5 Electrocuted in Pool, Including Teen Credited for Saving the Others

Five people were electrocuted in a freak accident at a backyard pool in Indiana Sunday afternoon, including two young girls and a teenage boy who is being hailed as a hero for saving the others, police said.

A married couple, their two kids — a 16-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter — and the girl’s friend were all zapped while taking a dip in the family’s pool as they tried to stay cool on a hot summer day, Logansport police said.

The scary episode began at around 2:30 p.m. when the group felt a “vibration” in the pool, causing the dad to call for someone to shut off the sump pump, Logansport Police Chief Travis Yike told Fox 59.

All five were shocked by the electrified water — to varying degrees — before the sump pump was flipped off. . .

Everyone was rushed to the hospital with various injuries but all are expected to survive in part thanks to the teen son who works as a local lifeguard and reportedly pulled out his injured family members and his sister’s friend from the pool. Trump Rally Counter-Sniper Backs Bombshell ‘Evidence Tampering’ Claims by House GOPers

A SWAT counter-sniper who was working the Pennsylvania rally where former President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated last month agreed with Republican lawmakers Monday that an “odd” pattern of evidence-handling had taken place following the deadly shooting.

Washington Regional SWAT counter-sniper Ben Shaffer said it was “absolutely” concerning that the roof of the AGR International building had been quickly scrubbed and gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks’ body disposed of before an official autopsy report could be released.

Five House Republicans — Reps. Andy Biggs and Eli Crane of Arizona, Matt Gaetz and Cory Mills of Florida, and Chip Roy of Texas — hosted the panel discussion with Shaffer and other witnesses at the conservative Heritage Foundation.

“Do you find it odd that literally only days after the attempted assassination on President Donald J. Trump, while the roof was too sloped to place individuals for counter-sniper operations, that it wasn’t too sloped of a roof for the FBI to go ahead and tamper, in my opinion, with evidence by washing the roof off that may have had significant evidence on it?” Mills asked Shaffer, referring to the chain of events following the July 13 shooting at the Butler, Pa. campaign event which left one audience member dead and three others, including Trump, injured.

“Yes, I do,” Shaffer answered. (Read more from “Trump Rally Counter-Sniper Backs Bombshell ‘Evidence Tampering’ Claims by House GOPers” HERE)

Pollster Admits the Obvious: Dems Don’t Want Kamala Harris Taking Tough Questions

Democrats are now saying the quiet part out loud: They want Kamala Harris to keep hiding from the press.

In a Sunday interview with NBC, Democratic pollster Cornell Belcher shut down PBS’s Amna Nawaz’s pleas for Harris to talk to journalists.

“Interviews are where candidates face rigor and skepticism and questions about issues that they’re not raising on the campaign trail and in monologue,” Nawaz (rightly) explained. “It opens it up to a conversation in a way that’s good for voters and good for democracy.”

But it’s not good for Democrats, Belcher shot back: “As a campaign hack, no. She should be talking to the voters and barnstorming the way they do . . . I don’t want her talking to you all right now.”

Harris isn’t “talking to voters” as much as talking at them — from a teleprompter at rallies that insulate her from any risk of an actual interaction that could prove embarrassing. (Read more from “Pollster Admits the Obvious: Dems Don’t Want Kamala Harris Taking Tough Questions” HERE)

Human Remains Reveal Shocking Truth of What Happened After Western Roman Empire Collapsed

Just when you thought the Roman Empire couldn’t get any more exciting, a study published mid-August detailed how DNA shifted among elites once their civilization collapsed.

The Roman Empire collapsed around the 5th century, A.D., when power was decentralized from Rome and a whole new sociological makeup emerged throughout Europe and North Africa, according to the study published in the journal PNAS. DNA evidence suggests elite Romans were key to rebuilding a new society after theirs collapsed, and a big part of their process was enhancing the genetic diversity of their people throughout Medieval Europe.

“Analyzing 28 new genomes with 24 previous ones revealed that the site was formed around biologically and socially connected high-ranking groups. The community also integrated newcomers and embraced individuals with diverse genetic ancestries,” the authors wrote in the study. At first, families of higher social status had distinct genetic ancestries, but over time, these families diversified significantly into their local communities.

Could it be that these individuals were welcomed, or were they necessary to quell the impacts of inbreeding? The authors argued that elites must have acted from a perspective of “(political) agency rather than belonging to biologically homogeneous groups.” This suggests our ancestors knew that real power comes from politicking and not nepotism. Scientists Stumble Upon 7,000-Year-Old Preserved Landscape

Researchers uncovered a preserved ancient landscape beneath the Adriatic Sea near the submerged city of Soline, dating back 7,000 years, Daily Mail reported.

Archaeologists discovered remnants of Soline, a city built by the ancient Hvar culture on an artificial landmass, submerged off the coast of present-day Croatia. The city, crafted around 12,000 BC and later engulfed by rising sea levels following the last Ice Age, includes a network of rivers and estuaries, according to the Daily Mail. This discovery is part of a well-preserved underwater landscape.

Geo-archaeologist Dr. Simon Fitch led the team and they utilized cutting-edge underwater 3D seismic sensors to map this forgotten world. The initial findings reveal a vibrant, dynamic environment, likely bustling with ancient human activity, now hidden beneath the seafloor.

“That’s amazing, because it suggests it is more likely that people lived there,” Fitch said, the outlet reported. This discovery not only sheds light on the advanced nature of the Hvar culture but also provides insights into the geographical and ecological conditions of the Adriatic region thousands of years ago. This submerged landscape was protected from harsher oceanic elements by the nearby Dalmatian islands, Daily Mail reported. ‘I’m Not Afraid to Say It’: DNC Volunteer Says Convention Drove Her to Ditch Harris (VIDEO)

A podcaster who said she volunteered at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago left the event knowing she would not vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Harris accepted the Democratic nomination to replace President Joe Biden Thursday, a little more than a month after Biden announced he was ending his reelection bid. The co-host of the podcast “Rolling In The Deep State,” who introduced herself as Evan on another video on TikTok, said on a viral TikTok video that attendees at the convention were “the most elite and out-of-touch people in the entire world.”

“When I was there, I didn’t feel any connection to real America or the place that I come from, which is the Midwest, Kansas City, Kansas and Missouri,” the volunteer said. “I didn’t feel any connection to the people that I know right now, who are struggling to buy their groceries or to pay their rent, the people who want to know what both candidates are going to do to materially affect change in their lives. And when I was there listening to the speeches, I felt myself feeling mad because I didn’t hear anything about the economy, definitely not in Kamala’s speech and not very much in the others as well. Instead, I heard generic platitudes, things like joy and respect and integrity. And what does that even mean?”

“Let’s make the military the most lethal in the world? I thought I was part of the anti-war party,” the volunteer continued. “I thought I was part of the party that thought for the underdog, that championed working people. When and how did we just become the party of academia and affluence? That’s what we are right now.” (Read more from “‘I’m Not Afraid to Say It’: DNC Volunteer Says Convention Drove Her to Ditch Harris (VIDEO)” HERE)

Trump Honors Afghanistan Troops as Mainstream Media Ignores Anniversary; Biden, Harris ‘Have Never Once Reached Out’ to Gold Star Families of 13 Fallen Service Members, They Say

By Breitbart. President Donald Trump paid his respects to the 13 U.S. troops who were killed three years ago during President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan — while the morning shows on the major networks ignored the anniversary.

Monday, August 26, 2024, marked three years since the day a suicide bomber affiliated with the local branch of the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS) killed 13 American service members and wounded dozens more at Kabul’s airport — while also murdering roughly 170 local civilians who were trying to flee the country.

Trump visited Arlington National Cemetery, laying a wreath alongside Marine Corporal Kelsee Lainhart, who was partially paralyzed by the blast. (Read more from “Trump Honors Afghanistan Troops as Mainstream Media Ignores Anniversary” HERE)

Biden, Harris ‘Have Never Once Reached Out’ to Gold Star Families of 13 Fallen Service Members, They Say

By AOL. President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris “have never once reached out” to the Gold Star families who lost their loved ones in the deadly bombing at Abbey Gate that killed 13 Americans during the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal three years ago.

Members of the Gold Star families participated in a call with GOP Vice Presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance, the Trump campaign and reporters Monday afternoon — three years after the attack.

The suicide bombing by a member of ISIS-K at the Abbey Gate entrance of Hamid Karzai International Airport took the lives of 13 U.S. service members – 11 Marines, one Navy sailor and one Army soldier. Eighteen other U.S. service members were wounded. The bombing also left more than 150 civilians dead.

Former President Trump held a wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery Monday morning to commemorate and honor the 13 American service members who were killed. . .

“I think this administration has shown they have treated the Afghanistan withdrawal like the plague – they’ve stayed as far away from it as they possibly can,” Gold Star father Mark Schmitz said in response to a question by Fox News Digital. “I’m not surprised in the least bit that neither one of them would show up for this event.” (Read more from “Biden, Harris ‘Have Never Once Reached Out’ to Gold Star Families of 13 Fallen Service Members, They Say” HERE)

RFK Jr. Announces He Will ‘Actively’ Campaign With Donald Trump, Says Other Democrats Will Join the Team (VIDEO)

Former 2024 Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Sunday that he will “actively” campaign with 2024 Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Kennedy suspended his campaign and endorsed Trump Friday afternoon, later joining forces with the former president that evening at a campaign rally in Phoenix, Arizona. Kennedy told “Fox News Sunday” host Shannon Bream that Trump will join forces with other Democrats as the election cycle progresses.

“I’ll be campaigning actively,” Kennedy told Bream. “President Trump is going to make a series of announcements of other Democrats who are joining his campaign. And, you know, I wanna make America healthy again, and so does President Trump.”

Kennedy told Bream he and Trump agree that healthy children should be part of his legacy if the former president wins a second term.

Kennedy took to social media Sunday morning and said that his endorsement of Trump is just the beginning of the GOP nominee’s “Unity” ticket.

Vance Says Trump Would Veto a National Abortion Ban

Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, former President Donald Trump’s running mate, said Saturday that Trump would veto a federal abortion ban if Congress were to pass one.

Asked on NBC News’ “Meet the Press” about GOP lawmakers like Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina who would want Trump to advocate for and sign an abortion ban, Vance told moderator Kristen Welker that Trump has “explicitly” said he would veto a ban.

“I mean, if you’re not supporting it, as the president of the United States, you fundamentally have to veto it,” Vance argued.

Trump has changed his position on abortion policy over the years.

Asked on a tarmac in Atlanta in April whether he would sign a national abortion ban if it passed through Congress, he simply answered, “No.” But he didn’t clarify at the time what he considered a “ban.” (Read more from “Vance Says Trump Would Veto a National Abortion Ban” HERE)

Democrat Lawmakers Dismiss Kamala Harris’s Price-Control Plan

A series of insider revelations have surfaced indicating that multiple Democrat lawmakers are privately dismissing Vice President Kamala Harris’s controversial grocery price-control plan, which has faced substantial backlash from economists and critics alike.

Politico reports that Democrat lawmakers are quietly signaling to concerned allies that Harris’s proposal, unveiled during her first policy-focused speech on August 16, is unlikely to advance through Congress. The plan, which has been described as “Soviet-style” by critics, aims to impose central price controls on food products. According to Politico, lawmakers have expressed doubts about the plan’s feasibility and effectiveness, with one anonymous Democrat describing it as a “lofty goal” and another admitting uncertainty about its operational mechanics.

An insider close to the White House has revealed that Harris’s plan does not effectively address the inflation issues plaguing the country. The insider remarked, “If we had a good tool, we’d definitely have used it,” suggesting that the administration’s attempt to address rising grocery prices is inadequate.

Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) highlights a troubling 22 percent increase in grocery prices from January 2021 — when President Joe Biden and Harris first took office — to July 2024. Despite this, the Biden-Harris administration has downplayed inflation concerns, with White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre inaccurately claiming in June that prices for staple items like eggs and milk, as well as gasoline, have decreased.

According to Politico, several lawmakers and aides interviewed under anonymity have confirmed that Congressional Democrats are privately acknowledging the impracticality of Harris’s plan. A food industry official echoed this sentiment, labeling the proposal as “not a serious policy” and suggesting it is more of a political maneuver designed to deflect blame from the administration’s handling of inflation.

Criticism of the plan has been further amplified by Washington Post columnist Catherine Rampell, who penned a scathing op-ed describing the proposal as a “sweeping set of government-enforced price controls” that would undermine market dynamics. Rampell warned that such a policy would replace supply and demand with bureaucratic control, potentially allowing agencies like the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to dictate prices for basic goods.
