Dead for 45 Minutes, Man Shares His Story with Megyn Kelly About What He Saw (+video)

Fox NewsFor 45 minutes, doctors and nurses were unable to revive Brian Miller after the 41-year-old truck driver suffered a heart attack. But Miller, who says he was in Heaven during that time, claims he’s alive today because God sent him back. (Photo via WJW Channel 8 News)

More specifically, according to a Fox News interview, God sent Miller’s deceased father-in-law and mother-in-law to deliver a message to him that it wasn’t his time and ushered him back into life.

As Miller suffered the initial heart attack, his ICU nurse, Emily Bishop, said, “His heart is just quivering in there. It’s not able to pump. It’s not doing anything.”

Speaking later of his miraculous revival, Bishop added, “He had no heart rate. He had no blood pressure. He had no pulse, his brain had no oxygen for 45 minutes. So, the fact that he is up walking, talking, laughing and everything—I mean, that’s amazing.”

North Dakota No. 1 in Well-Being, West Virginia Still Last

North Dakota residents had the highest well-being in the nation in 2013, according to the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index. South Dakota trailed its northern neighbor in second place, with its highest score in six years of measurement. Hawaii held the top spot for the previous four years, but fell slightly last year. West Virginia and Kentucky had the two lowest well-being scores, for the fifth year in a row.

North Dakota rejoined the top 10 well-being states in 2013 after being among that group from 2009 to 2011. South Dakota was among the top 10 in well-being for the first time since 2010, while Washington last appeared in 2008.

hese state-level data are based on more than 178,000 interviews with American adults across all 50 states, conducted from January-December 2013. Gallup and Healthways started tracking state-level well-being in 2008. The Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index score for the nation and for each state is an average of six sub-indexes, which individually examine life evaluation, emotional health, work environment, physical health, healthy behaviors, and access to basic necessities.

The Well-Being Index is calculated on a scale of 0 to 100, where a score of 100 represents ideal well-being. Well-Being Index scores among states varied within a nine-point range in 2013. The Well-Being Index score for the nation in 2013 dipped to 66.2 from 66.7 in 2012, and matches the previous low, measured in 2011.

Alaska: No Evidence Barbour Killed Here

Photo Credit: WNEPAlaskan authorities say there’s no evidence to back up a 19-year-old Pennsylvania woman’s claim that one of the countless killings she carried out was in their state.

Miranda Barbour told a newspaper reporter over the weekend that she killed so many people across so many states in the last six years that she lost count. She told the Daily Item newspaper in Sunbury, Pa., that the killings spanned from Alaska to North Carolina.

However, Alaska State Troopers said Tuesday Barbour’s claims don’t bear out — at least in their state.

“At this time the Alaska State Troopers are not aware of any information — beyond Barbour’s comments quoted in the press — or evidence that would implicate Barbour with a homicide committed in Alaska,” a statement from the agency said.

The agency said it has been in contact with Pennsylvania authorities.

Abortion and The Heart Cases: I Am Not The Rapist’s Child (+video)

Photo Credit: LifeNewsWow! I hate that phrase. “Rapist’s child”, “rapist’s baby”, “rape baby”, or “product of rape”—all equally despicable, yet intentional, pejoratives used by abortion activists to debase those conceived in such horrid violence. As if these revilers had any control over the circumstances of their own conception, they stand as judge and executioner of human beings with the exact same cellular makeup.

Do we refer to children as the “drug dealer’s child” or the “adulterer’s child?” President Obama’s alcoholic father was married multiple times. In fact, his NOT-THE-RAPISTS-CHILD-FBfather was married to two different women concurrently. Do we call Obama the “bigamist’s child” or the “alcoholic’s child”? That would be horrible. Granted, people hold various views of our Commander-in-Chief, but who would call him the Abandoned-in-Chief because of his deadbeat dad (no matter the wishful dreams he had of his father)?

When do we ever define an innocent child by the crimes of either parent? This is only necessary to those whose ideology demands the dehumanization of that life to justify killing via abortion. It assuages those who demand that certain human life have zero civil rights.

This year is the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, celebrated as one of America’s most pivotal moments. Most don’t realize that it is nearly a mirror copy of the Republican-only passed Civil Rights Act of 1875, championed by famed abolitionist (and my hero) Frederick Douglass. The act was later ruled, in 1883, unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. (They have often been Supremely wrong!) February is Douglass’ birth-month as well as President Abraham Lincoln’s. Both men changed the trajectory of our nation’s civil rights. Lincoln’s conscience was reshaped by Douglass, a man whose name is synonymous with abolition (despite Steven Spielberg’s grotesque omission of him in his award-winning eponymous film). Lincoln’s heart was moved by the eloquence and conviction of a man who wasn’t even considered human. The leader of the Party created to abolish slavery was compelled to rethink his views of humanity and equality by a former slave who abortion activists, today, would call a “rapist’s child.”

4 Teens Accused Of Carving Swastika Into Classmate’s Forehead

Photo Credit: Joe Raedle/Getty ImagesFour teenagers are accused of carving a swastika into the forehead of a 16-year-old boy.

The Oregonian reports that Jenna Montgomery, 15, Jess Taylor, 17, Blue Kalmbach, 15, and a 14-year-old boy attacked the boy in a shed, shooting him with a BB gun and hitting him with a crow bar, on top of carving a swastika into his forehead.

The victim, 16-year-old Dustin Murrain, said he was lured by his David Douglas High School classmate Jenna Montgomery into the shed where the alleged assault took place.

According to The Oregonian, Murrain was hit in the back of the head with a crowbar and was shot with a BB gun in the chest, groin and index finger.

A Multnomah County prosecutor’s affidavit states that Kalmbach then used a box cutter to carve the swastika into Murrain.

Afghanistan Newspaper Warns: Missionaries are Promoting Christianity in Country

Photo Credit: APBy Michael W. Chapman.

Although U.S. troops have been in Afghanistan for 13-plus years fighting terrorists and aiding the government to a more stable rule, the Afghanistan newspaper Cheragh complained in a recent editorial that “Western democracy” has produced “negative effects” there and specifically cited missionaries who “fearlessly promote Christianity.”

As BBC Worldwide Monitoring reported, the independent newspaper Cheragh published an editorial on Jan. 27 entitled, “Promoting Islamophobia in the Islamic state of Afghanistan.”

“Western democracy, given to us as a gift by foreigners in our country, has had negative effects on our country, 99 per cent of whose population are Muslim,” reads the editorial. “One of the effects of this type of democracy is the presence and activities of Christian missionaries who have entered Afghanistan under the banner of humanitarian aid and social work.”

“Supported by foreign forces, these missionaries fearlessly promote Christianity,” says Cheragh. “They are particularly active in Kabul, Bamian, Paktia, Nurestan, Konduz, Ghazni, Badakhshan and Mazar-e Sharif. No churches have publicly been built in these provinces yet but they perform their religious rites inside rented houses which are protected by the Afghan police.”

Photo Credit: AP‘Windfalls of war’: Companies with spotty records making billions off Afghanistan

By Kelley Beaucar Vlahos.

The United States government has paid a company based in Switzerland more than $5 billion to feed the troops in Afghanistan, and thanks to a succession of no-bid contract extensions, the company, Supreme Foodservice, overcharged American taxpayers as much as $757 million, officials say.

The U.S. has appropriated more than $100 billion for Afghan reconstruction, which includes not only building and development, but training and arming the Afghan security forces — and the dispute over the massive payments to this single company is just one example of how, more than 12 years into the war, America is struggling to account for how its money has been spent.

So who’s getting rich off the war?

A review conducted by FoxNews.com shows several companies with questionable track records have been able to snag a sizable piece of the pie.

While Supreme Foodservice, a foreign firm, has profited immensely, several American companies have also made out like kings despite delays, accusations of shoddy construction and prolonged contract disputes over the last dozen years.

U-Md. Database Containing Thousands of Student, Staff Records Hacked

University of Maryland officials have released a statement a day after the university’s president announced a database containing sensitive information about faculty, staff, students and affiliated personnel had been hacked.

Records including the names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and University identification numbers of more than 300,000 people from the College Park and Shady Grove campuses who have been issued a University ID since 1998 have been compromised.

University System of Maryland Chancellor William “Brit” Kirwan released a statement in the wake of the breach.

“Our campus information security officers meet regularly, and I am confident we will all learn from this development and make our security defense mechanisms even stronger. The objective of managing information security at each USM campus has been a priority objective for each president, and this incident only means that we must continue to increase our vigilance in attending to Internet theft and personal information security.”

Police: Homeless Seeking Shelter from Cold in Subways to Be Kicked Out

The NYPD and the MTA plan to clear homeless men and women out of the subway system after a skyrocketing number of people have sought shelter there from the brutally cold winter, police officials said.

The plan, which is set to begin before dawn on Monday, comes amid an upswing in homeless people in the subway system during the exceptionally cold winter. There were more than 1,800 people living on the subways in 2013, up from 1,000 in 2009, according to the city’s annual HopeNYC street survey.

Starting Monday at 3 a.m., teams of transit workers, NYPD officers and emergency medical technicians will go to the E train stations at Jamaica Center and at the World Trade Center, officials said.

Each time a train pulls into one of the two stations, teams will check each car, and take all the homeless people inside to either a shelter or hospitals, officials said.

The trains will then be cleaned for the morning rush hour.
