A message in a bottle thrown into the sea 108 years ago by British scientists has been discovered washed up on a beach in Germany.
It is believed to be the oldest message-in-a-bottle ever found.
Marianne Winkler, a retired post office worker, found the message from the past while on holiday with her husband on the North Sea island of Amrum.
Mrs Winkler found the bottle in April, but was shy of publicity and the full story has only now emerged.
“It’s always a joy when some one finds a message-in-a-bottle on the beach,” she told the Amrum News, a local website. (Read more from “World’s Oldest Message in a Bottle Washes up in Germany After 108 Years at Sea” HERE)

Asian Stocks Plummet, Chinese Rout Gathers Pace
By Thomson/Reuters. Asian stocks dived to 3-year lows on Monday as a rout in Chinese equities gathered pace, hastening an exodus from riskier assets as fears of a China-led global economic slowdown roiled world markets. . .
Copper, seen as a barometer of global demand, tumbled to 6-1/2-year lows as the anxiety over China sapped investor confidence.
Bourses from Japan to Malaysia were hit hard as Chinese stocks plummeted immediately after the open on Monday, with investors failing to take heart from the formalisation of rules over the weekend allowing pension funds to invest in the stock market.
Shanghai shares dived 7.7 percent to a five-month low, having lost more than 10 percent so far this month.
“The market is in a downtrend. There’s no good news, stocks are still expensive, and there’s no fresh money coming in,” said Qi Yifeng, analyst at consultancy CEBM. (Read more about the world markets plunge HERE)

By Steve Guest. Sen. Rand Paul blasted Donald Trump, stating “I think truly he is a fake conservative because he has been on every side of every issue in the last five years.”
Paul, whose comments were released by NBC ahead of his full interview on “Meet the Press” Sunday with Chris Jansing, further ridiculed Donald Trump, saying voters will “have to decide whether we want sort of empty platitudes or whether we are going to look at substance.”
Rand Paul: So it is important that the front runner on the Republican side is a disaster in a general election. He’s like ‘Here Hillary Clinton, have the election.’ Democrats are applauding saying. [Rand Applauds]
Chris Jansing: So why is Donald Trump doing so well on the the polls, senator?
Paul: Well 90 percent of the people are unhappy about what is going on in Washington. I’m one of them.

Donald Trump Heads to Cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, as Support for Mogul’s 2016 Bid Continues to Rise
By Adam Edelman. He says he keeps getting richer, and now he’s got his picture … on the cover of the Rolling Stone.
Donald Trump on Sunday notched his third magazine cover story in two weeks, after reports emerged indicating that he would gloss the front page of the ubiquitous pop culture mag.
The iconic monthly periodical is slated to feature the surging 2016 Republican candidate on its cover in its next issue, due out in early September, CNN reported.
A Rolling Stone spokeswoman declined to comment on the report. But if true, the cover would be Trump’s third in two weeks.
Last week, amid an extraordinary surge in national polls, the real estate mogul appeared on the covers of Time magazine and The Hollywood Reporter. (Read more from this story HERE)

By Ari Yashar. The Iran nuclear deal sealed last month stipulates that the UN embargo on conventional weapons will continue another five years, and missile sanctions will remain for another eight years – but Iranian President Hassan Rouhani vowed Saturday to breach those conditions of the deal.
“We will purchase weapons from wherever we deem necessary and we are not waiting for anyone’s permission; if we deem necessary we will sell our weapons and we will do this without paying attention to any resolution,” Rouhani said at a National Defense Industry Day ceremony according to the semi-official Fars News Agency.
The comment comes after Rouhani threatened war if the Iran nuclear deal fails, saying, “Iran’s strategy is based on defense and deterrence. The first line is diplomats and the second line is generals. Diplomats should be backed by generals. If they fail, it is the generals’ turn to come forward.”
Critics of the deal already have condemned the agreement for weakening the restrictions on the missile trade of the leading state sponsor of terror, but Rouhani’s latest remarks indicate he doesn’t intend to even wait for the deal to remove the embargoes and sanctions.
While the UN Security Council resolution adopting the nuclear deal stipulates that the transfer to Iran of ballistic missile technology during the next eight years will be subject to the approval of the council, US President Barack Obama’s administration has said it would veto that request. Tehran Unveils New Advanced Missile, Satellite Launcher
By World Tribune. Teheran unveiled a new advanced missile during National Defense Industry Day ceremonies, as well as a satellite launcher that experts estimate paves the way for Iran’s development of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs).
The nuclear accord includes the stipulation that Iran not test long-range ballistic missiles that can be used to carry a nuclear payload. Iran’s Shihab 3 and Sejil 2 missiles are nuclear capable.
Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Aerospace Force Commander Brig. Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh said on Aug. 21 Teheran will hold ballistic missile tests in breach of the UN resolution.
“The IRGC Aerospace Force will hold a large-scale ballistic missiles war-games soon,” Hajizadeh said . . .
Observers say U.S. President Barack Obama weakened the UN’s hand when he vowed to veto a stipulation in the deal that the transfer to Iran of ballistic missile technology during the next eight years would be subject to the approval of the UN Security Council. (Read more from this story HERE)

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said in an interview on Fox News that he “couldn’t find a single person” in Israel who felt the Obama administration hasn’t “turned their back on Israel.”
Appearing on Fox News Sunday this past weekend, Carson was asked by host Chris Wallace to explain his criticism of President Obama and the Iran deal. “Well, all you have to do, Chris, is like I have, go to Israel and talk to average people on all ends of that spectrum,” Carson said. “And I couldn’t find a single person there who didn’t feel that this administration had turned their back on Israel.”
And I think the position of president of [the] United States should be one where you begin to draw people together behind a vision, not one where you castigate those who believe differently from you. I think it’s a possibility for great healing, if it is used in the correct way.
Among other things, the deal brokered last month is supposed to reduce the number of Iranian centrifuges by two-thirds, ban enrichment at key facilities, and limit Iran’s nuclear material stockpile to 300 kg for 15 years. Rather than 2-3 months, the U.S. believes it will now take the Iranians one year to assemble its first nuclear bomb once the provisions of the deal expire down the road.
Writing in The Jerusalem Post last week, Carson criticized Obama’s August 5 speech at American University in Washington, D.C., where the president vigorously defended the Iran deal and lashed out at his critics. Carson asserted Obama used “anti-Semitic themes” throughout his speech . . .

A airstrike has taken out the Islamic State’s second in command, the White House confirmed in a statement on Friday. The strike on Fadhil Ahmad Al-Hayali, also known as Hajji Mutazz, occurred while he was traveling in a vehicle near Mosul in Northern Iraq on Tuesday.
Al-Hayali was an “ISIL Shura Council member and, as the senior deputy to ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was a primary coordinator for moving large amounts of weapons, explosives, vehicles, and people between Iraq and Syria,” said White House NSC spokesman Ned Price.
“Al-Hayali’s death will adversely impact ISIL’s operations given that his influence spanned ISIL’s finance, media, operations, and logistics,” Price added.
Charles Lister, a visiting fellow at the Brookings Doha Center, told the Wall Street Journal that Al-Hayali’s killing indicates the U.S. may have gained significant intelligence gathering capability regarding ISIS. “The killing by itself suggests the U.S. has acquired a top-level source of intelligence capable of providing insight into and infiltrating the uppermost ranks of what is a highly secretive and well protected organization,” he said. The summer has not been kind to Hillary Clinton. The drip-drip-drip of revelations about her possible misuse and mishandling of classified information threatens to become a deluge in the fall. They have taken a serious toll on her reputation — and even more notably, her treatment by liberal media figures who surely would rather she be elected even if the Risen Christ were to be the Republican nominee.
Democrats are worried — so worried five donors who raised millions for President Obama as well as Obama’s chief Florida strategist have both sworn off Hillary and joined an effort to draft Vice President Joe Biden to save the party from an unelectable (or, dare we say it, indicted) nominee.
Should they be worried? Sure. People in politics should always worry, and since she kicked off her presidential campaign by talking about being “dead broke,” Hillary has been a worry-generating machine for any rational non-Pollyanna Democrat who doesn’t live in a Media Matters for America bubble.
But is Joe Biden a serious Plan B? No. There is no Plan B.
First, the case for Democratic panic. We begin with the perception problem. I’m profoundly skeptical about polling results these days, but politics runs on them, and Democrats are looking at polls that suggest Americans as a whole view her as dishonest and untrustworthy — polls in which the numbers are getting worse as the months pass. By Kasey Jackson. It has been a public mantra of Planned Parenthood since the Clinton administration – this idea that abortion should be safe, and legal, but also, as rare as possible. With induced abortion being the most invasive and painful medical procedure available to prevent and/or end an unintended pregnancy, even those that passionately identify as pro-choice agree that preventing an unintended pregnancy is preferred over the need to terminate one. Both pro-life activists and Planned Parenthood affiliates alike publicly celebrate and take credit for the fact that abortion numbers across the United States are at the lowest point since 1973 . . .
I recently had the opportunity to speak with a post-abortive woman by the name of Nancy Tanner who shared her story with the Silent No More Awareness Campaign about her experience at a Washington D.C. Planned Parenthood clinic where she had her abortion:
“I was second-guessing my decision to have the abortion,” Nancy says. “And as I was filling out the paperwork, I saw a permission slip that dealt with the disposal of the ‘products of conception.'”
After reading the permission slip, Nancy realized that the form gave Planned Parenthood permission to donate her fetus for scientific research, and she didn’t feel comfortable signing the form. She says that the nurse must have sensed her uneasiness about signing it, because she recalled that the nurse “asked me if I was an organ donor, and I told her that I was.” Nancy said, “she told me that this (the fetal tissue donation) was of a similar value” . . .
I said I didn’t want to sign it (the fetal tissue donation consent form) and they said I had to or I couldn’t have the abortion. I didn’t want my baby to be used for scientific research and I was told, “Don’t worry, it’s not a baby.” I told her I had two daughters already and I knew what a baby was. She said, “We don’t think its a baby.”

Boehner Aide, Sister of CEO Who Discussed Shipping ‘Intact’ Aborted Baby Parts, Resigns to Join Lobbying Firm
By Michael W. Chapman. Charlotte Ivancic — the older sister of Cate Dyer who runs the biotech company StemExpress, and who discussed and laughed about shipping “intact” aborted baby parts in an undercover video released on Friday – is leaving her position as the health policy adviser to House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to go to work for the lobbying firm Tarplin, Downs & Young.
The resignation of Ivancic–who worked for Boehner and as legal counsel to the House Budget Committee–was announced on August 5, as reported in The Hill.
In late July, StemExpress and its founder and CEO, Cate Dyer, were mentioned in undercover videos of Planned Parenthood’s harvesting of aborted baby parts by the Center for Medical Progress, a pro-life organization.
StemExpress obtained a temporary restraining order on July 28 against the release of any further investigative videos, but that order was lifted on Aug. 21 by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Joanne O’Donnell.
After the restraining order was lifted, the Center for Medical Progress released a new video (on Aug. 21) that includes footage of a luncheon meeting with StemExpress’ Cate Dyer and the investigators who discuss how the procurement, supply, and shipping of aborted baby parts and their tissue operates. The mystery identity of the first heroic passenger to wrestle a weapon from the high-speed train gunman can be disclosed for the first time by The Telegraph.
Mark Moogalian, a 51-year-old professor at the Sorbonne (originally from Virginia), tackled Ayoub El-Khazzani during Friday’s bloody incident aboard an Amsterdam-Paris international service. Mr Moogalian is the previously unnamed man who came to the aid of “Damien A”, 28, a French banker who confronted El-Khazzani.
The pair tackled the Kalashnikov assault rifle off El-Khazzani, who then drew a sidearm and shot Moogalian in the neck before taking back the rifle, his sister has revealed. Read here for more details.
The three Americans and one Brit who were able to tackle and tie up Ayoub El-Khazzani, the gunman, will recieve the Legion of Honour medal, France’s highest civilian honour.
El-Khazzani’s lawyer claims he was homeless and has suggested he was simply trying to commit a robbery. That version of events has been disputed by officials. (Read more from “Another Hero on Paris-Bound Train: U.S. Professor First Tackled AK47 Wielding Jihadist and Was Shot in Neck” HERE)
