House Passes a Staggering Abortion Bill – Here’s What It Says

By The Blaze. The Vermont House voted to pass a staggering bill that would allow abortion at any stage of pregnancy and for any reason whatsoever.

Critics say the legislation is more expansive of abortion rights than the extremist bills passed in New York and Virginia.

“Every individual who becomes pregnant has the fundamental right to choose to carry a pregnancy to term, give birth to a child, or to have an abortion,” the bill reads. . .

The bill would also strip unborn children of any rights or recognition of their personhood by the state.

Vermont House Passes Bill Legalizing All Abortion

By National Review. The Vermont House voted this evening to pass H57, which would legalize abortion at any stage of pregnancy and for any reason. “Every individual who becomes pregnant has the fundamental right to choose to carry a pregnancy to term, give birth to a child, or to have an abortion,” the bill states.

The bill was co-sponsored by 90 Democratic legislators and passed by a vote of 106-36.

This legislation is far more radical than the recent expansion of late-term abortion in New York, as well as the proposed expansions in Virginia and Rhode Island. Those bills allow abortion for any reason up to viability and essentially allow for abortion up to birth, creating “health” exceptions that are often loosely interpreted to permit abortion on demand after viability as well.

Rather than crafting health exceptions like these that amount to tacit permission for post-viability abortion, the Vermont bill offers a blanket permission slip for any and all abortion, throughout pregnancy, and for any reason. And not only that, but the bill text contains a provision dehumanizing unborn children: “A fertilized egg, embryo, or fetus shall not have independent rights under Vermont law.” (Read more from “Vermont House Passes Bill Legalizing All Abortion” HERE)

WATCH: Conservative Activist Punched in the Face on Berkeley Campus

Police at the University of California Berkeley were called to a student plaza on Tuesday after reports that a representative of the conservative Leadership Institute was physically assaulted by a man on the campus. Part of the assault was captured on cellphone video that has since been shared online by Turning Point USA, the conservative group the representative was reportedly helping train.

Citing a campus police alert that went out Wednesday, the paper reports that the alleged victim, a male Leadership Institute representative, “had been tabling for the conservative group Turning Point USA on Tuesday afternoon about 3:29 p.m. when two males approached the table.”

The victim told police that he and the two men became embroiled in a verbal altercation, at which point he began filming the escalating exchange with his phone. One of the two alleged attackers reportedly slapped the phone out of the activist’s hand and then overturned the table the group was using to recruit.

“While he and the suspect struggled for the phone, the suspect punched the victim several times, causing injury to the victim’s eye and nose,” the Daily Californian reports. By the time police arrived, the suspect had already left the scene.

A student who witnessed the attack filmed the second part of the altercation on his phone, and TPUSA’s Charlie Kirk has tweeted out the footage, writing, “Imagine if the attacker was wearing MAGA hat, would be national news!”

He lived through much of the 1900s and very well knows that it was a century bathed in the blood shed by communist governments. He knows that communism very recently killed 100 million people, and that it continues to add to the body count even today. Yet he advocates for communist policies and wishes to see the great evil of the 20th century reborn in the 21st. What else can we call this but morally deranged?

Shocker: Media Still Trying to Pretend Planned Parenthood Didn’t Sell Baby Body Parts

When CNN recently hired Sarah Isgur, Jeff Sessions’ former spokeswoman, to be a political editor at its Washington bureau, the predictable backlash from left-dominated media types and activists followed. Even the allegedly unbiased CNN newsroom was reportedly “demoralized” at the mere thought of a Republican on staff. No word on how former Obama official, now CNN’s chief national security correspondent and co-anchor of “CNN Newsroom,” Jim Sciutto, felt about the development.

Isgur was accused of holding various right-of-center positions. And when a former political activist-turned-Vox writer claimed that Isgur “pushed Planned Parenthood conspiracy theories that were grounded in misleadingly edited videos,” the talking point quickly gained popularity with Isgur’ detractors.

The alleged proof of this conspiracy theorizing resides in a single retweet of a Federalist piece written by my colleague Mollie Hemingway, praising Isgur’s former boss Carly Fiorina for highlighting a series of undercover videos released in 2015, clearly catching Planned Parenthood executives and doctors admitting to illegally profiting from the sale of the fetal tissue of aborted babies.

The only conspiracy theory attached to the incident was spread by pro-abortion activists and Planned Parenthood apologists, which included CNN’s news division and other major media outlets, who either ignored the shocking videos or falsely and repeatedly claimed that videos of executives breezily discussing the harvesting and illegal selling of baby parts had been “heavily” and “deceptively” edited.

The fact was that Center for Medical Progress had edited the footage in the same manner news organizations always edit footage: they highlight the newsworthy parts of conversations. Unlike most of their media detractors, though, the Center for Medical Progress posted the entire raw footage of the tapes for anyone to watch. U.S. Child Reported Missing in Mexican Border City

Mexican federal authorities in the border city of Reynosa issued an Amber Alert over the disappearance of a 10-year-old girl described as a U.S. citizen.

Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office revealed that 10-year-old Dulce Maria Hernandez was last seen on Tuesday in Reynosa and there is a strong possibility that she could be the victim of a crime.

The information released by the Amber Alert officials in Tamaulipas did not reveal the circumstances of the girl’s disappearance nor additional details on the case. Authorities also did not disclose if Hernandez lived in Mexico or in the U.S. at the time of her disappearance. Hernandez was last seen wearing a short sleeve gray shirt, a black jacket, blue jeans, and black sneakers with fuchsia letters. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Mexico’s Amber Alert unit at 01 800 00 854 00 or the Tamaulipas Attorney General’s Office at 01 834 31 861 50. Oh, so Is This What Sparked Jussie Smollett to Allegedly Orchestrate His Own Hate Crime?

You’ve got to be kidding me? This is why actor Jussie Smollett reportedly staged his own hate crime. Apparently, Smollett was the recipient of a racist letter containing a white powder, later determined to be aspirin, on January 22 that didn’t get enough attention. So, he reportedly orchestrated his own assault in sub-zero temperatures that was executed on January 29. He allegedly hired two Nigerian brothers to do it. They bought the rope that was tied around his neck (allegedly). They even held rehearsals…allegedly. But seriously, this reportedly was over a letter?

Empire” actor Jussie Smollett reportedly staged an attack against himself in late January after a “racist” letter sent to the TV show’s studio, which contained a white powder, did not get a “bigger reaction,” according to a local Chicago news station.

A source told CBS Chicago the actor allegedly “concocted” the “staged” Jan. 29 attack and paid his “acquaintances”—brothers Ola and Abel Osundairo—over $3,000 to carry it out.

Smollett reportedly opened the letter on Jan. 22 at Chicago’s Cinespace Studios, and the white powder prompted a HAZMAT team to respond. Chicago Police Department told the news station that the substance turned out to be asprin. Cinespace Studios would not comment to The Daily Beast about the incident. Fox, “Empire’s” network, also declined to provide comment or confirmation.

College Forced to Investigate After Church of Scientology Allegedly Forges Letter From Professor

The University of Southern California has been forced to open an investigation after discovering that the Church of Scientology may have forged a letter from one of its professors, begging Disney Corporation CEO Bob Iger to censor Leah Remini’s Scientology expose series, “Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath.”

The Church of Scientology has allegedly been recruiting a group of “interfaith leaders” to challenge the show, which the Church contends violates their right to free exercise of religion. The interfaith group, which includes members of the Scientology-aligned Los Angeles Faith Coalition of California, has held a number of press availabilities and protests in both Florida and California in an effort to put direct pressure on Disney to drop Remini’s program.

In one recent incident, documented by journalist and Scientology critic Tony Ortega, a dozen or so members of the group gathered across the street from the entrance to Disney Studios and sang, “It’s a Small World.” The protest does not appear to have had the desired impact.

USC Fellow Dr. Cecil “Chip” Murray — a longtime friend of the Church of Scientology — appears to be a key member of this “interfaith coalition,” and, according to a Scientology press release issued recently, authored a very terse and demanding letter to Iger, on USC letterhead, about Remini’s program, alleging that Disney is “complicit” in “violence” that has come about as a result of Remini’s investigations, and accusing Disney of “inciting hatred” against religion.

Judge Rules That Names of Planned Parenthood Workers Will Remain Sealed

By Townhall. Last Monday, a California judge ruled that the names of 14 Planned Parenthood workers and others will remain sealed during the prosecution of two pro-life activists charged with secretly recording them.

According to an AP report, the ruling was made by San Francisco Superior Court Judge Christopher Hite even though the names had already been published by LifeSite News over the weekend.

Hite threatened to punish anyone caught providing the names. Charges were first filed against David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress in 2017. . .

The disturbing videos were first released by the Center for Medical Progress in 2015. They allegedly depict Planned Parenthood executives and workers discussing the illegal harvesting and selling-for-profit of body parts of aborted babies. Subjects in the videos can be seen discussing prices, picking through fetal arms and legs in a tray, and figuring out which abortion methods might work best for obtaining fetal body parts to sell. By AP. A California judge ruled Monday that the names of 14 Planned Parenthood workers and others will remain sealed during the prosecution of two anti-abortion activists charged with secretly recording them. . .

One the Planned Parenthood workers filed an affidavit saying Daleiden has her phone number and texted her in 2016 saying, ”‘I know a lot has happened in the past year, and maybe I’m the last person you want to hear from. But if there’s anything I can do to help you, please let me know.’”

Ocasio-Cortez Is Living the High Life in Luxury DC Apartments

Democratic Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) made a big deal about not being able to afford rent in both New York City and Washington, D.C. She said that, without her $174,000 salary as a Congresswoman, she wouldn’t be able to afford two apartments. She even had a celebrity chef offer to let the Congresswoman-elect to stay with his family until she got on her feet.

Fast forward a couple months later and Ocasio-Cortez is now living in luxury apartments in Washington, D.C.’s Navy Yard neighborhood, where rent for a studio apartment exceeds $2,000 a month, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

From the Free Beacon:

Her office pushed back against the notion that it was hypocritical for Ocasio-Cortez, who has made housing affordability one of her top policy concerns, to move into a luxury building. A spokesman pointed out that her office also uses a car with an “internal combustion engine that runs on fossil fuels,” even though she thinks their use should be eliminated.

Many sympathized with Ocasio-Cortez’s stated difficulty with finding an apartment in D.C., where rents have been on the rise in recent years. Affording a second residence in the capital has proven to be a challenge for lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, with some choosing to live together with colleagues or to bunk up in their congressional office as cost-saving measures.

How New York’s Radical Abortion Law Will Hurt Preemies and People With Down Syndrome

Last week, a spokesperson for the Queens district attorney’s office announced that a New York man accused of stabbing his pregnant girlfriend to death repeatedly in the abdomen and neck would not be charged with second-degree abortion due to the repeal of that statute in the recently passed Reproductive Health Act (RHA), which expanded abortion access to the point of birth in the state.

Not an ounce of the justice due to the unborn child of Jennifer Irigoyen will be sought, all because pro-death officials elected by New Yorkers have succeeded in their mission to define all pre-born human life in their state as disposable non-persons.

Pro-lifers often criticize pro-choice language as myopically, disingenuously focused on “a woman and her doctor.” We assert that a child is involved, too––a child who is being killed. We point out the value of pre-born life and “the mother-child bond,” but in our zeal for saving pre-born babies from abortion, we often unwittingly restrict our focus to what happens in the surgical room of abortion clinics and the doctors’ offices that prescribe abortifacients. . .

Women have been pressured to abort babies with abnormalities or difficult pregnancies to the point of others scheduling the abortion without their express consent and trying to scare them with all the potential problems their child may face. They face this pressure because abortion has become the first “solution” to the problem of a difficult pregnancy, simply because it is legal and ostensibly more convenient and less expensive than giving birth and trying to potentially raise a disabled child, or trying to balance cancer treatment with preserving the baby’s health.

The tragedy doesn’t even end at the deaths of pre-born babies with abnormalities––the effect of killing off the vast majority of certain populations, as Denmark and the Netherlands have done with Down Syndrome, is a drastic decrease in quality of life for the few who are allowed to live due to scarce resources and an ever-increasing pressure for women to abort a baby with that diagnosis. If nearly every baby of a certain diagnosis is aborted, there is little incentive to develop treatments and therapy for those conditions, much less make them affordable.
