Now GLAAD Wants 10 Percent of Characters on TV to Be Gay

When will GLAAD ever be satisfied? Following a report showing that broadcast TV has a record number of LGBT characters, the formerly named Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is still saying Hollywood needs to do better.

Though the study released on Thursday showed that 8.8% of characters on TV are LGBT, a full 4 points above the 4.5% of LGBT individuals in the U.S. population, GLAAD demands that Hollywood up that number to as high as 10% by 2020.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, GLAAD president Sarah Kate Ellis met with several industry insiders to discuss ways for networks to further increase LGBT representation on screen even though numbers show they are, in fact, quite overrepresented.

The event, held at United Talent Agency’s headquarters in Beverly Hills, featured people like Greg Berlanti (executive producer on “Arrow” and “The Flash”) and even the senior VP product leadership at Nielsen, Brian Fuhrer, who announced the company’s plan to partner with GLAAD to “expand Nielsen’s national survey to include same-gender couples.” . . .

GLAAD president Sarah Kate Ellis said that the partnership with Nielsen happened during the Trump administration because the 2020 census did not count LGBTQ households. “Since this current administration has taken power over, they’ve since erased us from the 2020 census, so we’ve had to build these workarounds,” Ellis said. Leading Pro-Abortion Activist Converts to Islam

Leading pro-abortion activist Sinead O’Connor has renounced Catholicism, converted to Islam and taken a new name.

“This is to announce that I am proud to have become a Muslim,” 51-year-old singer tweeted last week. “This is the natural conclusion of any intelligent theologian’s journey. All scripture study leads to Islam. Which makes all other scriptures redundant. . .

O’Connor was previously ordained as a Catholic priest by the Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church in the 1990s. In a Tuesday tweet, she shared a photo of herself dressed in the Muslim garb. . .

. . .

Last year, O’Connor underwent mental health treatment after speaking to Dr. Phil about her emotional struggles following suicide attempts.

“What kicked all of this off really was, I had a radical hysterectomy in Ireland two years ago and I lost my mind after that,” O’Connor shared. “And that’s what I think happened with my family, and we have to give my family credit. They’re not here to speak for themselves so I don’t want to disrespect them, but the fact is, they didn’t know who the hell I was.” (Read more from “Leading Pro-Abortion Activist Converts to Islam” HERE)

Satan-Worshiping Girls Planned to Kill Classmates, Drink Their Blood

Police say two middle school girls, who worship Satan, armed themselves with knives in a foiled plot to violently kill classmates and drink their blood at school on Tuesday.

The 6th and 7th-grade girls attend Bartow Middle School, police say. At 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Bartow Police School Resource Officer assigned to the school was summoned to the principal’s office in reference to an armed juvenile complaint. . .

According to the Bartow Police Department, a student warned a teacher on Monday about one of the girl’s mentioning that “something bad” would happen in building 500 of the middle school. The superintendent said extra officers were at the school on Tuesday as a result of this warning. After one of the girl’s mother received a robo-call alerting her that her child was not in second period, she called the school to inform teachers that the child should be there.

Bartow Middle School staff immediately began to search the campus. They found the two girls in a bathroom. The girls were holding a goblet which an administrator suspected was being used to drink alcohol.

Once in the principal’s office, the girls were told to empty their pockets, which revealed a knife and knife sharpener. After that, their bags were searched, and several weapons including a pizza cutter and butcher knife were found on the girls. The two admitted to planning to kill students as they entered the bathroom. (Read more from “Satan-Worshiping Girls Planned to Kill Classmates, Drink Their Blood” HERE)

Is Chick-Fil-A or Starbucks More Popular?

The smear campaign against Chick-fil-A has been a colossal failure, as demonstrated by its continued financial success. A recent poll provides more evidence of just how much the campaign against the food chain has failed: It’s doing surprisingly well with an unexpected demographic, teenagers.

According to the latest Taking Stock With Teens survey from Piper Jaffray, Chick-fil-A has actually surpassed Starbucks in popularity among middle-class and upper-income teens.

Restaurant Business Online notes that the spike contrasts with a 2010 study showing Chick-fil-A was barely in the Top 5 in the demographic. Just last year, the company enjoyed a full 14.2% total sales growth.

The survey canvassed 8,600 teens at an “average age of 16, 36% of whom are employed part-time,” with roughly three-quarters reporting an “average household income of $56,000.” Roughly 2,400 teens reported an average household income of $102,000.

The overtly progressive Starbucks has long enjoyed being one of the top-rated restaurant brands among teenagers. In 2011, the coffee chain even surpassed McDonald’s in popularity for that demographic. How could Starbucks be losing transaction growth in the U.S. while Chick-fil-A overtakes it? PETA: If You Drink Milk, You Support Racism, or Something

At first, I thought this was a parody. It had to be. Everything has become a political battlefield. From television shows, food, clothes, and even hairstyles, the liberal, politically correct are policing things they find problematic. And now we’re dredging this nonsense from the grave: milk is racist. And take a wild guess on who’s pushing this trash. Yeah, it’s People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). They’re unspooled. So, how is milk racist or used as a supposed symbol of white supremacy? White people have an enzyme or something. The New York Times got in on this drivel, and spent way too much time on it:

“Studying human genetic diversity is easier in a society where diversity is clearly valued and celebrated — right now, that is very much on my mind,” said John Novembre, a University of Chicago evolutionary biologist who has taken to concluding his visiting seminars by illustrating how one of the field’s textbook examples of natural selection has been adopted for illiberal ends.

One slide Dr. Novembre has folded into his recent talks depicts a group of white nationalists chugging milk at a 2017 gathering to draw attention to a genetic trait known to be more common in white people than others — the ability to digest lactose as adults. It also shows a social media post from an account called “Enter The Milk Zone” with a map lifted from a scientific journal article on the trait’s evolutionary history.

FDA Investigating Mail-Order Abortion Pill Company as Access Grows

This week, news outlets like The Daily Beast and Vox reported that an abortion pill ordering service called Aid Access is being investigated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Aid Access is a six-month-old online company started by a Dutch physician named Rebecca Gomperts. They “support women who are not able to access local services” by allowing them to do an online consultation and, if they qualify, receive abortion pills in the mail, provided their pregnancy is at about 9 weeks or younger.

The startup’s site is full of typical jargon: “For many women, girls and trans men it is very difficult to access abortion care because of the cost of abortion, mandatory 24-72 hour waiting periods, the requirement of parental consent for minors, or the fact that clinics have been forced to close completely…Aid Access supports women who cannot otherwise access an abortion and protects their human rights.” . . .

Pill-induced (also called medical) abortions are increasingly sought after, especially in states where the nearest abortion clinic is difficult to get to. They can be obtained up to about 10 weeks’ gestation using a two-drug combination of mifepristone and misoprostol that’s widely deemed safe if administered correctly to women experiencing normal pregnancies (although the two-drug combo can be quite dangerous, for example, to women with ectopic pregnancies, and online services like Aid Access do not require physician supervision for administering the meds).

Online pill abortion delivery services are legally suspect in the United States, so Aid Access obtains their pills from pharmacies in India. Thus far, the FDA has not found significant issues with adulteration of the pills. Still, the agency is concerned about the group’s sourcing of their drugs, since mifepristone has been linked to 22 deaths to date. It’s unclear how these deaths occurred and why people aren’t more alarmed by them. (Read more from “FDA Investigating Mail-Order Abortion Pill Company as Access Grows” HERE)

‘Gosnell’ Movie Turns People Pro-Life

The theaters may be dropping “Gosnell” but that doesn’t mean the movie is not fulfilling its mission of teaching people the horrors of abortion. Now, a college student who once considered herself pro-choice claims to have been changed by the film.

University of Central Florida student Kathy Zhu garnered herself a big social media following in 2016 when she publicly announced herself a Trump supporter after researching his positions on national security. She initially supported Hillary Clinton’s bid for president but switched sides after questioning her liberal leanings.

. . .

One user also announced that they too had been changed by the Gosnell story regarding abortion. “I was pro-choice but when I first heard about the Gosnell trial and grand jury report in 2011-12 I completely became pro-life,” they said.

On its second weekend of theatrical release, “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” continued to enjoy solid per-theater performance despite reports of it being suspiciously dropped from high-performing theaters after opening weekend.

According to Box Office Mojo, “Gosnell” took in $841,746 during its second week, capping out at $2,004,734 from just 480 theaters. With a production budget of $2.4 million, thanks to a wildly successful crowdfunding campaign, “Gosnell” has managed to earn back about half of its budget, not factoring in marketing costs. Here’s How Many Millennials Are ‘Suffering From PTSD’ Because of 2016 Election

A new psychological study from San Francisco State University claims that a full quarter of millennials are suffering from bouts of post traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, because of the 2016 elections.

The study is by no means comprehensive — the research pool was limited to 769 students studying psychology at Arizona State University — but of those millennials chosen for the test, 25% reported experiencing “clinically significant” levels of stress, along with other symptoms of PTSD.

Students were evaluated using an “Impact of Event” scale, which measures stress levels at various times following a major traumatic event, typically a tragedy or a personal illness or injury. The results, the Washington Examiner reports, “indicated that students’ average stress score was similar to those of witnesses of a mass shooting seven months after the incident.”

“The scale is used to gauge the extent to which individuals have been impacted by an event in such a way that it might lead to diagnosable post-traumatic stress disorder,” lead researcher, Melissa Hagan said in a statement released alongside the study.

“What we were interested in seeing was, did the election for some people constitute a traumatic experience?” Hagan added. “And we found that it did for 25 percent of young adults.” (Read more from “Here’s How Many Millennials Are ‘Suffering From PTSD’ Because of 2016 Election” HERE)

Mom’s Actions Help Stop a Potential Mass Killing in Kentucky

By The Blaze. Police have credited a New Jersey mother with helping to thwart a man’s plans to carry out a mass killing hundreds of miles away in Kentucky.

According to a report Monday by WTXF-TV, Koeberle Bull of Lumberton, New Jersey, recently received a Facebook message from a man she didn’t know. . .

Bull took a look at the message’s contents and was shocked to discover crude, harassing language toward her and her children.

She said that she checked out the man’s profile and discovered his name was Dylan Jarrell. Jarrell claimed to hail from Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, some 650 miles away from Bull’s New Jersey home, and featured a photo of Jarrell posing with a weapon. . .

The Kentucky State Police took Bull’s complaint seriously and approached Jarrell, 21, for questioning as he was pulling out of his driveway. (Read more from “Mom’s Actions Help Stop a Potential Mass Killing in Kentucky” HERE)

Police: New Jersey Mom Stops Potential School Shooting in Kentucky

By Fox 29. Police say a 21-year-old man was minutes away from carrying out a school shooting in Lexington, Kentucky, when federal agents arrested him. They say if it were not for a mother hundreds of miles away in New Jersey, we might be broadcasting the nation’s next mass shooting. . .

Officials also believe Jarrel was planning to carry out an attack on a local school before the FBI made an arrest. Inside his home, police found a gun, 200 rounds of ammo, a Kevlar vest and a detailed plan of attack.

“I can tell you he was caught backing out of this driveway,” Kentucky State Police Commissioner Richard Sanders told FOX 29.

On Monday, Jarrell pleaded not guilty to making terroristic threats. Meanwhile, 650 miles away, a New Jersey mother is being hailed as a hero. (Read more from “Police: New Jersey Mom Stops Potential School Shooting in Kentucky” HERE)

Huh: Man Groped a Woman on an Airplane…And Then Blamed Trump?

A man was arrested after allegedly groping a woman on a flight from Houston, Texas to Albuquerque, New Mexico. The most interesting tidbit? The man told authorities “the president of the United States says it’s OK to grab women by their private parts,” KTRK-TV reported.

Bruce Michael Alexander, 49, was seated in a window seat on a Southwest Airlines flight. The woman who sat in front of him told authorities she fell asleep and woke up 15 minutes later when she “felt her clothes move and a touching of fingers on her right side” near her breast, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

According to court documents, as he was being placed under arrest, Alexander told authorities that “the president of the United States says it’s OK to grab women by their private parts.”

He’s been charged with abusive sexual contact and remains in custody until a preliminary hearing takes place. If convicted, Alexander faces up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine. . .

At what point do we start holding people accountable for their actions? It’s ridiculous that people can blame President Trump for anything and everything. (Read more from “Huh: Man Groped a Woman on an Airplane…And Then Blamed Trump?” HERE)
