Roseanne Canceled After ‘Racist’ Tweet

By Chicago Tribune. ABC canceled its hit reboot of “Roseanne” on Tuesday following star Roseanne Barr’s racist tweet that referred to former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett as a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and the “Planet of the Apes.”

ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said the comment “is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values.” Barr apologized and deleted her Monday-night tweet, calling it a “bad joke,” but the damage had already been done.

Late Tuesday, Barr tweeted a second apology to the writers and co-stars of the show and urging people not to feel sorry for her. She also highlighted supporters’ tweets that criticized ABC and two of its personalities, Joy Behar and Keith Olbermann.

She also retweeted a meme that juxtaposed shots of President Donald Trump next to orangutans, and an image of Jarrett next to a picture of a “Planet of the Apes” actress.

‘Roseanne’ Canceled by ABC

By Deadline Hollywood. ABC has abruptly canceled Roseanne Barr’s hit comedy series revival following a morning in which the star launched a tirade of racist and anti-semitic tweets.

“Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey just announced. . .

Barr’s family sitcom – the biggest success story of the 2017-18 TV season – had been picked up for a second season after only one episode, which clocked record ratings. Roseanne was the highest-rated and most watched freshman series of the 2017-18 season and ranked No. 2 overall among all entertainment programs in total viewers (17.82 million in Live+7) and in the adults 18-49 demographic (5.0 rating). Dem Lawmakers Move to Restrict Christians’ Right to Oppose Homosexuality

A new bill being proposed by Democrats would amend the Religious Freedom Restoration Act from “being used to justify discrimination against people, including gay, lesbian and transgender citizens,” The Washington Post reports, leading to fears that religious organizations could be restricted from opposing homosexuality.

The new law would be called the Do No Harm Act, and its purported aim is to amend the 25-year-old RFRA so that religious injunctions on homosexuality could not be considered under it.

“The Religious Freedom Restoration Act, commonly referred to as RFRA, was popular among lawmakers in both parties when it was enacted in 1993. Initially, it was usually referenced in cases involving practitioners of minority religions, such as Sikhs and Muslims seeking the right to wear their religious headgear in their driver’s license photos,” The Post reported last Tuesday. . .

The bill is unlikely to pass, given that the GOP controls the House, Senate and 1600 Pennsylvania, but it gives a disturbing glimpse into how the Democrats plan to attack the First Amendment and religion in the courts. . .

At least speaking as a Christian, the Bible is fairly clear on homosexuality and transgender issues. Whether or not you yourself as a believer choose to follow those strictures is your own choice, but there’s no denying that they are in there and they’re constitutionally-protected. State Dept. Asks Judge for 45 Years to Review Fake Dossier Docs

. . .The Washington Times reported in March on a book written by two liberal authors — Yahoo News reporter Michael Isikoff and Mother Jones magazine founder David Corn, who have themselves been implicated in the formation of the dossier — titled “Russian Roulette,” which delved deep into the Trump/Russia collusion conspiracy theory.

That book alleged that a former top State Department official at the time, Victoria Nuland, granted clearance and gave the green light for an FBI agent to meet with dossier author Christopher Steele in Rome in July 2016. This is believed to have been the start of the FBI/Steele relationship in terms of the collection of unverified anti-Trump memos.

That book seemed to confirm suspicions that Nuland, and other State Department officials in her orbit as well, were involved in the effort to prevent then-candidate Trump from winning the 2016 election, or hamstring his administration and lead to his impeachment if he succeeded in taking office.

Those suspicions led to the filing of a Freedom of Information Act request with the State Department by the group Citizens United in October 2017. The FOIA request seeks “All e-mails sent and received” by Nuland between March 1, 2016 and January 25, 2017, as well as telephone message slips and call logs — a request that has largely been ignored by the department since that time.

The request has since transformed into a lawsuit, and a federal judge has ordered the State Department to produce the documents requested by Citizens United, but a recent filing revealed that the government bureaucrats are dragging their feet at such a slow rate that they literally asked for several decades worth of time to comply with the requests.

According to a Joint Status Report filed in the case on May 23, attorneys for the State Department complained that some 104,629 documents could be considered “potentially responsive” to the request, and even if some were excluded using certain keywords, they’d still need to sift through roughly 95,000 documents. Starbucks’ ‘Everyone Invited’ Policy Floods Stores With Homeless, Used Needles

By Conservative Tribune. After a Starbucks manager in Philadelphia screwed up big league and had two men arrested while they were waiting for a friend because they wanted to use the bathroom without making a purchase, the Seattle coffee giant has decided the best way to rectify this is to turn the restaurant’s bathrooms into public lavatories, free for everyone. . .

Other people were probably more adept at guessing what the problems created by this might be. And, as it turns out, the Wall Street Journal managed to chronicle some of the issues — including drug needles, drug needles, and even more drug needles. . .

“Drug use wasn’t happening in the bathroom every day, but it was definitely something that was happening once a week. The cops were called a lot,” said Darrion Sjoquist, a 21-year-old former barista who worked in one of the chain’s Seattle stores two years ago.

He describes getting pricked by a needle once while taking out the trash. At the time, it was bad enough that other Seattle Starbucks employees “asked Starbucks to install Sharps containers — the kind of locked boxes found in doctors’ offices — in the bathrooms, to encourage drug users to properly dispose of their needles.”

While drug use was the biggest problem for employees, “defecation outside the toilets” was also an issue. (Read more from “Starbucks’ ‘Everyone Invited’ Policy Floods Stores With Homeless, Used Needles” HERE)

As Starbucks Closes for Bias Training, Black-Owned Coffee Shops Open Their Doors Wider

By NBC News. In nearly a decade of owning coffee shops in the city, Blew Kind has learned the rhythms of East Kensington, her working-class neighborhood that has felt the strain of the opioid crisis and the pull of gentrification.

Once in a while, people come into her business, Franny Lou’s Porch, just to use the bathroom, or they sit down without ordering anything. Kind, 30, offers them water and allows them to linger. . .

The welcoming vibe at Franny Lou’s, where lattes are named after historic leaders of color, presents a stark contrast to the incident that unfolded in a Starbucks a few miles away last month, when two black men were arrested after a white manager called police on them as they waited for a business associate.

The arrests spurred protests against Starbucks and the Philadelphia police, as well as calls for the city’s coffee drinkers to support small, black-owned coffee shops instead. Franny Lou’s customers shared stories on social media about how Kind offered a “safe space”; one patron left a handwritten note: “I’d rather give my coins to Blew & crew than racist Starbucks.”

Now, as Starbucks plans to close more than 8,000 locations across the country on Tuesday afternoon for “racial-bias education” for the staff — which could cost the Seattle-based coffee chain an estimated $12 million in revenue — owners of small coffee shops from Philadelphia to Sacramento, California, see both a financial opportunity and a chance to emphasize their value to the community. On the same day, Kind and other black owners of Philadelphia coffee shops will take part in a roundtable discussion at Amalgam Comics & Coffeehouse to promote inclusivity and racial justice. Bakery Fires Employees After Refusing to Serve Black Woman After Hours

A Portland, Ore., bakery caved to a disgruntled customer’s allegations of racism and fired two employees after they wouldn’t serve a customer because the shop was closed.

Back to Eden Bakery sent multiple apologies and public statements admitting it’s racist because it refused to serve a black woman who entered the shop after hours and asked to buy a pastry despite that the shop had closed.

The incident occurred in early May and is now circulating in the news, garnering a strong public response on Facebook and social media. A woman named only as “Lillian” entered the bakery at 9:06 p.m. after the shop had already closed, according to the bakeshop’s Facebook post about the event. Confusion arose because the shop was unusually busy for the late hour and there were still a few customers in line who the shop agreed to serve but who’d been informed the shop was officially closed. The lighted “Open” sign had been turned off.

After the bakeshop employees informed Lillian that they were officially closed and they could serve no more customers, Lillian video recorded the experience and claimed the bakery was racist because it served the two white women who had arrived at the shop earlier, but refused to serve her.

In a public statement of apology, bakery co-owner and general manager John Blomgren described the event as “absolutely egregious” and stated the shop had fired the two employees who had informed Lillian they could not serve her because the shop was closed. “We are doing business in a gentrified neighborhood in a racist city within a racist state of a racist country,” Blomgren wrote in the Facebook post, noting the incident reveals the shop has more work to do to dismantle racism. Transgender Prisoners Are Now Housed Based on ‘Identity’

Transgender prisoners in Connecticut can now live with other inmates according to their gender identity rather than their biological sex, marking a departure from federal law and other state laws mandating that prisoners are housed according to biology.

The change comes after Connecticut authorities held a teen prisoner in an adult women’s prison because its policies regarding transgender housing was uncertain, according to Democratic Gov. Dannel Malloy’s criminal justice undersecretary Mike Lawlor, Newsweek reported.

“It sets as the presumptive standard that transgender women are housed with women and transgender men are housed with men, which is in stark contrast to laws in other states and at the federal level,” GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) director Jennifer Levi told Newsweek, applauding the law.

Connecticut has already begun allowing transgender prisoners to be housed with members of their preferred sex in an effort to prepare for and smooth the transition to the law’s stipulations set to take effect July 1, 2018.

“They will, of course, have to continue to train prison officials to ensure compliance with the law given pervasive misunderstandings about transgender people’s lives,” Levi added, noting that prison guards will have to respect the gender identity choices of their prisoners who are suffering from dysphoria. Trump’s Unexpected Response After Dems Falsely Accuse Him of Separating Illegal Families

Selective moral outrage was at peak hysteria over the weekend after it was reported 1,500 unaccompanied illegal alien children were missing and disturbing photos of supposed ‘migrant’ children were floated throughout the internet.

Liberals seethed over images of children locked in “cages” and called out the Trump administration for it’s inhumane treatment of the innocent, only there was one problem … the photos were taken under Obama’s term.

While blue-check Liberals were beginning to understand that they had been duped and tweets like the one above started to disappear, others who weren’t yet in on the game kept their vitriol going and it made for hilarious Twitter mockery. . .

Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump was on it, but his response was unexpectedly mild given the epic crow-eating by Dems going on in every corner of social media. We honestly expected a bit more gloating after the liberals were shamed so brutally.

Could POTUS be getting more of a Teflon coat or is he just numb to the disgraceful behavior of Dems by now?

Feds Want to ‘Program’ Genes to Stop Flu, Other Viruses

The federal government is launching a research effort that will look for ways to program genetic codes to protect people, especially military service members and first responders, from the flu, other pathogens and more, explains a report in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin. . .

“Inspired by recent advances in understanding of when and how genes express their traits, DARPA’s new … program will explore ways to better protect against biological, chemical, or radiological threats by temporarily and reversibly tuning gene expression to bolster the body’s defenses against – or directly neutralize – a given threat.”

The general population would be helped, but service members and first responders would especially benefit.

“Pathogens with pandemic potential, toxic chemicals, and radioactive materials can all quickly and powerfully overwhelm the body’s innate defenses,” the federal agency said. “And though significant public and private investment has been focused on the development of traditional medical countermeasures such as drugs, vaccines, and biologics to guard against the worst effects of these health threats, current countermeasures are often limited in their effectiveness and availability during emergencies.”

The new technologies, as envisioned, “would provide an alternative that preserves the genetic code exactly as it is and only temporarily modulates gene activity via the epigenome and transcriptome, which are the cellular messages that carry out DNA’s genetic instructions inside cells.” (Read more from “Feds Want to ‘Program’ Genes to Stop Flu, Other Viruses” HERE)

Half Human – Half Chicken Abomination Created

A team of stem cell researchers have done the seemingly impossible and successfully combined artificial human cells with the embryo of a chicken in a shock new experiment aimed at trying to better understand developing life.

Until now, scientists have been unable to answer how certain cells in a developing embryo decide to become muscles or limbs, while others become bones and nerves.

But now researchers led by Dr Ali Brivanlou, from Rockefeller University in New York, have achieved the unimaginable in a shock experiment.

By grafting petri dish-grown human cells onto the embryo of a chicken the scientists were for the first time ever able to observe how cells [organize] themselves. . .

In may ways the study mirrored the discovery of organiser cells in 1924, when a duo of German scientists transplanted cells from one salamander onto the embryo of another. (Read more from “Half Human – Half Chicken Abomination Created” HERE)

Shocking Reveal on $50 Million Obama Netflix Deal

The Netflix executive who brokered the recent $50 million deal for Barack and Michelle Obama was a major campaign contributor to the 44th president.

Byron York, reporting for the New York Post, cited a source who said Ted Sarandos, the streaming giant’s creative content chief who oversees an $8 billion budget, bundled, along with his wife, nearly $600,000 in contributions to Obama from their friends and associates during the 2012 presidential campaign.

Last week, the Obamas signed a creative production deal with Netflix that could be valued at more than $50 million, according to an entertainment industry source. . .

The sequence of events – seen by some as an unethical quid pro quo and others as a mere coincidental benefit of ongoing professional relationships – is the kind of wealth-building spotlighted by investigative reporter Peter Schweizer in his books “Clinton Cash” and “Secret Empires: How Our Politicians Hide Corruption and Enrich Their Families and Friends”. “Clinton Cash” spotlights the enormous wealth built by Bill and Hillary Clinton while Hillary Clinton ran for president and served as secretary of state, including the $145 million from uranium investors donated to the Clinton Foundation and Bill Clinton’s $500,000 speaking fee from a Russian bank tied to the Kremlin before Secretary of State Hillary Clinton helped decide whether to approve the sale to the Russian government of a company that held one-fifth of America’s uranium capacity.

Schweizer’s new book, “Secret Empires,” centers on what he calls “corruption by proxy,” in which family and friends of powerful political figures position themselves as middlemen, creating “previously unimaginable pathways to wealth.” (Read more from “Shocking Reveal on $50 Million Obama Netflix Deal” HERE)
