Alaska Senate Passes Bill to Allow Safe Haven Baby Boxes

The Alaska Senate passed a bill that would allow devices designed to prevent infant abandonment in the state.

The Alaska Senate advanced the bill, which would legalize Safe Haven Baby Boxes, on an 18-2 vote. Sens. Bert Stedman, a Sitka Republican, and Löki Tobin, an Anchorage Democrat, voted no, the Alaska Beacon reported on Tuesday.

Safe Haven Baby Boxes were created to deter parents from abandoning their newborns, potentially leaving them to die. Baby boxes are temperature-controlled incubators often built into exterior walls of fire stations, police stations, and hospitals, and can be accessed from inside. At-risk mothers can safely and legally place their newborns inside. Then, the outside door locks, and mothers have time to get away before an alarm goes off, alerting first responders or hospital staff inside.

The baby is then quickly removed and sent to a hospital for a wellness check. From there, the baby is usually placed into state custody and often quickly adopted.

Alaska has had its Safe Haven law since 2008, which allows for the in-person surrender of newborns up to 21 days old to fire stations, hospitals, and police officers. (Read more from “Alaska Senate Passes Bill to Allow Safe Haven Baby Boxes” HERE)

Rep. Swalwell Suspends Gubernatorial Campaign After Being Accused of Sexual Assault

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) announced that he is suspending his campaign to be the next governor of California, days after he was accused of sexual assault by several women.

In a post on X, Swalwell expressed that he was “deeply sorry for mistakes in judgment” that he had made, while adding that he would “fight the serious, false allegations.”

“I am suspending my campaign for Governor,” Swalwell said. “To my family, staff, friends, and supporters, I am deeply sorry for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past.”

“I will fight the serious, false allegations that have been made — but that’s my fight, not a campaign’s,” Swalwell continued.

Swalwell’s announcement came after a former staffer told the San Francisco Chronicle that the Democratic congressman had allegedly sexually assaulted her on different occasions, once in 2019 and again in 2024, and that he had made attempts to “kiss her” while she worked for him[.] (Read more from “Rep. Trump Hit with ‘Haunting’ Blackmail Theory Explaining His Iran Moves: ‘We’re not joking’

Over the past month, President Donald Trump has dramatically escalated his administration’s war against Iran, culminating with his threat to destroy Iran’s entire civilization earlier this week, but according to Tucker Carlson’s independent media outlet, a “blackmail” operation could potentially be forcing the president’s hand.

The theory was outlined in a Friday morning newsletter from the Tucker Carlson Network, which pointed to a past incident that some have characterized as an attempted effort to blackmail a sitting U.S. president. Specifically, the newsletter cites claims made by political writer Daniel Halper in his 2014 biography “Clinton Inc.,” supported in part by sworn testimony given in 1998 to the congressionally established Office of Independent Counsel.

“Establishment media never reports this, but the Israeli government has a storied history of blackmailing U.S. Presidents,” the newsletter reads. “Perhaps the most jarring example occurred in the 90s, when Israel used recordings of a Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky phone sex session as leverage to pressure Clinton into releasing convicted spy Jonathan Pollard from prison. We’re not joking. That really happened.”

Evidence supporting the allegation that Israel had attempted to use phone recordings of Clinton and Lewinsky as “leverage” first emerged in 1998 after Lewinsky testified before the Office of Independent Counsel about her affair with the sitting president.

During her testimony, Lewinsky said that in early 1997, Clinton had told her “that he suspected a foreign embassy was tapping his telephones, (he did not specify which one),” just one month after then-Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Clinton in the Oval Office. Artemis Crew Returns To Earth After Successful Mission

The Artemis II crew completed their mission Friday and returned to Earth following a historic journey in space.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA’s) Artemis II mission launched at 6:35 p.m. on April 1 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida after a brief hold for final technical checks, including a minor sensor concern that engineers confirmed would not affect the launch. NASA’s Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen carried out final procedures aboard their spacecraft before beginning reentry.

The spacecraft entered Earth’s atmosphere at 7:53 p.m. ET after descending from an altitude of about 400,000 feet and traveling at roughly 30 times the speed of sound. During the descent, ground teams experienced a brief six-minute communications blackout, as expected. The mission concluded with a successful splashdown off the coast of San Diego at 8:07 p.m. ET.

For several minutes, the spacecraft lost contact with Earth because superheated plasma formed around it and blocked radio signals, creating an expected but tense communications blackout. The Orion capsule endured extreme reentry heating as temperatures around its heat shield reached roughly 5,000°F (2,760°C) while it cut through Earth’s atmosphere and its heat shield was designed to absorb and burn away material to protect the crew module.

Artemis II plays a key role in testing NASA’s systems as part of broader efforts to advance future lunar exploration and strengthen U.S. leadership in the space race with China, Reuters reported. The program, which supports plans for regular Moon missions and has cost about $93 billion since 2012, aims to return astronauts to the lunar surface by 2028 for the first time since the Apollo 17 mission in 1972. China Plans to Deliver Air Defense Systems to Iran During Fragile Cease-Fire Deal: Report

China is preparing to deliver new air defense systems to Iran in the next few weeks, according to a report citing sources with knowledge of US intelligence.

The move would be “provocative,” according to CNN, considering China played a major role in brokering the fragile cease-fire deal between Iran and the US earlier this week.

Beijing is working to route shipments through third countries to hide the backroom trade — which involves shoulder-fired anti-air missile systems known as MANPADs, multiple US intelligence sources told CNN.

The weapons — which use heat-seeking guidance to lock onto an aircraft’s engine or exhaust — posed a major threat to the US military during the five-week war, with one nearly taking out a F/A-18 Super Hornet last week.

The F-15 fighter jet that was shot down over Iran last week was targeted by a “handheld shoulder missile, [a] heat-seeking missile,” Trump said Monday, though it’s not clear whether it had been provided by China. Laura Loomer Rats Out ‘Mentally Ill’ Tucker Carlson to Donald Trump: ‘You Are Smearing Him!’

President Donald Trump diehard, far-right activist, Laura Loomer publicly admitted that she has monitored and compiled negative comments about the president to show him, and has done just that with former Fox News star Tucker Carlson’s critiques of the president.

Loomer has positioned herself as a “loyalty enforcer” for the Trump administration, particularly during the ongoing conflict with Iran.

In June 2025, Loomer threatened to screenshot and share comments from anyone “s—- talking Trump” and pass them directly to the White House.

“I’m just going to admit it. I sent the president Tucker Carlson’s clips so he can see the s— that he says about him… and I want that m——– @TuckerCarlson to know that I’m the one who knifed him from the front,” she said on her “Loomer Unleashed” podcast.

Loomer’s actions are part of a broader, public feud with Carlson, whom she has dubbed “Tucker Qatarlson.” (Read more from “Laura Loomer Rats Out ‘Mentally Ill’ Tucker Carlson to Donald Trump: ‘You Are Smearing Him!’” HERE)

‘Praise be to Allah!’ Trump Praises ‘Allah’ Again in Panicked Rant over Iran War

President Donald Trump praised “Allah” – the Arabic word for God – for the second time in recent weeks Saturday morning in a lengthy rant about the current state of the U.S. war against Iran, complaining about media coverage of the conflict and the United States’ failure to achieve its stated war objectives.

“The Fake News Media has lost total credibility, not that they had any to begin with. Because of their massive Trump Derangement Syndrome (Sometimes referred to as TDS!), they love saying that Iran is ‘winning’ when, in fact, everyone knows that they are LOSING, and LOSING BIG!” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.

Swalwell’s Former Female Staffer Drops Bombshell Allegations of Sexual Assault, Exposing Himself: Report

Sexual harassment allegations have been amplified online by Democrat-aligned politicos targeting Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., one of the leading Democratic candidates in California’s gubernatorial race.

Amid repeated denials and cease-and-desist letters sent by Swalwell’s lawyer, one of the alleged victims shared her story publicly for the first time, accusing Swalwell of taking advantage of her while she was intoxicated on multiple occasions, according to a bombshell report published by the San Francisco Chronicle Friday.

The alleged victim’s story also included claims that Swalwell pressured her to send naked pictures of herself and sent sexually explicit photos of his own, pulled out his private parts while driving in a car with her and requested she perform oral sex on him, among other incidents the victim said affected how Swalwell treated her professionally.

The unnamed female accuser, who spoke to the San Francisco Chronicle, reportedly worked for Swalwell for about two years and revealed that he started pursuing her, despite being married, shortly after she was hired as a 21-year-old staffer in his district office.

On multiple occasions, the young staffer recalls blacking out from alcohol consumption, before waking up naked in Swalwell’s hotel bed with signs she had engaged in intercourse. Swalwell allegedly distanced himself after the incident, and their relationship faded, before they reunited when she no longer worked for him when another incident allegedly took place. Iran Holds Huge Victory Parade with Thousands Spilling onto the Streets of Tehran as Ceasefire Falls Apart

Thousands of Iranians have gathered in the streets to commemorate the death of former supreme leader Ali Khamenei as hopes of a ceasefire with the US and Israel began to unravel.

Supporters of Khamenei held portraits of their deceased leader and waved the flags of the Islamic republic as they took part in rallies across the country after he died in the US-Israeli attack on February 28.

The celebration marks a 40-day mourning period – an important rite of passage for Muslims – since the former leader’s death.

A huge gathering took place in the capital, Tehran, where strikes have ceased since a fragile ceasefire came into effect on Tuesday night, as well as the northwest city of Urmia and northeast Gorgan.

But over a day since reaching an 11th hour agreement to halt attacks for two weeks, it looks on the verge of collapse, with major disagreements between the US, Israel and Iran over the terms of a deal. Is This Deported Model the Reason Melania Distanced Herself From Epstein?

On Thursday afternoon, First Lady Melania Trump addressed the nation in a six-minute-long speech.

“The lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein need to end today. The individuals lying about me are devoid of ethical standards, humility, and respect,” she began. She went on to deliver a meandering account, distancing herself from the convicted sex offender.

At 9 p.m. Wednesday, prior to Melania’s speech, an account that appears to belong to Amanda Ungaro, a Brazilian former model who resided in the United States for 23 years prior to being deported by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in June 2025, posted a message to former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“Are you already aware of the situation?” she wrote. “Do you fully understand the extent of the information I possess regarding you and the individuals associated with you? I strongly advise you to consider the seriousness of these matters. Any actions taken against me or attempts to escalate this situation could have significant legal consequences,” Ungaro continued.

“I expect this to be handled with the appropriate level of responsibility and professionalism moving forward.” The post was accompanied by four photos, including what appears to be a young Ungaro holding a baby. [The X Post has since been removed.]
