Judge Refuses to Charge Father Who Lunged at Former USA Gymnastics Doctor with Contempt of Court

Randall Margraves, who lunged at convicted sexual abuser Larry Nassar on Friday morning and had to be restrained by deputies, will not be punished by the judge with contempt of court, although the judge will have to decide whether he could face criminal assault charges.

Margraves had hurled himself at Nassar after two of Margraves’ daughters, Lauren and Madison, who had been abused by Nassar, read their statements. Judge Janice Cunningham said she would not charge Margraves; she told him she couldn’t understand the pain he felt as he listened to his daughters speak, but she understood wanting to protect his daughters as a father. She added, “It is not acceptable that we combat assault with assault.” (Read more from “Judge Refuses to Charge Father Who Lunged at Former USA Gymnastics Doctor with Contempt of Court” HERE)

U.S. Episcopal Diocese Votes to Stop Using Masculine Pronouns for God

The Episcopal church in the Diocese of Washington, D.C., passed a resolution last week to stop using masculine pronouns for God in future updates to its Book of Common Prayer.

The resolution to stop using “gendered language for God” was passed quickly by delegates to the Diocese’s 123rd Convention.

“If revision of the Book of Common Prayer is authorized, to utilize expansive language for God from the rich sources of feminine, masculine, and non-binary imagery for God found in Scripture and tradition and, when possible, to avoid the use of gendered pronouns for God,” the resolution stated.

“Over the centuries our language and our understanding of God has continued to change and adapt,” the drafters of the resolution stated. The drafters said that referring to God using masculine pronouns is to “limit our understanding of God.” . . . .

But Clergy delegate The Rev. Linda R. Calkins from St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Laytonsville, Maryland, challenged the delegates to go further.

Calkins read from Genesis Chapter 17, in which God tells Abraham “I am El Shaddai.” She said that if Episcopalians “are going to be true to what El Shaddai means, it means God with breasts.” (Read more from “U.S. Episcopal Diocese Votes to Stop Using Masculine Pronouns for God” HERE)

‘Person of Interest’ in Las Vegas Massacre Protests He Is Innocent

On Friday, the man who was named as a person of interest in the Las Vegas massacre told reporters that he was completely innocent, reiterating that he had only briefly met Stephen Paddock, the man accused of shooting hundreds and murdering roughly 60 people.

Speaking at a news conference, Douglas Haig, 55, repeated what he said earlier this week, that he had sold Paddock 720 rounds of ammunition in September. He also revealed he has received death threats since his name was accidentally released in police warrants made public by a Nevada judge on Tuesday.

Haig’s Friday conference was prompted by the recent release of search warrant records filed last fall by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stating that Haig “may have conspired with Stephen Paddock to commit murder with a deadly weapon.” Haig had protested that earlier in the week, when he asserted, “I felt that they were hoping that they could find a connection between myself and Paddock, that would go back showing that I supplied him with most of his ammunition, possibly even some firearms. They’re not gonna find it. I talked to the guy three times.”

Haig, an aerospace engineer, said he has sold ammunition as a hobby for roughly two decades. He said he and Paddock met at a gun show in Phoenix, and that Paddock visited Mr. Haig’s home in Mesa, Arizona, to buy the tracer ammunition. Haig said nothing seemed amiss about the transaction, adding, “He pulled up very well dressed, very well groomed, very polite, respectful. He paid me, put it in his car, went on his way — at no time did he seem suspicious.” Haig said Paddock told him he intended to go to the desert to “put on a light show” with his friends. Haig gave Paddock a box that included his name and address, which ultimately led police to Haig. (Read more from “‘Person of Interest’ in Las Vegas Massacre Protests He Is Innocent” HERE)

Meet the Dog Whose Job Is to Guard Priceless Artwork from Bugs

The Boston Museum of Fine Arts just hired a professional bug sniffer. At least they hope he proves to be one.

The new hire is a puppy named Riley who is a 12-week-old Weimaraner.

Riley’s new job is to sniff out bugs, moths and other critters that could damage valuable art in the museum, The New York Times reported.

“It’s really a trial, pilot project. We don’t know if he’s going to be good at it,” Katie Getchell said. “But it seems like a good idea to try.”

With more than 1 million people passing through the museum every year, bugs can find their way in by hitching a ride on jackets and shoes.

Riley will be adding another level of protection against insects that could pose a long-term threat to the artwork.

Currently, the museum’s pest-control defense includes quarantining new artwork prior to its placement in the galleries.

The nostrils of dogs are reportedly better at detecting scents than any technology created thus far. They’ve been trained to sniff out explosives, cadavers, bed bugs, ants and cancer.

Nicki Luongo, a museum employee, trains police dogs in her spare time and got Riley as a family pet. That’s when the museum began to wonder if the dog could be trained to detect insects.

The plan is plausible, according to the owner of Pepedogs, a dog-training company.

“Every insect we’ve been able to work with, we’ve been able to train dogs to accurately and consistently detect them,” Pepe Peruyero said.

Peruyero’s company has trained dogs to discover sea turtle eggs buried in the sane and to find larvae on golf courses before they hatch and destroy the turf.

Getchell said that if Riley is successful, the museum will share what they learn with other museums and organizations, according to The Times.

Museum visitors, however, shouldn’t expect to see the puppy wandering through the exhibits. He will be doing his work behind the scenes and whenever the museum is closed.

Employees don’t want Riley to distract from the museum, so they are toying with the idea of either opening an Instagram account for the local celebrity or have meet-and-greets for his fans, The Times reported.

“The staff are overwhelmed by the excitement to see and meet him,” Getchell said. “We don’t want to deprive the public of that.” (For more from the author of “Meet the Dog Whose Job Is to Guard Priceless Artwork from Bugs” please click HERE)

U.S. Senator’s Passionate Pro-Life Speech Has Already Garnered 4.3 Million Views

An emotional speech made by Oklahoma Republican Sen. James Lankford about protecting the life of the unborn has received over 4 million views and nearly 100,000 shares on Facebook.

Though posted recently by the pro-life group Live Action, Lankford’s remarks from the Senate floor were made in response to the revelation that Planned Parenthood was allegedly selling aborted babies’ body parts.

The senator contrasted the concern that many have for the treatment of animals, even lab animals, versus the lack of caring for humans, who only need more time to become adults like those listening to his voice.

Lankford recalled seeing footage of animal rights activists holding signs outside of a research facility that read, “It’s not science, it’s violence.”

“Planned Parenthood is using children that are aborted and sending the bodies of those aborted children to research facilities, sometimes for sale, different body parts, to be used in research,” he said.

“These are not mice, these are not lab rats, these are children. Children who have gone through the process of any horrific abortion,” Lankford stated.

He then recounted being in a meeting earlier that day where people spoke passionately about saving Orca whales and stopping horses from being slaughtered.

“But in the middle of all that conversation happening today, there were children still being aborted, with an instrument reaching into a mother, tearing apart a child, but carefully protecting certain organs because those organs would be valuable to sell,” Lankford said.

The Oklahoman went on to discuss how different parts of aborted babies are preserved because they have value to researchers.

“I would tell you,” said Lankford as his voice began to crack, “that child has value. And that every single adult that can hear me right now was once 20 weeks old in the womb. And we can look at each other and understand the difference between that child in the womb and any of us now is time.”

“It doesn’t bring me comfort to know one child is torn apart so maybe they can do research on the child’s organs, so that in some future moment help a different child,” he concluded.

Last week, Lankford spoke in support of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would have essentially banned abortions past 20 weeks.

The bill passed the House, but fell short in the Senate by a vote of 51-46, with Republican Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine joining with Democrats in opposition to the measure.

“There are numerous examples of in-utero surgery of unborn children at 5 months of pregnancy & younger that receive anesthesia… because #TheyFeelPain,” Lankford tweeted.

“Pain-Capable bill isn’t about religion, gov’t control, or anything else,” he added. “This is about humane treatment & #humanrights.” (For more from the author of “U.S. Senator’s Passionate Pro-Life Speech Has Already Garnered 4.3 Million Views” please click HERE)

Chuck Norris Files Lawsuit Against Two Huge Media Companies

Action star Chuck Norris has filed a lawsuit against CBS and Sony Pictures for $30 million, alleging that the companies did not pay him an agreed-upon portion of the profits from “Walker, Texas Ranger,” a 1990s TV show he starred in.

According to the breach-of-contract suit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court by Norris’ Top Kick Productions, CBS agreed to pay the actor a sizable percentage of the profits from the hit TV series, but then failed to do so.

Norris was supposed to get 23 percent “of the profits earned from any, and all, exploitation of ‘Walker,’” the suit reads.

“Instead, CBS and Sony materially breached the contractual duties they owed to Mr. Norris and his company Top Kick,” the lawsuit adds.

“Specifically, the Defendants have consciously sought to market, sell and distribute Walker in ways that are designed to collect significant fees and revenues from the ongoing exploitation of Walker but without having to honor or pay Top Kick, and to instead materially breach the 23 Percent Profit Clause.”

Norris and his legal team are arguing that CBS agreed to distribute the series in part due to Norris’ “success, history, brand and image.”

Moreover, the suit claims that both CBS and Sony used on-demand services — rather than TV and DVD — to avoid having to pay Norris what he is rightfully owed, as reported by Fox News.

Top Kick Productions says both companies’ actions have cost the actor millions of dollars over the years.

“Defendants have rejected, ignored and failed to consider offers from third parties who were willing to pay a premium license fee for ‘Walker,’ because Defendants preferred to self-deal by negotiating special licensing deals, with minimal fees, with their own networks,” the suit reads.

“This has cost Top Kick millions of dollars in past and future license fees.”

All eight seasons of “Walker, Texas Ranger” aired on CBS between 1993 and 2001. The show starred Norris as Texas Ranger Cordell Walker.

Since he appeared in the show, Norris has achieved internet fame among younger generations. He has also had roles in movies like “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” (2004) and “The Expendables 2” (2012).

According to the lawsuit, Norris’ internet fame and movie work have ensured that “Walker” remains popular.

It’s not the first time in recent months Norris has been involved in a lawsuit.

As The Western Journal reported in November, the actor said he was pursuing a suit against several health care companies after his wife, Gena Norris, experienced a rapid deterioration in health following an MRI scan injection.

“I’ve given up my film career to concentrate on Gena, my whole life right now is about keeping her alive,” Norris told Good Health.

“I believe this issue is so important,” he added. (For more from the author of “Chuck Norris Files Lawsuit Against Two Huge Media Companies” please click HERE)

Activists Now Identify as LGBTQQICAPF2K+

Some members of the gay-rights community are adding the letter ‘K,’ for “kink,” to the ever-expanding acronym of identities.

The official acronym is now LGBTQQICAPF2K+ according to the magazine The Gay UK. That stands for “Lesbian,” “Gay,” “Bisexual,” “Transgender,” “Queer,” “Questioning,” “Intersex,” “Curious,” “Asexual,” “Agender,” “Ally,” “Pansexual,” “Polysexual,” “Friends and family,” “Two-spirit” and “Kink.”

The Gay UK said the acronym has been growing since the 90s “out of a need to move away from the limiting ‘gay community’” and to “encompass any community that defines itself as anything but heterosexual or cisgender.”

But other members of the community aren’t on board with “kink.”

Claire Heuchan, a self-described black radical feminist who blogs under the name Sister Outrider, said people with kinks can’t be in the club because they don’t face “any structural or systemic discrimination as a result of those proclivities.” (Read more from “Activists Now Identify as LGBTQQICAPF2K+” HERE)

Rapist Sues State for Not Having ‘Proper’ Islamic Food

An inmate has sued the Oregon Department of Corrections staff for failing to serve halal meals in accordance with his Muslim faith.

Rashid Kambarov, 29, who is serving an eight-year sentence for rape, filed a complaint this week in U.S. District Court in Pendleton.

The Turkish migrant is not a U.S. citizen but is living in the United States legally on a green card. He is currently incarcerated at Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla and is suing the superintendent along with other administrators at the prison, the Oregonian reports.

Betty Bernt, spokeswoman for the Department of Corrections, said the agency accommodates inmates’ requests for religious diets by offering a “meat alternative tray” or a kosher diet prepared in accordance with Jewish law.

Kambarov alleges he is not served halal meat and that vegetarian alternatives have been cross-contaminated with pork. Halal refers to food and drink prepared in accordance with Islamic dietary laws, including beef and chicken that is ritualistically slaughtered in the presence of an imam. 100% of This College Donations Go to Democrats

Since 2009, only two Williams College employees have donated money to Republicans, but Democrats have raked in thousands from faculty and staff members over the same period.

The Williams Record originally reported that faculty and staff at the New England liberal arts college donated a total of $20,325.22 to candidates and committees in federal elections in 2017, with every contribution going to Democrats.

Individual employees’ total contributions in 2017 ranged from $5,264 to $2, averaging $267 per employee. The various donations went to fundraisers and PACs such as MoveOn.org PAC, ActBlue, and Emily’s List.

Campus Reform verified the paper’s findings through the Federal Election Commission’s (FEC) Individual Contributor Search, finding that not only was The Record correct in its assertion, but that only two employees have made political contributions to a right-leaning individual or organization since the FEC began its digital database. James Comey Fires off Unhinged Tweet After FISA Memo Released Showing FBI Corruption

Media was set ablaze after the House Intelligence Committee released their classified FISA memo on Friday morning.

The unclassified memo shows former FBI Director James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Yates and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein misled the FISA court . . .

James Comey attacked Nunes’ memo as “dishonest and misleading” and said it wrecked the House Intel Committee and exposed a classified investigation of an American citizen.

In other words, Comey is angry he and his criminal cabal of crooked cops have been exposed.

We know from the unclassified FISA memo that a FISA warrant would have never been issued to spy on Trump’s camp without Hillary’s phony Russia dossier, according to Andrew McCabe. (Read more from “James Comey Fires off Unhinged Tweet After FISA Memo Released Showing FBI Corruption” HERE)
