Two U.S. Navy Sailors Arrested on Espionage Charges Involving Alleged Ties to China

Two U.S. Navy sailors were arrested on national security-related charges related to allegedly sending sensitive military information to the Chinese Communist Party, federal officials said on Thursday.

“These individuals stand accused of violating the commitments they made to protect the United States and betraying the public trust, to the benefit of the [People’s Republic of China] government,” Assistant Attorney General Matthew G. Olsen of the Justice Department’s National Security Division, said in a news release.

U.S. Navy Sailor Jinchao Wei, an active-duty machinist’s mate on the amphibious U.S.S. Essex assault ship stationed at Naval Base San Diego, was arrested on Wednesday for espionage-related charges upon arriving for work at the homeport of the Navy’s Pacific Fleet in California.

Wei, 22, was indicted for conspiracy to send national defense information to a Chinese intelligence officer who allegedly communicated with Wei using encrypted messages to provide photos, videos and documents about the U.S.S. Essex and other Navy ships as early as February 2022, according to U.S. officials. Wei allegedly disclosed the locations of various Navy ships, defensive weapons, technical and mechanical manuals to the intelligence officer in exchange for thousands of dollars over the course of the conspiracy. The sailor also allegedly passed along information about the number of U.S. Marines training during previously scheduled international maritime warfare exercises. Xi Jinping Wants to ‘Hollow Out Taiwan From Within,’ Ex-CIA Official Warns

China’s ruling Communist Party is preparing for war over Taiwan, but President Xi Jinping would much rather take control of the U.S.-backed island democracy without a military clash.

His plan, for now, is to tilt the Taiwanese presidential election in January in Beijing’s favor.

That’s the assessment of David Sauer, a former U.S. intelligence officer with deep experience in the region. He said China’s strategy is to “hollow out Taiwan from within” and “create chaos” around the election to seat a president who will push the island toward unification with the communist mainland.

Chinese officials are engaged in a campaign to “manipulate [the election] in their favor,” said Mr. Sauer, a retired CIA officer who served in multiple overseas command positions in East Asia and South Asia. Trump on Romney: ‘Mitt’s a Loser,’ ‘The Right Candidate Will Beat Him’ in Utah Primary

Former President Donald Trump, the leading 2024 GOP presidential candidate, told Breitbart News that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is a “loser.”

Trump made the comments about Romney, who carpet-bagged his way into a U.S. Senate seat from Utah after he lost the 2012 presidential election after his governorship in the northeastern Bay State, Massachusetts, during a nearly hour-long exclusive on-camera interview last week at his golf club here.

“Mitt’s a loser. He’s been a loser for a long time,” Trump said when asked to respond to Romney’s recent op-ed in the Wall Street Journal in which the failed presidential candidate called for the crowded GOP field in 2024 to winnow itself down to try to stop Trump from getting the nomination again.

Trump also bashed Romney for marching with Black Lives Matter protesters in Washington, DC, in 2020, mocking Romney for wearing a mask during it and saying some of the leftists with whom he was marching were really bad folks.

“He has no respect in the Republican Party,” Trump continued about Romney. “He’s a terrible Republican. I think he’s terrible for the nation also. I saw him marching with the Antifa and the groups down in Washington with his mask on—you couldn’t even see his face. They were marching, and these were real terrorists—very bad people he was marching with. Hunter Business Partner: Bidens ‘Intimidated’ People Not to Legally Mess With Them

The Biden brand “intimidated” people to not legally mess with the Biden family, Devon Archer told Rep. Daniel Goldman (D-NY) during his transcribed congressional interview.

Archer, who testified that Hunter Biden included then-Vice President Joe Biden on speakerphone more than 20 times with business associates to sell “the brand,” also told Goldman the Bidens intimidated people into not legally probing the family’s business activities.

Archer told Goldman that Hunter Biden was able to survive on the board of Burisma Holdings because of the Biden brand.

“I don’t understand. How does that have an impact?” Goldman asked.

“The capabilities to navigate D.C. that they were able to basically be in the news cycle. And I think that preserved them from a longevity standpoint. North Korea Responds for First Time About Army Defector Travis King

North Korea has for the first time “responded” to efforts to discuss US Army defector Travis King, more than two weeks after he dashed across the border during a guided tour of the demilitarized zone.

“KPA has responded to the United Nations Command with regards to PV2 King,” the United Nations Command said, using acronyms for the North Korean army and the still-missing soldier’s rank as a private

“In order not to interfere with our efforts to get him home, we will not go into details at this time,” the multinational military force added.

Pentagon spokesperson Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder said the Hermit Kingdom only acknowledged the UN Command’s request for information about King but stopped short of offering details about him.

Mom of Two Dies From Drinking Too Much Water After Feeling Dehydrated on Family Trip

An Indiana mother of two who told her family it felt like she couldn’t drink enough water to feel satiated collapsed and died from water toxicity — a rare consequence of drinking too much water too quickly.

Ashley Summers, 35, was out at Lake Freeman with her husband and two young daughters over the Fourth of July weekend when she began feeling severely dehydrated.

“Someone said she drank four bottles of water in 20 minutes,” her brother Devon Miller told WRTV. “I mean, an average water bottle is like 16 ounces, so that was 64 ounces that she drank in a span of 20 minutes. That’s half a gallon. That’s what you’re supposed to drink in a whole day.” . . .

“My sister, Holly, called me, and she was just an absolute wreck. She was like ‘Ashley is in the hospital. She has brain swelling, they don’t know what’s causing it, they don’t know what they can do to get it to go down, and it’s not looking good,’” said Miller.

RFK Jr. Sues YouTube for Removed Videos Featuring His Vaccine Skepticism

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. filed a lawsuit against YouTube, and its parent company Google, on Wednesday.

Kennedy alleges videos featuring his interviews and speeches were removed by the platform in violation of his First Amendment right and predicted that “it will continue to do so throughout the presidential campaign, especially as the primary elections get closer.” His speech at Saint Anselm College and interviews with Jordan Peterson and Joe Rogan, all from this year, are among the videos affected.

“This complaint concerns the freedom of speech and the extraordinary steps the United States government has taken under the leadership of Joe Biden to silence people it does not want Americans to hear,” the suit reads. “Mr. Kennedy is not the only victim of this censorship campaign, which is unprecedented in American history. Biden Admin Told Facebook That Censoring ‘Bad Content’ Was ‘Our Primary Concern’

Former Biden Director of Digital Strategy Robert Flaherty told Facebook in a June 2021 meeting that suppressing content was the administration’s top priority regarding speech it did not agree with, according to documents reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The White House regularly met with Facebook to discuss content moderation, often having disagreements, according to the memos obtained by the House Judiciary Committee. One point of contention was that President Joe Biden’s administration preferred to censor information while Facebook wanted to combat it with more information.

“You guys are much longer on inform, we’re much longer on reduce,” Flaherty noted at the meeting, according to a transcript of the meeting reviewed by the DCNF.

“What do you mean by that?” asked a Facebook executive, whose name is redacted.

Revealed: Joe Sent Thank You Letter to Hunter Biz Associate

By Breitbart. Then-Vice President Joe Biden wrote an endearing thank you letter in 2011 to Hunter Biden’s best friend in business, Devon Archer, Tucker Carlson revealed during an interview released Wednesday on Twitter.

“It’s from January 20th, 2011, which, I think, puts you in your late thirties,” Carlson described the letter. “This is from the vice president of the United States, Joe Biden, to you, personally.”

Carlson held up the letter during the interview, displaying a personalized handwritten note from Joe Biden at the bottom.

Carlson read the letter to Archer in which Joe Biden thanked him for attending a lunch:

I apologize for not getting a chance to talk to you at the luncheon yesterday. I was having trouble getting away from hosting President Hu (Jintao, who’s running China at that point). I hope I get a chance to see you again soon with Hunter. I hope you enjoyed lunch. Thanks for coming. Sincerely, Joseph R. Biden, Jr. P.S. (handwritten) Happy you guys are together.

Devon Archer: ‘Impactful’ Joe Biden Calling Into Meetings With Hunter’s Foreign Business Associates Was ‘Abuse of Soft Power’

By New York Post. First son Hunter Biden’s former business partner Devon Archer says President Biden calling into business meetings with his son’s foreign associates was both “prize enough” by demonstrating the first son’s pull with his dad and “an abuse of soft power.” . . .

“I don’t know if it was an orchestrated call-in or not. It certainly was powerful, though, because you’re sitting with a foreign businessperson and you hear the vice president’s voice, that’s prize enough,” Archer said. “I mean, that’s pretty impactful stuff for anyone in the world.”

“You understand DC, right?” the former Burisma Holdings board member told Carlson. “So the power to have that access and that conversation, and it’s not in a scheduled conference call and it’s a part of your family — that’s like the pinnacle of power in DC.”

“In the rear view, it’s an abuse of soft power, I’d say,” Archer added.

Archer and Hunter Biden courted prominent businesspeople in countries where Joe Biden held sway while Barack Obama’s No. 2, including China, Russia and Ukraine. DeSantis Plan to Get Rid of Student Loans Compared to Biden Cancellation

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a 2024 Republican presidential candidate, said Tuesday he has a better idea than President Joe Biden’s plan to alleviate student debt.

“We’ve had a generation of kids go to college and end up deep into debt with little to show for it,” DeSantis said in a tweet. “The left’s solution is to force taxpayers to pay off this debt. Here’s a better solution: Make the colleges and universities foot the bill. And let student loans be dischargeable in bankruptcy.”

DeSantis’ solution is part of the plan he calls the Declaration of Economic Independence that includes 10 pillars that seek to strengthen the economy and help those in the middle class.

Earlier this year, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down Biden’s plan to cancel student loan debt for thousands of borrowers. The plan’s goal was to cancel up to $10,000 in debt for students with an income of $125,000 or less and up to $20,000 for recipients of Pell Grants.
