Trump Reinstates TikTok Just Hours It Went Dark for American Users

TikTok has resumed its U.S. operations after receiving an unexpected boost from President-elect Donald Trump, who reportedly provided “assurances” that helped ease concerns over the app’s future in America. Following months of uncertainty surrounding potential bans and national security concerns, the app was shut down for American users late Saturday night, became unavailable, and was removed from Apple and Google’s app stores. However, sources say Trump’s involvement was pivotal in convincing lawmakers and regulators that the Chinese-owned app could continue its service under strict oversight.

During Trump’s massive pre-Inauguration Day rally on Sunday, the president-elect announced he would bring back access to the app for American users.

“As of today, TikTok is back,” Trump said during his historic rally on the eve of his inauguration.

Earlier in the day, Trump wrote on Truth Social that he would issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period before the law’s prohibitions occur. He said saving the app is necessary to protect the United State’s national security. The president-elect also said there would be no liability for any company that helped keep TikTok being banned before his order.

TikTok Was Barely Banned Two Hours When Disaffected Teen Allegedly Committed Crime Targeting Key Congressman

Police in east-central Wisconsin arrested a male teenager Sunday for allegedly setting fire to a strip mall leasing space for a congressman’s district office over the lawmaker’s position on banning TikTok.

The suspected 19-year-old arsonist from Menasha set fire to the building housing the office of Republican Wisconsin Rep. Glenn Grothman early Sunday morning, the Fond du Lac Police Department (FDLPD) alleged.

Grothman had voted in support of the TikTok ban if its Chinese owner, ByteDance, failed to sell the app, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

FDLPD officers and the City of Fond du Lac Fire Rescue responded to the report of the fire at about 1:02 a.m. and were able to contain the fire until first responders arrived and put it out, the FDLPD said.

FDLPD officers spotted the suspect near the strip mall. The suspect “admitted to starting the fire in response to recent talks of a TikTok ban,” according to the FDLPD’s statement. Trump to Suspend Security Clearances of 51 Intelligence Officials Who Falsely Implied Hunter Biden Laptop Was Russian Fake

President-elect Donald Trump, on Day 1, plans to suspend security clearances of the 51 intelligence officials who claimed reporting tied to Hunter Biden’s laptop had “the classic earmarks” of Russian disinformation ahead of the 2020 election, according to a report.

Trump will repeal the clearances of the so-called “Spies Who Lie” as part of a flurry of executive orders he’s expected to sign on his first day back in the Oval Office, Fox News reported, citing a senior administration official familiar with the matter.

Federal authorities eventually confirmed that the laptop belonging to President Biden’s son was authentic, though the national security experts have said they stand by the 2020 letter they penned over their concerns of disinformation.

The Post’s reporting on the laptop leading up to the election between Biden and Trump included allegations of foreign influence-peddling, drug use and other lurid activities by the first son.

Emails from the device, which was left at a Delaware computer shop, showed that younger Biden introduced his father, then-Vice President Joe Biden, to a top executive at a Ukrainian energy firm where Hunter, 54, sat on the board. Pelosi’s Daughter Rips ‘Lady McBiden,’ Tells Jill Biden to Put On ‘Big Girl Pants’ With Joe

A daughter of ex-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripped into outgoing first lady Jill Biden over the weekend — seemingly comparing her to Shakespeare’s power-hungry, ruthless Lady MacBeth.

The Dem first lady recently took a swipe at Pelosi over the Democratic mutiny against President Biden last summer, and Alexandra Pelosi, the lefty California congresswoman’s daughter, responded by saying her mom is actually one of the few friends Joe Biden has left.

“If I was Lady McBiden, I’d put on my big girl pants, play the long game and think about my husband’s legacy,” Alexandra snipped to Politico on Saturday.

“There aren’t that many people left in America who have something nice to say about Joe Biden, and Nancy Pelosi is one of them,” the younger Pelosi said.

In an interview published last week, Jill, 73, openly questioned her decadeslong friendship with Nancy Pelosi, 84, in light of the Dem revolt against her husband, which the former speaker had her fingerprints all over. ‘Good Riddance’: AG Merrick Garland Roasted After Video of Him Leaving DOJ Goes Viral

A video of U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland leaving the Department of Justice (DOJ) while receiving applause and cheers from staffers and other government officials has received a massive wave of backlash online.

In the two days since it has been posted, the video has received just over 9,000 likes, compared to over 12,000 overwhelmingly negative comments.

“Dude belongs in prison,” said conservative YouTuber duo the Hodge Twins:

Jury Finds CNN Is Literally Fake News

CNN was found liable on Friday for defaming U.S. Navy veteran Zachary Young.

Following roughly eight hours of deliberations, jurors found CNN both “committed defamation per se” and “committed defamation by implication.”

Jurors awarded Young $4 million in economic damages and $1 million in emotional damages and agreed that punitive damages are warranted, prompting phase 2 of the trial. Punitive damages will be awarded to Young to dissuade CNN and other networks from doing what CNN did.

The case arose after CNN aired a segment in November of 2021 on “The Lead with Jake Tapper” that falsely framed Young as exploiting Afghans by offering evacuations from Afghanistan on a “black market.” A court later found Young did nothing illegal. Young alleged the segment “rendered Young permanently unemployable” because the use of the term “black market” in the chyron implied Young was engaged in illegal conduct — something his defense contracts expressly prohibited.

As Young testified — and as messages show — he informed CNN’s Katie Bo Lillis that rather than seeking money for evacuation costs directly from Afghans he was “focused on aligning corporate sponsors who have the resources to support with those afghans most in need.” Lillis pressed Young on his pricing model and further asked whether Young had ever successfully evacuated anyone. Notably, Young evacuated nearly two dozen Afghans, including a child, a fact that was conveniently left out of CNN’s report and digital story. Parents of OpenAI Whistleblower Want Outside Investigation of Their Son’s Death

The parents of a young man involved in a case against OpenAI, are calling for further investigation into the death of their son. The San Francisco County coroner ruled his death a suicide back in November. Now they also have the support of a Silicon Valley Congressman.

The parents of Suchir Balaji say they don’t believe their son died by suicide, and they want an outside agency to investigate their son’s death.

“You can see how happy he is. We want the world to see his happy mood just before his death,” said Poornima Ramarao, Balaji’s mother.

The parents of 26-year-old Suchir Balaji say they continue to have questions about the death of their son. They say on November 26th, Balaji was discovered in his San Francisco apartment with an apparent gunshot wound. San Francisco Police say it appeared to be a suicide and there was no evidence of foul play in its initial investigation. Still, his mother says there were things out of place in his apartment.

“The pin drive is missing. His computer was messed up. His desktop was left on for three days. It’s messed up,” said Ramarao. (Read more from “Parents of OpenAI Whistleblower Want Outside Investigation of Their Son’s Death” HERE)

Moderna Awarded $590M to Help Accelerate Development of mRNA-Based Bird Flu Vaccine: HHS

Moderna has been awarded approximately $590 million from the federal government to help speed up the development of an mRNA-based bird flu vaccine, alongside other influenza vaccines, health officials announced Friday.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said in a press release that the funding will allow the pharmaceutical company to accelerate the development of an H5N1 mRNA influenza vaccine “that is well matched to strains currently circulating in cows and birds and expands the clinical data supporting the use of mRNA vaccines that may be needed if other influenza strains emerge with pandemic potential.”

Moderna said the funding will support the expansion of clinical studies “for up to five additional subtypes of pandemic influenza.”

The U.S. government previously awarded the vaccine manufacturer $176 million in July 2024 to help expedite the development of an mRNA vaccine that could be used for bird flu.

mRNA technology is the same type that was used in the development of some COVID-19 vaccines. While some vaccines use a weakened or inactive virus to stimulate an immune response, mRNA vaccines teach the body how to make proteins that can trigger an immune response and fight off an infection. Alzheimer’s and Memory Issues Could Be Fended Off by Popular Food in Huge Discovery

Enjoying a particular type of cheese could be more beneficial than you might think, as fresh research indicates it may help fend off Alzheimer’s and cognitive deterioration, diseases that new research has shown can be predicted by certain dreams. Published in the reputable Neuroscience Research, the study points to Camembert as a potential enhancer of mental faculties.

Scientists observed that mice on a high-fat diet, typically linked to reduced cognitive abilities, experienced a boost in brain power when their diet included Camembert.

This enhancement was ascribed to myristate, a compound present in the cheese, which has been linked to supporting brain function and improving memory, whereas experts have pinpointed other foods that can enhance the chances of developing Alzheimer’s.

The presence of myristamide in Camembert appears to increase levels of a crucial protein for the brain named brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). This protein is integral to protecting the brain and nurturing synaptic development. Other studies, meanwhile, have found that a certain diet can also cut the chances of Alzheimer’s. . .

In this investigation, a dose of 10mg of myristamide for every kilogram of body weight “significantly improved cognitive performance” in mice. This was particularly evident in tasks involving the recognition of unfamiliar objects and locales, reports the Mirror.
