Hawaiian Volcano Erupts Causing Major Evacuations

By CNN. The Kilauea volcano is the youngest and most active on the island of Hawaii, and has been erupting almost continuously since 1983, according to the US Geological Survey. It’s in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, a major tourist attraction.

Aerial shots show the Puu Oo volcanic vent southeast of Kilauea’s caldera churning smoke after the eruption.

“The summit crater hosts an active lava pond and a vigorous gas plume,” the USGS says. “Kīlauea ranks among the world’s most active volcanoes and may even top the list.”

6.9-Magnitude Quake, Eruptions Prompt State of Emergency on Big Island

By Hawaii News. A large, 6.9-magnitude quake jolted Hawaii Island on Friday afternoon, just an hour after another sizable quake, amid an ongoing eruption of Kilauea that’s triggered mandatory evacuations in Leilani Estates, sent lava spewing into streets and threatened homes.

Six fissures — each several hundred yard longs — have been confirmed in the Puna subdivision, officials say.

The extent of the damage isn’t yet known, but officials did say at least two structures were significantly damaged and a number of roads have been covered in lava or severely cracked.

“Everything is still elevated,” said Talmadge Magno, administrator of Hawaii County Civil Defense. “It kind of gets you nervous.”

The 6.9-magnitude quake, which happened about 12:30 p.m., was the largest in Hawaii since 1975 and generated small tsunami waves around the Big Island. Woman Slashes Bus Passenger’s Throats, Asks ‘Allah for Forgiveness’

By WND. “I hope Allah will forgive me,” said Brietta Brown, shortly after she was handcuffed for allegedly slashing the throats of two passengers and attacking the driver of a transit bus . . .

“I’m so sorry, I don’t know what came over me. Please apologize to them for me, will they survive? I hope Allah will forgive me.”

MassLive said Hadley Police Officer Thomas Chabot’s report cites surveillance video from the bus.

Brown was sitting quietly after boarding, behind other passengers, when all of a sudden she took out a knife, unsheathed it, and grabbed a woman “and made a left to right slice to the victim’s neck.”

Police Report Describes Footage of Woman Slashing Hadley Bus Passengers’ Throats

By Mass Live. . .The video shows Brown sitting calmly after boarding the bus. She was seated on the passenger side of the bus behind the victims, who were sitting together. “At no point in time was there any interaction between them prior to the attack,” Chabot wrote.

Brown could be seen on the footage removing the knife from her pocket and unsheathing it. She then grabbed a female “her by the head … and made a left to right slice to the victim’s neck.”

She then attacked the male after he stood up reacting to the assault. She “made multiple slashing motions” and cut him at least once, according to Chabot’s report.

Israeli Device Would Let Pregnant Women Take Ultrasound Scans on Phone

By The Times of Israel. An Israeli startup is in the final stages of developing a revolutionary handheld ultrasound device that will allow pregnant women to check on the health of their baby using only a smartphone.

PulseNmore LTD. says its device can connect to any smartphone, displaying the images on its screen and sending them to the pregnant woman’s personal doctor for examination, Hadashot TV reported Tuesday.

The invention could revolutionize ultrasound tests and the frequency in which expectant mothers check on their unborn child, especially in Israel, where women undergo 6-8 tests on average, according to Prof. Israel Meisner, head of the Obstetric Ultrasound Unit at Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva.

Man Gropes Tourist, Telling Her She ‘Liked It’ Because She’s ‘American.’ He Messed with the Wrong Girl.

While traveling alone in Dublin, Ireland last month, a Colorado woman was harassed and physically assaulted on the street by a man who tauntingly told her she probably “liked it” because she’s an “American.”

Yeah, the assailant messed with the wrong girl. Leanna Carr, 26, happens to be a powerlifter and a strength coach, and when she felt threatened by the man, she reacted by punching him right in the kisser.

Carr was catching a bus to Galway when she felt a man grab her rear end “aggressively and intentionally.” The assaulter was reportedly laughing “hysterically” when she turned around to see who attacked her. “You’re an American, you probably liked it,” he whispered to her. That was enough for Carr to clench her fist and punch the man . . .

Carr posted a photo of her bruised knuckles to Twitter on April 21, explaining the incident. “While walking down the street in Dublin earlier this week, a man grabbed my butt. He proceeded to laugh hysterically and said ‘you’re an American, you probably liked it,'” she captioned the photo. “Apparently traveling solo has made me a better person bc my first reaction was to punch him in the face.”

Amazon Now Removing Christian Organizations

By The Daily Wire. Why would the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a non-profit, public interest law firm that fights for religious freedom, be ejected from AmazonSmile, Amazon’s program which takes a small part of a customer’s purchase and donates it to the nonprofit chosen by the customer?

Because Amazon partially depends on the radical left Southern Poverty Law Center to determine which groups should be eligible for the program, that’s why, according to ADF president Michael Farris. Farris composed a letter to Amazon in which he stated, “If you are going to rely on a discredited partisan organization like the SPLC to determine who is eligible to participate in AmazonSmile, you should disclose that in your policy and to your customers. Amazon Boots Christian Nonprofit from Donations Program Because of SPLC’s ‘Hate List’

By The Federalist. A non-profit, public interest law firm which focuses on religious freedom issues has been booted from AmazonSmile, after the Southern Poverty Law Center deemed the law firm a “hate group.”

In a statement released Thursday, Alliance for Defending Freedom President Michael Farris said the law firm has been excluded from the retail giant’s program, which donates a small portion of purchases to the nonprofit of the customer’s choice. Farris said the firm’s exclusion is the result of Amazon’s reliance upon SPLC, an organization that has long been regarded as a glorified direct-mail scam that profits from hate-mongering.

Utz® Quality Foods, LLC, is voluntarily recalling select expiration dates of some Golden Flake, Good Health, Utz and Weis Brand Tortilla Chip items due to potential contamination of undeclared milk allergen. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products . . .

Man Arrested for Wielding Potato Peeler in Public

A British man was arrested Saturday after he was found walking the streets of Dunfermline, Scotland, with a potato peeler.

Scott Walker, 39, appeared before the Dunfermline Sheriff Court Monday, where he was charged under Criminal Law Act 1995 for carrying “an article which had a blade or which was sharply pointed, namely a potato peeler,” the Dunfermline Press reported.

The man faces up to four years in prison for carrying the kitchen utensil in public without good reason.

Walker’s defense solicitor said in court Monday her client “suffers from significant learning difficulties which have been lifelong.”

It is illegal in the United Kingdom to carry a knife longer than three inches in public “without good reason.” What constitutes a “good reason” to carry a knife is a decision made on a case-by-case basis by the courts. (Read more from “Man Arrested for Wielding Potato Peeler in Public” HERE)

Turns Out, Latest Addition to Mueller’s Team Donated to Hillary’s Presidential Campaign

The latest addition to special counsel Robert Mueller’s team of prosecutors contributed to Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, according to federal campaign records.

Uzo Asonye, an assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, is joining Mueller’s stable of prosecutors to work as local counsel on the case against Paul Manafort, President Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman who has been indicted on money laundering and bank fraud charges.

Asonye worked at the firm O’Melveny & Myers before joining the U.S. attorney’s office in 2010. Asonye donated $900 to Clinton’s presidential campaign from January to April 2008, according to Federal Election Commission records. He has not donated to any other national political campaigns since then . . .

As The Daily Caller News Foundation has reported, none of Mueller’s prosecutors, which number nearly 20 in all, are registered Republicans. As of February, 13 Mueller lawyers were registered Democrats. A public records search shows Asonye has registered to vote as a Democrat. . .

Mueller has removed at least one of his investigators over documented political bias. Peter Strzok, a former deputy chief for the FBI’s counterintelligence division, was kicked off of Mueller’s team after he was found to have exchanged anti-Trump text messages with FBI lawyer Lisa Page. Black Lives Matter Leader Declares You Have to Hate Israel to Not Be Racist, Cites Fake History

Black Lives Matter activist Tamika Mallory claims the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) can’t lead “anti-bias training” because they support Israel and have history of “attacking black people.” There’s only one problem: No such history exists.

Starbucks Coffee came under fire when one of its managers called the police on two black customers who refused to leave the store. As an apology, Starbucks will close 8,000 stores for an afternoon and mandate that all its employees go through “implicit bias” training to make them less racist. They chose the ADL, a Jewish organization, to head up the training. Mallory and others objected to the partnership with ADL, with some claiming the organization is “anti-black.”

Mallory was recently dragged through the coals for attending a speech by known racist and anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan. Similar to Farrakhan, the BLM movement in general views Israel as an “apartheid state” guilty of “genocide.” Further, the ADL has never shown any prejudice against the black community, criticizing only black supremacist organizations like Nation of Islam. In fact, the ADL supports much of the BLM’s platform on police shootings and education equality. . .

Martin Luther “King’s message was about building bridges, bringing people together, and joining forces to fight hate and oppression,” wrote Kenneth Jacobson, deputy national director for the ADL. “Comparing American racism and Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians, by contrast, seems driven by individuals more invested in undermining the Jewish state than in furthering race relations in America or working toward a solution to the conflict the Middle East.” (Read more from “Black Lives Matter Leader Declares You Have to Hate Israel to Not Be Racist, Cites Fake History” HERE)
