The Washington Post Wants You to Fast for Ramadan

The far-Left anti-Trump propaganda organ masquerading as a news source and operating under the name the Washington Post on Thursday published an inspiring op-ed entitled “As American Muslims fast this Ramadan, maybe the rest of America should consider joining in.” The Post’s articles exhorting people to keep the Lenten fast or the Yom Kippur fast have not yet been published, but I’m sure that they will be when the appropriate times for them roll around again. Won’t they?

In the meantime, I’ll consider fasting for Ramadan, but I have a fairly good idea of what my conclusion will be. The article’s author, the imam Omar Suleiman, “founder and president of the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research and an Islamic studies professor at Southern Methodist University,” writes: “The end result of Ramadan for Muslims, according to the Koran, is for ‘you to complete the period and glorify God for that which He has guided you, and that you may be amongst the grateful.’”

That sounds terrific, but what exactly does the Qur’an mean by glorifying God? According to the Islamic holy book, one way that Muslims can glorify God is by fighting and killing infidels (cf. 2:191. 4:89, 9:5, 9:29, 47:4, etc.). In fact, according to the prophet of Islam, there is no better way to glorify the supreme being. A hadith has a Muslim asking Muhammad: “Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward).” Muhammad replied, “I do not find such a deed.” (Bukhari 4.52.44) A jihad group explained: “The month of Ramadan is a month of holy war and death for Allah. It is a month for fighting the enemies of Allah and God’s messenger, the Jews and their American facilitators.” (Read more from “The Washington Post Wants You to Fast for Ramadan” HERE)

Child Rapists Among 830 Inmates Freed in Massachusetts

Two men accused of raping children are among the nearly 830 Massachusetts inmates that have been freed in the last month over concerns of the Chinese coronavirus crisis spreading in prison facilities.

Convicted child rapist Glenn Christie, 54-years-old, and 29-year-old Matthew Parris, accused of raping two teenage girls this year, have both been released from Massachusetts prisons after the state’s supreme court has ordered the routine release of hundreds of accused and convicted criminals.

As of April 26, Massachusetts officials have released 824 inmates from state prisons since April 3. This means that the state is releasing about 36 inmates every day with no end in sight, all in an effort to empty jails to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. . .

Christie is one of the inmates set free thanks to the court order. In 2018, Christie was convicted for repeatedly raping a 12-year-old boy.

Parris, also freed from prison thanks to the court order, was arrested less than two months ago and charged with raping and sexually assaulting two teenage girls. (Read more from “Child Rapists Among 830 Inmates Freed in Massachusetts” HERE)

Woman Fights to Be Listed as ‘Father’ on Baby’s Birth Certificate

A transgender [woman] who gave birth to a child has lost [her] latest legal bid to be registered on the birth certificate as the father rather than the mother.

Freddy McConnell appealed against a decision made by a High Court judge that a person who carries and gives birth to a baby is legally a mother.

Mr McConnell, from Kent, wanted to be named father or parent on the document.

[She] said [she] was disappointed by the Court of Appeal ruling, adding that [her] fight was “just not over”. . .

Lord Chief Justice Lord Burnett said the Gender Recognition Act (GRA) required Mr McConnell to be registered as the mother, and the requirement did not violate [her] rights to private and family life, as set out in the European Convention on Human Rights. Government Proposes Ban on Transgender Procedures for Children

The British government is proposing a complete ban on transgender medical procedures for children, and American lawmakers would be “wise” to follow that example, contends a leading family advocate.

Peter Sprigg, senior fellow for policy studies for the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C., wrote that British officials don’t want to put young people “on a torturous and unnecessary path that is permanent and life-changing.”

“When state legislators in the U.S. are able to convene again,” he wrote, “they would be wise to follow the British example and prohibit ‘torturous and unnecessary’ gender transition medical procedures for minors.”

Liz Truss, the U.K.’s minister for women and equalities, recently told a parliamentary committee that the Conservative party government would propose amendments to the nation’s Gender Recognition Act.

Truss said a priority would be to make certain “the under 18s are protected from decisions that they could make, that are irreversible in the future.” (Read more from “Government Proposes Ban on Transgender Procedures for Children” HERE)

Army Chaplain Under Fire for Sharing Book ‘Coronavirus and Christ’

Twenty-two military chaplains are calling on a senior army chaplain to be disciplined and possibly court-martialed for sending nearly three-dozen other chaplains an email containing a copy of John Piper’s new e-book, Coronavirus and Christ.

Secretary of Defense Mark Esper is being urged by a national legal organization to punish Senior Chaplain Col. Moon H. Kim, the command chaplain of U.S. Army Garrison Humphreys in South Korea, the largest U.S. military installation outside of the United States.

In a letter sent this week, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation said Kim sent out an email using his official military email address to 35 other chaplains on Wednesday containing an “unsolicited” PDF copy of Piper’s new e-book Coronavirus and Christ.

MRFF, which advocates for a strict separation of church and state within the U.S. military, is representing 22 clients all of whom are Christians from mostly mainline and progressive traditions and felt if they came forward publicly in opposition to Kim’s email they would face repercussions. Researchers Find No Evidence of Children Passing Coronavirus to Adults

No child has been found to have passed coronavirus to an adult, a review of the evidence in partnership with the Royal College of Paediatrics has found.

Major studies into the impact of COVID-19 on young children suggest they “do not play a significant role” in spreading the virus and are less likely to become infected than adults.

While experts insist that more evidence is needed, they note there has not been a single case of a child under 10 transmitting the virus, even in contact tracing carried out by the World Health Organisation (WHO). . .

Led by Dr Alasdair Munro, a clinical research fellow in paediatric infectious diseases, the research concluded: “COVID-19 appears to affect children less often, and with less severity, including frequent asymptomatic or subclinical infection. There is evidence of critical illness, but it is rare.

“The role of children in transmission is unclear, but it seems likely they do not play a significant role.” (Read more from “Researchers Find No Evidence of Children Passing Coronavirus to Adults” HERE)

Yikes: The New York Times Issues Statement, Calls out Biden Campaign for Lying About Tara Reade Allegation

. . .Yesterday, a memo circulated from the Biden campaign that issued talking points about the Tara Reade sexual assault allegation. One of those talking points was to claim that The New York Times had done a “thorough investigation” and had essentially debunked the claim. We saw Stacey Abrams repeat that verbatim in an interview yesterday, where she ended by stating the assault “did not happen,” another line from the talking points.

Now, the Times is pushing back on the Biden campaign and its surrogates. They issued a statement pointedly saying that their previous article should not be used as evidence against Tara Reade and that it does not say what they are claiming it says. . .

I won’t kid myself though. The Times may have felt the need to offer a correction of the Biden campaign here, but they still aren’t going to take the Reade allegation seriously. They’ll continue to cover for the former VP just as they’ve done from the beginning. The real question is whether any Democrats will break rank. Where’s Bernie Sanders, who could likely rejuvenate his campaign right now if he took Reade’s side? He’s a political coward though, so I doubt he makes that move. I wonder how his fans feel knowing they got so thoroughly played by the old communist? Coronavirus Pandemic: Dozens of Bodies Found Stacked in Unrefrigerated U-Haul Trucks Outside of Funeral Home

An investigation is underway in New York City after authorities uncovered dozens of decomposing bodies in unrefrigerated trucks outside a funeral home.

In addition to being stacked in the U-Haul trucks, there were also reportedly bodies lying on the floor inside the facility. Sources told the New York Post that police discovered about 40 to 60 corpses when they arrived Wednesday at the scene outside Andrew T. Cleckley Funeral Services in Brooklyn.

Sgt. Jessica McRorie, a spokeswoman with the New York Police Department, told the Washington Examiner that police responded to a 911 call at about 11:30 a.m. She said officers were able to determine that the trucks were owned by a nearby funeral home. McRorie said that the New York State Department of Health and the state’s Department of Environmental Protection were conducting the investigation into the discovery.

The funeral home began storing bodies improperly after its freezer stopped working, a law enforcement source told the New York Times. . .

The NYPD was reportedly contacted after neighbors near the funeral home reported a foul odor coming from the property. One man who owns a nearby property, John DiPietro, told the New York Post he had seen bodies being placed in the trucks as the coronavirus continues to ravage New York. This State Was One Vote Away From Releasing an Infamous Serial Killer Into the Public Over COVID-19 Concerns

In 5-4 decision last Thursday, the Washington State Supreme Court narrowly denied a petition that would have released thousands of inmates from state prisons — including some who committed serious violent crimes such as assault, rape, and murder.

One of those inmates would have been infamous serial killer Gary Ridgeway, a stunning report by PJ Media noted.

Ridgeway, also known as “the Green River Killer,” was sentenced to 500 years in prison in 2003 after being convicted of murdering 49 women, many of whom were prostitutes, in the 1980s and 1990s. He later confessed to murdering upward of 80 women. . .

Columbia Legal Services filed the petition last month which sought the release of all state inmates over the age of 50, with early release dates, or with risk of serious harm or death from COVID-19 due to underlying medical conditions. Ridgeway is 71 years old.

Nick Straley, an attorney for the legal group, argued that thousands of inmates should be released in order to preserve their safety and to allow for social distancing within prison facilities. UNBELIEVABLE: U.S. Doctors Have Started Giving Men With Coronavirus Estrogen After Finding the Virus Kills Half as Many Women

By Daily Mail. Doctors are wondering if giving men two female sex hormones could make them more likely to survive the novel coronavirus. . .

This has led many researchers to wonder if the hormones mainly produced in women could be protective, reported The New York Times.

Two hospitals in the US are now putting that theory to the test, giving men estrogen or progesterone for a limited amount of time to see if it boosts their immune systems, decreases inflammation and reduces the severity of the illness.

Scientists say they don’t know why women seem less likely to die, but have suggested that women naturally tend to have stronger immune systems and are less likely to have long-term health conditions which make patients more vulnerable.

In China, researchers pointed the finger at men being more likely to smoke and drink, but this was a cultural factor which may be different in other countries. Doctors Have No Idea If It Will Work, But What the Heck. . .

By Nicoletta Lanese. The sex hormones estrogen and progesterone, which women produce in larger quantities than men, help to regulate the female immune system and may grant women special resistance against infections and harmful immune system responses, the Times reported. With that in mind, scientists at Cedars-Sinai and the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University plan to treat small groups of COVID-19 patients with the hormones, to see if they make a difference.

“We may not understand exactly how estrogen works [to counteract COVID-19], but maybe we can see how the patient does,” Dr. Sharon Nachman, the principal investigator of the Stony Brook University trial, told the Times.

The Stony Brook trial will include 110 patients with confirmed or presumed cases of COVID-19 who develop at least one serious symptom, such as high fever, shortness of breath or pneumonia, but do not yet require mechanical breathing support through intubation, according to ClinicalTrials.gov. All men ages 18 and older may enter the trial, as well as women ages 55 and older (women’s estrogen levels tend to decline after menopause.) Half the participants will be treated with an estrogen patch placed on their skin for one week, while the other half will receive standard medical care.
