Ricki Lake to Produce Documentary Exposing the Dangers of Contraception

Photo Credit: LifeSiteNewsA forthcoming documentary presenting the health threats of hormonal contraception will be produced by none other than former 1990s trash talk show host Ricki Lake.

Lake will act as executive producer alongside director Abby Epstein in a full-length film based on Holly Grigg-Spall’s book Sweetening The Pill: or How We Became Hooked On Hormonal Birth Control.

“In the 50 years since its release, the birth control Pill has become synonymous with women’s liberation and has been thought of as some sort of miracle drug. But now it’s making women sick,” the two said in a statement. “Our goal with this film is to wake women up to the unexposed side effects of these powerful medications and the unforeseen consequences of repressing women’s natural cycles.”

In addition to the oral contraceptive pill, the film is said to deal with Yaz/Yasmin, the NuvaRing, and other forms of artificial contraception.

The duo, who worked together on three previous documentaries and a book on natural childbirth and nursing, plan for the film to be released in 2015.

Australian TV Personality Commits Suicide after Depression Triggered by Abortion

Photo Credit: Jill Stanek This is such a tragedy. And abortion proponents share the blame. They, of course, push for easy access to abortion, deemphasizing its after-affects to the point they absolutely refuse to acknowledge post-abortion depression, which further incapacitates those actually living through it.

Charlotte Dawson, RIP, was born in New Zealand but achieved fame in Australia as a model and a judge on Australia’s Next Top Model.

From The Telegraph, today:

In the end it seemed like the final, inevitable episode of a tragic soap opera: Charlotte Dawson —the model, TV star and social crusader who spent many of her adult years battling depression —ended her life at the age of 47.

It is understood Dawson was found hanged in her luxury Woolloomooloo Finger Wharf apartment by a security guard on Saturday morning, the day after the birthday of her ex-husband and the man she still described as the love of her life – disgraced Olympic swimmer Scott Miller….

Feds Spend $356,337 on ‘Simulation Facility’ to Study How People Cross the Road

Photo Credit: AP/Marcio Jose SanchezThe National Science Foundation has awarded a $356,337 grant to the University of Iowa to use virtual technology to study social influences on risky cycling and pedestrian behavior.

“This project will create a simulation facility that will advance a capability to study the social interactions of two children, or a child and parent, as the two people walk or bicycle across a traffic-filled roadway,” the grant announcement said.

It will “expand existing infrastructure” at the university “to build a new simulator that matches a recently installed simulator at the same institution, which will permit each of two experimental participants to inhabit their own separate simulated environment.”

Both stimulators will be connected by a “high-speed network and programmed to share a single, virtual environment that can be configured for either bicycling or walking.”

“Experimental participants will control their motion by actually walking or cycling across these virtual intersections, surrounded by graphically rendered images that show a real-time, first-person view of their motion through the environment,” the grant said.

Capture of Mexican Drug Lord ‘El Chapo’ Guzman Ignites Fight Over Trial Location

Photo Credit: Fox News After narrow escapes from the military, law enforcement and rivals over 13 years on the run, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman is back in Mexican custody. Now, what is likely to be a lengthy and complicated legal process to decide which country gets to try him first will begin.

In Mexico, Guzman is likely to face a host of charges related to his role as the head of the Sinaloa Cartel, the country’s most powerful drug organization and a key player in the yearslong violence that has claimed tens of thousands of lives since 2006.

Grand juries in at least seven U.S. federal district courts have handed up indictments for Guzman on a variety of charges, ranging from smuggling cocaine and heroin into the United States to participating in an ongoing criminal enterprise involving murder and racketeering.

Mexico convicted the man whose nickname translates to “Shorty” on drug trafficking and murder charges in 1993. Guzman had served less than half of his 20-year prison sentence when he escaped from jail in 2001. The Mexican government is almost certain to levy a host of new charges related not only to his escape but also to his role in running the global drug-empire that the Sinaloa Cartel has become.

Calls for his extradition to the United States started just hours after word spread of his arrest Saturday morning at a condominium in Mazatlan, a beach resort town on Mexico’s Pacific Coast.

Vilsack: Inner City ‘Minority’ Child ‘Doesn’t Even Know What a Tomato Is’ (+video)

Photo Credit: CNSNews.com/Penny StarrAt the USDA’s annual Agricultural Outlook Forum on Thursday during a panel discussion about attracting young people to the farming industry, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack asked a panelist how she would convince an inner city “minority” child who “doesn’t even know what a tomato is.”

“Emily, I want you to envision an inner city child,” Vilsack said to Emily Oakley, interim director of the National Young Farmer Coalition. “Could be African American, could be Hispanic, could be Native American, Asian, whatever, a minority. You’re talking to that child.

“That child doesn’t even know what a tomato is much less what you are talking about,” Vilsack said. “I want you to convince that kid that he ought to think about farming.”

Oakley replied, “The real issue is how do you get a kid to know what a tomato is” after explaining how best to get kids to know their fruits and vegetables.

Dinesh D’Souza Speculates on ‘Retribution’: ‘Vindictive’ Obama Sees Critics as Enemies

By Evan McMurry.

Author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza speculated to Megyn Kelly Friday night that FBI’s indictment of him for campaign finance fraud may be Alinsky-style political retribution for his anti-Obama film 2016. Earlier this week, four Senators sent a letter to FBI Director James Comey demanding an explanation for what they termed the “selective prosecution” of D’Souza.

“I am a public critic of the president and I do recognize this has made me vulnerable to a form of counterattack,” D’Souza said. He added that Obama, whom he characterized as “vindictive,” had released a video response to 2016 on his website, proving the film had gotten under the president’s skin.

Universities in FCC Newsroom Probe Have Close Ties to Soros, Got $1.8M in Funding

The FCC may have suspended its invasion into American newsrooms, but the controversial “Critical Information Needs” study also has George Soros’ fingerprints all over it.

While disturbing, this should come as no surprise since Soros’ gave more than $52 million to media organizations from 2000-2010.

Two schools were working with FCC on the project, according to Byron York of The Washington Examiner. The University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Center for Communication and Democracy, were tasked by the FCC with coming up with criteria for what information is “critical” for Americans to have. The FCC study would have covered newspapers, websites, radio and television, according to The Washington Post.

On top of the 1st Amendment problems with this proposal, the schools involved have strong ties to liberal billionaire George Soros’ Open Society Foundations and have gotten more than $1.8 million from since 2000.

The journalism programs at these schools have even more ties to Soros besides their funding, including faculty members writing for university-based publications allied with Soros-funded outlets.

Miller: An Important Anniversary for the Tea Party (+video)

CNBC It was five years ago this week that CNBC Newsman Rick Santelli made his fiery speech from the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade that helped launch a movement: “This is America!…President Obama, Are you listening?!…It’s time for another tea party.”

The answer five years later to Santelli’s question is a resounding, “No.” The President is not listening. It is clearly time to add some more tea bags to the pot and stoke up the fires.

Just this week an FCC Commissioner sent up a warning flare that the Obama Administration was once again planning to go after our constitutional rights.

Why in the world would our government think it is permissible to put “monitors” in newsrooms to determine how editorial decisions are being made? This is not the former Soviet Union, and Fox News is not TASS. The government should not have word one to say about what is the “news.”

Thankfully enough Americans in-and-out of the press, from all political persuasions, rose up and pressured the Administration that, at least for now, plans to introduce “monitors” into newsrooms have been put on hold.

All of us who love liberty are sick and tired of the Obama Administration’s complete disregard for our Constitution—NSA, IRS, ObamaCare, AP, Benghazi; all the while, Senator Mark Begich does nothing to prevent him from committing greater-and-greater abuses against our liberties.

You can be certain as the next senator from Alaska, there will be no one more zealous in defense of the Constitution. I swore to uphold and defend it several years ago as a newly commissioned officer when I took the oath at West Point.

I have never recanted that oath and carried it into my service on the judicial bench both at the state and federal levels. I cherish our freedoms as an inheritance from our Founding Fathers and an endowment from our Creator.

Together we can advance the work begun five years ago and start to write the next great chapter in the history of the American experiment: The restoration of the nation’s economic and political freedom!
