Ex-Pharma CEO “Genius” Goes to Jail for Posting $5k Offer for Strand of Hillary’s Hair for DNA Sequencing

By Emily Saul. Pharma cad Martin Shkreli was decreed a “danger to society” Wednesday and jailed by a federal judge following Facebook posts in which the loudmouth said he’d cough up $5,000 per strand of Hillary Clinton’s hair. . .

“On HRC’s book tour, try and grab a hair from her,” he wrote on Sept. 4. “I must confirm the sequences I have. Will pay $5,000 per hair obtained from Hillary Clinton” . . .

Shkreli was convicted of defrauding hedge fund investors in early August, and faces up to 20 years behind bars when sentenced.

In the hours after jurors returned the mixed verdict, he announced on a Facebook livestream that prison–which he called “Club Fed”–wouldn’t be that bad. . .

”F— the government,” Shkreli wrote on Facebook after prosecutors filed a motion asking the judge to revoke his hefty bond. “I will never kiss their ring or snitch. Come at me with your hardest because I haven’t seen anything impressive yet.” (Read more from “Ex-Pharma CEO “Genius” Goes to Jail for Posting $5k Offer for Strand of Hillary’s Hair for DNA Sequencing” HERE)

CEO Convicted of Fraud

By Emily Saul. Prosecutors in Brooklyn federal court mounted an exhaustive five-week case against the 34-year-old former drug-company CEO, accusing him of draining funds from his firm Retrophin to pay off investors of his failed hedge funds,MSMB Capital Management and MSMB Healthcare.

Shkreli — who once bragged about jacking up the price of a life-saving AIDS drug by 5,000 percent, earning him disgust around the world — faces up to 20 years behind bars when he’s sentenced. . .

In his opening statements, the top defense lawyer portrayed Shkreli as a misunderstood yet scintillating genius whose idiosyncrasies — such as wearing the occasional pair of bunny slippers and stethoscope to work — got him booted by close-minded old men. . .

While investors begrudgingly agreed with repetitive characterizations of Shkreli as a “superhuman genius,” he was likened to the Pied Piper and Dustin Hoffman’s autistic savant character in the flick “Rain Man.” They mostly focused on how Shkreli strung them along, losing their money, all the while sending them false statements asserting growth. Democrats: Trump Made DACA Deal With Us, “Amnesty but No Wall”

By Associated Press. The top House and Senate Democrats said Wednesday they had reached agreement with President Donald Trump to protect thousands of younger immigrants from deportation and fund some border security enhancements — not including Trump’s long-sought border wall.

The deal announced by Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi following a White House dinner would enshrine protections for the nearly 800,000 immigrants brought illegally to this country as kids who had benefited from former President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program . . .

Trump ended the program earlier this month and had given Congress six months to come up with a legislative fix before the statuses of the so-called ‘Dreamers’ begin to expire. (Read more from “Democrats: Trump Made DACA Deal With Us, Amnesty but No Wall” HERE)

Trump Disagrees With Dem’s Report of Deal

By Sophie Tatum. Democratic leaders Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Nancy Pelosi say they have “agreed” to a plan with President Donald Trump that would protect hundreds of thousands of young undocumented immigrants, and resolved to iron out a border-security plan “excluding” the US-Mexico border wall, one of Trump’s most memorable campaign promises.

In a statement following their White House dinner with Trump on Wednesday, Schumer and Pelosi said the parties had “agreed to enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall, that’s acceptable to both sides.”

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program had protected nearly 800,000 individuals who were brought to the United States illegally as children from deportation. The Trump administration announced last week it would give Congress six months to pass legislation preserving those provisions before the program was terminated. Whining Hillary Now Joins Soros in Campaign to Destroy Republic, Abolish Electoral College

Hillary Clinton told CNN on Wednesday that it is time to abolish the Electoral College, part of a sweeping interview where the former Democratic nominee sought to explain why she lost the 2016 election.

Clinton, in the interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, displayed her animus for fired FBI Director James Comey, reflected on her love for the people — namely former President Bill Clinton — who helped her get through the crushing loss and blasted the arcane election body that she believes helped Donald Trump win the presidency.

“I think it needs to be eliminated,” Clinton said of the Electoral College. “I’d like to see us move beyond it, yes.”

Clinton won the 2016 popular vote by nearly 3 million votes, a fact she routinely brings up in her new memoir. But Trump won the Electoral College, a body of 538 members who select the president based on the popular vote in each state, meaning the person who gets the most votes nationally doesn’t necessarily win the election. It’s Been 10 Months and Democrats Still Have No Answer to This Question

More than 10 months after the 2016 election, California Democratic Rep. Jackie Speier still has no answer for who the leader of the Democratic Party is.

When asked who her party’s leader is an interview Wednesday afternoon, Speier dodged the question and declined to name a single Democratic leader.

“Who’s the leader of the Democratic Party right now in this country?” asked MSNBC host Craig Melvin.

“Well, good question. I think there are a lot of leaders. What we need to determine over the next, I’d say, six to eight months is who really rises to the top. But there’s a great bench of Democrats who are looking at running for president and we’ll see how many of them get traction,” Speier said. 2001 Interview Shows Trump Praising Courage of Rescue Workers, Promising to Rebuild

Lower Manhattan was still bleeding smoke and ashes in a cloud that turned the sun’s rays into a glaring haze when a man walking though the rubble of Ground Zero, where the World Trade Center had stood just two days before, paused to salute those who were laboring in the shadow of death.

And to vow to rebuild.

A Sept. 13, 2001, interview with President Donald Trump shows Trump focused on the work of digging through the tons of debris to find survivors, but also looking beyond America’s time of tragedy to what would come next.

“It’s like a whole different city and world,” Trump said. “I cannot believe the sight of lower Manhattan without the World Trade Center. Therefore, we have to rebuild. Not necessarily in that form, but we have to rebuild. At least as good and maybe better.”

Trump would later submit a design for a structure similar to the World Trade Center that was passed over in favor of the current Freedom Tower.

In the interview, Trump mused upon the destruction, citing the “thousands and thousands of lives” lost in the terrorist attack that was coordinated with an attack on the Pentagon and and a third attack that was foiled when passengers on United Airlines Flight 93 fought against their captors, leading to a crash in Pennsylvania.

Trump’s focus during the interview was the men doing the hazardous, risky work of combing the debris to retrieve the dead and hopefully find survivors.

“I have hundreds of men inside working right now and we’re bringing down another 125 in a little while. They’ve never done work like this before,” Trump said. “Its terrible.”

“Not only is it devastating, but its very dangerous because every few minutes a whistle would go off and everybody would just run because you have all the buildings around it which are in such a weakened state that people just don’t know,” he said.

“It’s a terrible thing for the workers and it’s a terrible thing for the world, really,” he added.

Trump praised the workers who refused to quit.

“The great thing is when they find somebody that’s alive, like the five firemen they just found a little while ago, so that’s the great thing and that’s what they’re all striving for, but generally speaking that’s not the case,” Trump said.

“It’s a very depressing situation for these folks,” he continued.

On the day Trump was interviewed, there was a report that five firefighters had been pulled from the rubble alive. The report was later proven to be inaccurate.

In reality, the report was based on several rescuers who had been pulled out of the rubble after being trapped there earlier that day.

Trump was asked if he thought there were survivors.

“Its a tough situation, but you can’t give up hope,” he said, citing the report of the five firefighters. “There probably are some more people in there but you can’t give up hope.”

Trump then noted that the rescue teams showed incomparable courage.

“But I’ll tell you what, you really can take heart. There firefighters and policemen and the construction workers equally, the courage they have is unbelievable. They’re working, digging out, and lifting up steel. And above them you have 55-story buildings that are very possibly going to be pouring down on them at any minute and they’re working like nothing’s wrong. They’re amazing.”

Trump was in Manhattan on the day of the attacks, and has said he saw the plume of smoke from the Twin Towers after the attack.

Trump caused a furor as a candidate when he noted that in New Jersey, Muslims perched on rooftops celebrated the attacks. (For more from the author of “2001 Interview Shows Trump Praising Courage of Rescue Workers, Promising to Rebuild” please click HERE)

A Downside to D.C.’s Population Growth? The Growing Number of Rats.

. . .Complaints to the city’s 311 phone line concerning rats are at a four-year high. There have been 3,286 calls this fiscal year, up 64 percent from fiscal year 2015, according to data from the Health Department.

“Even one rat is one rat too many,” said Gerard Brown, program manager for the District Department of Health’s rodent control division and no relation to Nate Brown.

Gerard Brown, who has been killing rats in D.C. for 30 years, said the recent uptick is noticeable.

Rodents cause property damage, chew on electrical wires that can start fires and can spread disease, although that is extremely rare in cities, he said.

The more trash, the more rats, he added. That’s why trash control has become a priority in D.C., where the number of restaurants and bars jumped about 30 percent from 1,729 in 2006 to 2,267 in 2016, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. 15 Marines Injured After Amphibious Assault Vehicle Bursts Into Flames

Five of the 15 Marines injured Wednesday when their amphibious assault vehicle caught fire are in critical condition, Corps officials said.

The Marines are from 1st Battalion, 1st Marines and the 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, said 1st Lt. Paul Gainey, a spokesman for the 1st Marine Division. They were conducting a combat readiness evaluation as part of a training exercise at Camp Pendleton, California, when the AAV burst into flames at 9:33 a.m. local time.

Eight of the Marines were sent to the Burn Center at University of California San Diego Health, where three are listed in critical condition and five are in serious condition, Gainey said in a news release.

Four other Marines were taken to the University of California Irvine Medical Center, where two of them are listed in critical condition and the other two are being treated for “an unknown medical condition,” he said. With IPhone’s New FaceID, Cops Can Unlock Your Phone by Pointing at Your Face—While You’re Cuffed

On Tuesday, the world watched as Apple unveiled their tenth-anniversary special edition iPhone, the iPhone X. While iPhone boasts a newer more secure phone—using its patented new facial recognition system—Internet sleuths were quick to point out the ominous implications behind the new tech.

As RT reports, the iPhone X replaces the iconic “home” button, featured on all previous versions, with a new “TrueDepth camera system.” A little black bar at the top of the phone contains several sensors, cameras, and even a dot projector that all work together to create a mathematical 3D model of the owner’s face.

However, there are some ways this technology can actually be used against you.

Imagine for a moment, you are one of the countless individuals who just filmed a gruesome act of police brutality. Many of those countless individuals, as TFTP has frequently reported, have found themselves subject to unlawful detainment and illegal search and seizure as cops attempt to erase any evidence of their wrongdoing. Now, imagine that the only thing standing in the way of a coverup of an innocent person being killed by police is the password on your phone to protect the video from police deleting it.

A secure phone, at this moment, is the only thing that can protect the documented evidence of criminal behavior. Luckily—for the police—if you have a new iPhone X, all they theoretically need to do is to handcuff you and point it at your face. Now they have access to all of your private information.

Think police won’t try to delete your video? Think again.

Just last week, in an exclusive report, TFTP exposed a case of alleged deleted evidence in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, after a police officer killed a deaf electrical engineer. A security guard said he watched and filmed police kill Josh Cloud—an account which differs greatly from the official story—and he was detained and his video deleted.

Had his phone been locked and had the security guard resisted alleged police pressure to confiscate his phone, evidence of a police murder may still exist. However, if he had an iPhone X, even if he would’ve resisted, they need only point it at his face.

“With the iPhone X, your iPhone is locked until you look at it and it recognizes you. Nothing has ever been more simple, natural and effortless,” Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing said in his keynote speech Tuesday. “This is the future of how we’ll unlock our smartphones and protect our sensitive information.”

However, as many have pointed out, this simplicity is the device’s potential downfall.

This abuse, as Snowden points out, can come in many forms.

While some folks expressed concern that the iPhone X will allow someone to unlock your iPhone while you sleep, Apple directly countered that claim, noting that the feature will only work when the user looks at the device with their eyes open. Schiller also explained that FaceID will recognize a user even when they change their hairstyle, put on glasses, wear a hat or change their appearance in other ways—perhaps when an unconscious person has their eyes pulled open.

The good news, however, is that while this technology has these ominous implications for abuse, it is far more secure than any of the previous devices. According to Schiller, the Touch ID had a false unlock rate of one in 50,000, whereas the new FaceID only had an error rate of one in 1 million.

Apple also has an extensive history of resisting the police state attempts at creating back doors to their technology. Just last year, in a landmark case, Apple refused to help the government break the law and allow for the various spy agencies to monitor iPhone users with a special decryption key for the State.

Had the government successfully forced Apple into unlocking the phone or creating a backdoor to their encryption, experts in the technology field warned that this could be the end of privacy as we know it. For now, however, privacy is still winning—that is, until we see the first case of police unlocking an iPhone X by pointing at a handcuffed person’s face. Planned Parenthood Teams up With Satanists

Missouri has reportedly doubled its abortion capacity this year “thanks to the Satanic Temple and Planned Parenthood,” who have worked in tandem to fight the state’s restrictions on abortion.

With some of the most clearly defined regulations on abortion in the nation, Missouri had managed to lower the number of abortion facilities to a single clinic, but a second Missouri clinic opened its doors recently and two others plan on following soon.

Planned Parenthood has battled against state regulations requiring abortion clinics to meet the same surgical center standards as full hospitals and for their doctors to have hospital privileges, and in April a federal court sided with the abortion giant.

U.S. District Judge Howard Sachs granted a preliminary injunction invalidating requirements for the state’s abortion clinics to meet standards for surgical centers and for their doctors to have hospital privileges, citing a U.S. Supreme Court ruling striking down similar restrictions in Texas, which deemed those laws unnecessary and unconstitutional. Amazon Deletes 1 Star Review of Hillary Clinton’s New Book

Amazon has been monitoring and deleting reviews after Hillary Clinton’s new book was greeted with a torrent of criticism on the day it was released . . .

Reviews of What Happened have been mixed, with some suggesting it Clinton uses it as an opportunity to blame others – such as Bernie Sanders and Vladimir Putin – for her failure, rather than herself. In The New York Times, which supported Clinton’s campaign, Jennifer Senior writes that the book is “a score-settling jubilee”.

The readers on Amazon, meanwhile, are even more divided – but not all of them have read the book. The online retail giant has a “verified purchase” option to signpost whether reviewers have bought a product, and none of the 42 reviewers leaving comments on Tuesday had done so.

Few of the one-star reviews remain on the website, but reports and screengrabs show that reviewers used the space to criticize the former First Lady and spread conspiracy theories about her and Bill Clinton. (Read more from “Amazon Deletes 1 Star Review of Hillary Clinton’s New Book” HERE)
