Many people have had their computer or smartphone possessed by an evil demon — or at least that’s what it can feel like when some mysterious bug keeps causing an app to crash, or your phone keeps shutting off for no reason.
But if you truly think your electronics have been invaded by an evil spirit, there’s someone who will take your call — Reverend Joey Talley — a Wiccan witch from the San Francisco Bay Area who claims to solve supernatural issues for techies.
The Bay Area has always had a freewheeling spirit, which is part of the reason the tech industry found such a firm foothold there. And tech people are often experimental by nature, gravitating toward promises of an improved life through trial-and-error. This has led to some interesting crossover in San Francisco, with certain tech big shots from companies like Salesforce, Facebook, and Apple seeking out mystic help for conventional problems, SF Weekly reports.
Talley is one of those mystics, a Marin County witch boasting three master’s degrees and over 40 years of experience. Though tech problems are not the only ones Talley tackles, she is routinely called upon to debug people’s tech woes with spiritual energy.
“Most people want me to protect their computers from viruses and hacks,” she told SF Weekly. “So I’ll make charms for them. I like to use flora.” And when there are problems in office hardware, Talley turns to “Jet,” a black stone that serves to block energy. How many more potential Islamic terrorists like Mohammad Youssef Adbulazeer are living freely in this country? And to what extent is our political class going to continue their suicidal policies?
Several months ago, we estimated that roughly 1.62 million individuals from predominantly Muslim countries have emigrated here since 9/11. We counted all of the green cards issued to foreign nationals of 43 countries with either near-100% Muslim population or an overwhelming majority of Muslims. While some of these individuals are likely non-Muslims, we noted that it is a pretty fair estimate of the number of Muslim immigrants and coincides with the Pew estimate of 100,000 million Muslim immigrants per year.
A quick search and tally of the data at the IIE for the same 43 predominantly Muslim countries reveals that 127,332 student visas were granted to students from these same countries. Our government does this every year and the trend is only growing. That means that 14% of the annual student visas are from Muslim countries, an even higher share than immigrant visas relative to the total immigrant population.
By far, the largest number of visas come from Saudi Arabia (remember 9/11?), topping out at 53,919 for the last academic year. As we noted last year, the Saudi government has unlimited funds to pay for their international students, and with no caps on F1 visas, they could theoretically send hundreds of thousands of students here every year.
Iran has sent us over 10,000 foreign students as well. What could go wrong?
Oh, and with Mohammad Youssef Adbulazeer on everyone’s mind, it’s important to note that we’ve admitted 7,288 foreign students from Kuwait for that same academic year.
No wonder Arabic is the fastest growing language on U.S. campuses.
Consider this thought for a moment: the college population is almost exclusively between the ages of 18-25. Given that 36% of American Muslims under the age of 45 believe that violence against America can be justified as part of Global Jihad, what percentage of foreign students during the prime age for Jihad coming straight from the Middle East harbor the same sentiments? In that sense, student visas from the Middle East and North Africa represent an even more direct security threat than immigrant visas.
The rapid increase in Muslim foreign students should also raise concerns in the context of the growing push to bring in more “high skilled” STEM students and workers. Liberals often blame Jihad on poverty and lack of a promising future for Muslim youth, but the reality is that many of these young Jihadis are smart and affluent with promising careers. Just look at the lifestyle of the Chattanooga Jihadi and the fact that he held a degree in electrical engineering.
A huge share of the international students from Muslim countries is enrolled in STEM fields, according to the data compiled by IIE. Seventy-nine percent of Iranian students and 42% of Saudi students were enrolled in STEM programs. So just remember when they discuss bringing in more STEM students and workers, there is a high likelihood we would be importing more security risks.
With this entire region embroiled in Islamic upheaval and the shocking success of the global cyber jihad in radicalizing Muslim youth, why in the world would we self-immolate and bring in so many potential security threats? For some Muslims, it can be hard to buy a house, and Mayor Ed Murray plans to do something about it.
On Monday, Murray’s housing committee released its recommendations for ways the city can increase housing in the city. Most ideas were what you’d expect, including increasing the city’s housing levy and implementing new rules and regulations to foster development of market-rate and lower-income housing.
One suggestion would help followers of Sharia law buy houses. That’s virtually impossible now because Sharia law prohibits payment of interest on loans. The 28-member committee recommended the city convene lenders and community leaders to explore options for increasing access to Sharia-compliant loan products.
More and more lenders are offering Sharia-compliant financing, according to a USA Today report. The sector has grown to more than $1.6 trillion in assets worldwide over the past three decades, and analysts see potential for continued growth as the number of Muslims in the United States and Europe grows.
It’s unclear how many Muslims in Seattle would benefit from Murray’s plan. The Washington state chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) estimates more than 30,000 Muslims live in the greater Seattle area, and Chapter Executive Director Arsalan Bukhari on Tuesday said it’s “fairly common” for some not to seek loans. Syrian Islamic State (IS) supporters have publicly crucified, flogged and caged nearly 100 people accused of breaking the daytime fast observed during the Muslim holy month. UK-based monitor the Syrian Human Rights Observatory (SOHR) yesterday said it had documented 94 such punishment cases for eating in Ramadan, including five children and two old men.
Breitbart News previously reported the case of two boys “crucified” for eating in Ramadan on 23 June in Deir ez-Zour. For IS the punishment does not necessarily mean execution by nailing or tying victims to a cross. The group uses crosses and bars to pose dead bodies as a means of terrorising local populations or as a means of publicly shaming those who breach the tenets of sharia law as interpreted by IS.
In normal circumstances children do not have to fast during Ramadan. They may be encouraged to practice fasting for part of a day or for one day on the weekend, but it only becomes mandatory when they enter puberty.
The 94 cases were recorded between 22 June and 16 July and took place across the IS-held Syrian governorates of Aleppo, Al-Raqqa and Deir ez-Zour. The punishments were administered in streets and squares in front of crowds of spectators, including children, who SOHR says were encouraged to mock the victims. The new nuclear deal with Iran gives Tehran full legitimacy to engage in further atomic work and will set off a regional nuclear and conventional arms race, a senior Israeli official warned on Friday.
Ram Ben Barak said Iran was plainly still determined to break out to the bomb at a time of its choosing, and that its insistence in the deal on preventing inspectors from gaining instant access to suspect facilities, and on winning the right to continue R&D on fast-enrichment centrifuges, demonstrated that the regime remains committed to attaining nuclear weapons.
Ben Barak, who is director general of the Strategic Affairs Ministry and a leading candidate to be the next head of Israel’s Mossad spy agency, told Channel 10 that the 10-year deal between the US-led P5+1 world powers and Iran signed Tuesday, which is aimed at curbing Tehran’s nuclear ambitions in exchange for lifting harsh international sanctions, is “very bad.”
Ben Barak is one of three candidates vying for the coveted position of Mossad chief, contending with current National Security Council chair Yossi Cohen and an unnamed deputy to current Mossad chief Tamir Pardo. Pardo is slated to step down in January 2016.
“This is a very bad deal,” he told Channel 10, “mainly because it gives Iran legitimacy to engage in nuclear work. Artificial intelligence has the potential to be as dangerous to mankind as nuclear weapons, a leading pioneer of the technology has claimed.
Professor Stuart Russell, a computer scientist who has led research on artificial intelligence, fears humanity might be ‘driving off a cliff’ with the rapid development of AI.
He fears the technology could too easily be exploited for use by the military in weapons, putting them under the control of AI systems.
He points towards the rapid development in AI capabilities by companies such as Boston Dynamics, which was recently acquired by Google, to develop autonomous robots for use by the military.
Professor Russell, who is a researcher at the University of California in Berkeley and the Centre for the study of Existential Risk at Cambridge University, compared the development of AI to the work that was done to develop nuclear weapons. An elderly priest was assaulted with his own cane in the parking lot of an East Palo Alto church earlier this week by a suspected methamphetamine user.
Juan Perez, 41, approached 89-year-old priest John Coleman, who was walking with a metal cane in the parking lot of St. Francis De Assisi Church at 1425 Bay Road just before 10 p.m. Monday, according to the district attorney’s office.
Perez allegedly knocked the priest down, took his cane and beat him with it until it broke, prosecutors said. It appears he did not know the victim and there was no reason for the attack.
“I thought I was a goner. All of a sudden this man appeared right there, and very aggressive, yelling, he grabbed me,” Father Coleman said.

By CBS News. A gunman unleashed a barrage of gunfire at two military facilities Thursday in Tennessee, killing four Marines and wounding two other service members and a police officer, officials told CBS News.
The shooter also was killed. Law enforcement sources told CBS News that the shooting suspect was identified as 24-year-old Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. According to a U.S. law enforcement source, Abdulazeez was born in Kuwait and came to the United States in 1996. It’s unclear if and when he became an American citizen.
A U.S. official told CBS News that Abdulazeez was not on law enforcement radar concerning possible terror links or aspirations. The FBI was not aware of him as being any kind of threat.
Officials will try to find out if Abdulazeez was motivated or influenced by ISIS.
The group has been calling for “lone wolf” style attacks in the U.S. on the military and police during the month of Ramadan, which concludes Friday. Over the Fourth of July holiday, federal law enforcement officials warned of the potential for an attack. Islamic Terrorist Kills 4 Marines in Terror Attack Targeting Military in Tennessee
By Robert Richardson. An Islamic Terrorist attacked two military recruiting facilities in Chattanooga, Tennessee today, killing at least four Marines and wounding a soldier and a police officer.
Although the FBI and the mainstream media immediately tried to deny the attack was terror related, there are a number of reports that ISIS associated twitter accounts started tweeting #CHATTANOOGA right before the shooting started. FBI Special Agent in Charge Ed Reinhold said authorities were still investigating a motive.

Famous food companies have been exposed using tissue from aborted babies to make flavor additives in processed foods.
Kraft, PepsiCo, Nestle, work with Semonyx, a California-based that uses aborted embryonic cells to test fake flavoring chemicals.
The aborted human fetal cell line is known as “HEK-293,” and it is used to see how the human palate will react to synthetic flavors. Since most of today’s processed food lacks flavor, companies like Semonyx are hired to develop flavors on their own.

In the past, Republicans have lacked the resolve or desire to fight the Left on issues that are easy to communicate and resonate with the public. Currently the GOP-controlled Congress is silent in the face of violations of religious freedom. They are silent in the face of Obama’s unconstitutional executive amnesty and his release of thousands of criminal illegal aliens. Even the murder of Kate Steinle has not spurred any immediate action on sanctuary cities. In light of the Planned Parenthood video depicting trafficking of organs harvested from aborted babies will the GOP-controlled Congress finally stop taxpayer funds for Planned Parenthood?
In their 2011 Pledge to America, House GOP leadership promised the American people that the new GOP majority would end taxpayer funding for abortion [page 28]. Yet, around 30 separate opportunities have passed to defund Planned Parenthood in relevant budget bills and the GOP controlled House failed to deliver on their promise. Now that there is a GOP Senate, surely taxpayer funding for the organ traffickers at Planned Parenthood will end.
Congressional Republicans are upset about the sale of dismembered baby’s body parts, yet many of those same members had no problem voting for Continuing Resolutions, omnibuses, and other appropriation bills that fully fund the actual dismemberment.
Planned Parenthood has performed 6.8 million abortions since 1970, yet in 2013 45% of their budget ($540 million) came from taxpayers in the form of federal and state grants.
Americans are rightfully outraged over the recent video that surfaced this week revealing how Planned Parenthood harvests and traffics the organs of babies after they engage in gruesome killings. The fact that organs are trafficked after the abortion occurs undercuts pro-abortion proponents’ argument that these babies are a “mass of tissue.” How can mass tissue have organs? How can “something” not alive have organs? The House Judiciary Committee plans to conduct a hearing investigating the extent of this barbaric cartel of murder and illegal trafficking. However, what good is a hearing if the GOP ultimately funds Planned Parenthood in the upcoming budget bill? Spare the nation the pomp and bluster of a congressional hearing where members feign outrage in 30-second sound bites messaged for constituents.
Instead of a hearing, start by ceasing the flow of taxpayer funds to an organization that is incentivized to abort babies to then traffic their organs for profit. Is a congressional hearing really needed to tell us that the act of trafficking dismembered baby’s organs is wrong?
As for the Democrats, what happened to the mantra of “Safe, rare, and legal?” Where are the outraged Democrats? Where is Senator Blumenthal? Who prides himself on once being the top cop in Connecticut and in 2013 objected to the Senate passage of a resolution condemning serial killer Kermit Gosnell?
Sadly, this is yet one more vivid illustration that Democrats do not view abortion as a necessary evil but an ideal that must be defended at all costs. Will they stop at nothing in their defense of abortion?
Step back for a moment and ponder the degree of dyslexia of Democrat priorities and their barometer of morality:
Democrats pound the lecterns in the Senate chamber decrying against the waterboarding of the most horrific terrorists for the purpose of obtaining life-saving intelligence. Yet, they heartlessly ignore the cries of fully-formed babies as their organs are harvested by an organization that receives half its funding from taxpayers.
They shed crocodile tears over lethal injection capital punishment for mass murders but defend every last abortion via suctioning – even those that are coming out of the womb, and in some cases, even after the baby is born. They feign outrage over gas guzzlers for polluting the environment, yet continue to refuse to condemn cold-blooded killers like Kermit Gosnell, the abortion “doctor” who was convicted of killing infants alive and hiding their lifeless bodies in trash bins and jars on shelves.
In the end, to Democrats, it is all about the agenda. And if that means winking and nodding at a modern-day version of Moloch in order to advance that agenda, so be it.
But what about the GOP’s agenda? When will they take a stand? After controlling the purse strings in the House, they have funded Planned Parenthood around 30 times.
With a funding fight brewing for this September and the GOP now controlling both chambers of Congress, it should not be difficult to communicate to America: Democrats are trying to shut down the government in order to fund the trafficking of harvested organs from aborted babies.
Will Planned Parenthood be funded for the 31st time since the GOP recaptured the purse strings?
