Instead of Promoting Abortion, This Massive Food Chain Is Funding Adoption

By The Blaze. According to a Tuesday article published on Live Action, Wendy’s clearly has adoption on its mind over abortion.

According to the Family Council, some of the companies that widely support Planned Parenthood include Aetna, Clorox, Deutsche Bank, Mondelez International, Nike, Starbucks, United Airlines, and more.

In May, Netflix employees donated at least $20,000 to Planned Parenthood. Netflix announced that it would be reconsidering filming in Georgia as a result of the state’s new “heartbeat” law. . .

Through Wendy’s Wonderful Kids — a program belonging to The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption — children who belong to a group considered “more difficult-to-place” are given a leg up in achieving adoption.

As Businesses Rush to Support Abortion, Wendy’s Raises Funds for Adoption

By Live Action. Planned Parenthood frequently purports to be about “choice,” but only if the choice involves abortion. Although in 2018, just .03% of their services included adoption referrals (and even this must be questioned, as the corporation’s idea of “adoption referrals” is highly suspect), the abortion giant is frequently the recipient of lavish media and corporate support, while truly pro-life efforts like adoption get overlooked. Fast-food chain Wendy’s and its partner, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, has at its heart the interests of the children who are frequently trotted out as “reasons to abort” — those who are in foster care waiting to be adopted. According to a previous Live Action News article, “There are about 400,000 children in the U.S. foster care system. Just over 100,000 of them are eligible to be adopted, according to AdoptUSKids, and will likely be adopted by their foster parents. The majority of children in the foster care system are waiting to be reunited with their birth families, who are taking steps to get their children back.”

The Dave Thomas Foundation has its origins in being an advocacy group. Through their program, Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, they help the more difficult-to-place children — those who are older, have special needs, or are part of a sibling group — find loving homes using evidenced-based, child-focused methods. The Foundation is now seeking to go nationwide, and has partnered with Snapchat through the Cause Cup program. Starting in May, the Cause Cups at participating Wendy’s will have a Snapcode that, when scanned, will donate $5 to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption — for a total of up to $500,000. The donations will help bring the program to all 50 states and DC by 2028.

Woman Stabs Herself Because She Was ‘Tired of Living in Trump’s Country’

By Fox News. A Florida woman who stabbed herself three times in the stomach with a kitchen knife reportedly told responding officers it was all because of President Trump.

The Palmetto woman, whose name was redacted from a police report posted by the Smoking Gun, was found covered in blood standing outside her apartment on Sunday. When police asked what was wrong, she reportedly lifted up her shirt to show three stab wounds.

“I’m tired of living in Trump’s country. I’m tired of Trump being president,” she reportedly told the police. . .

The unidentified woman was transported to Blake Medical Center, where she was reportedly under a trauma alert. Woman Stabs Self 3 Times

By The Smoking Gun. Cops found the 46-year-old woman standing outside her residence in Palmetto Sunday, according to a police report. She had blood all over her legs, hands, and face, a cop noted.

When asked what was wrong, the woman lifted her shirt to reveal “three stab wounds on [her] stomach that were still bleeding.” She then told the patrolman she had “stabbed herself because she does not want to live in Trump’s country.” . . .

After evaluating the woman, a cop concluded that there was a “substantial likelihood” that she “will cause bodily harm to herself and/or others.” As a result, the officer appears to have recommended that the woman be involuntarily admitted to a mental health treatment facility (per the state’s Baker Act). Now California Is Going After Chick-Fil-A

Another city has taken up the torch in the Left’s ongoing quest to hound fast-food giant Chick-fil-A.

“A San Mateo County official is pushing to stop a Chick-fil-A restaurant from opening up in Redwood City,” reports CBS Local news. “The McDonald’s restaurant on Whipple could soon be tuning into a Chick-fil-A, making it the chain’s 13th restaurant in the San Francisco Bay Area.”

San Mateo County supervisor David Canepa told reporters he is seeking to prevent the restaurant from obtaining an “architectural permit” due to its founder, Dan Cathy, previously expressing support for traditional marriage and for donating funds to pro-marriage groups.

“This would not go before the city council — because it’s an existing use, it would just be administerial for the planning commission,” Canepa said. “When people think of the Chick-fil-A logo — what they think of is anti-LGBTQ.”

Canepa hopes the community pressure will be strong enough to persuade Chick-fil-A away from doing business. “What we are trying to do is to make sure Chick-fil-A — if they want to do business here — that there is a lot of pressure here and that they should do the right thing and withdraw their application,” he said. Gay Cops Can Attend ‘Pride’ but Not in Uniform

It’s an event that’s supposed to be all about inclusion, but for LGBTQ police officers in the city who’ve braved discrimination to be out in life and at work, they say their own community is excluding them from participating in PRIDE in uniform. . .

Now in his 15th year on the force, [Officer Jeff Kuhlmann’s] been told that as a gay man he can’t march in his own city’s PRIDE parade dressed as he appears on patrol.

“It happened because of certain people in the community being uncomfortable with seeing uniformed police officers at the PRIDE event,” he said. . .

The Sacramento police department has released the following statement about what’s happened:

“Our police department is disappointed that the LGBT Center does not want our officers attending upcoming public community events while in uniform. We support our LGBTQ officers who proudly serve our community on a daily basis. They have worked hard to earn these uniforms and are proud to wear them.”

Highway Patrol Chief Investigated After ‘Transphobic’ Bruce Jenner Facebook Post

By Daily Wire. Chief Mark Garrett of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) has been placed under investigation for posting a disparaging meme of Caitlyn Jenner on his personal Facebook page, which mocked the former athlete for presenting himself as a woman.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the investigation into Garrett’s Facebook post began when an L.A. Times reporter revealed it to CHP officials.

“The entry, which Garrett posted in April 2017, shows a photo of Jenner that is overlaid with a transphobic and vulgar message,” reports the outlet. “In bold type on Jenner’s image, it reads, ‘Anyone who says I’m not a lady can,” and then suggests the reader perform a sex act.”

Officer Garrett said he did not remember if he had shared the post or not, though he acknowledged knowing the woman who shared the original post. Several of his friends posted comments underneath that allegedly demeaned transgender people, according to the Times report. He added that the post does not reflect how he feels or the department’s values. . .

CHP Chief Investigated over Facebook Post About Caitlyn Jenner

By LA Times. . .Garrett said the posting doesn’t “reflect how I feel” or the department’s values.

“That was a personal Facebook page, and it has nothing to do with the CHP,” said Garrett, the chief of the Los Angeles-area CHP.

The department has launched an investigation into the post and denounced the image. The probe comes as prosecutors are reviewing whether CHP officers in the East L.A. station broke the law following an announcement in February by Garrett that dozens of officers had been relieved of duty amid falsified overtime allegations.

“While the post in question appeared on a personal Facebook page, which CHP policy does not specifically address, the post is not consistent with the department’s organizational values,” spokeswoman Fran Clader said. Rape Victim, 17, Uses Legal Euthanasia to End Life

By Fox News. A 17-year-old girl who wrote a book about her struggle with mental illness after being molested and raped has been euthanized in the Netherlands, where she lived and assisted-suicide is legal.

Reports say Noa Pothoven chose to end her life Sunday with the assistance of an end of life clinic, Inside Edition reported.

Under Netherlands law, a doctor has to sign off on the decision after concluding that the patient’s suffering is unbearable and likely to continue, the news outlet reported.

“I deliberated for quite a while whether or not I should share this, but decided to do it anyway,” she wrote on Instagram on the day before her death, according to Inside Edition. “Maybe this comes as a surprise to some, given my posts about hospitalization, but my plan has been there for a long time and is not impulsive.” . . .

Raped Girl, 17, Dies from Legal Euthanasia in Holland After Suffering ‘Unbearable Pain’ Since Childhood Abuse

By The Sun. . .Noa Pothoven died on Sunday in an “end-of-life clinic” bed in her living room in the Netherlands after battling mental health problems for years. . .

The first two incidents were molestations when she attended children’s parties aged 11 and 12 before she was raped by two men when she was 14 in the Elderveld neighbourhood of the city.

For years she never revealed the horrific abuse because it left her feeling ashamed, the 17-year-old said.

Last year, Noa said that she had reported the attacks to police saying she hoped the men will one day be arrested.

Russia Cuts Disturbing Homosexual Sex Scene from ‘Rocketman’

A Russian media company has reportedly cut all scenes featuring gay sex and men kissing from the Elton John biopic Rocketman because of laws banning “homosexual propaganda”.

An estimated five minutes of footage have been cut from the film in an attempt to play down the sexuality of one of the world’s most famous gay celebrities for a conservative Russian audience.

The cuts were first reported by Russian journalists after the film’s 30 May release in Moscow. Anton Dolin, a popular Russian film critic, wrote on Facebook that “all scenes with kissing, sex and oral sex between men have been cut out… The nastiest part is that the final caption has been removed from the finale.”

While the original caption said that John lives with his husband and that they are raising children together, the Russian version says instead that he established an Aids foundation and continues to work with his musical partner. . . .

On Friday, John and the film’s makers released a joint statement condemning the cuts: “We reject in the strongest possible terms the decision to pander to local laws and censor Rocketman for the Russian market, a move we were unaware of until today. Groping Case Against Pervert Kevin Spacey Returns to Court

By AP. Lawyers for Kevin Spacey are returning to court in the case accusing the former “House of Cards” star of groping a young man at a bar on the island of Nantucket.

A pretrial hearing is scheduled in the Nantucket District Court on Monday.

Kevin Spacey Pleads Not Guilty to Groping Young Man at Bar

By AP. Kevin Spacey pleaded not guilty Monday to groping an 18-year-old busboy in 2016 in the first criminal case brought against the disgraced actor following a string of sexual misconduct allegations that crippled his career.

Spacey’s court appearance came more than a year after former Boston TV anchor Heather Unruh accused the former “House of Cards” star of sexually assaulting her son in a bar on the Massachusetts resort island of Nantucket. . .

In court documents, Spacey’s lawyers called the accusations “patently false” and noted that prosecutors have no witnesses to the alleged groping. Spacey’s lawyers wrote that the teen lied about his age, “welcomed” drinks bought by Spacey, left the bar with him to smoke a cigarette and gave Spacey his phone number. Media Outlets Downplay, Cut Out Celebrity’s Credit to God for Cancer Recovery

In an interview with People magazine out Wednesday, Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek credited the prayers of millions of his fans for helping him in his fight against stage-four pancreatic cancer, now in “near remission.” Yet, while ABC’s World News Tonight touted Trebek’s praise, the CBS Evening News ignored that part of Trebek’s comments and NBC Nightly News edited it out of the quotes read and video clips they aired. . .

ABC anchor David Muir recalled how Trebek “vowed to fight it” by playing a soundbite of the gameshow host telling fans back in March: “With the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease.” . . .

Now let’s look at NBC’s edits. Correspondent Joe Fryer played the same soundbite of Trebek’s vow. But in this one, the NBC reporter spoke over the prayer part so it sounded like this: “I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease.” And so the edit stood out.

Next came the part where Fryer skipped over Trebek’s credits in the People magazine piece: “He tells People, “I’ve got a couple million people out there who have expressed good thoughts… I told the doctors this has to be more than just the chemo.” For Trebek, that support is part of the answer.” Compare that to what Muir said and what People magazine wrote.

Pope Francis Approves Change to Lord’s Prayer

Pope Francis finally approved the changes he has long wanted to implement to the Lord’s Prayer by replacing “lead us not into temptation” with “do not let us fall into temptation,” reports UCatholic.

“On May 22nd during the General Assembly of the Episcopal Conference of Italy, President Cardinal Gualtiero Bassetti announced the approval of a third edition of the Messale Romano,” reports the outlet. The revised translation will include changes to the Lord’s Prayer and Gloria. The Lord’s Prayer will change from ‘and lead us not into temptation’ to ‘do not let us fall into temptation.'”

Pope Francis first spoke of his desire to update the “lead us not into temptation” part of the Lord’s Prayer, arguing that it portrays God in a false light. “A father does not lead into temptation, a father helps you to get up immediately,” the Pope said at the time. . .

Pope Francis also asserted that other translations had already been changed to correct mistakes and to modernize the language. “The French have modified the prayer to ‘do not let me fall into temptation,’ because it is me who falls, not the Lord who tempts me to then see how I fall,” he said.

According to the U.K.’s Express, the change to the Lord’s Prayer comes after 16 years of research by experts who found a mistake in the current translation “from a theological, pastoral, and stylistic viewpoint.” It has been translated into literally hundreds of languages from the original texts in ancient Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic.
