Was a Lot of Rage” HERE)

Wow: Senator Blasts ‘Intergalactic Freak Show’ of Kavanaugh Hearings

At the Senate Judiciary Committee meeting Friday, Sen. John Kennedy, R-La., called the confirmation process for Judge Brett Kavanaugh an “intergalactic freak show.”

“Congress just hit rock-bottom and started to dig,” Kennedy said.

Addressing the unknown individual who leaked Christine Blasey Ford’s name and letter to the press, he said “you should bow your head in shame, in my opinion, and you should hide your head in a bag every day for the rest of your natural life.”

Kennedy closed his remarks by looking at the Democrats and quoting Matthew 16:26: “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?” (For more from the author of “Wow: Senator Blasts ‘Intergalactic Freak Show’ of Kavanaugh Hearings” please click HERE)

Passenger Sues Airline, Claims Crew Didn’t Detain Passenger Who Sexually Assaulted Her on Flight

By Fox News. A 23-year-old woman from California has filed a lawsuit against Delta Air Lines, claiming that they failed to detain a passenger who sexually assaulted her on a flight earlier this year.

Delany Luh, the founder of the fashion brand I Am Plenty, alleges she was assaulted by an inebriated male passenger on a June 16 flight from Chicago to Los Angeles. In a lawsuit filed by Knoxville-based attorney James Friauf, Luh claims the man was served between six and eight alcoholic beverages within the span of only a few hours, the Knoxville News Sentinel reports.

Per the lawsuit, Luh claims the assailant became more “bizarre and harassing” throughout the flight, trying to engage her in conversation about his marriage. At one point, she says he pretended to make a phone call to a fake woman named “Molly” to discuss how Luh wasn’t “being nice” to him, and then made derogatory comments about Luh to the fictional friend for Luh to hear, according to the complaint. . .

Luh says she tried to avoid the man until she eventually fell asleep, only to be “startled awake by an abrupt discomfort in her vaginal area,” and witnessing the man’s hand in her pants “digitally penetrating her vagina.” . . .

Luh was reseated, and believed the airline would contact the authorities regarding her complaint, the News Sentinel reports. Instead, she contends that the airline “allowed Assailant to exit the aircraft without incident or consequence for his abhorrent actions,” per the complaint. Woman Accuses Delta Air Lines of Serving Drunk Passenger Booze, Ignoring Sexual Assault

By Knox News. A 23-year-old fashion designer is suing Delta Air Lines after she says flight attendants continued to ply a drunken passenger with booze and – after he groped her – offered her a $200 voucher for her troubles.

Knoxville attorney James Friauf has filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court on behalf of Delany Luh, the founder of the street wear and fitness fashion label I Am Plenty Apparel, against Delta over the June 16 incident. . .

“During the conversation, (Luh) observed (the man’s) eyes were watery and bloodshot,” Friauf wrote. “The smell of alcohol was noticeably strong on his breath. As assailant spoke, he leaned in close to (Luh), making her feel uncomfortable.

“Despite Assailant’s obviously-inebriated state, Delta employees continuously served Assailant alcohol during the flight,” the lawsuit continued. “Upon information and belief, Delta served Assailant as many as six to eight alcoholic beverages in the course of less than two hours.” (Read more from “Woman Accuses Delta Air Lines of Serving Drunk Passenger Booze, Ignoring Sexual Assault” HERE)

Actor Kevin Spacey Facing New Lawsuit

By Fox News. In a new Los Angeles lawsuit, the John Doe plaintiff — who has worked as a massage therapist for 35 years — says he was attacked by the Oscar-winning actor two years ago, at a private residence in Malibu.

After setting up his massage table, the masseur had asked Spacey “whether he needed to be aware of any problem areas for the massage,” according to the lawsuit, which was reported by Deadline.com.

Spacey insisted on lying on the table face-up, then twice grabbed the masseur’s hand, directing it to his private parts, the lawsuit said.

“What are you doing!” the lawsuit quotes the shocked masseur as demanding. “This is ridiculous. I am a professional. This is what I do for a living. I have a son.” . . .

“This is over,” the masseur says in the lawsuit he repeated. The masseur then “hurriedly grabbed his massage table, leaving behind other materials like the sheets and oil, and fled the residence,” the lawsuit said. (Read more from “Actor Kevin Spacey Facing New Lawsuit” HERE)

Indonesia Earthquake: Dozens Dead in Palu

By BBC News. . .Last month, a series of deadly earthquakes struck the Indonesian island of Lombok, with the biggest, on 5 August, killing more than 460.

Indonesia’s disaster agency said at least 48 people have been killed from the latest quake but that the figure could rise.

“We have not received comprehensive reports yet because communications are cut. Many bodies were found along the shoreline because of the tsunami, but the numbers are still unknown,” Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, a spokesman for the agency, told Reuters.

It is not clear whether the deaths came in the quake or the resulting tsunami.

Palu is home to more than 300,000 people. Rescue operations have started but a minister said that communications had been disrupted and that the runway in the city was damaged, although it was hoped that helicopters would still be able to land. Opinion: Pedophilia Isn’t the Main Problem With Catholic Priests, Homosexuality Is

The editorial board of the New York Times declared it had identified the source of “The Catholic Church’s Unholy Stain.” It names pedophilia and asks: “How have so many pedophiles been allowed into the priesthood?”

The question was purely rhetorical because the board had an answer ready. It cited the usual grounds: “the all-male priesthood and the celibacy imposed on Catholic priests; the elitism, careerism and clericalism of the church hierarchy; the lack of transparency or accountability among bishops.” Most damning is “the power a man of God has over a child.”

Every parent knows instinctively that sexual abuse of the young and vulnerable is an evil that cries out for punishment, swift and severe. Anything less mocks the harm done by abusive priests. Equally inadequate—and blameworthy—are expressions of sympathy for the abused that disguise the elephant in the rectory. The first responsibility is to call things by their right name. . .

To casual readers, duly angered, the Times’ charge sounds about right. More thoughtful ones, however, will hesitate over the word pedophilia. With few exceptions, sexual abuse by priests has been visited overwhelmingly upon pubescent boys, and young men, most often teenagers. This is pederasty, not pedophilia. And pederasty is endemic to gay culture. . .

Without intending to, the Times’ studied determination to ignore homosexual predation as the culprit parallels the Catholic Church’s dilemma. How is the hierarchy to work at “restoring trust, instituting accountability, and eradicating the cancer of sexual abuse” without acknowledging a subject inoculated from judgment by reigning opinion?
