Any Cheese To Go With This Whine? Obama Responds to Boehner’s Lawsuit Against Him (+video)

By Jennifer Van Laar.

President Obama’s sick of those big mean bullies in Congress, and he’s not taking it anymore.

After House Speaker John Boehner announced yesterday that he is pursuing legal action against him over his use of executive power, Obama lashed out at the GOP:

President Barack Obama pointed his finger squarely back at congressional Republicans on Friday, stating that their historic inaction prompted him to go it alone to address the nation’s problems.

“They don’t do anything except block me and call me names,” Obama said in a speech on the economy at Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

You Know How They Say The Divorce Rate In The Church Is 50%? Prepare To Be Shocked…

Photo Credit: Western Journalism It is commonly thought that the rate of divorce in the church is the same as the rate of divorce among those outside the church, supposedly a whopping 50 percent. According to Harvard-trained researcher Shaunti Feldhahn, though, the rate of divorce among church attenders is “maybe 15 percent, maybe 20 percent for all marriages.”

Feldhahn could find no actual evidence that the divorce rate in society at large and the church was an abysmal 50 percent. She spent eight years seeking the truth in this matter, and she came to dramatically different conclusions from what “common knowledge” describes. Feldhahn produced a book called The Good News About Marriage to debunk the discouraging notion that divorce in the church is around 50 percent.

Feldhahn describes the discouraged attitude many in the church had because of the false statistic:

For the average person in the congregation, there’s this subtle feeling like, ‘If that’s true: if on something as important as marriage, doing what the Bible says doesn’t change anything; what does that mean about the Bible?

Clinton Bristled at Benghazi Deception

Photo Credit: Getty ImagesIn his new book, “Blood Feud,” journalist Edward Klein gets inside the dysfunctional, jealous relationship between Bill and Hillary Clinton and Barack and Michelle Obama. Here, he explains what happened the night of the Benghazi attack.

By 10 p.m. on Sept. 11, 2012, when Hillary Clinton received a call from President Obama, she was one of the most thoroughly briefed officials in Washington on the unfolding disaster in Benghazi, Libya.

She knew that Ambassador Christopher Stevens and a communications operator were dead, and that the attackers had launched a well-coordinated mortar assault on the CIA annex, which would cost the lives of two more Americans.

She had no doubt that a terrorist attack had been launched against America on the anniversary of 9/11. However, when Hillary picked up the phone and heard Obama’s voice, she learned the president had other ideas in mind. With less than two months before Election Day, he was still boasting that he had al Qaeda on the run.

If the truth about Benghazi became known, it would blow that argument out of the water.

AWKWARD: CNBC Host Accidentally Outs Apple CEO As Gay

Photo Credit: Daily Caller There was an uncomfortable moment of silence on the CNBC panel during “Squawk on the Street” on Friday.

New York Times columnist and CNBC contributor Jim Stewart was talking about his latest column, “Among Gay CEOs, the Pressure to Conform,” in which he described former B.P. chief executive John Browne’s experience as a closet gay executive.

Stewart said the current corporate culture prevents gay CEOs from coming out in public.

Miller Changes Minds with Debate Performance

GOP US. Senate Debate Anchorage – Aim, Inc.

Joe Miller turned in a strong performance at last night’s GOP U.S. Senate debate in Anchorage. The event was was sponsored by KVNT and KOAN and organized by the Anchorage Republican Women’s Club. One political analyst, who had been a critic and published an article with Politico this past spring stating why Miller could not win, reversed course.

During a TV news interview following the debate last night in Anchorage, he described Miller’s performance as “impressive” and when questioned who won said, “To be honest with you, I believe Joe Miller helped himself the most. I plead guilty to writing him off a year ago. But his candidacy is alive and well. I thought his performance tonight really showed that.” His conclusion, “It’s anyone’s race.” This analysis matched those of other pundits and attendees of the debate.

“Joe established himself as the true principle-driven constitutional conservative in the race and demonstrated why he is the one best able to take on and defeat Mark Begich this fall,” said Miller campaign spokesman Randy DeSoto. “He is committed to going to Washington and helping reverse our nation’s current disastrous direction. His two Establishment opponents’ record and even campaign rhetoric point to a willingness to play the Washington game.”

Major differences on amnesty, the role of international law, the future of the IRS, and foreign policy came into clear relief during last night’s debate. Miller opposes amnesty, believes our Constitution must remain the unchallenged law of the land (and that we must not yield to the forces of internationalism). As someone who has seen war, Miller believes our military must be the strongest on earth and used only in defense of our vital national interests. He does not believe the Founders intended for us to be involved in nation-building: the price in life and treasure is too high, and the results are often contrary to our country’s intended goals. Miller’s opponents stand on the opposite side on these issues. (View a candidate comparison HERE.)

In his closing statement, Miller responded to the question why he is running for U.S. Senate stating, “If America falls, there is no place else to go.” We must preserve this last bastion of liberty for ourselves and future generations.

U.N. Experts Trace Recent Seized Arms to Iran, Violating Embargo

Photo Credit: REUTERS / HEINZ-PETER BADERA U.N. expert panel has concluded that a shipment of rockets and other weapons that was seized by Israel came from Iran and represents a violation of the U.N. arms embargo on Tehran, according to a confidential report obtained by Reuters on Friday.

The finding comes just days ahead of the next round of negotiations in Vienna between Iran and six world powers aimed at securing a deal that would gradually lift international sanctions on Tehran — including the arms embargo — in exchange for curbs on the controversial Iranian nuclear program.

Despite Israel’s public statements that the seized arms were destined for Gaza — an allegation that Gaza’s governing Islamist militant group Hamas dismissed as a fabrication — the experts said the weapons were being sent to Sudan.

The experts do not speculate in the report about why the arms were being sent to Sudan, a country which Western diplomatic and intelligence sources have told Reuters has in the past been a conduit for Iranian arms shipments to other locations in Africa, as well as the Gaza Strip.

The experts said the Israeli U.N. mission wrote to the U.N. Iran Sanctions Committee on March 13 about “the transfer of rockets, mortars and related materiel from Iran to Sudan.”

Report: GOP Spends $9.7 Million to Attack Republicans – But Only $3.7 Million to Attack Democrats

Photo Credit: TeaPartyUpdate.comIf you needed more proof that the Establishment is hell-bent on attacking Tea Party candidate, a report on campaign expenditures confirms it. Or as comedian Bill Engvall says, “Here’s your sign.”

A recent study by the Center For Public Integrity revealed that from January 1 through May 6, Republican PACs and outside groups have spent about $9.7 million attacking Republican candidates in advertisements and other communications, and only around $3.7 million to attack Democrats. Democratic groups have only spent $67,000 attacking other Democrats.

What’s caused this turbocharged increase in campaign spending? Political animosity between the Tea Party and GOP Establishment and a Supreme Court decision. In January 2010, the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission ruling allowed corporations and labor unions to spend unlimited amounts of money on ads and other communication to advocate for the election (or defeat) of a political candidate. Campaign spending was ruled to be a form of speech, protected by the Constitution for both individuals and corporations.

The decision didn’t affect contributions, as it’s still illegal for unions and corporations to make direct contributions to candidates for federal office. However, it’s opened the financial floodgates for SuperPACs and other groups to raise money and make independent expenditures for federal races across the country.

Study: All Employment Growth Since 2000 Went to Immigrants

Photo Credit: David McNewBy NRO Staff.

According to a major new report from the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), net employment growth in the United States since 2000 has gone entirely to immigrants, legal and illegal. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, CIS scholars Steven A. Camarota and Karen Zeigler found that there were 127,000 fewer working-age natives holding a job in the first quarter of 2014 than in 2000, while the number of immigrants with a job was 5.7 million above the 2000 level…

Other significant findings include:

Because the native-born population grew significantly, but the number working actually fell, there were 17 million more working-age natives not working in the first quarter of 2014 than in 2000.

The share of natives working or looking for work, referred to as labor force participation, shows the same decline as the employment rate. In fact, labor force participation has continued to decline for working-age natives even after the jobs recovery began in 2010.

Patriots Hotline Founder: We’re Forming a Human Chain to Stop Illegals

By Sean Piccoli.

Militia members and other concerned U.S. citizens are converging on the border town of Laredo, Texas, on Friday to create a blockade against illegal immigrants crossing into the United States, the organizer of the human chain and protest said on Newsmax TV’s “MidPoint.”

“This will continue for days and weeks to come” and spread “to other points” along the U.S.-Mexico frontier, Barbie Rogers, founder of the Patriots Information Hotline, said in a telephone interview.

Rogers declined to give an exact head count beyond “more than 50 people” or reveal whether participants are armed, citing worries about their security.

But she said blockaders will follow the same rules of engagement as protesters in an April standoff between federal officials and Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy.

“Just like at the Bundy ranch, there will be no patriot out there on that line that will fire first,” Rogers said.

Government Watchdog Group Takes Legal Action Against IRS Over Lost Emails (+video)

Photo Credit: APThe government accountability group Judicial Watch filed a legal motion Friday that threatens to drag the Obama administration into federal court to answer questions about the lost emails of ex-IRS official Lois Learner and others implicated in the tea party targeting scandal.

Judicial Watch, which was at the forefront of exposing the targeting scandal, had filed a Freedom of Information Act request in May 2013 for emails of Ms. Lerner and other officials. But the IRS did not inform the group of the lost emails, even as it told the court that it was cooperating with the FOIA request.

“The IRS is clearly in full cover-up mode,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “It is well past time for the Obama administration to answer to a federal court about its cover-up and destruction of records.”

ATF Backs Down on Gun Sale Reports

Photo Credit: Getty ImagesFor nearly three years, federally-licensed firearms dealers (“FFLs”) in southern border states have been badgered by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (“ATF”) to report sales of two or more rifles to the same person during any consecutive five-day period. Purporting to need this information to stop arms trafficking in and out of Mexico, ATF issued so-called “demand letters” to require indefinite reporting of multiple rifle sales by thousands of dealers, treating the independent FFL businessmen as though they were government employees.

ATF has no authority to require these reports. Although the Gun Control Act of 1968 authorizes ATF to issue demand letters, these were to be issued only when ATF is investigating certain specific buyers or specific FFLs, and this is how they were used for many years. They were not designed to impose a new permanent reporting requirement on dealers.

Moreover, in the Gun Control Act, Congress decided to require reporting only of multiple handgun sales, but not rifle sales. However, instead of taking its case to Congress to change the law and enact legislation requiring reporting on rifle sales, ATF took the law into its own hands.

In 2010, alleging that many of the guns sold by FFLs in the border states of Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, and California were being seized in Mexico, ATF required that every FFL in the border states report all multiple sales of rifles. ATF was challenged on this in court, but the courts sided with the ATF.
