Liberals Praising ‘False’ Elector Indictment Previously Called for Electoral College to Vote Against Trump in 2016

Multiple liberal legal commentators who praised Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel of Michigan for indicting 16 Republicans for attempting to file false electoral votes in the 2020 election had called for members of the Electoral College to vote against Donald Trump in 2016, according to a review of their tweets.

Nessel announced the indictment on Tuesday after the Department of Justice did not prosecute the individuals, including Michigan Republican Party co-Chair Meshawn Maddock, for allegedly signing a false certificate of electoral votes, challenging the state’s valid electoral votes for then-candidate Joe Biden. However, many of the legal commentators who praised Nessel’s decision had called on electoral college members in states that Trump won in 2016 to vote for a candidate other than him.

“Michigan, My Michigan — one truly great State! Finally an Attorney General worthy of her title. Kudos and props to Michigan AG Dana Nessel, a true public servant,” tweeted Laurence Tribe, a University Professor emeritus of Harvard Law School. Tribe, in 2016, had tweeted that “All it will take is just 12% — a bit over 1 in 10 — of the 306 Trump Electors to vote against a walking, talking impeachable offense,” appearing to encourage such a vote.

Norman Eisen, a CNN legal analyst and former U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic in the Obama administration, said that “[w]e forecast that this was coming months ago, & now accountability is here & everywhere,” in a tweet following the announcement. In 2016, Eisen wrote that “electors should not — CANNOT — choose [a] man who will violate oath,” referring to Trump. Biden’s Military Nominee Had Racist Hiring Practices, Watchdog Says

The American Accountability Foundation (AAF) asked the Air Force Monday to conduct a probe into potential illegal race discrimination activities by Gen. Charles Q. Brown, who has been nominated by President Joe Biden as the next chairman of the Join Chiefs of Staff.

Brown, who has been nominated by Biden to serve in the top U.S. military position after Army Gen. Mark Milley finishes his term in October, is accused of making “discriminatory comments and potential unlawful impact on military personnel,” according to the AAF. As a result, the AAF filed a complaint with the Air Force Inspector General and requested an official investigation into Brown’s alleged discrimination.

According to The Daily Caller, multiple sources have reported that Brown made statements during his time as the chief of staff for the Air Force and his previous service as Pacific Air Forces commander that suggested he hired individuals and considered promotions based on race rather than on merit in order to intentionally create diversity in the Air Force.

During a 2020 interview with the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, Brown claimed, “I purposely build my office, my front office, and my team with [diversity], and I hire for diversity because they all bring a different perspective. Catholic Abbot Told to Cover Cross at Western Wall

The abbot of the Dormition Abbey in Jerusalem, Nikodemus Schnabel, was asked by workers at the Western Wall to cover the cross he was wearing around his neck on Wednesday morning, according to a video shared by Der Spiegel reporter Christopher Schult.

The video shared by Schult on Twitter showed a worker at the Western Wall telling the abbot that the cross was “really big and inappropriate for this place. It’s a Jewish place, you need to respect that.”

Schnabel responded that the request was “very harsh,” with the worker insisting that she respected that he is religious and asking people nearby to stop filming the incident.

“This is not a provocation. I’m an abbot. This is my dress,” said Schnabel. “The cross is part of my dress code, I’m a Roman Catholic abbot. You want me to not dress as my faith tells me I should dress.”

Russian Company Presents 16-Qubit Quantum Computer to Vladimir Putin

Today at the Forum for Future Technologies in Russia, President Vladimir Putin was shown through the country’s current state in quantum computing — and it might be more developed than many would initially believe. Rosatom, the Russian State Nuclear Energy Corporation that’s the main governmental body responsible for coordinating national efforts relating to technological innovation, showcased what it says is a 16-qubit trapped-ion-based quantum computer. And according to Rosatom’s own press release on the matter, they’ve already run useful, molecule-simulating computations on it. The Russian processor is said to use the same quantum annealing technology that’s been shown to be impressively useful for military applications.

There’s quite a bit to digest here, assuming we don’t have another “quantum, but not really” situation on our hands – one that mirrors Iran’s recent attempt to shine a light on its quantum computing capabilities that, amusingly, backfired. (Perhaps someone in Iran should have read our “What is Quantum Computing” article.)

Developed by Russia’s Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (LPI) and the Russian Quantum Center, the quantum computer seems to make use of trapped ion qubits with integrated photonics – an approach leveraged by marquee quantum computing companies such as Quantinuum (the child fathered by the merger of Honeywell and Cambridge Quantum) and IonQ to achieve higher qubit count scalability while also reducing the impact of noise. In quantum computing, noise refers to changes in the qubits’ environment (such as vibrations, electromagnetic interference, temperature, and others) that destroy qubits’ processing capabilities by collapsing the qubits’ entanglement and state (and as such, the information they were processing as well).

Rosatom’s push for Russia’s quantum advances started at least from November 7th, 2019, when it launched Russia’s program for the development of quantum computing and algorithmic solutions. Just one year later, Russia announced an investment of around $790 million in the country’s quantum computing capabilities, covering quantum research funding for the next five years. More recently, as early as February 2022, ROSATOM announced the creation of the National Quantum Laboratory (NQL), which aims to consolidate national quantum knowledge within one roof, with teams hailing from a number of state and private entities across Russia (and some contributions from foreign specialists as well). Tim Ballard, Who Inspired ‘Sound of Freedom,’ Out at Both Organizations He Led

Tim Ballard, who the movie “Sound of Freedom” is based on, is reportedly out at both of the organizations that he led.

Motherboard reported Wednesday that Ballard was no longer the CEO of the Nazarene Fund, an anti-trafficking organization backed by Glenn Beck.

“Tim Ballard is no longer the CEO of the Nazarene Fund,” the organization said in a statement. “The Nazarene Fund continues to be focused on our mission to Rescue, Rebuild and Restore. There are so many people around the world who are in need of our unique services and we are grateful for the support we receive to help us accomplish our mission.”

IRS Whistleblower Gives Jaw Dropping Answer on if Joe Biden Benefitted From Son’s Business Deals

IRS special agent Joseph Ziegler, a whistleblower who testified before Congress on Wednesday, said in an interview this week that numerous roadblocks were put in front of him during his investigation into President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter.

CBS News reporter Catherine Herridge asked Ziegler, “Did you uncover evidence that President Biden financially benefited from his son’s deals?”

“I don’t feel comfortable answering that question,” Ziegler responded. “Any time we potentially wanted to go down the road of asking questions related to the president, it was, ‘That’s gonna take too much approvals, we can’t ask those questions.’ And I mean, it created an environment that was very hard to deal with.”

Ziegler said that the response he would get when he tried to press the issue was, “Let’s put that on the back burner.”

Italy’s Conservative Government Begins Removing Some Homosexual Parents From Children’s Birth Certificates

Italy has begun removing the names of gay mothers from their children’s birth certificates, as part of the right-wing government’s crackdown on same-sex parenting.

The move comes after populist prime minister Giorgia Meloni’s coalition announced in March that state agencies should no longer register the children of same-sex couples, a move that sparked protests in Milan.

Families have begun receiving letters from the state prosecutor, with PinkNews reporting that 27 parents in the northern city of Padua have been issued notices that they were being removed from their child’s birth certificate. Other families have received letters in Milan, Florence and Fiumicino, near Rome.

Michael Leidi and her wife Viola were reportedly among one of the three lesbian couples to be targeted by the crackdown, with Ms Leidi telling LGBTQ+ Nation that she “cried for 10 days” after receiving the letter.

It informed them that the inclusion of Ms Leidi’s name was “contrary to public order”, as she was not the biological mother of the couple’s daughter Giulia, the site reported. Democrats Try to Hijack IRS Whistleblower Hearing to Make It About Donald Trump

Democrats on the House Oversight and Government Accountability Committee repeatedly invoked former President Donald Trump and his aides during a hearing addressing alleged Justice Department misconduct in its investigations of Hunter Biden.

House Republicans called the hearing to hear from Internal Revenue Service whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joe Ziegler, who allege that DOJ political appointees stonewalled their investigation into the president’s son. Several Democrats on the committee, however, repeatedly pivoted to Trump’s alleged political interference at the DOJ. They mentioned his pardoning of former advisers Paul Manafort, Roger Stone and Michael Flynn.

“President Biden’s traditional unscrupulous respect for the independence of the Justice Department stands in sharp contrast to Trump’s spectacular disrespect for the rule of law and his serial efforts, both in office and outside office, to get prosecutors to go after and lock up his political rivals and to suspend accountability in specific criminal cases when it comes to his friends,” ranking member Jamie Raskin of Maryland said.

“When Michael Flynn was investigated for lying to the FBI and later convicted for it about communicating with the Russians, or when Paul Manafort was investigated and later convicted for bank and tax fraud or when Roger Stone was investigated and later convicted for lying to Congress and witness tampering, an outraged President Trump repeatedly denounced the Department of Justice for prosecuting his cronies and reportedly got Attorney General William Barr to pressure prosecutors to recommend more leniency in their cases,” he continued. Trump Says He Would Directly Tell Putin, ‘Honorable’ Zelensky to End War; Trump Claims Media Lying About Ukraine War

By Daily Caller. Former President Donald Trump said Tuesday he would tell Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to end the war between their countries.

Russia invaded Ukraine Feb. 24, 2022, launching a massive attack across the latter country. The United States has sent over $100 billion in aid to Ukraine, and announced in January they would send 31 M1 Abrams main battle tanks after a December announcement that a battery of MIM-104 Patriot surface-to-air missiles would be provided.

“I know Zelenskyy very well because he was very honorable with the fake phone call impeachment hoax number one. They said I made a phone call to him and I was threatening,” Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity. “I was actually very nice, congratulating him, but when they asked, they said, ‘were you threatened?’ He didn’t even know what they were talking about.”

“He is very honorable. He could’ve done grandstanding and said he felt threatened. He didn’t do that,” Trump continued. “As you know, I get along very well with Putin. I would tell Putin, you’ve got to settle. I would tell Zelenskyy, you’ve got to settle. Trump Says Media Lying About Ukraine War: ‘Hundreds of Thousands of People Are Dying’

Trump made the remarks during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity in Iowa after he said over the weekend that he would threaten Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine by telling him that if he did not, the U.S. would send more weapons to Ukraine than they have ever received before.

Congressman Says Biden Took $100 Million From Foreign Sources

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) shocked Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on Tuesday by claiming that the Biden family wrongly took up to $100 million from foreign sources.

“And so people wonder, you know, is Joe Biden basically compromised as vis-a-vis the Chinese Communist Party, which runs China, of course,” Biggs said. “And these things begin to look real. And we’re talking, Maria, we’re talking literally, it’s not $10 million. It’s well over $20, $30 million in some estimates, as high as $100 million flowing through these accounts.”
