Army Recruiter Pursues Shoplifting Suspects While Pushing 10-Month-Old Daughter in Stroller

By The Blaze. Staff Sgt. Sean Olivia of the Minneapolis Recruiting Company was shopping with his 10-month-old daughter at Southdale Center in Edina on Sunday when he saw four men take merchandise from the Apple Store and leave without paying, an Army spokesperson told KMSP-TV.

Store employees did not intervene, the station said, so Olivia chased the suspects while pushing his daughter in a stroller.

And if these fellas thought they’d soon give the slip to this veteran of two deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, they were sadly mistaken. Olivia soon passed his daughter to a bystander and pursued the suspects into the parking ramp, KMSP said. . .

Olivia had the presence of mind to take photos of the culprits and their vehicle’s license plate, the station said, after which he flagged down an Edina cop who was patrolling the parking ramp and pointed the officer to the suspects. The suspects fled police, but were stopped when a second officer cut off their escape route. The suspect were arrested.

Olivia joined the military in 2005 and has two deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, the U.S. Army said. (For more from the author of “U.S. Army Recruiter Stops Shoplifters at Southdale Center While Pushing Stroller” please click HERE)

Pro-Life Advocate Abby Johnson Responds to Rating for Film

Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood clinical director who is now a well-known pro-life activist, is reportedly “unconcerned” that the controversial new movie about her life, “Unplanned,” has received an R-rating from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA.)

“We are pushing the boundaries of what has never been before on such a wide scale by showing America exactly what abortion is — and abortion is disturbing. It’s violent,” 38-year-old Johnson told Fox News in a written statement.

“In my opinion, one of the most impactful films of our time is ‘The Passion of the Christ.’ It was rated R. So I feel like ‘Unplanned’ is in good company. An R rating from the MPAA isn’t going to slow this movie down. I believe people are ready for the truth.”

Pure Flix is the company responsible for the production and distribution of the anti-abortion film, which is scheduled to be released on March 29. Though the filmmakers admit to having been initially surprised by the MPAA’s rating of the film, they also told Fox News that they’re not too concerned about it. . .

“I feel the fix is in,” [Investor Mike] Lindell told Fox News. “Whoever rated this movie must not be watching TV or videos on social media! I have a cameo in this movie and do not appreciate the R-rating. I got involved to get a message out to everyone with this true story. What a shame that some might be blocked by an R-rating from getting the truth. I hope millions of Americans will ignore this attempt at moviegoer suppression and flood the box office on opening day.” (Read more from “Pro-Life Advocate Abby Johnson Responds to Rating for Film” HERE)

Actress Found Dead After Hinting at Alleged Pedophile Ring

A former Big Brother star has died under mysterious circumstances shortly after making explosive claims linking a number of celebrities to paedophilia. . .

Argentinian-born Natacha Jaitt’s naked body was found over the weekend following a house party in Buenos Aires.

Local media report there was evidence of drug use found at the scene — but in an eerie twist, the socialite and former Playboy model seems to have predicted her own death just months earlier. . .

“WARNING: I am not going to commit suicide, I am not going to take too much cocaine and drown in a bath, or shoot myself. So if this happens, IT WASN’T ME. Save this tweet,” she wrote in Spanish, according to the Buenos Aires Times.

The alarming tweet was published after Ms Jaitt accused a number of well-known public figures — including politicians, journalists, entertainers and sports stars from several big-name clubs — of being involved in underage prostitution earlier that year on live TV. Radical Abortion Laws Cause ‘Dramatic’ Spike in Americans Identifying as Pro-Life

A new Marist poll commissioned by the Knights of Columbus (KofC) finds that just as many Americans consider themselves “pro-life” as “pro-choice,” representing a surprising increase from a poll the same organization released just a month ago.

Last month, Marist released its annual abortion survey, which found that just 38% of Americans considered themselves “pro-life” versus 55% “pro-choice,” with an additional 7% unsure. 48% of Americans said they would either completely ban abortions or limit them to cases of rape, incest, or to save a mother’s life; the rest of the findings indicated overwhelming majority support for restricting abortion much more than it is today.

On Monday, Marist released another poll, which now finds the “pro-life” and “pro-choice” labels tied at 47% with 6% unsure, and a combined 58% of Americans who would ban all or most abortions. Only 21% of Americans would allow elective abortions past the first trimester, down from 24%

Assuming the numbers aren’t outliers, they appear to be a reaction to a month’s worth of national attention on a series of bills proposed in several states that would allow effectively unrestricted abortion up until birth, as well as congressional Democrats’ opposition to legislation that would mandate medical care for infants who survive attempted abortions.

“Current proposals that promote late-term abortion have reset the landscape and language on abortion in a pronounced – and very measurable – way,” Marist Poll director Barbara Carvalho said. “The recent legal changes to late-term abortion and the debate which followed have not gone unnoticed by the general public. In just one month, there has been a significant increase in the proportion of Americans who see themselves as pro-life and an equally notable decline in those who describe themselves as pro-choice.” (Read more from “Radical Abortion Laws Cause ‘Dramatic’ Spike in Americans Identifying as Pro-Life” HERE)

Watch Your Kids: Pediatrician Finds Wrist-Slitting Suicide Tip Spliced Into Video on YouTube Kids App

By The Blaze. A Florida pediatrician found a suicide tip spliced in the middle of a video posted to the YouTube Kids app, WFTX-TV reported.

The clip is of a popular Nintendo game called Splatoon, CBS News said — except for an unrelated portion in the middle showing a person saying, “Remember kids, sideways for attention, longways for results. End it.”

According to the Washington Post, the person appeared to be holding an imaginary blade to the inside of his arm. His “longways” motion went from the bottom of his hand and down his forearm toward his elbow. . .

It’s hard to say what happened to the video, as it appears to have been taken down and re-uploaded numerous times.

As recently as Sunday, Hess noted on her Facebook page that she recorded a version of the clip “directly from YouTube Kids” that very afternoon. YouTube told WFTX the video violates its community guidelines, and a spokesperson said in part, “We work hard to ensure YouTube is not used to encourage dangerous behavior, and we have strict policies that prohibit videos which promote self-harm.” (Read more from “Watch Your Kids: Pediatrician Finds Wrist-Slitting Suicide Tip Spliced Into Video on YouTube Kids App” HERE)

Horrified Mom Discovers Suicide Instructions in Video on YouTube and YouTube Kids

By CBS News. Video promoting self-harm tips — spliced between clips of a popular video game — has surfaced at least twice on YouTube and YouTube Kids since July, according to a pediatrician and mom who discovered the video.

The suicide instructions are sandwiched between clips from the popular Nintendo game Splatoon and delivered by a man speaking in front of what appears to be a green screen — an apparent effort to have him blend in with the rest of the animated video. . .

The man featured is YouTuber Filthy Frank, who has over 6.2 million subscribers and calls himself “the embodiment of everything a person should not be,” although there is no evidence that Frank, whose real name is George Miller, was involved in creating the doctored video. He did not immediately respond to CBS News’ request for comment.

When Free Hess found the video on YouTube last week, she posted it on her blog — warning other parents to take control over what their kids may be watching. . . .

Hess said she spotted another version of the same video on YouTube Kids in July last year. She said she and many other parents from Facebook groups came together to report it, and the video was eventually taken down after one parent directly contacted an employee at Google. Google has not responded to CBS News’ inquiry about the steps that led to the video’s removal. Speaker Removes Democrat Involved in ‘N-Word’ Scandal From Leadership Post

By Daily Wire. Maryland Democrat House Speaker Michael Busch removed Democrat Delegate Mary Ann Lisanti from a leadership position she held on a subcommittee after she apologized for allegedly referring to a majority-black county as a “n****r district.”

“Lisanti, a Democrat from Harford County, told reporters she would issue a statement later in the day,” the Associated Press reported. “She apologized to the House Democratic Caucus Tuesday morning, after apologizing to leaders of the state’s Legislative Black Caucus on Monday.”

In a statement, Lisanti said: “I am sickened that a word that is not in my vocabulary came out of my mouth. It does not represent my belief system, my life’s work or what is my heart.”

Lisanti also apologized to “the citizens of my district, people of Maryland, all of my colleagues in the Maryland General Assembly and everyone reading this for my word choice several weeks ago.”

“This morning, Delegate Mary Ann Lisanti apologized to the House Democratic Caucus for her use of the n-word. While I believe her apology was heartfelt, the damage among her colleagues and the public has been done,” Busch said in a statement, according to the Baltimore Sun. “I met with her this morning and expressed my extreme disappointment and concern over her irresponsible and hurtful actions.” (Read more from “Speaker Removes Democrat Involved in ‘N-Word’ Scandal From Leadership Post” HERE)

Maryland Delegate Loses Leadership Position Over Racial Slur

By NBC Miami. A white Maryland lawmaker lost her leadership position Tuesday after using a racial slur for black people at an after-hours gathering at a cigar store in the state capital.

Del. Mary Ann Lisanti, a 51-year-old Democrat in her second term representing Harford County northeast of Baltimore, apologized to the Maryland House Democratic Caucus on Tuesday. A day earlier she issued an apology to leaders of the state’s Legislative Black Caucus.

Del. Darryl Barnes, the caucus chairman, described the apology as “woefully inadequate” and urged House Speaker Michael Busch, in a letter, to discipline the delegate. . .

The Washington Post was first to report Monday that Lisanti allegedly used the slur late last month during a gathering with fellow legislators to refer to Prince George’s County, which is majority black. Asked about it by the newspaper earlier this month, the Post reported that she said: “I don’t recall that … I don’t recall much of that evening.”

When asked by the Post whether she had ever used the slur, the newspaper reported that she said: “I’m sure I have … I’m sure everyone has used it.” (Read more from “Maryland Delegate Loses Leadership Position Over Racial Slur” HERE)

Transgender High School Athletes Spark Controversy, Debate in Connecticut

. . .Yearwood, a 17-year-old junior at Cromwell High School, is one of two transgender high school sprinters in Connecticut, transitioning to female.

She recently finished second in the 55-meter dash at the state open indoor track championships. The winner, Terry Miller of Bloomfield High, is also transgender and set a girls state indoor record of 6.95 seconds. Yearwood finished in 7.01 seconds and the third-place competitor, who is not transgender, finished in 7.23 seconds. . .

Critics say their gender identity amounts to an unfair advantage, expressing a familiar argument in a complex debate for transgender athletes as they break barriers across sports around the world from high school to the pros. . .

Connecticut is one of 17 states that allow transgender high school athletes to compete without restrictions, according to Transathlete.com, which tracks state policies in high school sports across the country. Seven states have restrictions that make it difficult for transgender athletes to compete while in school, like requiring athletes to compete under the gender on their birth certificate, or allowing them to participate only after going through sex-reassignment procedures or hormone therapies. . .

The Connecticut Association of Schools-Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference, which governs high school sports in Connecticut, says its policy follows a state anti-discrimination law that says students must be treated in school by the gender with which they identify. ‘EXECUTING BABIES’: Trump Unleashes on Democrats Voting Against Bill Preventing Newborns From Being Killed

President Donald Trump slammed Democrats on Monday evening for refusing to support legislation that would prevent innocent newborn babies from being killed if they were born alive after surviving an abortion.

“All but three Democrats voted against a procedural motion on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, denying it the necessary 60 votes to proceed,” The Mercury News reported. “The final vote count was 53 in favor and 44 opposed.”

“Senate Democrats just voted against legislation to prevent the killing of newborn infant children,” Trump tweeted. “The Democrat position on abortion is now so extreme that they don’t mind executing babies AFTER birth.”

“This will be remembered as one of the most shocking votes in the history of Congress,” Trump continued. “If there is one thing we should all agree on, it’s protecting the lives of innocent babies.”

The Mercury News added: “Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., has sought to put Democrats – and 2020 candidates in particular – on the record on the issue after recent comments made by Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam of Democrats. McConnell also plans to hold a vote in the coming weeks on the Green New Deal climate-change legislation as he has cast the Democrats as extreme.” (Read more from “‘EXECUTING BABIES’: Trump Unleashes on Democrats Voting Against Bill Preventing Newborns From Being Killed” HERE)

HATE CRIME HOAX? Trans Person Burned Down Own Home Due to LGBT Issues Not Getting Enough Attention

Michigan prosecutors charged 54-year-old Nikki Joly — a transgender person — for allegedly burning down their own home in 2017 in what investigators appear to believe was intended to be a fake hate crime. . .

While an official motive has not yet been established, The Detroit News noted that an investigative police report shed light on a possible motive:

Two people who worked with Joly at St. Johns United Church of Christ, where the Jackson Pride Center was located, said he had been frustrated the controversy over gay rights had died down with the passage of the nondiscrimination law, according to the report.

The church officials, Barbara Shelton and Bobby James, when asked by police about a possible motive for the fire, said Joly was disappointed the Jackson Pride Parade and Festival, held five days before the blaze, hadn’t received more attention or protests.

Elmer Hitt, Jackson’s director of police and fire services, said on Monday that members of the community perceived the blaze to be a hate crime, but after a year of investigating the crime, prosecutors “ended up issuing charges” for first-degree arson on Joly. 13 States Plus D.C. Where a Teenage Girl Can’t See an R-Rated Movie About Abortion — but Can Get One by Herself

There are actually places in the U.S. where teenagers not old enough to see an R-rated pro-life movie by themselves can get abortions without parental involvement.

Pro-lifers have been pushing back against the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) since it gave a surprise R rating to the upcoming film “Unplanned” last week. The movie’s story focuses on Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood clinic director who became pro-life after being confronted with the truth while assisting with an ultrasound-guided abortion. The MPAA cited “some disturbing/bloody images” as the reason for the restrictive rating.

The R rating means that children under the age of 17 across America will not be able to see the movie in their local theater by themselves. But according to Planned Parenthood’s own website, there are 13 states (and one district) where a teenage girl could get an abortion by herself after being turned away at the box office:

Alaska

California

Connecticut

The District of Columbia

Hawaii

Maine

Nevada

New Jersey

New Mexico

New York (where a girl could now also get an abortion right up till birth)

Oregon

Vermont

Washington

Of course, abortion is a gruesome, violent act. In this video (warning: Disturbing content may be unsuitable for some audiences), a former abortionist describes (with diagrams and illustrations) a second-trimester surgical abortion. A movie that discusses the taking of an innocent child’s life in utero (especially through a graphic, ultrasound-guided procedure) isn’t exactly something you’d take younger kids to see.

But if a staged abortion is too violent and “disturbing” for a teenager to see by herself, then why in the world would our laws let her get the real thing without talking to their parents first? That’s the brave new world of “reproductive freedom” for you. (For more from the author of “13 States Plus D.C. Where a Teenage Girl Can’t See an R-Rated Movie About Abortion — but Can Get One by Herself” please click HERE)
