WATCH: Miller Challenges Opponents to Sign No-Amnesty Pledge

Today Joe Miller issued a challenge to his primary opponents to sign a no-amnesty pledge, blocking a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens.

“My opponents have been unwilling to make a commitment on this crucial issue,” said Miller. “Ultimately, it goes beyond whether or not the folks crossing the border are rewarded for their illegal behavior. It is a matter of national integrity, security, the rule of law, and whether we have the will to survive as a sovereign nation.”

A signed copy of the pledge was delivered to the Anchorage headquarters of Dan Sullivan and Mead Treadwell this afternoon. Miller is calling on Sullivan and Treadwell to put America first and protect American workers.

Miller concluded, “It’s time to move beyond political posturing and special favors for special interests. This is an opportunity for Dan Sullivan and Mead Treadwell to show Alaskans that they’re listening. I hope they’ll stand up to the Democrat political machine and big corporate interests who are acting against the interests of the people.”

Joe Miller is a husband, father, grandfather, combat veteran, and advocate of Constitutional liberty who believes in individual rights, private property, free markets and the sanctity of human life.

Treadwell Campaign Caught Stealing Alaskan Artist’s Work

Alaskan artist Victoria Schultz sent a “Cease and Desist” letter through her attorney to the Mead Treadwell campaign today, after it was caught infringing on her copyrighted material. Ms. Schultz drew a political cartoon, which appeared in the Frontiersman newspaper earlier this week, depicting the election year transformation of candidate Treadwell. The cartoon clearly has her copyright notice and name included; however, the Treadwell campaign took the image, altered it and portrayed it as their own.

Ms. Schultz captured Treadwell’s actions, which indicate he has been far less conservative than his election year rhetoric. He is on record favoring amnesty for illegal aliens. He does not support the impeachment of Barack Obama, despite the President’s blatant violations of the Constitution and abuse of executive authority.

The Lieutenant Governor is a proponent of man-made global warming and the UN Law of the Sea Treaty, which gives that body the authority to directly tax and regulate American citizens for the first time ever. Treadwell also blocked a pro-life initiative from the ballot and contributed over thirty times to pro-abortion candidates.

After being contacted by Ms. Schultz’s attorney, the Treadwell campaign took down her property from their campaign site.

Miller campaign spokesman Randy DeSoto said, “I am not surprised by the Treadwell campaign’s actions. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery; I wouldn’t be surprised if the Lieutenant Governor tries to grow a beard before this thing is over. Treadwell can try to sound like Joe Miller, even look like him, but as Alaskans learn his record, they are realizing he is no Joe Miller. Joe is the only true conservative running for U.S. Senate in the Last Frontier. That is a fact that the Treadwell campaign will not be able to steal.”

One Republican Congressman “hit the right nerve” Friday night — and found himself facing the wrath of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

ABC News called it “an unusual breach of decorum.”

As he spoke about the border funding bill Friday, Rep. Tom Marino accused Democrats of making the border a political issue after doing nothing while they controlled the House, Senate and White House.

“You know something that I find quite interesting about the other side?” Marino said. “Under the leadership of the former Speaker [Pelosi], and under the leadership of their former leader [Rep. Steny Hoyer], when in 2009 and 2010, they had the House, the Senate and the White House, and they knew this problem existed. They didn’t have the strength to go after it back then. But now are trying to make a political issue out of it now.”

His comments incited Pelosi to charge across the floor and challenge him.

Geraldo Rivera: Scare Tactics, Public Hysteria Only Deepen Immigration Crisis

Shame on Matt Drudge. The owner/operator of the world’s most influential news-aggregating website, The Drudge Report has torn a page from the William Randolph Hearst yellow journalism playbook to fan the flames of public hysteria about the surge of undocumented children immigrating to the United States.

On Tuesday of this week, with explosive world crises involving Gaza and Ukraine dominating the news elsewhere, the first 15 stories on The Drudge Report and his banner headline all concerned that adolescent immigrant surge across our southern border.

His millions of subscribers would be justified in thinking these undocumented immigrant children posed the greatest threat to our way of life since the 1918 Influenza Pandemic, the Great Depression or the Civil War.

Particularly egregious was the fifteenth story on Drudge’s melancholy list, one concerning the potential spread of the deadly Ebola virus. Although the story actually focused on the disease’s outbreak in West Africa, Drudge’s clever placement on his list of related stories was clearly meant to convey the message that a brown tidal wave of adolescent Walking Dead-like, filthy and infected immigrant ragamuffins was bringing the dread killer virus across the Rio Grande.

Israel Didn’t Expect This Miracle Just Seconds Before A Hamas Rocket Almost Killed Hundreds

An Israeli commander claimed that hundreds of Israeli lives were saved recently when “the hand of God” stopped a Hamas rocket.

The Israeli commander described the attack on a Hebrew-language website:

A missile was fired from Gaza. Iron Dome precisely calculated [its trajectory]. We know where these missiles are going to land down to a radius of 200 meters. This particular missile was going to hit either the Azrieli Towers, the Kirya (Israel’s equivalent of the Pentagon) or [a central Tel Aviv railway station]. Hundreds could have died.

We fired the first [interceptor]. It missed. Second [interceptor]. It missed. This is very rare. I was in shock. At this point we had just four seconds until the missile lands. We had already notified emergency services to converge on the target location and had warned of a mass-casualty incident.

Suddenly, Iron Dome (which calculates wind speeds, among other things) shows a major wind coming from the east, a strong wind that … sends the missile into the sea. We were all stunned. I stood up and shouted, ‘There is a God!’

MSNBC reporter Chris Jansing claimed President Barack Obama’s keen interest in this week’s African leadership summit stems from the fact that “he’s from Kenya” — an assertion that took over ten minutes for her to reverse.

Jansing spoke to MSNBC’s Joy Reid about the ongoing meeting of American and African leaders in Washington D.C. “The White House is clearly, I would assume, hoping this will be part of the president’s legacy, given his background,” Reid said.

“Yeah, the fact that he’s from Kenya,” Jansing replied breezily. “And the fact that when he was elected there were expectations on the African continent that he would do great things for them.”

IRS Quietly Abolishes Mandatory Expiration Dates For Illegal Immigrants’ Taxpayer Status

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) quietly changed regulations to allow more undocumented immigrants to keep their taxpayer status through a program that is rife with fraud and abuse, and to delay deactivation of immigrant taxpayer status until 2016.

The IRS now prevents peoples’ Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) from automatically expiring after five years as previously mandated. Now immigrants can keep their ITIN so long as they pay taxes at least once in a five-year period.

The ITIN program is primarily used by undocumented workers to follow the law and file income taxes in the United States. Reports came out during the IRS scandal linking ITIN fraud to billions in lost taxpayer dollars. The IRS was forced to reform the ITIN program at the start of 2013 – but this new regulation undoes that reform.

“The IRS will not deactivate an ITIN that has been used on at least one tax return in the past five years,” the IRS said in an explainer of the new policy. “To give all interested parties time to adjust and allow the IRS to reprogram its systems, the IRS will not begin deactivating ITINs until 2016…The new, more uniform policy applies to any ITIN, regardless of when it was issued.”

Border Agent: ‘Morale Is at an All-Time Low Right Now’

Teenage criminals and gang members from Central America have been using “a loophole” to stay in the country, border agent Chris Cabrera revealed. Under current policy, unaccompanied minors are allowed to stay in the country if they have family in the United States and say they have none in their home country, regardless of their background.

“Even if he is a confirmed gang member, a confirmed criminal, even by self-admission, we for some reason don’t send them back to their home country — we release them into our country,” Cabrera said.

Nearly 100 Bodies Of Deceased Immigrants Found In Arizona Desert Since October

The U.S. Border Patrol has found the bodies of 97 undocumented immigrants in the Arizona desert over the past 10 months, the latest being that of a 19-year-old youth.

“We got a call from a man asking for help. He told us he was crossing the mountains with his son who was hit by lightning. When the agents arrived he was already dead,” Andres Adame, spokesman for the Border Patrol in Tucson told Efe.

Despite the decline in the number of undocumented immigrants crossing the border and the number of arrests in Arizona, people are still dying in the desert, since, Adame said, besides supporting the high summer temperatures they also have to weather the storms, which can strike at any time and very quickly move on.

Mead Treadwell’s Ties to Stimulus Recipient Run Deep

A Republican Senate candidate running on a platform of fiscal responsibility has maintained ties to a Maryland company that benefitted from millions in grants from a major 2009 spending bill derided by Republicans—including the candidate himself—as profligate.

Former Alaska lieutenant governor Mead Treadwell stressed that he was a non-executive board member who played no part in Ellicott Dredges’ decision to apply for the grants when the Washington Examiner reported on those grants last month.

A spokesman for Treadwell’s campaign for a U.S. Senate seat in Alaska said that Treadwell had left the company’s board in 2009. However, financial disclosure forms filed by his campaign show that he remains on the company’s payroll.

Those disclosures show that Ellicott paid Treadwell at least $6,000 in “board compensation” over the past two years. He has also received between $30,000 and $100,000 in dividend payments on his stake in the company, which is worth between $100,000 and $250,000, over the same period.

Campaign spokesman Tom Intorcio said Treadwell is paid every time he attends a quarterly meeting of the company’s advisory board.

During my morning run, I pondered last night’s address by President Obama regarding the current situation in Iraq. What immediately struck me was that Obama spent more time talking about what he did not want to do than really defining what needed to be done.

Everyone is talking about an F/A-18 aircraft striking an ISIS artillery piece — hardly a strategic objective. This does back up what Obama so narrowly defined last night as his intent – address the threat to Americans in Irbil and Baghdad. I am pleased that we took the action to provide humanitarian relief.

The president was very careful in his words, and they were mostly political – not practical. But Obama was more adamant in declaring what he is not going to do — meaning the enemy has been provided a gap to exploit.

However, why was Barack Hussein Obama in such a rush to provide U.S. military resources in Libya supporting Islamist forces? We were told it was a humanitarian crisis, but it seems now hardly so. And please, don’t tell me it was just NATO — America is NATO. And now Americans know Libya as the place where an ambassador and three other Americans were killed in a terrorist attack, our embassy has been evacuated, and as we reported here, the same Islamists we supported have established a caliphate in eastern Libya.

Last night, President Obama had the chance to define a clear and present evil in our time. ISIS represents the Nazis of this century. There is no clearer portrayal of 7th century barbarism than this movement which we have allowed to gain strength, momentum and victory. Its blitz across Syria and Iraq can easily be compared to that of the 20th century blitzkrieg of Hitler. And the savagery being inflicted is beyond belief — consider the marking of Christian homes — history does repeat itself.

Obama Remains Consistent in His Indifference to Slaughter

In the summer of 2007, then-Sen. Barack Obama was asked if he was worried that his proposed withdrawal from Iraq would result in ethnic cleansing or even genocide.

He scoffed at the premise.

“By that argument you would have 300,000 troops in the Congo right now — where millions have been slaughtered as a consequence of ethnic strife — which we haven’t done,” he told the Associated Press. “We would be deploying unilaterally and occupying the Sudan, which we haven’t done. Those of us who care about Darfur don’t think it would be a good idea.”

Obama glossed over a crucial distinction. The slaughter in Congo wasn’t caused by our actions. The assumption behind the AP’s question — backed by countless experts — was that a withdrawal from Iraq at the time would almost certainly lead to slaughter. Obama’s remarkable answer was that even if you accepted the premise that leaving would ignite mass slaughter, it would still be right to bug out of Iraq.

Of course, as is his wont, Obama covered all of the rhetorical bases. He acknowledged that leaving prematurely would be bad.

At first she thought it might have been her husband, but when she realized it wasn’t him but a stranger attempting a break-in, Logan’s gut reaction was to go for her firearm then call authorities.

But when Logan dailed 911, the police dispatcher urged Logan to do the “unthinkable” and told her to, “put the gun down.”
