Rep Digs up Obama Dirt, Uses It to Completely Destroy Trump’s Russia Critics

. . .Since nobody in the mainstream media will do the work, Rep. Steve Scalise — the congressman who miraculously survived an attack on his life last year — reminded the American people of exactly what took place between Russia and the United States during the Obama years.

“President @realDonaldTrump went into this meeting with Putin from a position of American strength to combat Russian aggression, but it’s important to remember how Russia was allowed to get to this point,” Scalise tweeted Monday.

. . .

Scalise started with the year 2009, when then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gleefully presented a plastic “reset button” to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to reset relations with Russia and the United States, as if the gesture undid all the wrongs Russia committed against the U.S. and our allies.

Then, there was March 2012. Obama promised then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he would have more “flexibility” on missile defense after being reelected. . .

During a presidential debate in 2012, candidate Mitt Romney called Russia our top geopolitical foe, only to be mocked by Obama — as well as other Democratic leaders and the media who said Romney’s stance was “outdated” and “a throwback to the Cold War.”

Media Will Have a Hard Time Spinning Trump’s Latest Move That Hurts Russia

A new move by the Trump administration is likely to upset Moscow and will be difficult for the media to spin as being friendly toward Putin as the Pentagon has reportedly sent more money to arm Ukraine.

“In a move likely to irk Moscow, the Pentagon has released $200M in new security assistance to Ukraine days after the Trump-Putin meeting, according to US & Ukrainian officials,” CNN reporter Ryan Browne tweeted. “The funds will go toward counter-artillery radars, vehicles, night vision, comms, & medical equipment.”

. . .

“When you actually look at the substance of what this administration has done, not the rhetoric but the substance, this administration has been much tougher on Russia than any in the post-Cold War era,” said Daniel Vajdich, senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, according to NPR.

Trump has pushed sanctions against Russia which has greatly constrained their economy, kicked dozens of Russian diplomats out of the U.S., armed Ukraine, pushed for NATO member nations to increase defense spending, and killed hundreds of Russian mercenaries in Syria. Former DEA Agent Reveals Where the Profits From This Deadly Drug Go

. . .Derek Maltz [a former DEA special agent], who worked with Project Synergy, which tracked the synthetic drug distribution network and arrested over 225 people in 2012, claims that much of the money from the sale of K2 or Spice gets sent to Yemen to fund AQAP, a division of Al Qaeda.

As LiveScience reported in 2017 when covering a review of studies regarding synthetic marijuana, “Some of the reported side effects of synthetic marijuana compounds include convulsions, kidney injury, toxicity to the heart, strokes and anxiety. So far, 20 deaths have been linked to the use of synthetic marijuana compounds, the researchers said.”

Maltz told WTOP, “We saw mass amounts, in the millions of dollars, going through U.S. banks, back to Yemen, We started identifying some very, very suspicious people in Yemen, who were receiving the money and involved in ATM withdrawals in Yemen.”

Maltz added, “You don’t see a million dollars a week, or 30 million dollars a month leaving the United States to go to Yemen. It’s just very abnormal behavior — Yemen is a very poor country. There’s a lot of recruiting of jihadists in that country, and we also seized videos — martyrdom-style, radical terrorist-style videos that are being pushed out on the internet.” (Read more from “Former DEA Agent Reveals Where the Profits From This Deadly Drug Go” HERE)

Watch: People Hate What Obama and Hillary Did on Russia — Here’s The Catch

By The Daily Caller. TheDC’s Amber Athey and Justin Caruso regularly take to the streets of Washington, D.C. to ask the most important questions in America.

This week, we asked people how they felt about President Trump’s plan to “reset” with Russia and how he promised the Russian president more “flexibility” after the next election, except Trump did none of that–Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton did.

There Was Nothing Remotely Treasonous in Trump’s Performance With Putin

By The Hill. The over-the-top rhetoric about Monday’s Trump-Putin meeting in Helsinki quickly reached the point of complete absurdity — from former CIA director John Brennan (who once voted for the Communist Party’s presidential candidate) decrying Trump’s actions as treasonous and worthy of impeachment, to people equating it with Pearl Harbor or Kristallnacht.

To all such people, spare me the pious hyperbolic sanctimony.

Monday’s press conference with Presidents Trump and Putin was not Trump’s best moment, and there were missed opportunities — but nothing even remotely treasonous or worthy of impeachment. . .

On Tuesday, Trump amended his position in a statement to the press that has him affirming his confidence in his intelligence agencies and agreeing with them that the Russians meddled in our elections. We’ll see if that puts the issue to rest.

While we cannot trust Russia, shouldn’t trust Russia, people should step back, take a deep breath and get some perspective. (Read more from “There Was Nothing Remotely Treasonous in Trump’s Performance With Putin” HERE)

Evolutionists Confounded Again: Snakes Unchanged for 100,000,000 Years

Snakes are muscle-noodles that have been biting and thriving for at least 140 million years. And while they’ve gone from squirming alongside dinosaurs to living alongside humans on every continent besides Antartica, one thing has essentially remained the same: the snakes themselves. This seemingly time-resistant state of homeostasis is underscored by the recent discovery of ancient snakes preserved in Late Cretaceous amber.

An international team announced Wednesday in the journal Science Advances that they discovered two snakes trapped within the golden fossilized resin — one of which is considered the oldest known fossilized baby snake. This unique and very tiny snake hatchling, the Xiaophis myanmarensis, has anatomy comparable to living snakes despite its estimated 99 million years of age. With 97 vertebrae and rib bones, it’s most similar to the modern-day Asian Pipe snake, a smooth and glossy invertebrate that boasts a powerful jaw.

The snake’s anatomy is evidence that its general body shape has been conserved for a very long time, study co-author and University of Alberta professor Michael Caldwell, Ph.D. explains to Inverse. . .

These fossilized snakes were found in the Southeast nation of Myanmar; but when they were alive and slithering, their home existed within Laurasia, one of the two mega-continents that emerged when Pangea split. The scientists were able to pinpoint the snake’s ancient origins through the use of uranium-lead dating, which revealed that the amber that encased both snakes is around 99 million-years-old.

The amber itself is novel because of its ability to serve as a spyglass into the past. Encapsulated within it are fragments of the insects and plants that lived alongside the snakes, making it a mini time-capsule of the Mesozoic era. Sanctuary Cities Reward Crime Wave With Voting Rights for Illegals

When Democrats unveiled their 2018 campaign slogan, “For the People,” they weren’t referring to the American citizen. They want a government of, by, and for illegal aliens.

The job of a government is to provide a sanctuary for its citizens so that their life, liberty, and property can be protected from internal and external threats. On the state level, the main focus is internal threats, and on the federal level, the main focus is external threats. That is government in a nutshell. Nothing more, nothing less. Yet that is the one job liberals refuse to prioritize amid their empowerment of government to rule over every aspect of our lives. Now, places like San Francisco and Boston are offering sanctuary to violent foreign criminals and even allowing them to vote in elections, while offering nothing but peril and disenfranchisement to Americans.

Here is just a smattering of avoidable crimes that never would have happened if the feds kept our external border secure and if localities communicated with ICE to protect their internal affairs. While government can’t prevent every atrocity, clearly every crime committed by known criminal aliens is, by definition, an avoidable crime, because they can and should be immediately deported without the increasingly arduous task of landing a criminal conviction – and there should be no magnet to bring them back.

In San Francisco, Orlando Lazo was arrested for raping four women in his car over time as an employee of Lyft. The “rideshare rapist,” who is an illegal alien from Peru, was arrested after police obtained DNA evidence connecting him to sexual assaults in 2013 and several others earlier this year. ICE noted, “The San Francisco County Jail does not honor ICE detainers nor notify ICE about the impending release of aliens in its custody. In doing so, the jail not only provides a refuge for illegal aliens, but it also shields criminal aliens who prey on people in the community.” The bottom line is that he was only able to operate so brazenly and publicly as a rideshare driver because of the guaranteed sanctuary. It’s a shame these women didn’t have the guarantee of sanctuary.

Also last week, Selvin Chocooj, a 32-year-old illegal alien from Guatemala living in sanctuary Prince George’s County, Maryland, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for sexually assaulting a women in his ridesharing car on the way to Capitol Hill.

Last week, Alejandro Alvarez Villegas was arrested in Los Angeles County for attacking his wife with a chain saw in front of their three kids. According to ICE, he was deported 11 times since 2005! According to the LA Times, he was arrested for numerous counts of possession of drugs and DUI. He should immediately have been turned over but was not; sanctuary policies demand that people not be detained or deported for so-called “lower”-level offenses.

Last week, Border Patrol agents arrested two MS-13 members in El Paso, another sanctuary city. According to federal officials, 25-year-old William Amaya-Ortiz had an extensive criminal record in sanctuaries like Denver, yet was still in the country. He had multiple convictions, including assault and … you guessed it … DUI. All avoidable and preventable dangers to the public.

Ernesto Esquivel Garcia, an illegal from Mexico, faces charges of murdering his co-worker and then burning his body. Once again, he was arrested twice for DUI and traffic violations, but was never actually deported because he posted bond with an immigration judge for a voluntary departure order in May instead of a deportation. This is a growing problem in which ICE officially “supervises” 2.3 million illegal aliens, 1 million of which have final deportation orders and hundreds of thousands of others with orders of slightly less severity. Most of them are never monitored, and hundreds of thousands of them have criminal records.

In Mascotte, Florida, a woman was attacked in her own home by an illegal and was almost killed. Her husband woke up and chased the man away. Samuel Hernandez is an illegal alien from Guatemala who recently crossed over the border and claims he was told by the smugglers to break into the home in order to obtain money and pay off his debt. This is what the media refuses to expose about the border surge. Everyone coming over must pay some of the most evil cartels in the world, and even the “better elements” are forced into desperation in which they need to attack Americans in order to pay back the smugglers.

This week, ICE arrested 37 criminal aliens in Middlesex County, New Jersey, a jurisdiction that aspires to be a sanctuary. In an all-too-familiar pattern, 16 of them had been released multiple times by local law enforcement after being apprehended for sexual assaults, burglaries, and drunk driving. Imagine how many of these crimes would be avoided in the first place if all levels of law enforcement apprehended and deported criminal aliens at the first opportunity.

The cases of needless crime and violence by people who should never be here are endless. Just in FY 2017 alone, ICE arrested criminal aliens responsible for more than 80,000 DUI offenses, more than 76,000 dangerous drug offenses, more than 48,000 assault offenses, more than 12,800 burglaries, more than 11,000 weapons offenses, more than 5,600 sexual offenses, more than 2,000 kidnapping offenses, and more than 1,800 homicide offenses.

Now, these same sanctuary jurisdictions full of illegal alien crime are registering non-citizens to vote. San Francisco is allowing illegal aliens to vote in upcoming school board elections. Boston is considering allowing non-citizens to vote in all local elections. Thus, they attract these people through magnets that violate federal law and then want to use them for voting. So said the Lord, “Have you murdered and also inherited?” ~I Kings 21:19

While there is nothing stopping local governments from extending the vote to non-citizens for local elections, federal law requires that they be “conducted independently of voting for a candidate for such Federal offices” so as to deny non-citizens “an opportunity to vote for a candidate for any one or more of such Federal offices (18 U.S.C. §611(a)(3)). Even without officially allowing non-citizens to vote, we have non-citizens voting in our federal elections. Given that so many non-citizens are already registered to vote in federal elections because of motor voter laws and weak verification checks, there is no way localities will actively register non-citizens for local voting but somehow institute robust firewalls against voting in federal elections. Talk about foreign influence of our elections. Who needs the Russians?

Is it any wonder that, according to Gallup, immigration has surged to the top issue of concern to voters?

Rather than promoting things like the Women’s Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment Act, Congress should be almost singularly focused on ending the bogus asylum invasion, mandating expedited deportations, punishing sanctuary cities, cutting off all welfare and magnets, and protecting our franchise. The nonbinding resolution supporting ICE yesterday is meritorious, so long as Congress follows it up with binding action and places it in the budget bill.

Sadly, the American people are caught between one party that is “For the [Illegal] People” and another party whose slogan should be “Nonbinding.” (For more from the author of “Sanctuary Cities Reward Crime Wave With Voting Rights for Illegals” please click HERE)

These Gruesome Anti-Trump T-Shirts Are Circulating Across Facebook

T-shirts that depict the president hanging by a noose made from his signature red tie are being advertised via Facebook and the social-media company’s subsidiary Instagram. . .

An explanation on an Instagram page states: “Political Statement + Satire = Protected by Free Speech. We Donate For Every Shirt to support our women, children and elderly.”

The Instagram page is still active, but the Facebook page has been removed since the Gateway Pundit’s report was published.

A post on Facebook says a portion of each sale goes to charities such as Planned Parenthood and the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights. . .

At a hearing Tuesday on Capitol Hill, Republican House members quizzed representatives of Facebook, YouTube and Twitter about their handling of controversial content, presenting evidence of censorship of conservative voices and asking how they should be held accountable for the content on their sites. Is This the Next U.S. Drug Epidemic?

. . .Considered relatively safe and non-addictive by the general public and many doctors, Xanax, Valium, Ativan and Klonopin have been prescribed to millions of Americans for decades to calm jittery nerves and promote a good night’s sleep.

But the number of people taking the sedatives and the average length of time they’re taking them have shot up since the 1990s, when doctors also started liberally prescribing opioid painkillers.

As a result, some state and federal officials are now warning that excessive prescribing of a class of drugs known as benzodiazepines or “benzos” is putting more people at risk of dependence on the pills and is exacerbating the fatal overdose toll of painkillers and heroin. Some local governments are beginning to restrict benzo prescriptions.

When taken in combination with painkillers or illicit narcotics, benzodiazepines can increase the likelihood of a fatal overdose as much as tenfold, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. On their own, the medications can cause debilitating withdrawal symptoms that last for months or years. . .

“We have this whole infrastructure set up now to prevent overprescribing of opioids and address the need for addiction treatment,” said Dr. Anna Lembke, a researcher and addiction specialist at Stanford University. “We need to start making benzos part of that.” (Read more from “Is This the Next U.S. Drug Epidemic?” HERE)

Trump: I’ll Be Vladimir Putin’s ‘Worst Enemy’ If Us-Russia Relationship ‘Doesn’t Work out’

By CNBC. President Donald Trump vowed Thursday that if his dealings with Russian leader Vladimir Putin don’t “work out, I’ll be the worst enemy he’s ever had.”

Trump made the statement during an interview at the White House with CNBC’s Joe Kernen that will air in full Friday at 6 a.m. ET on “Squawk Box.”

In the same interview, Trump blasted his predecessor, President Barack Obama, for having been a “total patsy” for Russia — while claiming he has been “far tougher on Russia than any president in many, many years.”

“Maybe ever,” Trump added.

But Trump also said he valued the opportunity to improve the United States’ relationship to Russia, even after American intelligence agencies have said that Russia repeatedly tried to interfere in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. GOP Blocks Democrat Attempt to Uncover What Trump Said to Putin in Their Private Meeting

Democrats attempted to pass a motion in an attempt to uncover what President Donald Trump said in his private meeting to Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin. . .

Democrats and other critics of the president were suspicious of what promises Trump might have made in the private one-on-one meeting in Helsinki with the Russian leader.

In an attempt to uncover what was said in the meeting, Democrats hatched a plan to subpoena the interpreter in the meeting. Rep. Adam Schiff (Calif.) the ranking Democratic member of the House Intelligence Committee called for the motion Thursday.

“It is our motion that the interpreter be subpoenaed to come and testify in closed session before our committee,” Schiff said in an open meeting Thursday.

“This may be our last opportunity before we go into an extended recess to vote to subpoena the interpreter and find out if there are any other national security problems that arose from this meeting,” he added.
