Debbie Wasserman Schultz: NRA Is a Terrorist Organization

Even though the tactic doesn’t seem to be working for Democrats, Senator Debbie Wasserman Schultz today doubled down on earlier rhetoric calling the National Rifle Association “just shy” of a terrorist organization.

According to her recent interview with the Huffington Post, Wasserman Schultz is no fan of the gun rights organization, and she’s not afraid to show it.

“The NRA is kind of just shy of a terrorist organization,” Schultz told the magazine. “They have done everything they can to perpetuate the culture of violence that we have in our country with the spread of assault weapons across the nation.”

She then attacked recently-appointed NRA President Oliver North’s recent comments that gun rights are facing the strongest opposition to a civil right since the Jim Crow era by suggesting the NRA is actually responsible for mass murder.

“The Jim Crow laws actually resulted in the deaths of people standing up for their rights,” Wasserman Schultz said. “People that are dying as a result of the infection that is the spread of assault weapons thanks to the NRA are being murdered in cold blood without any cessation or interest on the part of the NRA to do anything about it.” (Read more from “Debbie Wasserman Schultz: NRA Is a Terrorist Organization” HERE)

After Cancelling, North Korea Drops Another Damaging Statement About Trump Meeting

By The Blaze. The North Korean regime released a second statement Tuesday evening after pulling out of a meeting with South Korea and threatening to pull the plug on the historic meeting planned with President Trump . . .

A senior North Korean official said that the regime was not interested in “unilaterally” denuclearizing, according to Yonhap News Agency, the largest South Korean news organization.

An English translation of Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-gwan’s statement was released Tuesday.

The statement lauded North Korea’s efforts to seek peace, but added, “prior to the DPRK-U.S. summit, unbridled remarks provoking the other side of dialogue are recklessly made in the U.S. and I am totally disappointed as these constitute extremely unjust behavior.”

“High-ranking officials of the White House and the Department of State including Bolton,” the statement continued, “White House national security adviser, are letting loose the assertions of so-called Libya mode of nuclear abandonment, ‘complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization,’ ‘total decommissioning of nuclear weapons, missiles, biochemical weapons.’ etc., while talking about formula of ‘abandoning nuclear weapons first, compensating afterwards.’” (Read more from “After Cancelling, North Korea Drops Another Damaging Statement About Trump Meeting” HERE)

North Korea Cancels Historic Meeting – Here’s What They Say Set Them off

By The Blaze. After weeks of historic acts of amelioration, North Korea suspended a meeting with South Korean officials planned for Wednesday, and threatened to cut off the meeting with President Trump . . .

According to the North Korean state news agency KCNA, officials were angered by joint military drills between the United States and South Korea.

The summit between North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and President Trump was scheduled for June 12 in Singapore. They were to discuss the possibility of North Korea denuclearizing.

“We are aware of the South Korean media report. The United States will look at what North Korea has said independently, and continue to coordinate closely with our allies,” said White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders about the report.

“We have not heard anything from that government or the government of South Korea to indicate that we would not continue conducting these exercises,” said State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert, “or that we would not continue planning for our meeting between President Trump and Kim Jong Un next month.” (Read more from “North Korea Cancels Historic Meeting – Here’s What They Say Set Them off” HERE)

Michael Avenatti Threatens Daily Caller Reporter for Publishing Public Records on Him

. . .The Daily Caller article seems fairly straightforward and is mostly a fact-based review of public records. The article does, however, cast Avenatti in a bad light because it recounts some of his past failures. It should not surprise you for a minute that someone like Avenatti does not want to be called out for his lack of success.

In response to the article, Avenatti fired off an email to one of its authors this morning. It’s a combination of hilarity and stupid mistakes. The subject line of the email is “Cut It Out.” Mistake number one. (Also, that’s just so silly.)

Aveantti opens the email by saying it was “Off The Record,” but that’s not a unilateral request, and clearly has no impact when sending a blistering, threatening email to a reporter. That’s mistake number two.

He threatens to sue for defamation, but doesn’t specify what he believes was defamatory in the article. He also threatens to seek damages against the reporters personally, and essentially orders the reporter to relay the message to President Trump: “I would tell Mr. Trump to find someone else to fabricate things about me.” (I laughed.)

Report Finds Cases of STDs Reach All-Time High in California

The number of cases of sexually transmitted diseases in California reached a record high last year and officials are particularly concerned by a spike in stillbirths due to congenital syphilis, state health authorities said Monday.

More than 300,000 cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis were reported in 2017, a 45 percent increase from five years ago, according to data released by the California Department of Public Health.

Chlamydia and gonorrhea are most common among people under 30, the report said. Rates of chlamydia are highest among young women, while men account for the majority of syphilis and gonorrhea cases . . .

The figure that caused the greatest alarm for researchers and administrators was 30 stillbirths resulting from congenital syphilis statewide — the highest number reported since 1995, the CDPH said. Los Angeles County alone saw congenital syphilis cases jump from eight in 2013 to 47 last year.

“For California to have a steady increase in congenital syphilis is shameful,” said Dr. Jeffrey Klausner, a professor of medicine at University of California, Los Angeles. He pointed to nations such as Cuba, Thailand and Belarus that have nearly eliminated the life-threatening infection seen in infants. President Trump Boldly Calls for Death Penalty of Cop Killers, Honors Fallen Officers and Their Families

By Bizpac Review. President Trump came out swinging against “anti-police prejudice” and vowed to hold those who commit deadly attacks on our nation’s officers accountable to the highest degree.

“If we want to bring down violent crime then we must stand up for our police,” Trump said at the Peace Officers’ Memorial Service at the Capitol on Tuesday.

“We must confront and condemn anti-police prejudice,” he said.

Trump called for the “end of attacks” on our police. “We’re not going to let bad things happen to our police,” he continued. “We believe criminals who kill our police should get the death penalty. Bring it forth.”

At one point, Trump invited the family of a fallen NYC officer on the stage to join him as he paid the officer, who was murdered in cold-blood just for being an officer, and her grieving family his respects. At National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service, Trump Calls for Death Penalty for Cop Killers

By CBS News. President Trump delivered remarks at the 37th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service at the Capitol on Tuesday where he demanded stronger protections for law enforcement officials and an end to ambush-style attacks of police officers across the country.

“The Trump administration has a policy and it’s very clear: We will protect those who protect us,” the president said in front of the Capitol building . . .

The annual event honors law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, bringing together members of the law enforcement community with families of those who lost their lives in 2017 and years prior. The president delivered a solemn message to young children of officers killed during duty present at the memorial service: “Your moms and dads were among the bravest Americans to ever live.”

“When danger came when darkness fell, when distraction loomed, they did not flinch. They were not afraid. They did not falter,” he said. He added, “Their immortal legacy lives on in each and every one of you. Fact Check: Has Iran’s Military Budget Grown 40% Since the Nuclear Deal?

Trump announced Tuesday that the U.S. would withdraw from the Iran nuclear accord. The deal, signed in July 2015, required Iran to dismantle two-thirds of its centrifuges and give up 95 percent of its enriched uranium. Provisions took effect January 2016.

The Obama administration estimated that the deal would lengthen the “breakout” period – the amount of time it would take for Iran to build a nuclear weapon – from two to three months to about one year. But the agreement included sunset provisions, making it a temporary fix.

The deal provided Iran with sanctions relief estimated at somewhere between $29 billion and $150 billion. The Treasury Department separately paid Iran $1.7 billion in cash to settle a legal claim, although the timing of a prisoner swap led to accusations that the funds doubled as a ransom payment . . .

“In the years since the deal was reached, Iran’s military budget has grown by almost 40 percent, while its economy is doing very badly. After the sanctions were lifted, the dictatorship used its new funds to build nuclear-capable missiles, support terrorism, and cause havoc throughout the Middle East and beyond,” Trump said during the announcement . . .

His statistic may come from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), a Swedish research organization that studies conflict and arms control. Adjusted for inflation, it estimates that Iran spent $14.5 billion on its military in 2017, up from $10.6 billion in 2015 – a 37 percent increase. Muslim Family Rapes, Kills Christian Teen ‘Slave’

By WND. A 17-year-old Christian girl in Pakistan was raped and strangled to death by members of a Muslim family because she didn’t carry out her assigned household chores to their satisfaction, according to a Pakistan-based group.

Citing a report Tuesday by the the private charity Christians in Pakistan, the Christian Post said the murder of Kainat Salamat, daughter of Salamat Masih, occurred last week in Kamonki, Gujranwala district.

The Christian family had given up their daughter to the Muslim family as an indentured servant because of their poverty, a common practice in Pakistan. . .

The Christian Post said the Muslim family tied a rope around the girl’s neck and strangled her despite her father’s pleas.

Christian Teen Raped, Tied down and Murdered in Front of Father by Pakistani Muslim Family

By Christian Post. A 17-year-old Christian girl was murdered in Pakistan after being tied down and strangled to death by a Muslim family before her father’s own eyes, reportedly because she didn’t do the household chores to their satisfaction.

Christians in Pakistan reported on Tuesday that the murder of Kainat Salamat, daughter of Salamat Masih, occurred last week in Kamonki, Gujranwala district.

Masih filed a First Information Report to report the crime on May 6, explaining to police that he arrived to visit his daughter at the home of Muhammad Asif, where she had worked as a domestic helper since age 11.

The father says that he and another relative saw that the Muslim family, Asif, Muhammad Kashif, Muhammad Tariq Pasran, Muhammad Ismael, along with Asif’s wife and another woman, were holding down Kainat’s legs and arms . . .

U.S. Identifies Suspect in Major CIA Leak

The U.S. government has identified a suspect in the leak last year of a large portion of the CIA’s computer hacking arsenal, the cyber tools the agency had used to conduct espionage operations overseas, according to interviews and public documents . . .

Joshua Adam Schulte, who worked for a CIA group that designs computer code to spy on foreign adversaries, is believed to have provided the agency’s top-secret information to WikiLeaks, federal prosecutors acknowledged in a hearing in January. The anti-secrecy group published the code under the label “Vault 7” in March 2017. It was one of the most significant and potentially damaging leaks in the CIA’s history, exposing secret cyber weapons and spying techniques that also might be used against the United States, according to current and former intelligence officials . . .

Federal authorities searched Schulte’s apartment in New York last year and obtained a personal computer equipment, notebooks, and hand-written notes according to a copy of the search warrant reviewed by The Washington Post. But that failed to provide the evidence that prosecutors needed to indict Schulte with illegally giving the information to WikiLeaks.

“Those search warrants haven’t yielded anything that is consistent with [Schulte’s] involvement in that disclosure,” Matthew Laroche, an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York, said at a hearing on Jan. 8, according to a court transcript. N.Y. News Attacks ‘Deplorable’ Ivanka

In its Tuesday cover story, the New York Daily News mercilessly ridiculed Ivanka Trump as “Daddy’s little ghoul” and called the first daughter “seemingly oblivious” because she made an appearance at the new U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem this week.

The Daily News cover featured a photo of Ivanka smiling and pointing her hand toward a wall. In the right corner, the paper included a photo of Palestinians killed at the Gaza border Monday. The cover, which appeared to suggest Ivanka was gleeful about the violence, stated: “Daddy’s Little Ghoul: 55 slaughtered in Gaza, but Ivanka all smiles at Jerusalem embassy unveil.” . . .

The story inside the paper doesn’t actually support the “ghoul” statement on the cover. Fox News reported, “The article is a straight-news story that doesn’t mention Ivanka until the fourth paragraph when it simply names members of the Trump administration who attended the opening.” The editorial page doesn’t include any mention of Ivanka, either . . .

Britt McHenry, a political commentator, told Fox News that the depiction of Ivanka on the Daily News cover is “reprehensible” and the paper labeling Ivanka a “ghoul” shows it lacks “any sort of decency.”

“It’s the same principle at work we saw with Michelle Wolf after the White House Correspondents’ Dinner,” McHenry told Fox. “The message is clear: It’s never OK to denigrate or make fun of women unless they are conservative or vote Republican. Then it’s ‘comedy’ or ‘journalism.’ Not only is the headline bad, but its unethical journalism to superimpose her next to the Gaza protests and mislead readers into thinking she was responsible for it.” (Read more from “N.Y.
