China ‘Shocked’ by U.S. Actions in Trade Dispute

By BBC. China said it is “shocked” after the US announced plans for fresh tariffs, escalating a trade war between the two countries.

The US listed $200bn (£150bn) worth of additional products it intends to place tariffs on as soon as September.

The move comes just days after the two countries imposed tit-for-tat tariffs of $34bn on each other’s goods.

Beijing described Washington’s latest threat as “totally unacceptable,” saying it would harm the world.

“The behaviour of the US is hurting China, hurting the world and hurting itself,” a spokesperson for China’s commerce ministry said in a statement. (Read more from “China ‘Shocked’ by U.S. Actions in Trade Dispute” HERE)

Markets Rattled as Trump Escalates China Trade War With Tariffs on $200bn of Imports

By The Guardian. . .Overnight, Donald Trump began the process of slapping 10% tariffs on a further $200bn of imports from China, on top of the $34bn (soon to be $50bn) imposed last week.

The move is a significant escalation of the trade war between Washington and Beijing, further raising the dangers of a major economic shock.

US trade representative Robert Lighthizer announced that the US was acting because China had not heeded previous warnings.

For more than a year, the Trump administration has patiently urged China to stop its unfair practices, open its market, and engage in true market competition.

We have been very clear and detailed regarding the specific changes China should undertake. Unfortunately, China has not changed its behaviour — behaviour that puts the future of the US economy at risk.”

Gasp! Is Science Leaning Toward Creation of Man?

Say what? Human beings didn’t develop randomly out of primordial ooze? Rising spectacularly against the odds to create order from chaos like nothing else? Well, no. Much like science has blown the myth that a developing child is merely a blob of cells – something our troglodytic ancestors shockingly accepted – a current study published in the journal Human Evolution is shaking the foundations of evolutionist presumptions.

PhysOrg reports results indicate that “… nine out of 10 species on Earth today, including humans, came into being 100,000 to 200,000 years ago.” . . .

“In the past,” according to PJMedia, “researchers studied DNA in the nucleus of cells, which differs markedly from one species to another. But the new study analyzed a gene sequence found in mitochondrial DNA. (Mitochondria, the powerhouses of cells, produce about 90 percent of a cell’s chemical energy.) Although mitochondrial DNA is similar across all humans and animals, it also contains tiny bits that are different enough to distinguish between species. This difference allows researchers to estimate the approximate age of a species.”

And it’s the age that’s telling. So either the majority of life began nearly 200,000 years ago, or it re-emerged after a population bust. Cataclysmic event? Creation? Whatever the explanation, 200,000 years is not a long enough period of time to account for the random mutation evolutionists have speculated upon to gird their attempt to play God, substituting science for scripture.

Lead scientist David Thaler admits, “This conclusion is very surprising, and I fought against it as hard as I could.” Why? Well, because the findings clearly indicate evolutionist theory is just that: a best guess, perhaps a biased one put forth by those who do not want to admit the logic behind the theory of intelligent design. U.S. Embassy in London Alerts Americans of Possible Violence During Trump Visit

By The Blaze. . .Widespread protests are being planned across Britain to take place while the US president is in the country. In an effort to prepare and warn Americans ahead of the demonstrations, the US Embassy is encouraging its citizens to take extra precautions.

With tens of thousands of Brits signed up to take part in the protests of President Trump’s policies, the embassy further warned that “several of the events are expected to attract large crowds and there will be road closures in connection with these events.” . . .

It’s all about “the resistance.” Environmentalist groups, trade unions, refugee advocates and other interest groups are teaming up to try and make the president’s visit as uncomfortable as possible. . .

Shabbir Lakha, organizer for Together Against Trump — a coalition representing several groups — said, “We want to show our opposition to Donald Trump and everything that he represents.”

News editor Gordon Robertson of The Daily Record said, “We have a great respect for the office of the president and affection for American presidents, but not the incumbent.” Robertson called President Trump “a threat to international stability,” and added that “he has a tenuous relationship with the truth. We want to let him know that we don’t appreciate what he stands for.” (Read more from “U.S. Embassy in London Alerts Americans of Possible Violence During Trump Visit” HERE)

Cave Rescue: The Divers Who Got the Thai Boys out

By BBC. The rescuers who worked to save the group trapped in a Thai cave were a mix of international divers collaborating with Thai navy Seals.

The 12 boys and their football coach were first found by British divers but the effort to get them out was a truly global operation.

Several Thai navy divers took part in the rescue. One ex-navy diver, Saman Gunan, died in the cave last Friday.

Little information has been released about exactly who was involved and how, largely because most participants have been reluctant to talk.

It is thought that dozens of divers – Thai and foreign – were part of the efforts. (Read more from “Cave Rescue: The Divers Who Got the Thai Boys out” HERE)

Lesbian Feminists Protest Transgenders at Pride Parade, Fulfill Predictions of Internecine Conflict Among Perverted Left

We told you it would happen, and it finally has. Conservatives long predicted that feminism and transgenderism were ultimately incompatible, but for a long time it seemed like the LGBT movement might just hold them together. Well, on Saturday that movement burst open, as lesbians led the parade in attacking transgenderism.

“Transactivism Erases Lesbians!” read a banner that temporarily led the Pride in London march in the heart of Britain’s capital.

This banner naturally caused quite a stir, with London Mayor Sadiq Khan denouncing it in a statement. “Pride is about celebrating difference and London’s amazing LGBT+ community,” Khan’s spokesperson told PinkNews. “It’s about showing those round the world that in our great city you can be free to be whoever you want to be and love whoever you want to love. The vast majority of those present at today’s march respected and embraced that and the Mayor condemns the tiny minority who did not.” . . .

While Khan was meant to lead the march, he ended up stuck behind the group “Get the L Out,” a lesbian organization dedicated to separating lesbian identity from transgender identity. They started demanding that activists take the “T” out of “LGBT,” but settled for opting out themselves, demanding the “L” be removed.

Pride in London, the group behind the parade, gave various explanations for allowing “Get the L Out” to lead the way. An earlier statement suggested the organizations allowed the lesbian group, supporting their intent to protest. “As we found in our recent Pride Matters report, 24% of people say a Pride is protest. 78% said it was a celebration,” a spokesperson said. Good Boy: British Special Forces Combat Dog Takes Down Three Syrian Jihadis, Saves Fellow Soldiers

By The Daily Wire. A Special Air Services dog is being hailed as a hero after he successfully fought off a Jihadi surprise attack while his unit was on patrol in Syria.

The un-named Belgian Malinois was on a “routine patrol” in a small Syrian village with six British Special Air Services soldiers, when the unit came under surprise attack — a “360 degree ambush,” the Daily Mail reports. The soldiers fired on the Jihadis, but they were out-manned, and quickly surrounded.

One of the soldiers let the dog out of his leash and signaled for the dog to attack. . .

“The handler removed the dog’s muzzle and directed him into a building from where they were coming under fire,” according to reports obtained by the Daily Star. “They could hear screaming and shouting before the firing from the house stopped.” . . .

“[The gunman’s] throat had been torn out and he had bled to death,” the report said. “There was also a lump of human flesh in one corner and a series of blood trails leading out of the back of the building.” (Read more from “Good Boy: British Special Forces Combat Dog Takes Down Three Syrian Jihadis, Saves Fellow Soldiers” HERE)

Hero SAS Dog Saves the Lives of Six Elite Soldiers in Syria by Ripping out Jihadi’s Throat While Taking Down Three Terrorists Who Ambushed British Patrol

By The Daily Mail. An SAS team was saved after a brave military dog fought off a jihadi who attacked a patrol in northern Syria.

The unnamed Belgian Malinois, a fierce breed of sheepdog known for its bravery, had been out on a routine patrol with a team of six crack soldiers from the SAS.

The animal was said to have leapt to the defence of the struggling British soldiers, tearing the throat of on gunman who was firing at the patrol.

It then turned on two other jihadis, leaving them seriously injured before the other six ambushers all fled. (Read more from “Hero SAS Dog Saves the Lives of Six Elite Soldiers in Syria by Ripping out Jihadi’s Throat While Taking Down Three Terrorists Who Ambushed British Patrol” HERE)

Thai Cave Rescue: Operation Resumes for Remaining 9 Who Are Trapped

By CBS News. Four people were rescued Sunday from a flooded cave in Thailand where they were trapped for 16 days. The team of divers is expected to resume the mission Monday to rescue the remaining eight boys and their soccer coach.

The boys, ages 11-16, and their 25-year-old coach became stranded when they went exploring in the cave after a practice game. Monsoon flooding blocked off their escape and prevented rescuers from finding them for almost 10 days.

The four who were rescued were taken to a hospital in Chiang Rai for evaluation. Two divers were assigned to each child to help them navigate the dangerous, narrow passageways. The next phase could begin Monday after rescue teams replenish the supply of oxygen tanks along the route. It could take two to four days complete the mission, officials said.

On Friday, the death of a former Thai navy SEAL underscored the risks. The diver, the first fatality of the rescue effort, was working in a volunteer capacity and died on a mission to place oxygen canisters along the route.

Chiang Rai acting Gov. Narongsak Osottanakorn said Saturday that mild weather and falling water levels in recent days had created the “perfect” conditions for an underwater evacuation. Those conditions won’t last if the rain resumes, he said. (Read more from “Thai Cave Rescue: Operation Resumes for Remaining 9 Who Are Trapped” HERE)

Thai Cave Rescue: Remaining Trapped Boys Wait to Escape

By BBC. . .Rescuers decided to go ahead with the hazardous operation because of fears of rising waters. The group have been trapped since 23 June.

Activity at the dive site early on Monday suggests that the operation to free the remaining members of the group may be under way or about to resume.

At least seven ambulances have driven towards the cave entrance.

The first stage of the mission ran “smoothly” and the rescued boys were in “good health”, according to the Thai authorities.

But with heavy rainfall overnight and more forecast for the coming days, divers will need to work quickly to free those still trapped. On Saturday, Narongsak Osottanakorn, governor of the Chiang Rai province, said that teams had a three to four-day window to carry out their operation. Man Dies Protecting His Children From Polar Bear

By ABC News. . .Aaron Gibbons, 31, was at a popular fishing and hunting place on Sentry Island in Hudson Bay, approximately 10 kilometers from the hamlet of Arviat on the western shore, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and Gibbons’s uncle, Gordy Kidlapik.

When Gibbons saw the bear, he jumped in between his children and the animal and told his kids to run to the boat, Kilapik told ABC News via direct message on Twitter. . .

Gibbons’ children ran and called for help on CB radio, Kidlapik said on Twitter, referring to Gibbons as “qangiaq,” the Inuinnaqtun word for nephew.

“The victim was unarmed at the time of the attack,” officials said. “The polar bear was put down by another adult as other individuals were on the island nearby.” . . .

“Research suggests that polar bear attacks are typically associated with nutritional stress in the animal,” Churchill Wild told ABC News in a statement. “We don’t know yet the circumstances surrounding this incident nor the motivation for the attack so we aren’t in a position to provide an educated comment as to the cause.” (Read more from “Man Dies Protecting His Children From Polar Bear” HERE)

Trudeau on Groping Allegation: I Did Nothing Wrong but Someone May Have Experienced It ‘Differently’

By Townhall. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau responded again Thursday to allegations that he groped a female reporter nearly 20 years ago at the 2000 Kokanee Summit festival. . .

Initially the Canadian Prime Minister told The Washington Post that he remembered “no negative interactions from that day. . .

However, on Thursday, Trudeau admitted that he did apologize to the reporter and that he respects that she “might have experienced” the interaction “differently.”

“If I apologized later, it would be because I sensed that she was not entirely comfortable with the interaction that we had,” he said, before finally admitting, “I apologized in the moment.”

“I’ve been reflecting very carefully on what I remember from that incident almost 20 years ago,” he added. “I do not feel that I acted inappropriately in any way. But I respect the fact that someone else might have experienced that differently.” (Read more from “Trudeau on Groping Allegation: I Did Nothing Wrong but Someone May Have Experienced It ‘Differently'” HERE)

Woman Who Accused Trudeau of Groping Breaks Her Silence

By CBC. The woman who alleged Prime Minister Justin Trudeau touched her inappropriately some two decades ago issued a statement Friday saying the incident happened as described — but she now wants to be left alone.

“I issue this statement reluctantly, in response to mounting media pressure to confirm that I was the reporter who was the subject of the Open Eyes editorial, published in the Creston Valley Advance in August of 2000,” Rose Knight, the former journalist, wrote.

“The incident referred to in the editorial did occur, as reported. Mr. Trudeau did apologize the next day. I did not pursue the incident at the time and will not be pursuing the incident further. I have had no subsequent contact with Mr. Trudeau, before or after he became Prime Minister.”

Knight, who said she has since left journalism, added she will not speak any further about the incident. (Read more from “Woman Who Accused Trudeau of Groping Breaks Her Silence” HERE)

China Says the U.S. Has Started ‘the Biggest Trade War’ in History

By CNN Money. China on Friday accused the United States of starting “the biggest trade war in economic history” as US tariffs took effect on Chinese goods worth $34 billion.

“China is forced to strike back to safeguard core national interests and the interests of its people,” the country’s Commerce Ministry said in a statement after US tariffs kicked in just after midnight ET, which is noon in Beijing. . .

Even before Friday, the trade dispute between the world’s top two economies had rattled markets and prompted warnings from companies of damage to their bottom lines and higher prices for consumers.

The United States is also set to impose 25% tariffs on another $16 billion in Chinese exports later in the summer, and China has vowed to retaliate against US goods worth a similar amount. (Read more from “China Says the U.S. Has Started ‘the Biggest Trade War’ in History” HERE)
