The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) jobs report for December counted 74,000 jobs created last month. That was less than half the 200,000 new jobs expected.
Nevertheless, the BLS reported those 74,000 new jobs as reducing at least what it calls the U3 unemployment rate by three tenths of a percentage point, from 7.0% to 6.7%. That was because 347,000 workers fled the work force altogether last month, and so were no longer counted as unemployed.
Those 347,000 workers leaving the workforce altogether were almost 5 times (4.689) the 74,000 new jobs created. But the BLS, and the New York Times, still count that as headline unemployment plummeting on net to 6.7% from 7.0%. In fact, all of the decline in the U3 headline unemployment rate since President Obama entered office has been due to workers leaving the work force, and therefore no longer counted as unemployed, rather than to new jobs created.
Those 347,000 for December, 2013, however, are still out there not working, and suffering. Indeed, they joined a near record of more than 102 million Americans not working in December, all still out there and suffering without jobs. Those 102 million Americans are the human face of an employment-population ratio stuck at a pitiful 58.6%. In fact, more than 100 million Americans were not working in Obama’s workers’ paradise for all of 2013 and 2012.
The 102.159 million Americans not working in December is not the all-time record of Americans not working. That all-time record was set in October, 2013, at 102.896 million. The employment-population ratio that month was an even more pitiful 58.2%. (Read more about the Obamanomics HERE)

By Reuters. Israel’s mayor of Jerusalem and his security guard wrestled a Palestinian attacker to the ground near city hall on Sunday after an ultra-Orthodox Jew was stabbed with a knife at a busy intersection.
Security camera footage showed mayor Nir Barkat, in a white shirt, walk towards the suspect together with his bodyguard and lunge at him, pinning him down on a pedestrian crossing before others took charge and detained the man.
Before Barkat intervened, the distant but distinct black-and-white footage showed a man waving his arm in a stabbing motion and making contact with one individual and attempting to stab others as they waited to cross the road. When they realized what had happened, the pedestrians ran clear . . .
“My bodyguard took out his weapon and when he aimed at the terrorist, the terrorist dropped his knife and we immediately tackled him on the ground to make sure that he cannot continue with the terror attack,” Barkat told reporters shortly afterwards. Palestinian Group Faces $218 Million Fine for Israel Terror
By BBC. A US court in New York has found the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority liable for attacks in Israel over 10 years ago.
Six attacks in and around Jerusalem killed 33 people and wounded hundreds more during the second Palestinian intifada between 2002 and 2004.
The jury awarded victims of the attacks more than $218 million.
The Palestinian groups expressed dismay at the court’s decision and vowed they would appeal.
As some of the victims were American citizens, the lawsuit was filed in a US court. (Read more from this story HERE)

By Norvell Rose. He’s literally an overnight sensation — a Georgia middle school student named CJ Pearson who posted a YouTube video on Saturday in defense of Rudy Giuliani’s controversial contention that Barack Obama doesn’t love America.
As the former New York City mayor continues to find himself at the center of a swirling firestorm of liberal criticism mixed with utter derision and even death threats, here comes a homemade video from a remarkably well spoken 12-year-old who’s got Rudy’s back.
The video in which young Mr. Pearson “applauds” Giuliani as he calls out Obama for his “downright hate” of American values has logged more than 300,000 views as of this writing. A quick analysis shows the view count for the piece entitled “President Obama: Do you really love America?” is climbing by the hundreds every few minutes. (Read more about the rebuke of Obama HERE)
Rudy Giuliani Receiving Death Threats for Obama Comments
By Jim Acosta. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said his office has received death threats since his controversial comments accusing President Barack Obama of not loving America.
“My secretary has received some death threats,” Giuliani said in a brief interview by phone. But the former mayor emphasized the majority of the voice mails left at his office were supportive of his remarks. Giuliani did not say whether he alerted police to the threatening calls. CNN cannot confirm whether the threats were made.
As for his initial remarks that ignited the firestorm, spoken at a private dinner for Wisconsin’s Republican Gov. Scott Walker, a potential 2016 presidential contender, Giuliani offered no apologies.
“I don’t regret making the statement. I believe it,” Giuliani said. “I don’t know if he loves America,” he added. (Read more from this story HERE)

It’s not surprising that Southeast Asia is home to countless ancient Buddha statues, but when one of those statues contains a mummified monk, that is certainly a surprise.
A mummified monk is exactly what researchers at Norway’s Meander Medical Center found when they placed a 1,000-year-old Chinese Buddha statue inside a CT scanner. Researchers believe the statue contains the body of a Buddhist master named Liuquan, who may have practiced the tradition of “self-mummification” to reach his final resting place. . .
Scientists and medical staff performed the CT scan that revealed Liuquan’s mediating body in full detail. They also used an endoscope to examine the abdominal cavity of the mummy inside, and they discovered that the organs had been removed and replaced with paper scraps that were printed with ancient Chinese characters. It isn’t clear what specifically was written on those paper scraps.
If you were a monk that wanted to achieve enlightenment and be revered as a “living Buddha,” self-mummification was your brutal option. Monks on this spiritual path would starve themselves for almost a decade, subsisting on water, seeds and nuts. Then, they’d be sealed inside the statue and ingest roots, pine bark and a toxic, tree sap-based tea for another 1,000 days — eating and breathing through a small tube. Eventually death would come, and monks mummified in this manner were said to have reached enlightenment. (Read more about the find inside the acient Buddha statue HERE)

By Stoyan Zaimov. Brandan Robertson, national spokesperson for the LGBT advocacy group Evangelicals for Gay Marriage, claims that Christian publisher Destiny Image canceled his upcoming book project because he came out as gay. Destiny Image on the other hand has said that the decision was purely financial-based.
“There is much consideration for every book, every author, but the final determination is financial viability,” said Don Nori, CEO of Destiny Image’s parent company, Nori Media Group, according to Time magazine.
Robertson claimed that Destiny Image had concerns that evangelical bookstores wouldn’t carry the book, the manuscript for which is titled Nomad: Not-So-Religious Thoughts on Faith, Doubt, and the Journey In Between.
The script apparently mentions the word “gay” online once, where Robertson writes: “One high school biology class is all that it takes to begin asking some serious questions about the book of Genesis and the origins of humanity. One conversation with a close friend who is struggling to be gay and Christian is all that it takes to begin wondering if the interpretation of Leviticus we heard in Sunday school is actually applicable in today’s context. One life shattering tragedy is all that it takes to begin rethinking the whole notion of the ‘sovereignty’ of God.” (Read more from “Homosexual Author Claims Discrimination” HERE)

By Allen West. It didn’t take long before the aggrieved and disadvantaged members of the Somali Islamic terrorist group al-Shabaab to send a clear message. You remember those fellas who attacked a large mall in Nairobi, Kenya? Yes, I know, we can hardly remember last week unless it has something to do with the Kardashians.
Well, I’m quite certain this will get the attention of the Kardashians and other avid shoppers. Now Islamic terrorists are threatening to attack malls.
I know President Obama stated last week that we’re not at war with Islam, codifying that as an “ugly lie.” He was adamant about not declaring this as some Holy War. I suppose we should just push it aside that during that Kenyan mall attack, the al-Shabaab members reportedly asked patrons if they were Muslim or Christian — and we know what happened to the Christians.
Hey, following along the thought process of Marie Harf, perhaps al-Shabab members were upset because Christians were being hired at the mall? Or maybe because there were sales in stores for Christians only — after all we must embrace their grievances and empathize with the enemy. Ok, that was egregious sarcasm, but it also displays the absurdity of the comments from the Obama administration this past week and the summit on “Countering Violent Extremism.”
As reported by Fox News, “A new video from al-Shabaab purportedly shows the terror group calling for an attack on Mall of America, in Bloomington, Minn. According to Fox 9, the mall is one of three similar targets the terror group specifically names, including West Edmonton Mall in Canada and the Oxford Street shopping area in London. The video purportedly shows 6 minutes of graphic images and the terrorists celebrating the 2013 Westgate Mall attack in Nairobi, Kenya, that killed more than 60 people. “We will continue to monitor events with the help of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies,” Mall of America said in a statement. “As always, we take any potential threat seriously and respond appropriately. Mall of America has implemented extra security precautions, some may be noticeable to guests, and others won’t be. We will continue to follow the situation, along with law enforcement, and will remain vigilant as we always do in similar situations.” (Read more about the threat on American malls HERE)
Forget the Terrorists: Malls Already Under Attack from Black Mob Violence
By Colin Flaherty. Since the Christmas season, at least 25 malls around the country have experienced black mob violence, many connected to movie theaters. With much of the mayhem captured on video. With many of the malls turning into No Go Zones because of the regular racial violence and the muted response to it.
Let’s list these attacks, starting with the latest and working back. The first three are from Valentine’s Day:
At Pittsfield Township, near Ann Arbor, more than 100 black people attacked patrons and police and destroyed property, first at a movie theater, then an arcade, then a restaurant. Two were arrested.
At Ocoee, Florida, near Orlando, 800 to 1000 black people tried to rush into a theater without paying, then created violence in the lobby and the parking lot, where they defied police, destroyed property and assaulted others.
At Conyers, Georgia, 300 black people rioted at a mall movie theater, yelling, screaming, threatening to kill moviegoers. One was arrested. An “irate and hostile” crowd threatened police after one was arrested for drugs and weapons violations. The local media reported theaters are the site of frequent black mob violence because “often, the teens have nowhere else to go,” said the Newton Citizen. (Read more from this story HERE)

Today we are on the precipice of determining whether Alaska should follow the guidance of Commissioner of Education, Michael Hanley and Alaska School Board President Esther Cox as they direct our entire educational K-12 foundation to align with the national and international standards and curriculum of Common Core.
Certainly, there are convincing arguments that there should be standards of achievement for students and that there should be a method of assessment periodically throughout what is commonly held as the “formal years of education.” The argument evolves into a sense that without these standards, our Alaskan children will not be able to properly compete with all citizens for work in a global market.
And certainly, one can argue that our current educational standards are subpar both globally (ranked 26th in the world) and nationally (Alaska~ 39th overall) which are issues we need to take into account specifically when Alaska spends more money per capita, per student than anywhere in the world at approximately $22,000.00 per student. When you factor in the Taj Mahal brick and mortar structures , we have no financial competition. We get the financial “Blue Ribbon” with very little accountability, which brings me to my next point…
Most people do not know that the Commissioner of Education does not answer to the Governor in the state of Alaska. To add insult to injury, neither does the Alaska School board. These are officials who are appointed through the legislature and do not answer directly to the electorate. I find it fascinating that the most important resource Alaska has is directed by administrators who are not directly accountable to “We the People.” Perhaps, this is why we get the results we have, which brings me to my next point…
Esther Cox ~ President of the Alaska School Board recently made remarks in the House Education Committee hearing when asked what implementing Common Core standards would cost the state over a period of ten years, Ms. Cox answered:
“I could not possibly answer that question. I don’t live and breathe this daily as do those through the department.”
Commissioner of Education, Michael Hanley has made statements all over the map regarding whether the State of Alaska is Common Core compliant, and whether or not our children’s personal data has been shipped away to a national database. His changing testimony over the last few years has been less than stellar and one could certainly argue extremely deceptive and definitely not forthright and transparent.
Through it all, even a passive observer will come away with a sense that the education network in Alaska is run by a very selective “education cartel.”
Generally speaking, the Alaska legislature has had somewhat of a “hands off” approach in directing educational policy, and those few legislators who have actively engaged in the promotion of ideas of educational excellence seem to be met with some form of ostracizing as “educational zealots.” One comes away with a sense that the professionals are in place to promote the monopoly of an average educational experience and nothing more which brings me to my next point…
Common Core is being “sold” to the Alaskan legislature and to the citizen’s of Alaska as the “new” best way forward. I find it disconcerting that Bill Gates recently stated that Common Core is a 10 year experiment. One must wonder if we should expend an entire generation of our children on an educational experiment cooked up in the “Bill and Belinda Gates” education kitchen, but I divert…
Common Core is actually similar to the same national conversation we are having regarding global warming or it’s new label, “Climate Change.” There is a fascinating similarity especially here in Alaska for instead of Commissioner Hanley calling our standards “Common Core” he just promotes them as “Alaska Standards” but any reasonable assessment would indicate that they are 95% compliant to Common Core , so much so that the federal government has been willing to shovel some educational dollars into our coffers all with the idea that we will be a “good little state” and be compliant. Why do I hear that catchy tune from the movie Chicago playing in my head….” Give them the old Razzle Dazzle…” which brings me to my final point..
We are on the verge of an educational explosion based on technology. Today we have the opportunity to deliver a massive array of educational packages that are interactive in real time for pennies on the dollar. We can either embrace this new technology and begin directing the definition of excellence in educational content, or be bound to the convention of the “horse and buggy” of Common Core which is simply put, reinventing the same experiment which has given us questionable results. Recently, the “education cartel” passed legislation that “distance learning” or internet educational content must come from Alaska based educators. Given this notion, if Albert Einstein were alive today and wanted to provide Alaskan children with physics lessons via the cyber world, he would be turned down unless he wanted to take up residence in Alaska. This is an excellent example how decisions are made inside the narrow confines of the “cartel.”
For me, it is a clear picture. On one hand, we can continue to assist in the development of a condensed curriculum of educational content controlled by a select few for their own proprietary reasons which is generally associated with force, fraud and money, or we can embrace the open source market and explore all the options available to direct educational content truly as a learning tool instead of the convention of the global model which simply exists to socialize our citizens to “fit” into a global construct.
Is there any reason why any motivated student cannot accelerate at their own pace far beyond the convention of any “minimum standards” of education. Don’t we owe our very intellectual existence to assist in the development of true “brain power” based on the spirit of an individual and their desire to want more than the conventions of an educational cartel working on a “Common Core” design in the backwater of an archaic workshop simply to move the money around within their legions?
Our constitution was written for the individual to protect our personal liberties from an oppressive government. At the very least, shouldn’t our education construct reinforce the strength of our individual nature in assisting us to reach for the stars? Is our educational salvation going to find it’s greatest achievement in social doctrine?
I say we are on the shore of a great educational journey. We should not lack the common sense it will take to reclaim our destiny. “Common Core” is nothing but an expensive and embellished anchor. One we do not have the luxury to afford.
To accept the nomination of Commissioner Michael Hanley and President Esther Cox is to purchase the anchor. We deserve better

By Jonathan J. Cooper. Kate Brown was sworn in Wednesday as Oregon’s governor following an influence-peddling scandal that prompted the resignation of fellow Democrat John Kitzhaber, who had been the state’s longest-serving chief executive before his swift fall from grace.
Brown assumed Oregon’s highest office during a ceremony at the state Capitol. Brown, formerly the secretary of state, becomes the first openly bisexual governor in the nation.
In a speech to the Legislature after her swearing-in, Brown praised Kitzhaber for his contributions but also said “we must restore the public’s trust.”
“There is a great deal of work ahead of us, and I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to it,” she said in a brief address.
Meanwhile, Kitzhaber, in one of his final acts as governor, commuted the prison sentence of a young inmate who’s serving a 12-year sentence for attempted murder and other charges. (Read more about the first open bisexual governor HERE)
Governor of Alabama: I Will Disobey God’s Law and Obey Gay Marriage Law
By Christian News. The governor of Alabama, who formerly served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at the Baptist church where he remains a member, says that he will obey the recent federal court ruling striking down the state’s Sanctity of Marriage Act as being unconstitutional.
Gov. Robert Bentley told Politico on Friday while attending a meeting of the National Governor’s Association in Washington, D.C. that he believes he must obey the courts even if he disagrees with them personally.
“[I would] never do anything to disobey a federal court ruling,” he told the outlet when asked about last month’s same-sex “marriage” decision, which Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore has called on others to fight.
“We are a nation under laws,” Bentley said. “We may not always agree with them, but we obey them.”
The governor, who attends First Baptist Church Tuscaloosa, additionally told AlabamaNews that while he and Moore have the same convictions, they differ when it comes to compliance with federal court rulings. He said that he would not punish probate judges who decided to issue same-sex “marriage” licenses, nor those who have refused to do so, but will wait to hear from the U.S. Supreme Court on the issue. By WND. A new set of rules soon to be issued by the Obama administration would require faith-based charities to provide abortions to child refugees entering the U.S. without their parents.
Organizations working to help resettle the children contend the rules are a violation of the conscience rights of faith-based groups and a contravention of the rights of parents.
The rules would require charitable organizations, including faith-based groups that help resettle refugee children, to make referrals for emergency contraception or to partner with groups that provide abortions. The groups also have the option of notifying the federal government, which would then make arrangements for abortions.
Failure to follow the rules means the groups would no longer be eligible for federal aid. They must comply no later than June 24.
The new rules are being fast-tracked in what some are calling elusive methods. (Read more about Obama forcing Christian charities to provide abortions HERE)
Major Songwriter Composes Beautiful Song for Unborn Son
By Sarah Zagorski. Singer Sam Martin who co-wrote Maroon 5’s top 10 single “Daylight,” David Guetta’s “Dangerous,” One Direction’s “Change Your Ticket,” and Nick Jonas’ “Wilderness,” wrote a beautiful song about his unborn son. Martin said that when he first found out that his wife was pregnant and saw his son’s heartbeat in an ultrasound, he was moved to compose a song.
His son is due on March 19th. Martin said, “The lyric came right then — ‘I’m going to love you anyway.’ I almost started crying just singing it over and over again. … It was a spiritual experience.” Two months later he finished the full chorus and verses.
Amazing Viral Video Shows Unborn Baby Playing in Mommy’s Tummy
By Christina Martin. He’s jumping! He looks like a frog.”
Those adorable comments were spoken by a young child watching a preborn baby on an ultrasound screen. In this video posted on YouTube, you can see this baby jump and move around in it’s mother’s womb. It’s a powerful image. So powerful in fact, that it currently has over 500,000 views.
The mother, Sherine Gayle-Slater responded to people who commented on the video. When users told her how priceless her baby was and asked her how far along she was in the ultrasound, she wrote:
I think I was somewhere between 8-12 weeks pregnant because I could not feel her movements. If it wasn’t for the sono, I would not believe it. Thank you, as well. She’s an absolute joy.

By Brian Anderson. With six years of Obama disrespecting our heritage, playing identity politics, and destroying our sovereignty, this was inevitable: patriotism now equals racism. Fans at a high school girls basketball game in Texas have been accused of racism becuase they were chanting “USA, USA, USA!”
See, it’s all in the context. Apparently, Idalou High School, whose fans were chanting, is predominantly white, while the team they were playing, Slaton High School, is predominantly Hispanic. I guess the Slaton ballers must all be illegal aliens or something, because I still can’t see why this is an issue.
Slaton Superintendent Julee Becker took issue with the chant however, explaining to My San Antonio why this was such a horrible incident:
“I believe that we are a microcosm in schools of greater society. That’s what we are. The symptoms of racism, they run deep, said Becker. (Read more about the ‘racism’ at the Texas high school HERE)

Faculty at Texas High School Apologize to Students for ‘USA’ Chants
By Phil Terrigno. Slaton Superintendent Julee Becker confirmed Slaton has not filed a formal complaint with the UIL regarding the incident and said that “in some ways, this is a bigger deal than the UIL” . . .
Idalou Superintendent Jim Waller issued a written apology in addition to speaking with Slaton administrators but also said no students will be disciplined. . .
“I was not aware of anything about that until it was brought to my attention by someone else about what had happened at some other schools,” Waller said in a phone interview. “I immediately apologized to the (Slaton) superintendent. I emailed this morning a written apology and called an administrators meeting.”
In that apology, Waller wrote: “I apologize to Slaton ISD and the chanting will not be allowed to continue at games because of the perception that it creates. We understand competitiveness and school excitement and support, but we need to be supportive in our words to our team and not use words that may be interpreted as insensitive to an opposing team” . . .
Becker said she plans to address the Slaton students and community about the incident because “they deserve to know that we won’t let it go. We don’t tolerate racism in our schools.” (Read more from this story HERE)
