Mark Levin BLOWS up the Hillary Charade: Was She Sick, a Liar, or BOTH?!

Brand new information came out Friday detailing Hillary Clinton’s alleged health problems, and no this is not conspiracy peddling.

Hillary Clinton reportedly told the FBI that a concussion followed by a blood clot prevented her from recalling all her State Department briefings. That sounds like a pretty serious concussion and perhaps a prevailing medical concern, notes Mark Levin.

“Either she had a problem, or she is a liar, or both!” exclaimed Levin on his radio program Friday.

Remember, the FBI is, of course, releasing all of this important information the Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend. Now why would they do that? Could it be that they want to dump the information while the media is asleep at the wheel? Nooooo, can’t be.

Responding to the report, Levin called on the Clinton campaign to release her medical records and answer for the 2,000 occasions that classified material passed through her private server.

Will they? We doubt it. But someone ought to be demanding it because the FBI and DOJ won’t. (For more from the author of “Mark Levin BLOWS up the Hillary Charade: Was She Sick, a Liar, or BOTH?!” please click HERE)

‘Shut It Down!’: Cameraman Ordered to Kill Positive Trump Footage

Donald Trump was enjoying a rare moment of positive media coverage on CNN, Fox and other networks Saturday as a black Christian bishop from Detroit was bestowing his blessing with a powerful symbolism that included the laying on of a Jewish tallit or prayer shawl.

“There are going to be some times in your life that you’re gonna feel forsaken,” Bishop Wayne Jackson told Trump. “You’re gonna feel down. But the anointing is going to lift you up. I prayed over this prayer shawl and I fasted over it. And I wanna just put this on you … .”

The bishop placed the prayer shawl over Trump’s shoulders, then gave him a Jewish Heritage Bible and instructed him, when things are going badly, to read Mark 9:23 “If you can believe … .”

That’s when a voice can be heard saying, “Shut it down!” . . .

After some brief resistance from the cameraman, the order to “shut it down” persists and the feed is suddenly dropped. The screen went to a “blackout.” (Read more from “‘Shut It Down!’: Cameraman Ordered to Kill Positive Trump Footage” HERE)

Obama’s Greatest Achievement

The time for complaining about President Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran has passed. The time has come to overcome the enormous damage his signature foreign policy accomplishment has caused.

To understand why this is the case, it is important to understand the breadth and depth of Obama’s failure.

On August 4, during the course of a press conference, Obama gave his interim assessment of his nuclear agreement with Iran.

“It worked,” he insisted.

A year after the deal was signed, Obama argued, events have proven that he was right and the deal’s critics were wrong.

“You’ll recall that there were all these horror stories about how Iran was going to cheat and this wasn’t going to work and Iran was going to get $150 billion to finance terrorism and all these kinds of scenarios, and none of them have come to pass,” he proclaimed.

Obama then snidely swiped at the deal’s opponents saying that it would be “impressive” if the people who criticized the deal would own up to their mistakes and admit that it worked.

As it works out, everything that Obama said about the deal with Iran during his press conference was a lie.

Some of his lies became apparent within hours.

For instance, Obama falsely claimed that Israel now “acknowledges this has been a game changer and Iran has abided by the deal and they no longer have the sort of short-term breakout capacity that would allow them to develop nuclear weapons.”

Hours later, the Defense Ministry issued a stinging rebuke of Obama’s claim, parroted more diplomatically by the Prime Minister’s Office.

Obama’s press conference took place the day after The Wall Street Journal reported that in January 2016, the US sent an unmarked plane to the Tehran airport filled with $400 million in cash, on the same day Iran released four US hostages.

Obama angrily rejected allegations that the cash payment was a ransom payment for the hostages’ release. He insisted that the US had made the payment as the first installment of a $1.7b. payment the administration made to settle an Iranian government lawsuit against America.

Obama claimed that the administration agreed to the settlement at the urging of the Justice Department.

He said his administration was able to settle the dispute only due to the nuclear deal which placed US officials in direct contact with their Iranian counterparts for the first time in decades.

Within a day, Obama’s claims were exposed as lies. It turns out that Justice Department lawyers opposed the cash payout to Iran.

One of the hostages released in January told the media that the Iranians refused to allow the hostages to leave Iran until the airplane with the cash landed in the airport.

The Iranians, for their part, contemptuously mocked Obama, and stated openly that the $400m.

was a ransom payment for the hostages.

Two weeks later, Obama’s State Department admitted that the $400m. was a payment for the hostages.

Obama’s principle claim is that due to his deal, Iran no longer has a short-term nuclear breakout capacity. He also says that in accordance with the deal, Iran has shipped its nuclear materials out of the country. These claims are both untrue and misleading.

On Thursday Reuters reported that Iran did not ship the quantities of low-enriched uranium out of the country in the quantities the deal required.

Last January, when the deadline arrived for Iran to comply with the deal’s clauses calling for it to move its uranium enriched to 3.5 percent and 20 percent out of the country and so enable the US and its European colleagues to cancel UN sanctions against it, it worked out that Iran had failed to comply.

Rather than acknowledge Iran’s failure and maintain the sanctions in accordance with their deal, the Americans and Europeans decided to move the goalpost closer to Iran.

They secretly decreased the amount of uranium the Iranians were required to part with. They then announced triumphantly that they were canceling UN sanctions because Iran had complied with the agreement.

Reuters reported that much of the low-enriched uranium Iran did remove from its territory wasn’t actually removed from its possession. Instead it was transferred to neighboring Oman, where it is held under Iranian guard and control.

Obama of course knows all of this. So his claims that the agreement “worked” are nothing more than a card trick meant to trick the American public.

Obama’s assertion that Iran’s breakout time to a nuclear arsenal has been slowed as a result of his deal is similarly a stretch of the imagination. The Iranians have suspended much of their prior centrifuge spinning. But that is only because they are now directing their efforts to developing and deploying more advanced centrifuges that will be able to enrich uranium to bomb grade material far more rapidly than the centrifuges they were required to retire.

Experts have already placed Iran’s post-deal nuclear breakout time at a mere six months. And Iran can leave the agreement – which it never actually signed or officially agreed to – anytime it wants.

While developing their next generation centrifuges, the Iranians are expanding the range and precision of their ballistic missiles, deploying them and increasing the size of their arsenals. Despite the fact that these actions are prohibited under US law and breach what was initially claimed about the ever-changing nuclear deal, the Obama administration has refused to impose sanctions against Iran, insisting that its actions merely breach the spirit, rather than substance, of the deal.

The administration has had a similar response to Iran’s recent deployment of Russia’s S-300 missile defense battery around its military nuclear site at Fordo. On Sunday Iranian television showed footage of the missiles being set up around the formerly secret site.

As Omri Ceren of the Israel Project noted this week, Iran’s deployment of the S-300 system places it in breach of three US sanctions laws. Despite this, the White House announced on Wednesday that it has no intention of enforcing US law and applying sanctions on Iran. The S-300 missiles can be used both as a defensive system and as an offensive one.

On Tuesday, Tehran announced that it will be launching three satellites in the coming months.

Satellite launches are widely viewed as a means through which Iran is covertly developing a longrange ballistic missile capability. Rather than censure Iran for its actions, the Obama administration insists that such actions, as well as Iran’s recent longrange rocket tests, do not violate the nuclear deal or warrant US action.

Taken separately and together, Iran’s actions since the nuclear deal was officially concluded make clear that it continues to pursue its nuclear program, and indeed, has become more brazen in its nuclear operations than it was before the agreement was announced last year.

In other words, not only has the deal not worked, contrary to Obama’s claims, it has been a colossal failure on every level. The deal’s opponents were entirely right about the dangers it posed and Obama was entirely wrong.

This is true as well in relation to the administration’s qualified promises that the deal would lead to better relations between the US and Iran. As Shoshana and Stephen Bryen noted last week following the Iranian naval assault on the USS Nitze in the Strait of Hormuz, with its repeated harassment of US naval ships traversing the Strait of Hormuz, Iran is clearly practicing its tactic of swarming US naval craft as a preparation for a real strike against them.

The main reason that Iran’s nuclear program is such a grave concern for Israel and for other Middle Eastern states is that the Iranian regime has hegemonic ambitions. It seeks to destroy Israel and dominate the entire region.

Since it concluded the deal with Washington, Iran has surged its forces and massively expanded its power projection throughout the region.

On Thursday the Daily Mail reported that the commonly held belief that Iran commands 16,000 troops in Syria is wrong. According to the National Council of Resistance in Iran, the regime actually commands 60,000 forces in Syria, deployed throughout the country. The entire Syrian army today numbers a mere 50,000 men.

On August 4, Obama mocked claims that Iran would spend its windfall profits of $100b.-$150b.

from the sanctions relief the nuclear deal offered to fund terrorism. Yet, according to the Daily Mail report, to date Iran has spent $100b. on the war in Syria.

The implications of the report are blood curdling.

They mean that despite Obama’s denials, the funds Iran has received as a result of the sanctions relief he brought about through his nuclear deal have paid for Iran’s war in Syria. That war has caused the death of nearly half a million people and forced more than 11 million people to flee their homes.

Obviously, it is important for Americans to know the truth about the Iran deal and its consequences as they consider their votes for Obama’s replacement.

One of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s top candidates for secretary of state is Wendy Sherman.

Sherman was the chief negotiator of Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran.

For Israel, the question of what to do about Iran now is far more urgent than it is for Americans.

Today more and more commentators are voicing concern over the prospect that Obama will support an anti-Israel resolution at the UN Security Council as a parting shot at Israel.

But any such resolution will be small potatoes in comparison to the strategic devastation his nuclear deal, which is his main foreign policy legacy, has caused.

The rapidity of Iran’s advance makes clear that there is no justification for waiting to act until Obama has left office. If it doesn’t act soon, Israel is on the fast track to waking up one morning and discovering it has no means of thwarting the threat.

Indeed, with each passing month, its options for action become more and more limited.

After Israel’s security leadership undermined Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to attack Iran’s nuclear installations in 2010 and 2012, Netanyahu settled on a strategy of blocking Obama’s moves to appease Tehran.

That strategy of course failed last summer. Since then, Netanyahu has worked to build an anti-Iranian alliance with the Sunni Arab states. His efforts in this area have clearly met with some measure of success, as witnessed by public statements from prominent Saudis and others.

Whatever that success may be, and whatever the status of that burgeoning alliance of spurned US allies, the fact is that it’s time Israel and its new allies do something more than send signals. Time is a-wasting.

Last spring Brig.-Gen. Hossein Salami, the deputy commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, said, “Today the grounds for the annihilation and collapse of the Zionist regime are more present than ever before.”

Thanks to Obama, he may be right.

It is time for Israel to make him eat his words. (For more from the author of “Obama’s Greatest Achievement” please click HERE)

Fellow Millennials, Shrug off Special Snowflake Syndrome and Get to Work

Millennials are a fun group to make fun of, rage at, and relish in their schadenfreude. There’s something ironic about group of kids who grew up being told they could be “anything” but are now living in Mom’s basement. Still, that’s not great for society, the economy, or them. Are millennials destined to be a complacent segment of society, or can they rise above their own questionable reputation?

Unemployed and Unemployable

Recently Forbes tweeted:

The first part should come as no surprise — their reputation precedes every news article, and they’re hardly known for being hard workers. Also, it seems like everybody is down on the economy so maybe that’s it.

But wait, twice the national average? Oops.

Sure enough, the unemployment rate has fallen to 4.9 percent, “the lowest in eight years,” according to CNN Money. So if millennials are unemployed at twice the rate of the national average, the problem lies with them. Forbes offered conjecture wrapped in advice and encouragement: “Millennials are doing lots right in the job hunt. We’re picky, purpose-driven and willing to take risks. But we also frequently make avoidable mistakes that waste our time and sabotage our career prospects.” “Picky” might be a larger part of the problem than it looks. Too picky, too perfect, and too precious.

The Pew Research Center reported in May that more 18- to 34-year-olds are living at home (with mom, dad, or both parents) than are “married or cohabiting and living in their own household.” According to Pew, the biggest reason for this was their inability to find jobs to support their independence. That is one sad, pathetic, and ultimately scary statistic, especially when you consider millennials have surpassed baby boomers as the nation’s largest living generation.

So why are these mostly able-bodied, agile-minded millennials — who grew up in one of the greatest, most industrialized, advanced countries in the history of the universe, with opportunities abounding — living with Mom and Dad instead of making their mark on the world and contributing to society?

It’s impossible to speak for all of them and any attempt is certainly an estimated guess, but this was the generation of participation ribbons, of mothers charging into school to talk to teachers at the first sign of discord, and of the false encouragement, “You can be anything.” Might these factors relate to a job-seeking generation who just can’t seem to “find” any work? Of course, the latter is a common phrase parents use when they’re trying to be encouraging. However, as children enter their teens and their strengths and weaknesses and proclivities toward particular subjects and activities become obvious, direction is useful. A student who can’t pass calculus should not be told he can get into medical school, unless he plans on really working hard on math.

Hard Life Lessons

Millennials who grew up with parents shielding them from any disagreements in school, constantly telling them they were the “best” or “special” have come to discover the world does not view them that way and have thrown up their hands and returned home to roost. This graph, showing how veteran human resources professionals really feel about millennial job seekers — and how millennials feel about themselves — demonstrates this well.

“Snowflake” children who grew up protected within a sheltered bubble (think snow globe) have now reached adulthood, and instead of starting at the bottom of the proverbial vocational chain, they consider themselves too good, too pretty, too special, for real work. They have abandoned the prospect completely, thus rendering themselves useless, living up to their already-soiled reputation. Dirty, uncomfortable work provides more life lessons than a parent’s basement.

I know because at 34, I am (barely) a millennial who started working at age 13 (over summer and winter breaks) and have never stopped. I’ve been the only woman on a construction site, hanging wallpaper in new homes. Even after earning a B.A., I worked at a coffee shop for a few months, because I couldn’t find work in my field of study and needed the income. Uncomfortable? Of course. Lessons learned? Absolutely.

It’s time millennials shrugged off their reputation and got to work, whatever that might be and however “beneath” them in might feel. It will teach them valuable lessons while they contribute to society at the same time. As George Bernard Shaw said,

This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.

It Spreads: Invasion of the Scary Killer Clowns

Whatever, the recent spate of hysteria started in South Carolina.

Police say they are doing extra patrols in a Winston-Salem neighborhood after two children reported seeing a clown trying to lure kids into the woods with treats.

About four hours later, a caller who refused to give a name reported another sighting about two miles away. Police say again they found no evidence of a clown.

More unverified scary clown sightings in northern South Carolina have been in the news recently.

In the Greenville area, multiple law-enforcement agencies are investigating a rash of incidents involving clown sightings at apartment complexes and other areas of Greenville and Spartanburg counties. (Read more from “It Spreads: Invasion of the Scary Killer Clowns” HERE)

Obama Defends Kaepernick

President Obama defended Colin Kaepernick while answering questions from the press at the G20 summit meeting in Hangzhou, saying that the quarterback was “exercising his constitutional right.”

Kaepernick, who has created a firestorm of debate over his criticism of the national anthem, has said that he will continue his protest of sitting out the anthem at the start of games indefinitely. This weekend, 49ers coach Chip Kelly announced that Kaepernick would be the team’s backup quarterback.

“I don’t doubt his sincerity,” Obama said of Kaepernick, before going on to say generating conversation on the topic was positive.

The conversation Kapernick has generated — about race, patriotism, sports protest and violence by and against police — has not been received positively by all Americans.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said one week ago that “maybe [Kaepernick] should find a country that works better for him” and angry fans have posted videos of themselves burning Kaepernick jerseys and other memorabilia on social media. Barron’s: Federal Deficit Is Set ‘to Explode’

Be warned: The steady stream of federal red ink is getting to be a deeper shade of crimson.

As increases in annual U.S. budget gap add to national debt, blunt prospects for economic growth, and bode badly for America’s financial future, Barron’s reports.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) recently revised its projections for the U.S. budget in a report that began with an alert that, in fiscal year 2016, the budget deficit will grow, relative to the economy, for the first time since 2009. In dollar terms, that’s about a $590 billion annual gap, $152 billion wider than last year’s.

“In short, the federal budget deficit is about to explode,” David Ader, a government-bond strategist at Greenwich Capital, RBS, and most recently, CRT, wrote for Barron’s.

The agency projected that the debt held by the public will rise 3 percentage points to 77 percent of U.S. gross domestic product by the end of fiscal year 2016 this month, the Washington Examiner reported. (Read more from “Barron’s: Federal Deficit Is Set ‘to Explode'” HERE)

Obama Once Again Imagines He Will Save the World

On his inauguration — perhaps apotheosis is a better word — President Obama said that the world would forever remember that “this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal.”

Seven years later, adjusting or forgetting his earlier prophecy, Mr Obama declared in Beijing that his signing of the Paris Agreement on global warming would be known throughout history as “the moment we finally decided to save our planet.”

Either way, if he is right then President Obama will have done what no man has ever done before; he will stop the earth’s climate from changing. How mighty a feat would this be?

Joshua prayed that the sun would stand still. Something very like that will and must occur to stop the climate from changing, because it is the sun’s variability, and the ever-shifting of earth’s position in relation to the sun, which cause the vast bulk of changes in the atmosphere. Though mankind surely influences the climate, just as every species from aardvarks to zebra muscles also influence the climate, our contributions pale next to the powers of the sun.

Can the President’s Agreement command the sun?

Epictetus said, “Crows pick out the eyes of the dead, when the dead have no longer need of them; but flatterers mar the soul of the living, and her eyes they blind.” No man has been as saturated in flattery as President Obama, so it is easy to understand how the poor man could be fail to see to his limitations.

An Agreement or a Treaty?

His blindness might also explain why Mr. Obama declared that he had the power to “ratify” the Agreement as if the Agreement was a legally binding treaty.

Now the President has the power to make treaties, but they only become valid “provided two-thirds of the Senators” concur, or so says the once-important Constitution (we are not forgetting the beatings it has been given by such personages as Anthony Kennedy). Without this concurrence, which no one thinks will be forthcoming, no treaty can become legally binding. This was very fate of the similar Kyoto Protocol on global warming engineered by the Clinton Administration, which also knew it could not convince its Senate to concur. Incidentally, none of its prophecies of doom came to pass.

Yet since Obama must be the savior of the world and “combat” a changing climate, he would bypass the Senate and call the Paris treaty an “Executive Agreement” instead. The President has the power to make Executive Agreements — as long as these do not legally bind the country.

There is no reason to rehash the faulty science behind global warming upon which the Paris Agreement relies. Nor need we dwell on what the legal document would compel the United States to do, mainly because the interpretation of much of the Agreement is open and fluid. Instead we wonder what the Senate will do.

It could insist that the Agreement is a treaty because it legally requires the United States to act in a certain way, and thus pronounce it null. But this would require going on record, which is not likely because many who oppose Mr. Obama are afraid of being labeled “anti-science,” and nobody wants the fight in an election year. Besides, about half the Senate supports Mr Obama’s action.

What will probably happen is that the Senate will allow Mr. Obama’s definition. It has already been noted, for instance, the Agreement uses the word “should” instead of “shall” in delineating its many requirements. Lawyers wrote the Agreement, not scientists, and its “hidden code” is for lawyers to wrangle over.

Because the Senate is controlled (weakly) by those who oppose Mr. Obama, they might think they will be able to stem the reach of the Agreement, for instance by denying its programs money. But Mr. Obama will probably marry the Agreement to the EPA and other agencies under his control, agencies which the Senate are reluctant to touch. The president won’t get everything he wants this way, but he’ll get something.

The end-around sought by the president could backfire, though. If, as he insists, the Agreement contains only suggestions, and is not a treaty, then in five short months under a President Trump, assuming such a thing happens and given Mr. Trump’s statements about global warming, the entire thing will be forgotten. The only way Mr. Obama can influence the climate then is by holding his breath, thus stopping his carbon-dioxide-laden exhalation from polluting the atmosphere. Pro-Life Catholics Fight Back, Picketing Tim Kaine’s Parish

This week I read a report in the indispensable LifeSiteNews about American Catholics who aren’t going to sit idly while their Church drifts toward the socialist, pro-choice left. In the process, it highlighted one practical step faithful Catholics can take to resist these trends.

Apparently some Catholics in Virginia got sick of the scandal of avowedly Catholic vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine receiving Holy Communion like a Catholic in good standing — when canon 915 of Church law forbids him from doing so, and instructs his bishop and pastor to refuse it to him. Neither his bishop nor his pastor has done so. So these faithful citizens decided to go after the scandal at its root, by picketing Tim Kaine’s Catholic parish. As LifeSite recounts:

Roughly a dozen pro-life activists protested Sunday outside of pro-abortion, pro-homosexuality Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Sen. Tim Kaine’s Catholic parish.

“Sen. Kaine has failed in his duty as a Catholic public servant to defend the preborn and Fr. Arsenault has failed in his duty as pastor to admonish Sen. Kaine and to instruct the rest of his congregation on the teachings of the Catholic Church regarding the sanctity of human life,” Virginia pro-life activist Maggie Egger told LifeSiteNews in an email.

“I, along with a group of Catholics from various parishes around the Diocese of Richmond, went to St. Elizabeth’s yesterday to do what Sen. Kaine and Fr. Arsenault will not: defend our preborn brethren by exposing abortion as the decapitation and dismemberment of tiny human beings, instruct the parishioners of St. Elizabeth’s on the teachings of the Church, and inform them that Sen. Kaine publicly supports the decapitation and dismemberment of tiny human beings under the guise of being ‘personally pro-life,’” Egger said.

Every four years, millions of Catholics vote for pro-abortion politicians with an apparently clear conscience. (Obama got majorities of Catholic votes in both elections; imagine the scandal if a majority of Catholics voted for a segregationist.) At the same time, as the Pew Study reports, 40 percent of adults who were raised as Catholics have left the Church never to return. These two trends are linked, as the very same tepidness enables pro-choice Catholics, and drives out some fervent souls who decide to worship elsewhere. Note that GOP vice-presidential candidate Mike Pence seems to be one of the fervent; he joined his wife’s evangelical church and stayed pro-life. Tim Kaine stayed Catholic and became pro-choice.

How does something like that happen? Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict, Pope Francis, the Catechism of the Catholic Church and almost 2000 years of Church tradition (going back at least to the Didache) have been absolutely clear that abortion is murder. Full stop. For the government to permit it is criminal, akin to Southern states that used to wink at lynching. Politicians who support legal abortion are “public sinners” akin to members of the Mafia. They have no more place receiving Communion than Al Capone.

How could someone like Jesuit-educated, former missionary Tim Kaine go to Mass every week, hob-nob with his local bishop and not get the Catholic pro-life memo? Maybe nobody sent it. LifeSiteNews delved into the parish which Kaine attends, and found the following:

Kaine’s parish, St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, gave him a standing ovation at Mass after he became Hillary Clinton’s running mate. His pastor, Father Jim Arsenault, praised Kaine in an NPR interview.

“I know that he’s definitely against capital punishment and works to help defend those who are on death row,” Arsenault said. “The church has a teaching with regard to we’re pro-life, and we believe in that seamless garment of life. We respect sometimes lawmakers make difficult decisions.” Arsenault was commenting on how as governor of Virginia, Kaine oversaw several executions. The priest told NPR that he thought the issues most important to Kaine were women’s pay and “social justice issues.”

And there we have our answer. Catholics like Tim Kaine have apostatized on the Church’s most fundamental moral teaching, that human life is good and sacred and cannot be snuffed out for our sexual convenience. When they defend such radical evil for the sake of naked ambition, they are applauded by their fellow-parishioners who think it’s cool to have a celebrity with them each week. And such politicians are protected by their pastors and bishops. Priests like Fr. Arsenault latch onto empty, shallow slogans like the “seamless garment” that have never been endorsed by the Church, just repeated as a mantra by countless tenured Jesuits till it’s hard to tell the difference.

God bless Maggie Egger for leading this witness to life and faith, and LifeSiteNews for reporting on it. Egger and company surely had more pleasant things they could have done with their Sunday morning than stand outside some posh parish and denounce its local hero to the glares of his friends and neighbors. They won’t win any prizes or praise from that quarter.

You see, by taking this stand these pro-life Catholics committed the one unforgivable sin in the suburban, lax post-Catholic church: They made a scene. They shattered the facile illusion of worldly, progressive Sadducees who are exquisitely cozy in our poisoned, post-Christian culture. Egger and company stood as a sign of contradiction, around the cross, and can expect to receive the same contempt as their Savior who hung on it.

We need millions more Catholics like that, confronting politicians, pastors and bishops across the country. If only for the sake of peace and quiet, they might start preaching the Gospel. (For more from the author of “Pro-Life Catholics Fight Back, Picketing Tim Kaine’s Parish” please click HERE)

Michigan High School Football Team Shows What It Thinks of National Anthem

When a Michigan high school football team learned that the national anthem would not be played before its Wednesday game, the players took up the challenge.

They sang it themselves.

The Lapeer Lightning freshman team was playing a game against Carman-Ainsworth High School in Flint Township, Mich. Lapeer was told there would be no anthem played before the game.

“Like most schools in the state of Michigan, we choose to play the national anthem prior to the highest level of competition,” Carman-Ainsworth Schools Superintendent Eddie Kindle said, noting that the anthem was to be played before a junior high game later that night. He said that the lack of an anthem was not in any way a form of protest.

When game time rolled around, Lapeer’s freshmen lined up on the sideline, waiting for the anthem to be played.

When they learned it wouldn’t be, they started to sing.

“It’s an incredible feeling. I’ve been with most of these players for three years now. They’re just an awesome group of kids,” Lapeer head coach Bryan Sahr said. “It makes me incredibly emotional and I don’t usually get emotional.”

Sahr said the team was unaware that a formal decision had been made not to play the anthem, which was why the team lined up to hear it. They assumed it was not played due to problems with the sound system.

The coach said the players and fans on the host team’s sideline saluted while his team sang, and then cheered when their rendition was over.

“A lot of teenagers would be embarrassed to do that. I know I don’t like to hear myself sing,” Sahr said.

The school said it was proud of its freshmen.

“We’re just super proud of our guys to overcome that situation and take it upon themselves to sing the national anthem. We couldn’t be prouder,” said Lapeer High School athletic director Shad Spilski.

Lapeer mom Chell Byrnes posted an image of the team on her Facebook page with an explanation of what happened. The post was shared more than 1,700 times and attracted numerous comments.

“I was proud of my great nephew & team for being respectful,” posted Lynn Dunn. “It was the first time ever seeing him play. Kudos to the parents and coaches for installing the pride we should have of our country and the people who serve/served this great nation. … Please share this so that all kids know that it is cool to do the right thing, hard but cool.”

Nicole Driskell Mckenna added, “Maybe Colin Kapernick could learn a few things from our boys!” (For more from the author of “Michigan High School Football Team Shows What It Thinks of National Anthem” please click HERE)
