Furious Backlash: Liberal Reporter Slammed for Scolding Family of American Hero Killed in Kabul

Politico co-congressional bureau chief Heather Caygle is facing intense backlash for scolding the Gold Star family of one of the U.S. service members killed in the Kabul terrorist attack last month for not wearing masks during a tour in the Capitol Building.

Caygle took to Twitter on Thursday and shared a photograph featuring Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Calif, with a mostly maskless group of people in a mostly empty Statuary Hall.

“Masks requirement in the House. Tours not allowed. Yet here we are — group of 9, only 2 in masks,” Caygle swiped the group.

The journalist doubled down even after she was told McClintock was leading a tour for the family of Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee, who was among the 13 Americans who died from the suicide bombing at the Kabul airport amid the chaotic military withdrawal from Afghanistan.

CDC Urges ‘Pregnant People’ To Get COVID Vaccine

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) issued a health alert Wednesday urging people who are pregnant to get vaccinated against the Wuhan coronavirus.

In a press release, the CDC described it as “an urgent health advisory” and recommended that people who are pregnant, recently pregnant, or trying to become pregnant, get vaccinated to “prevent serious illness, deaths, and adverse pregnancy outcomes.” The advisory noted a large number of hospitalizations and deaths from COVID-19 in pregnant people along with “racial and ethnic disparities in vaccination coverage for pregnant people.”

“According to CDC data, only 31 percent of pregnant people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and vaccination rates vary markedly by race and ethnicity. Vaccination coverage is highest among Asian people who are pregnant (45.7 percent), but lower among Hispanic or Latino pregnant people (25 percent), and lowest among Black pregnant people (15.6 percent),” the press release states. Report: Fully Vaccinated Couple Dies From COVID-19 a Minute Apart While Holding Hands

A fully vaccinated Michigan couple died one minute apart from COVID-19 on Sunday, weeks after coming down with the virus.

Cal Dunham, 59, and his wife Linda, 66, had preexisting conditions and were very cautious, Fox17Online reported. But they came down with symptoms during a recent camping trip and days later were hospitalized and put on ventilators, the report said.

They did not improve and doctors told the family that they would likely need to come off life support on Monday. Their daughter Sarah Dunham told the outlet that the pair “had other plans.”

“It was Sunday and dad’s like, ‘You know what? This is what we’re going to do today,’” she said.

Why Did Facebook Spy on Kids’ Playdates?

Facebook researched how to market its products and services to preteen users, studying kids’ playdates and developing strategies to address parents’ concerns, according to an investigation by The Wall Street Journal.

The tech giant established a three-year project beginning in 2018 to study and develop marketing strategies geared towards preteen users, company documents seen by The Wall Street Journal revealed. Facebook conducted over a dozen studies to figure out which services most appeal to children under the age of 13, and what are parents’ chief concerns.

“Why do we care about tweens?” one document from 2020 read, according to the WSJ. “They are a valuable but untapped audience.”

One presentation titled “Exploring playdates as a growth lever” assessed whether playdates were a good situation in which to market Facebook’s Messenger Kids service, according to the WSJ. Facebook interviewed parents about the activities that typically take place during playdates to get a better understanding of how to “drive kid growth,” according to the documents.

ACLU Edits Women Out of Disgusting Pro-Abortion Quote To Make It More Trans Inclusive

The executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union apologized for a tweet that edited out women of a pro-abortion quote from late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg to make it more transgender inclusive.

The ACLU was ridiculed and mocked on social media after it posted the mutilated quote on its Twitter account last week.

Executive director Anthony Romero told the New York Times in an interview Monday that the organization regretted sending out the tweet.

“We won’t be altering people’s quotes,” Romero said. “It was a mistake among the digital team. Changing quotes is not something we ever did.”

He went on to defend the political motivation behind the edited quote by affirming that transgender people also need the right to abortions.

Pope Francis Condemns Abortion as ‘Direct Killing’ of Unborn Children

Pope Francis underscored the inviolable right to life from conception to natural death in an address to the Pontifical Academy for Life Monday.

People have gotten used to abortion, the pope said in his address in the Vatican, because they fail to look at the reality and see “it is really a murder.”

Abortion consists in “the disposal of children that we do not want to accept,” he said, meaning they are “returned to sender by direct killing.”

“It is really a murder and to understand it well perhaps it helps us to ask a double question: is it right to eliminate, to take out a human life to solve a problem?” he asked. “Is it okay to hire a hitman to solve a problem?”

Federal Judge Blocks NYC’s School COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate

New York City’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for teachers and other Department of Education staffers is on pause after a federal judge late on Sept. 24 granted a request to temporarily block it.

Plaintiffs, a group of teachers, asked for a temporary injunction, pending review by a three-judge panel on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

U.S. Appeals Court Judge Joseph Bianco, a George W. Bush nominee, granted the request in a one-page order.

The panel will now decide whether to impose an injunction pending appeal or allow the mandate to take effect.

Dad Brutally Beats Pastor Accused of Inappropriately Touching Son at Bus Stop

A father in Oklahoma City tackled a local pastor who was seen inappropriately touching his son at a bus stop, leaving the suspect with a cracked skull and a bloody mugshot.

“There’s hardly any words that are camera appropriate,” witness Lisa Ward said of the incident. “It’s just sickening.”

Oklahoma City Police arrested the suspect, Michael Coghill, on Wednesday, after he was recorded on camera touching a nine-year-old boy at a bus stop and was confronted by the boy’s father, according to News9. The police department, however, could not confirm to Fox News that the boy’s father was the one to confront the suspect due to the Open Records Act.

Local residents said that Coghill is a local pastor in the area.

The boy told police that Coghill would often jog near the bus stop and had stopped by the area on more than one occasion, according to the police report obtained by Fox News.

The boy said Coghill had visited the bus stop on Monday and touched him in a way that made him uncomfortable. The boy also told his parents about the incident on Monday, and the father accompanied the boy to the bus stop on Wednesday, according to local reports. House Democrats Pass Bill to Massively Expand Abortions

House Democrats passed a bill Friday that would codify Roe v. Wade and massively expand abortions in the United States.

The Women’s Health Protection Act of 2021, first introduced in 2013, passed the House 218 to 211 Friday. The 2021 House version was sponsored by Democratic California Rep. Judy Chu, while the 2021 Senate version was sponsored by Democratic Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal.

It is backed strongly by President Joe Biden’s administration.

“In the wake of Texas’ unprecedented attack, it has never been more important to codify this constitutional right and to strengthen health care access for all women, regardless of where they live,” White House officials said in a statement. “Our daughters and granddaughters deserve the same rights that their mothers and grandmothers fought for and won — and that a clear majority of the American people support.”
