Police have arrested a 26-year-old woman after several babies at a Virginia hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) suffered “unexplainable fractures.”
Erin Elizabeth Ann Strotman, of Chesterfield County, is facing charges of malicious wounding and felony child abuse “in connection to an incident that occurred in November 2024,” Henrico County Police said in a Friday news release, obtained by People.
On Christmas Eve, Henrico Doctors’ Hospital announced it would not be “admitting any additional babies into our NICU at this time” after three babies were found with fractures in November and December 2023. The injuries were “similar to an incident involving four babies in the summer of 2023,” the hospital release said.
HCA Virginia confirmed to People that Strotman is a former employee of the hospital.
“We are both shocked and saddened by this development in the investigation and are focused on continuing to care for our patients and providing support to our colleagues who have been deeply and personally impacted by this investigation,” the statement read. Justice Juan Merchan ruled that President-elect Donald Trump will be sentenced on January 10 regarding his business records trial.
In a court order on Friday, Merchan wrote that the Court had found “no legal impediment to sentencing” and added that the Court recognized “that Presidential immunity will likely attach” once Trump is sworn into office. Merchan added that it was “incumbent upon” the Court “to set this matter down for the imposition of sentence” prior to Trump’s inauguration.

“Finding no legal impediment to sentencing and recognizing that Presidential immunity will likely attach once Defendant takes his Oath of Office, it is incumbent upon this Court to set this matter down for the imposition of sentence prior to January 20, 2025,” Merchan wrote in a court order. “It is this Court’s firm belief that only by bringing finality to this matter will all three interests be served.”
Merchan’s ruling comes months after a New York jury found Trump guilty of all 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first-degree concerning payments made to adult porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential election. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson was reelected Friday afternoon by House Republicans in a tight vote after receiving enough votes to secure the gavel.
Johnson won the vote to be the speaker of the 119th Congress on the first ballot.
During the vote on the first ballot, there were six members who originally decided not to vote and were silent when their names were first called. There were also three other members who voted for a different Republican to be speaker, making him two votes shy of the necessary 218 votes.
Republican Reps. Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar of Arizona, Michael Cloud of Texas, Andrew Clyde of Georgia, Andy Harris of Maryland and Chip Roy of Texas were all silent when first called on during the first ballot. After being called again, Roy said he would be voting for Johnson. Gosar also then voted for Johnson.
Before the vote, Johnson told reporters, “I think so,” when asked if he believes he would have enough votes on the first ballot.
Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie voted for Majority Whip Tom Emmer to be the next speaker and South Carolina Rep. Ralph Norman originally voted for Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan. Texas Rep. Keith Self placed his vote for Florida Rep. Byron Donalds.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) released a letter from the man who blew himself up in a Tesla Cybertruck this week that they located on one of two cellphones they recovered from inside the vehicle.
The letter was located on an app on the cellphone belonging to Master Sgt. Matthew Livelsberger, the U.S. Army Green Beret who they identified as the person who shot himself inside the vehicle moments before the explosives he placed in it detonated.
FBI Special Agent Spencer Evans said that the incident was “a tragic case of suicide involving a heavily decorated combat veteran who is struggling with PTSD and other issues.”
In the letter, Livelsberger said that the U.S. was “the best country” to ever exist, but that in its current state, it was “terminally ill and headed toward collapse.”
He talked about the decline in traditional values in the letter and warned that political elites view the masses as “cattle.” (Read more from “Police Release Manifesto From Suspect Who Blew Up Cybertruck” HERE)

By Fox News. The half-brother of the terrorist suspect Shamsud-Din Jabbar blamed radicalization for the attack on New Year’s Day in New Orleans.
Fox News spoke with Abdur Rahim-Jabbar in Beaumont, Texas, where they grew up alongside three additional siblings.
Abdur said that they grew up Muslim, along with his whole family. He said that Jabbar stepped away from Islam, but found his way back following his 2022 divorce.
Jabbar struggled to find himself throughout his life, his half-brother told Fox News. He said that his half-brother joined the army to “find something, to set him straight, ground him, and maybe find a viable career path.” . . .
His half-brother blamed radicalization for the attack and said that he did not see any signs prior to the attack, as well as expressing his condolences for the 15 lives lost. FBI Does Another 180, Claims New Orleans Attacker Worked Alone Day After Conducting Manhunt For Accomplices
By Daily Caller. The FBI said Thursday the suspect in New Orleans’ terrorist attack on New Year’s Day acted alone despite previous reports of potential accomplices.
Officials identified Shamsud-Din Jabbar as the driver of a Ford pickup truck that plowed through a Bourbon Street crowd early Wednesday morning. Police killed Jabbar, who reportedly possessed an ISIS flag in the vehicle, in a shootout shortly thereafter.
“We do not asses, at this point, that anyone else is involved in this attack except for Shamsud-Din Jabbar,” FBI Counterterrorism Division Deputy Assistant Director Christopher Raia said in a press conference.
The FBI reviewed surveillance footage showing Jabbar, a Texas-born U.S. citizen, placing improvised explosive devices (IED), two of which FBI bomb technicians recovered from coolers on streets surrounding the area attacked. Following their review, authorities concluded that no one else was involved in Jabbar’s attack.
“We’re confident at this point that there are no other accomplices,” Raia reiterated later in the press conference. (Read more from “FBI Does Another 180, Claims New Orleans Attacker Worked Alone Day After Conducting Manhunt For Accomplices” HERE)

New Orleans Terrorist Wanted to Kill His Family, but Backed Off for Agenda-Driven Reason
By WND. The New Orleans terrorist, Shamsud Din Jabbar, being blamed now for the deaths of 15 and injuries to dozens after he drove a truck through the crowded streets of New Orleans early New Year’s Day, had wanted to harm his family too.
But he backed off because he was concerned that the horror over that news would overshadow what he called the “war between believers & disbelievers.”
Evidence is showing that the onetime soldier was radicalized into Islam, and was taking the Quran’s instructions to destroy those who don’t follow Islam’s ideologies literally.
JUST IN: New Orleans terror attack suspect Shamsud-Din Jabbar intended to kill his family but was concerned media attention wouldn't be focused on the "war between believers & disbelievers."
The FBI says Jabbar posted multiple videos online.

Former FBI agent Jonathan Gilliam said Thursday on Newsmax that he was disappointed with the agency’s operational standards, and he also said political influences have warped recruitment and qualifications.
During an appearance on Newsmax’s “Carl Higbie: Frontline,” Gilliam said he was frustrated over the agency’s failure to adapt to modern challenges. He also said that a lack of innovative thinking is a critical flaw in the FBI’s approach.
“That’s the way they’ve been doing that for a long time, ever since I was in the bureau, back in 2005, all the way back to there. When I got out in 2013, I couldn’t take it anymore,” Gilliam told Carl Higbie when asked why the agency was looking at all the wrong places. “I mean, the reality is they, just like down in New Orleans, a perfect example of what you saw down there, is that the bureau doesn’t think outside the box.”
Gilliam said that the FBI has been under the influence of political ideologies, particularly from the left, which he said have permeated the agency.

“The Rosary In A Year” podcast has hit number one on Apple’ Podcasts charts after releasing its first episode Wednesday.
The podcast released its first official episode on New Year’s Day and reached the top of the chart the same day, where it remains as of Thursday afternoon. It even surpassed the “Joe Rogan Experience,” which has consistently topped the charts since 2022.
The podcast already reached number one in the Religion & Spirituality section of Apple Podcasts after the series was announced in October with “Bible In A Year” podcast host Fr. Mike Schmitz. The occasion marks the third podcast from the Catholic media company Ascension to top Apple’s charts, with the “Bible In A Year” podcast reaching number seven on the chart and number three on the Religion & Spirituality chart, alongside the “Catechism in a Year” podcast at number four in the religion section as of Thursday afternoon.
“The world offers so much, but we want God,” podcast host and Catholic priest Fr. Mark-Mary Ames said in a statement. “In 1979, when the newly-elected Pope John Paul II was returning to communist-controlled Poland for the first time as the Holy Father, in response to his words, the crowd of over 1 million people cried out, ‘We want God! We want God! We want God.’ I can’t help but see this cry being echoed by the millions of people who have participated in Bible in a Year, Catechism in a Year, and now Rosary in a Year.” (Read more from “‘We Want God:’ Catholic Podcast Blows Up On First Day, Tops Charts On Major Platform” HERE)

A small plane crashed into a commercial building and started a fire in Southern California on Thursday, killing two people and injuring 18.
The flight-tracking website FlightAware shows a four-seat, single-engine aircraft crashed about a minute after takeoff, but it is unknown what type of plane it was or whether those injured were in the aircraft or on the ground, according to a Fullerton, California, police spokesperson.
Police received a report about the crash at around 2:09 p.m. local time, and firefighters fought the fire that erupted after the plane struck the building’s roof. The fire damaged the warehouse, which appeared to contain sewing machines and textile stock. The building was used by Michael Nicholas Designs, a furniture upholstery manufacturer, according to a sign on a door.
Ten people were hospitalized, and eight were treated at the scene and released. The police spokeswoman, Kristy Wells, said there were two confirmed deaths.
Security camera footage shows the plane hitting the building and exploding. The crash happened after the aircraft took off from Fullerton Municipal Airport, a small airport with two runways and a helipad. The cause of the crash is still being investigated. President-elect Donald Trump slammed America’s direction as a “disaster,” blaming the open borders and poor leadership.
“Our Country is a disaster, a laughing stock all over the World! This is what happens when you have OPEN BORDERS, with weak, ineffective and virtually nonexistent leadership,” he wrote in a Truth Social post in the early hours Thursday.
“The DOJ, FBI, and Democrat state and local prosecutors have not done their job. They are incompetent and corrupt, having spent all of their waking hours unlawfully attacking their political opponent, ME, rather than focusing on protecting Americans from the outside and inside violent SCUM that has infiltrated all aspects of our government, and our Nation itself,” he said.
The post comes after the first day of the new year saw terror attacks in New Orleans and Las Vegas.
A Texas Army veteran, Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar, drove into a crowd on Louisiana’s Bourbon Street on Wednesday, killing at least 15 people. He died in a shootout with police shortly after. The FBI said an ISIS flag was found on the back of the truck. (Read more from “Trump Calls America ‘Disaster,’ Laughingstock ‘All Over the World’” HERE)
