Prime Minister: Catholic Hospitals Will Now Be Forced to Perform Abortions

Now that abortion is legal in Ireland, all hospitals, including those with a Catholic ethos, will be required to carry out abortions once the country’s repeal of a constitutional abortion ban goes into effect.

Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadka made the announcement while discussing surgical abortions during a speech to the Irish parliament, just a few weeks after Ireland voted by a large margin (63 percent) to repeal the amendment that had banned abortion in the country for the last 35 years. While many conservatives predicted Ireland’s abortion ban repeal would lead to the loss of other freedoms, it’s somewhat surprising how quickly this has proven to be the case. . .

The Irish government has been drafting legislation to address how abortion law will work now that the ban is overturned. One proposed bill would allow women to get an abortion during the first trimester, and into the early weeks of the second trimester in extreme cases. Legislators are using Ireland’s Protection of Life During Pregnancy Act of 2013 as a guide. This piece of legislation allowed for abortions in extreme medical circumstances, and for individual medical personnel to opt out of giving those abortions.

Varadkar is Ireland’s first openly gay prime minister. President Trump has boasted about their “outstanding relationship” and Time magazine called him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

He did offer a loophole for doctors, nurses, and midwives who want to opt out of performing abortion procedures on conscience grounds, but it’s unclear how that would play out in practice. Regardless, Varadkar was still clear all of Ireland’s medical institutions, no matter their origins or funding, would be required to participate in performing abortions now. BADASS: What This British Special Forces Sergeant Did To Six Taliban Terrorists Is Incredible

By The Daily Wire. Great Britain’s equivalent of the American Navy Seals are the Special Air Service (SAS) fighters, the British Army’s most renowned special forces unit. One SAS sergeant fighting the terrorist Taliban in Afghanistan in January showed why SAS forces rank with the best in the world in a harrowing confrontation with six Taliban fighters in a nearly pitch-black tunnel.

After the SAS fighters had destroyed a Taliban base, six Taliban fighters escaped into an underground cave complex in northern Afghanistan; one of the fighters was a “high-value target.” The series of tunnels were perfect for claustrophobia; less than two feet wide, four feet high, and almost completely dark. Then the 29-year-old sergeant, a veteran who had fought in Iraq, took it upon himself to pursue the Taliban fighters.

The mission had only been partially successful because the base was destroyed, but the SAS were after a “high-value target” and he had escaped into the tunnels. It was pretty clear none of the Afghan commandos was going to go in after him so he volunteered. There wasn’t enough room to use a long-barreled weapon so the Brit used his Glock 9mm pistol and grabbed a claw hammer. He couldn’t see the Taliban but he could hear and smell them. He shot three of them dead one after the other but then his pistol jammed. He fought two more in the dark where the tunnel opened into a larger room that was partially lit by a candle. After he killed those two, he was attacked by another but killed him almost instantly with a single blow.

British special forces soldier killed six Taliban in pitch-black, Viet Cong-style tunnel fight

By Military Times. . .The soldier was part of a joint British and Afghan special forces operation launched against a Taliban base in northern Afghanistan, the Daily Star reported.

The commandos involved in the operation successfully destroyed the base, but several Taliban, including a high-value senior commander, were able to flee into an underground cave complex.

When no Afghan commandos volunteered to enter the tunnels, the SAS soldier took it upon himself to complete the mission. . .

For 30 minutes, he relied on sound, smell and touch to track and kill six terrorists in the pitch-black, suffocating environment. . .

The soldier, an Iraq veteran, called the 30-minute fight the most difficult of his military career. For at least an hour after returning above ground, the solider was unable to speak due to his level of distress. President Trump Just Signed an Executive Order on Family Separation, This Is What It Says

President Trump signed an executive order Wednesday afternoon ending the separation of parents from children who are detained for crossing the border illegally.

“Thank you very much. We’re signing an executive order. I consider it to be a very important executive order. It’s about keeping families together while at the same time being sure that we have a very powerful, very strong border, and border security will be equal if not greater than previously,” Trump said. “We’re going to have strong, very strong borders, but we’re going to keep the families together. I didn’t like the sight or the feeling of families being separated.”

The order does not strip zero tolerance enforcement, meaning individuals who enter the country illegally or claim asylum outside of official ports of entry will still be charged and prosecuted. Family units will be held together in detention facilities.

“It is the policy of this Administration to rigorously enforce our immigration laws. Under our laws, the only legal way for an alien to enter this country is at a designated port of entry at an appropriate time. When an alien enters or attempts to enter the country anywhere else, that alien has committed at least the crime of improper entry and is subject to a fine or imprisonment under section 1325(a) of title 8, United States Code,” the order, titled Affording Congress an Opportunity to Address Family Separation, states.

“This Administration will initiate proceedings to enforce this and other criminal provisions of the INA until and unless Congress directs otherwise. It is also the policy of this Administration to maintain family unity, including by detaining alien families together where appropriate and consistent with law and available resources. It is unfortunate that Congress’s failure to act and court orders have put the Administration in the position of separating alien families to effectively enforce the law,” it continues. McCabe Pleads 5th While Comey and Lynch Don’t Even Come to Senate Hearing

A Senate Judiciary Committee hearing designed to learn more about a federal report on the flawed investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails was stymied when one key witness refused to talk and two others did not even attend.

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who had sought immunity before he would discuss his role in the investigation, refused to testify after it was not granted. Instead, Committee Chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley said Monday that McCabe invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, The Washington Times reported.

Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and former FBI Director James Comey were also invited to testify but did not attend. Grassley cited them both in his comments.

“Mr. Comey’s attorney tells us he is out of the country, although I saw he was in Iowa over the weekend. According to his Twitter feed, he seems to be having a wonderful time,” the Iowa Republican said.

“This is the second time since he was fired that Mr. Comey refused an invitation to testify here voluntarily. He has time for book tours and television interviews, but apparently no time to assist this Committee, which has primary jurisdiction over the Justice Department,” Grassley said.

In reference to Lynch, he said, “The need for transparency does not end when senior officials are fired or quit.”

Last week, the Justice Department’s Inspector General presented its report on the year-long FBI investigation into Clinton’s use of a private server while she was secretary of state. The report, which can be read at the Justice Department’s website, depicted a pervasive culture of bias against President Donald Trump at the FBI and Justice Department.

McCabe’s silence came as no surprise.

“If McCabe is not granted immunity, he will invoke his 5th Amendment privilege,” McCabe’s attorney, Michael Bromwich, had written to the committee. McCabe was fired over leaking material to the media.

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz and FBI Director Christopher Wray did appear before the Committee on Monday.

Wray was asked by Sen. Ted Cruz about a dispute between Comey and McCabe.

McCabe has said Comey approved McCabe’s leaks to the media. Comey has denied that.

“One or the other is not telling the truth. I don’t know which one,” the Texas Republican said.

Wray said he could not answer because the answer could impact an ongoing investigation.

Horowitz later said an investigation is underway into Comey’s actions, including his leaking of private memos and the leaking of other internal details to the media, The Chicago Tribune reported.

Grassley said he wanted to force Comey, Lynch and McCabe to testify but California’s Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the panel, prevented him from issuing subpoenas, according to BizPac Review.

“We changed our rules at the beginning of this Congress to ensure the Chairman and the Ranking Member could compel hearing testimony from important witnesses like these,” Grassley said. “Unfortunately, the Ranking Member refused to agree to compel any of them to be here today. That’s a shame because we should be asking them how all of this happened on their watch.” (For more from the author of “McCabe Pleads 5th While Comey and Lynch Don’t Even Come to Senate Hearing” please click HERE)

Watch: Socialists Harass, Attack DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen While She’s Eating Dinner

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen received an earful from angry demonstrators as she dined Tuesday at a Mexican restaurant in D.C.

According to USA Today, members of the local Democratic Socialists of America chapter showed up to MXDC to confront her over the Trump administration’s schismatic “zero-tolerance” immigration policy.

The group shared a video of the interaction in a Facebook post.

“We’re in downtown DC disrupting DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s dinner at MXDC,” the group wrote. “The irony isn’t lost on us that this is a Mexican restaurant.”

The post claimed Nielsen “has led the program to tear apart (families)” and that Tuesday’s demonstration was “to tell her to put an end to separating families, to step down as head of the department, and that (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) must be abolished.”

Nielsen has faced mounting calls for her resignation in recent days as reports of families being separated by federal officials have outraged social, political and religious leaders across the ideological spectrum.

In what is believed to be the video of Tuesday’s confrontation, protesters can be heard taunting Nielsen and shouting questions in the direction of her table.

“How can you enjoy a Mexican dinner as you’re deporting and imprisoning tens of thousands of people who come here seeking asylum in the United States?” Jesse Rabinowitz asked. “We call on you to end family separation and abolish ICE.”

The protester later told USA Today that Nielsen did not acknowledge the demonstration and everyone involved had already left the restaurant by the time law enforcement arrived. Another video appeared to show Secret Service officers questioning protesters in the area.

A subsequent statement from the group indicated police “attempted to detain several members of MDCDSA to no avail.”

Nielsen left MXDC a short time later, according to a Twitter video posted Tuesday evening.

The secretary’s spokesperson confirmed the disruption in a series of tweets the same night.

“While having a work dinner tonight, the Secretary and her staff heard from a small group of protestors who share her concern with our current immigration laws that have created a crisis on our southern border,” Tyler Q. Houlton wrote.

A member of the left-wing political group said the protest was “nothing compared to the horrors” Nielsen has caused to families impacted by Trump administration policies enforced through the Department of Homeland Security.

“We will not stand by and let Secretary Nielsen dine in peace, while she is directing her employees to tear little girls away from their mothers and crying boys away from their fathers at our borders,” Margaret McLaughlin said. Forgotten Child Detainee Photos From Obama Administration Revealed

They are images of misery, of bureaucratic neglect, of the fate of children who through no fault of their own were brought across the American border by a parent.

They are images that conservative crusader Ben Shapiro reminded America Monday are the legacy of the Obama administration.

“The media is suggesting President Trump is cruelly tearing children out of the arms of their illegal immigrant parents,” Shapiro said Monday, noting that the “media have decided to jump with both feet on the bandwagon.”

But as shown on a video of “The Ben Shapiro Show” broadcast on YouTube, Shapiro noted that since 1997, it has been federal policy to separate children from illegal immigrant parents.

Accommodations for detained children “may be awful, but they were just as awful under President Obama,” Shapiro said as he highlighted scenes of despair and neglect that were first shared in 2014 by Breitbart.

Shapiro further lit into the media in a column published on The Daily Wire.

“The media coverage of this issue has been patently irresponsible. Trump isn’t forcing children away from parents. He’s enforcing the law on the books. The legislature can fix that law at any time. The facilities he’s using are the same facilities Obama used,” he wrote.

Shapiro castigated those who have spread lies about the issue.

“Pretending that this is Japanese internment (as Laura Bush suggested) or the Holocaust (as Gen. Michael Hayden suggested) is ridiculous. This policy ought to be fixed. But lying about it isn’t designed to fix it. It’s designed to prevent a fix by allowing Democrats to play political football with children, believing they’re winning a victory by holding Trump’s feet to the fire with pictures of crying children,” he wrote.

Shapiro then traced the legal precedents that have shaped federal policy about detaining children, noting that the courts gave federal officials a choice.

“The government either had to release whole families, or that the government had to separate parents from children,” he wrote.

Illegal immigrants also have a choice, he said.

“Immigrants who come to points of entry to seek asylum aren’t actually illegally in the country. They’re not arrested. They’re processed through ICE, and their children stay with them,” he said.

” If, however, illegal immigrants cross the border illegally, the Trump administration now treats them as criminals. If they choose deportation, they aren’t separated from their kids. If they choose to apply for asylum, they stay in the country longer than 20 days, and their kids have to be removed by operation of law,” he noted.

As to the facilities themselves, a CNN reporter recently toured the Casa Padre shelter in Brownsville, Texas, and gave it a mixed review.

“The massive shelter retains a warehouse vibe — noisy but highly organized, with scores of staffers leading skeins of boys to various activities,” the CNN report said.

“In recreation rooms, some boys watched a soccer match on TV, some took part in a tai chi class, others played pool or foosball (in one case with a cue ball). Still others sat in classrooms. Because of the crowding, the boys attend school in six-hour morning or afternoon shifts, five days a week. The bedrooms reporters were shown seemed antiseptically clean,” CNN reported.

It did criticize the shelter, noting that in rooms made to hold four beds, a fifth had been added. (For more from the author of “Forgotten Child Detainee Photos From Obama Administration Revealed” please click HERE)

Planned Parenthood to Spend Record $1.5 Million to Sway an Election

Planned Parenthood will be spending a record $1.5 million to sway a gubernatorial election in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf has been a stalwart opponent of pro-life legislation throughout his tenure, opposing even some of the most moderate proposals. He has vetoed bans on dismemberment abortions as well as bans on abortion after 20 weeks. Recently, he said he will veto a bill to protect Down syndrome babies from abortion.

“He is a brick wall against efforts to roll back health care access and [abortion] rights of Pennsylvanians,” said Sari Stevens, director of the state pro-abortion PAC, Tribune Live reports.

The money will be used for door-to-door canvassing, digital advertisements, phone calls and texts. Much of the effort will focus on Philadelphia suburbs to rope more women into voting in the upcoming election. Polling shows that suburban citizens have a favorable opinion of Planned Parenthood. . .

“It’s no surprise that Tom Wolf is setting records for donations taken from special interests,” said Andrew Romeo, spokesman for Wagner. “He is bought and paid for by those filling up his campaign coffers.” (Read more from “Planned Parenthood to Spend Record $1.5 Million to Sway an Election” HERE)

Bombshell: Obama Told Migrants Not to Send Their Kids to Border, or This Would Happen

By The Daily Wire. Former President Barack Obama told Latin American parents in June 2014 not to send their kids to the United States’ Southern Border because his administration would send them back if they made it.

In an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, Obama warned about the dangers of traveling through Central America to reach the U.S. border.

“Our message absolutely is don’t send your children unaccompanied, on trains or through a bunch of smugglers,” Obama said. “We don’t even know how many of these kids don’t make it, and may have been waylaid into sex trafficking or killed because they fell off a train.”

Dem. Senator Avoids Saying Whether She Protested Obama’s Detention Centers

By The Daily Caller. Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin avoided answering whether or not she had protested against President Obama’s immigration detention tactics during an appearance on CNN with Brooke Baldwin on Wednesday afternoon.

“You know, on this issue that we get into a moment where we’re making progress and then when it stalls we turn around,” Sen. Baldwin stated. “I think we all need to continue to be focused on it and press it through.”

“The American people need confidence we can solve problems. Nobody believes that we have an immigration system that works,” she went on to say.

The President signed an executive order ending the policy of separating parents from their children when they are apprehended illegally trying to enter the country on Wednesday. Many are pointing out that this is actually an Obama era policy, even though the current president has received a lot of heat for it. (Read more from “Dem. Crowder’s Latest ‘Change My Mind’ Features Shocking Story of Legal Immigrant Fearful of Illegal Alien Crime

In the latest video in CRTV host Steven Crowder’s popular “Change My Mind” series, Crowder takes on border security, asking people to sit down for a conversation and change his mind about immigration reform and building a border wall.

“We didn’t get many sit-down interviews in this one; we got a lot of drive-by yellings,” he says, including one person telling him to “build the wall with your a**.”

But one individual who sat down with Crowder had an amazing story to tell. She says she is a Mexican-American immigrant, and while she told him she doesn’t support the wall, she did explain her fear of illegal immigrants committing crimes in her neighborhood. Her face was blurred for her safety.

“I know a lot of people that are, like, um, are criminals!” she said, adding that they haven’t been deported. She even asked Crowder how she can report these people to the authorities.

Crowder spoke with her further off-camera. “It breaks your heart, it really does,” he says. “Keep in mind, this lady was a legal immigrant subdued into fear by illegal immigrants in her neighborhood.”

Crowder says her story shows how the liberal narrative on sanctuary cities can hurt people.

“The fake victim culture creates real victims, usually the ones following the rules,” Crowder says. (For more from the author of “Crowder’s Latest ‘Change My Mind’ Features Shocking Story of Legal Immigrant Fearful of Illegal Alien Crime” please click HERE)

Clinton Emails: What the IG Report Refuses to Admit

Despite the sprawl of Justice Department inspector general Michael Horowitz’s 568-page report on the Clinton-emails investigation, there is precious little discussion of the most important issue: The Justice Department and FBI’s rationale for declining to prosecute Hillary Clinton. I believe this is intentional. The inspector general’s message is: “Despite pervasive political bias and investigative irregularities, which I have comprehensively documented, rest assured that nothing too terrible happened here.” . . .

In explaining themselves to the IG, Obama Justice Department and FBI officials contended that the make-or-break issue in the case was whether they could prove mens rea — criminal state of mind. In this instance, that involved former secretary of state Clinton’s knowledge and intent regarding the unauthorized transmission and retention of classified information. Investigators say it dawned on them at a very early stage that they could not. Hence, they urge, their decisions to allow the election calendar to impose a time limit on the investigation, to limit the amount of evidence they considered, to be less than aggressive in obtaining evidence, and to draft an exoneration of Clinton months before interviewing her (and other key witnesses), were entirely reasonable. . .

A comprehensive critique of the investigators’ approach would have described the evidence they chose not to weigh. That would have been consistent with other parts of the report, in which Horowitz dilates on the minutiae of investigative techniques the agents and prosecutors eschewed.

A detailed description of the grossly improper communications system Clinton established would have illustrated that she knew full well the risk she was running. A large percentage of the secretary of state’s job involves classified matters. We are not talking merely about the exchange of documents marked classified but, more commonly, constant deliberations about sensitive intelligence in classified documents, briefings, and conversations. Clinton’s willful concoction of a home-brew communications network — not a harried official’s occasional, exigent use of private email for official business, but her rogue institution of a private, non-government infrastructure for the systematic conduct of State Department business — made the non-secure transmission and storage of classified information inevitable.

Horowitz’s fleeting conclusion that the decision not to charge Clinton was rational and not necessarily motivated by political considerations hinges on the assumption that the intent evidence truly was as sparse as the FBI and Justice Department described it. Of course the decision to decline prosecution was defensible, if not incontestable, if one accepts that false premise. And Horowitz does not just accept the premise; he treats it as a background assumption, writing as if there’s no other conceivable way to look at the case. (Read more from “Clinton Emails: What the IG Report Refuses to Admit” HERE)
