‘We Will Never Forget About You,’ Trump Assures Storm-Weary Western North Carolina

Former President Donald J. Trump told a suffering Western North Carolina, “We will never forget about you,” as he pledged that the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene would be met by efforts to make the region “greater and more beautiful than it was before.”

Standing with a huge pile of storm debris in the distance behind him, Trump sought to buoy the spirits of suffering residents, community leaders, and first responders — whose task has turned from search and rescue to recovery of the dead.

“We’re praying for you, and we will not forget about you,” Trump said at a press conference in Swannanoa, North Carolina. “We will never forget about you. We’re going to be working with you for a long time to come to get it back together.”

In his first of three scheduled North Carolina stops on Oct. 21, Trump said he was amazed by the storm devastation as his motorcade made its way from the Asheville Regional Airport in Fletcher, North Carolina.

“That’s quite a scene driving up. You see that kind of destruction, actually incredible to see,” Trump said. “That is incredible. It’s the power of nature. Nothing you can do about it, but you’ve got to get a little bit better crew in to do a better job than has been done by the White House.” (Read more from “‘We Will Never Forget About You,’ Trump Assures Storm-Weary Western North Carolina” HERE)

CBS News, Release the Full Kamala Harris Interview Transcript Now

CBS News was once one of the defining news outlets in the world. Whether it was Edward R. Murrow reporting live from London during the Blitz in World War II or Walter Cronkite’s coverage of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, generations of Americans turned to CBS for fair, accurate reporting on the most important issues of the day.

No longer.

CBS News now stands accused of deliberately distorting its news coverage for nakedly political purposes, to prop up Kamala Harris’ flailing presidential campaign by attempting to hide her inability to answer even simple questions about her policy positions and how she would act if elected president.

How badly skewed was CBS’s coverage of its interview with Harris, broadcast to the world on “Face the Nation” and “60 Minutes?” Well, last week, the nonprofit group Center for American Rights (CAR) filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission alleging deliberate news distortion, a violation of FCC regulations and a half-century of precedent.

In this complaint, CAR lawyer Daniel Suhr contends that the evidence of illegal news distortion by CBS could not be clearer: In two different news programs, CBS broadcast the same question, followed by two very different answers from Harris, resulting in a situation where “the general public no longer has any confidence as to what the Vice President actually said in response to the query.” This goes well beyond mere editorial oversight of an interview — picking what to include and what not to include — and instead constitutes a violation of the public trust that the news material CBS presented was in any way factual. Missing Student Was Likely Crushed, Then Incinerated After Passing out in Garbage While Partying in Tourist Spot: Cops

A 24-year-old student partying in picturesque Majorca, Spain, was likely crushed to death in a garbage truck and then incinerated after falling into a trash bin, police said.

Agostina Rubini Medina had been missing for more than two weeks after she vanished during a night out with her friends in Palma, the capital city of the famous vacation hotspot island.

Now the National Police of Spain have a theory: The sloshed student probably passed out while digging around in a trash bin — possibly for her phone — and was scooped into a garbage truck, crushed in the truck’s garbage smasher and finally dumped into an incinerator.

Shortly afterward, a witness who had been at the bus stop told cops they saw Medina’s handbag and blouse neatly arranged by a large trash bin.

Tracking data showed Medina’s phone fixed to that spot for around a half hour before moving to the incineration plant, where it went dead. That timeline matches travel records from the garbage truck. Mother Served by Trump at McDonald’s Drive-Thru Shares Details About Her Exchange With Former President

A Pennsylvania mother who was served by former President Donald Trump during his stint at a McDonald’s drive-thru after his rally on Sunday shared the request she asked the former president.

Trump stopped by the Feasterville-Trevose fast food staple to serve up helpings of french fries to unsuspecting drive-thru customers. Nayara Andrejczyk, a mother whose encounter with the former president went viral online, seized the opportunity to ask Trump for just one favor.

“Mr. President, please don’t let the U.S. become Brazil, my native Brazil, please,” Andrejczyk said as Trump served her.

“We’re gonna make it better than ever, ok?” Trump replied as he shook her hand while continuing to greet the rest of the crowd around the drive-thru window. . .

“My parents were victims of Brazilian corruption, government corruption. My mom lost a pretty successful business…almost 30 years ago, and that’s the reason why we moved to the United States,” she said on the talk show. Pentagon’s Trillion Dollar Fighter Jet Program Hasn’t Had Mission-Ready Plane in Six Years, Watchdog Says

The Pentagon’s premier F-35 fighter jet program has fallen below mission-ready standards for six years, a government watchdog said on Monday.

The F-35 often costs close to $100 million per unit, and the Pentagon expects to spend roughly $2 trillion on the program over the coming decades. But even as one of the Pentagon’s most expensive weapons, all variations of the fighter jet have missed their mission-capable rate goal since fiscal year 2018, according to a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report released Monday.

Mission capable rate goals are defined as “the percentage of total time when the aircraft can fly and perform at least one mission,” and are used to gauge the readiness of various military assets, according to the GAO report. There’s a variety of factors contributing to the F-35’s lackluster performance, many of which have been publicly reported, but the Pentagon still hasn’t taken some of the proper steps needed to address the problems.

“In September 2023, we reported that several maintenance challenges negatively affected F-35 readiness and the ability of the aircraft to achieve mission-capable goals,” the report reads.

Part of the problem stems from a lack of needed parts, lengthy maintenance backlogs and “challenges with depot and organizational maintenance,” according to the report. The Pentagon also heavily relies on defense contractors for the F-35 program — even though it doesn’t want to — but hasn’t taken any steps to try and take back control of the program. Leftists Decried Comey for Flagging Hillary’s Emails. Now They Love Tanya Chutkan’s Election Interference

With less than three weeks until Election Day, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan unsealed “evidence” Special Counsel Jack Smith submitted to justify his lawfare attempts against former President Donald Trump. It’s certainly not the October Surprise the left was hoping for; the heavily redacted evidence fails to bolster Smith’s dubious claim that Trump should be denied his First Amendment right to question the outcome and administration of an election.

Whether the unsealed “evidence” corroborated Smith’s lawfare matters not. What matters is whether Smith, Chutkan, and the propaganda press can leverage it to undermine Trump’s chances by influencing public perception ahead of Nov. 5 — something that leftists once considered taboo when they thought their candidate was in the crosshairs.

Chutkan ordered the unsealing Thursday night, acknowledging the potential impact that doing so would have on the upcoming election.

“If the court withheld information that the public otherwise had a right to access solely because of the potential political consequences of releasing it, that withholding could itself constitute — or appear to be — election interference,” Chutkan wrote. “The court will therefore continue to keep political considerations out of its decision-making, rather than incorporating them as Defendant requests.”

The unsealing comes just weeks after Chutkan unsealed Smith’s 165-page brief, which alleges Trump used “false claims of election fraud to disrupt the electoral process” in 2020. Smith argues that Trump’s “refuse[al] to say whether he would accept the election results” of 2020 (which saw unelected leaders usurp the authority of state legislatures and unilaterally change election procedure) and Trump’s expressing concern about potential fraud are grounds for prosecution and jail time. Want To Improve the Birth Rate? Stop Being So Harsh on Mothers.

In their quest to make motherhood great again, conservatives have set a very high bar for those wanting to make a go of it. Enter the all-or-nothing mother.

She must breastfeed baby, and if she’s unable to produce milk for whatever reason, she’s just not trying hard enough. She can’t leave baby in a crib, or sleep-train baby, or leave baby alone with his father or extended family, because Mama must be with baby at all times, lest she give baby a lifetime of attachment-related trauma.

Rather than purity-spiraling and leading the birth rate into further decline, conservatives could simply tell women the truth: that they can relax, because there are a thousand different ways to be a good mother. U.S. Vulnerability to Nuclear First Strike Getting Attention

Congressman Don Bacon, a retired Brigadier General of the US Air Force, believes that the United States has become highly vulnerable to a nuclear first strike by Russia or China. He ought to know. A member of the House Armed Services Committee, the Congressman previously served as the commanding general in LOOKING GLASS – America’s airborne command post – who would, in a nuclear war, take over the US Strategic Command if STRATCOM’s underground command post was knocked out. From 1961 to 1990, the LOOKING GLASS aircraft, airborne twenty-four-seven and relatively invulnerable to attack, provided the best possible guarantee that American nuclear forces would be able to retaliate after a first strike. With the end of the Cold War, it was decided that the airborne alert was no longer necessary. Instead, a smaller fleet of aircraft was maintained on a 15 minute ground alert, to be launched on warning of an attack. That is still the case today.

According to Congressman Bacon, it is now increasingly possible for Russia or China to destroy the aircraft on the ground at the same time as the underground command posts, and thereby effectively decapitate the United States. There are many reasons, he says, why the 15 minute ground alert – which might have been barely adequate in 1990 – can no longer ensure America’s ability to retaliate today. This is, he claims, the gravest deficiency in the national defense; and once the facts of the matter are considered, it is very difficult to disagree with him.

When the airborne alert was shelved in 1990, the situation was as follows. Soviet ballistic missile submarines patrolling off the US coast could hit the aircraft on the ground in as little as eight minutes, in which case the aircraft would not have time to escape. However, the submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs) of the time were relatively poorly suited for attacking hardened targets, such as the Strategic Air Command (now STRATCOM) underground headquarters in Omaha, or the North American Air Defense Command (NORAD) at Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado. Destroying these harder targets with a high degree of confidence required the launch of land based intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) from Russian territory, which would take thirty minutes to arrive and would be detected by US satellites soon after launch. The system made some degree of sense because the ground alert aircraft and the underground command posts complimented one another. If the Russians launched ICBMs to take out the underground command posts, the aircraft would have enough warning to escape; whereas if the Russians launched SLBMs to take out the aircraft, there would be at least fifteen minutes between the impact of the first warheads and the destruction of the underground command posts, during which the order to retaliate could be given. In neither case would the US be required to rely completely on its early warning systems, which might risk missing the attack if they were disrupted or start an accidental war if they gave a false alarm.

Naturally, though, technological progress did not stop in 1990. Today, a modern hypersonic boost – glide missile fired from Russian territory could hit the United States in fifteen minutes – inside the margin for the ground alert aircraft. Moreover, even this inadequate window of warning could be closed by modern anti – satellite capabilities, which could take out America’s launch detection satellites before the launch of enemy missiles. Elon Musk Hands Man $1 Million Check at Town Hall, Says It Will Happen Every Day Until Election

Billionaire Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk announced during a town hall in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, that he will be giving away $1 million each day to a randomly-selected person in the state who has signed the America PAC petition.

“So, I have a surprise for you, which is that we’re going to be awarding a million dollars randomly to people who have signed the petition every day from now until the election,” Musk said at the town hall.

The billionaire then spoke about the difficulties of getting the word out about the petition because “legacy media won’t report on it.”

“This news, I think, is gonna really fly,” Musk added.

Musk had announced that his America PAC would give $47 to anyone who refers a registered swing state voter to sign a petition supporting the First and Second Amendments. America PAC already raised the referral payment in Pennsylvania from $47 to $100 and Musk has made multiple appearances on the campaign trail for former President Donald Trump. Dem Senator Claims Major Swing State Faces ‘Voter Suppression,’ Despite Being Confronted on ‘High Turnout’

Democratic Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock stood by his claim on Sunday that the state suffers from “voter suppression,” despite CBS host Margaret Brennan pointing out the “high turnout” of voters.

Georgia began its first week of voting on Tuesday and already set a record as 196,000 residents cast their ballots statewide by Thursday, according to WALB. On “Face the Nation,” Brennan referenced the failed 2021 Department of Justice (DOJ) case against Georgia, which claimed the state was suppressing Black voters, and asked if Harris’ recent comments about the voting laws could backfire and discourage turnout.

Warnock pushed back, stating that “voter suppression” discourages people from voting and urged voters to “show up.” However, Brennan quickly challenged his stance, highlighting Republican Gov. Brian Kemp’s defense of the state’s laws.

“But your governor, Brian Kemp, said the truth is that it’s easy to vote and hard to cheat in Georgia. He has criticized the vice president and Democratic officials, saying, ‘They lied about Georgia’s election laws to raise campaign cash and scare people.’ Doesn’t this high turnout assuage some of what you call attempts at voter suppression?”

“Listen, I’ve been through a few elections in Georgia, and what we saw was lines wrapped around buildings. We saw the effort of state officials to make it impossible for people to vote the first weekend of our runoff, and Georgians stood up. Listen, the fact that voters turn out doesn’t mean there’s no voter suppression,” Warnock said.
