Alert: Twitter Purging Thousands of Accounts Posting Things They Don’t Agree With

Several right-wing Twitter users shared their concern this week over discovering their own profiles had been suspended or a sizable portion of their followers had apparently disappeared overnight.

As Gizmodo reported, accounts of the supposed purge began to appear Wednesday morning.

Conservative radio host Bill Mitchell responded to another user’s inquiry about the news by confirming thousands of his followers had seemingly vanished.

Controversial white nationalist Richard Spencer tweeted that he “lost close to 1,000 followers” in the span of a few hours.

The concern manifest itself in the form of a hashtag, #TwitterLockout, which gained traction on the platform throughout the day, according to Fox News.

One woman contacted Gizmodo to share her experience, claiming her account — @ThankUGOD4Trump — was locked on suspicion that it was being operated by a bot.

“They told me that my account ‘exhibited automated behavior’ and that I’d be sent a ‘verification code,’ which I’ve never received.”

She was reportedly able to regain access after following the steps prescribed by Twitter.

Another Trump supporter claimed she was caught up in the purge, too, though she began noticing her followers reappear “as they day goes on and they were able to confirm their accounts.”

Mitchell provided a similar update.

While Twitter did not announce its intention ahead of time or issue an immediate statement when complaints started pouring in Wednesday morning, the company did provide some details to Gizmodo later in the day.

The tools used to identify automated bots or other unauthorized behavior on the platform are “apolitical,” Twitter said, adding that the company enforces its rules “without political bias.”

The company shared a few characteristics its algorithms look for in flagging an account for possible misbehavior.

“As part of our ongoing work in safety, we identify suspicious account behaviors that indicate automated activity or violations of our policies around having multiple accounts, or abuse,” the statement read. “We also take action on any accounts we find that violate our terms of service, including asking account owners to confirm a phone number so we can confirm a human is behind it.”

It was those safeguards, Twitter said, that caused “suspensions or locks” on certain accounts.

Growing Body of Research Rejects Transgender Movement

Is Caitlyn Jenner a woman? A growing body of research from scientists, philosophers and feminists says no.

The latest contribution to the debate is “When Harry Became Sally,” a just-released book by Heritage Foundation senior research fellow Ryan T. Anderson, who critiques the transgender movement on the grounds of metaphysics, medicine and public policy.

Contrary to the transgender movement’s central claim — that “gender identity” determines whether someone is a man, a woman or something else — Mr. Anderson said the only rationale for determining an organism’s sex is “by that organism’s organization with respect to sexual reproduction.”

“Apart from that, all you have are sex stereotypes,” Mr. Anderson said Wednesday at a Heritage Foundation gathering. “There’s no other objective standard for identifying the sex of an individual.”

Human beings are a “sexually dimorphic species,” with complementary reproductive systems that are either male or female, Mr. Anderson said. One’s sex is evident in DNA, can be tracked in the womb and manifests itself “in many of our bodily systems and organs all the way down to the molecular level.” (Read more from “Growing Body of Research Rejects Transgender Movement” HERE)

Florida House Approves Bill to Post “In God We Trust” in All Public Schools

With the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High shooting still looming large, its students in the Capitol to lobby for gun controls, the Florida House overwhelmingly passed a measure Wednesday its sponsor said aimed at bringing “light” to the schools.

The bill (HB 839) would require all public schools to post the state motto, “In God We Trust,” in a “conspicuous place.”

Sponsor Rep. Kim Daniels, a Jacksonville Democrat who runs her own ministry, said Florida needed the legislation, given the goings on in the state.

“He is not a Republican or a Democrat. He is not black or white,” Daniels said. “He is the light, and our schools need light in them like never before.”

California Claims It Can’t ‘Promote Abortion’ Without Pro-Life Centers

California has filed a brief with the U.S. Supreme Court complaining that it cannot adequately promote abortion services without the help of a tiny number of pro-life pregnancy centers that mostly offer pregnancy tests, diapers and counseling.

The argument comes in a lawsuit against a state law, similar to others that have been struck down elsewhere, that requires the pro-life centers to provide contact information for state-funded abortion services to every woman who walks through their doors.

The state of California argues its abortion promotion is “a brief, non-ideological notice that readers will quickly identify as simply one of many government-mandated notices in the healthcare context.”

The pregnancy centers, however, insist that forcing them to promote abortionists violates their their deeply held religious beliefs.

Bill Graham on Heaven

With the passing of Billy Graham, the eulogies and reflections on the famed Christian evangelist who died today at 99 are of course pouring in – many of them memorable and affecting, like that of Alveda King, niece of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., who said:

“As a fledgling freelance journalist in the 20th century, I interviewed Dr. Graham who was in Atlanta to conduct a crusade. As he spoke, he admonished me to ‘pray without ceasing.’ As he spoke, his brilliant blue eyes were glowing with a heavenly brightness. As I naively asked how anyone could pray 24/7; he quietly responded in a reverberating voice: ‘I’m praying for you right now.’ This unforgettable experience changed my life forever.”

However, my own experience with Billy Graham is much more typical and impersonal – and yet likewise profound. As a kid growing up during the ’50s and ’60s I watched Billy Graham’s crusades on television with my parents and siblings, like the rest of America. I actually remember them pretty vividly – the passion of his preaching, his North Carolina accent, the altar calls, the particular music, and his closing admonition to “go to church next Sunday.” But in truth, I was much too caught up with my various ambitions and pursuits, my problems and selfishness – “the cares of this life” – to be penetrated very much by his message back then. It was only much later in life, after I’d suffered a lot and realized something very important was still missing from my life, that Billy Graham’s efforts truly hit “pay dirt” in me.

As the most heard evangelist in world history (an estimated 2.2 billion people), Billy Graham once explained the profound impact of his methods: “I have found that when I present the simple message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with authority and simplicity, quoting the Word of God, He takes that message and drives it supernaturally into the human heart.”

“I have one message,” Graham said at his final crusade in June 2005 in New York: “that Jesus Christ came, he died on a cross, he rose again, and he asked us to repent of our sins and receive him by faith as Lord and Savior, and if we do, we have forgiveness of all of our sins.” (Read more from “Bill Graham on Heaven” HERE)

Harvard Attacked for Choosing White Male as Next University President

Harvard University had only just announced its next president before he came under attack — not for anything he did, but for who he is.

That is, in the eyes of his critics, at least, a “white male.”

The New York Times greeted the selection with a news article reporting in its second paragraph that, in selecting Lawrence Bacow earlier this month, the search committee had missed “an opportunity for Harvard to choose a leader who would reflect the #MeToo and Black Lives Matter movements.”

Harvard’s student newspaper, the Crimson, of which I was president 25 years ago, reported that the announcement, “surprised and disappointed some College students who had hoped a person of color would take the University’s top job.”

Mike Rowe’s Thoughts on the Florida Shooting Are the Best You Will Hear From Anyone

Mike Rowe shared his thoughts on the recent tragedy at Stoneman Douglas High School, and it will blow anything the establishment media has to say out of the water.

Rowe wrote on Facebook, “Evil is real. As long as humans have walked the earth, people have chosen to do evil things. This is what happened in Florida. A nineteen-year old man chose to do an evil thing. He planned it. He executed it. He succeeded.”

Rowe also said that while it’s important to find out the contributing causes of mass shooters, we shouldn’t absolve the killer of responsibility for his actions.

“Should we endeavor to know why? Absolutely. Should we discuss the impact of video games, accessible firearms, single-parents, no parents, powerful medications, social media, mental illness, bullying, or anything else we think might have encouraged him to choose evil over good? Without question.”

“But we should also stop confusing the influence of such things, with the root cause. Because nothing in this man’s past can possibly explain his decision to kill seventeen people,” Rowe added. Father of Florida School Shooting Victim Harassed on Twitter for ‘Trump 2020’ Shirt

The father of a Florida school shooting victim was lambasted on Twitter after he was photographed wearing a “Trump 2020” shirt while he searched for his daughter, whom he later found out had died in the bloodbath.

Andrew Pollack was first pictured last Wednesday as he frantically searched for his daughter, Meadow, hours after gunman Nikolas Cruz opened fire Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Pollack found out the next day that his 18-year-old daughter had died.

But when a photo of him wearing the “Trump 2020” shirt began circulating on Twitter, several people spewed hateful comments about the grieving father, with no show of remorse.

Other people said they felt “empathy” for Meadow Pollack dying, but turned on the father for voting for Trump. One user said Andrew Pollack should have “thought twice” before casting his vote during the 2016 election . . .

Despite the hateful comments, many users also expressed their condolences and condemned others for politicizing a woman’s death. Some said they were “heartbroken” by the loss and urged people on social media to support Pollack during the difficult time.

Parents Lose Custody of Child for Refusing to Support Transgenderism

On Friday, Ohio parents were denied custody of their daughter for not being supportive enough of her alleged transgenderism.

The 17-year-old biologically female child identifies as a boy and claims she has suicidal thoughts over her parents’ lack of support for her transgenderism (they won’t, for example, call her by her new chosen male name). The parents were fighting for custody of their daughter back from the state in an effort to stop potential transgender hormone treatment.

An attorney representing the parents, whose names have not been disclosed because of privacy concerns, argued that the girl was not “even close to being able to make such a life-altering decision at this time.” Representatives of the girl argued that a “medical team” claimed that the treatment was a matter of life and death.

Hamilton County Judge Sylvia Sieve Hendon granted custody to the girl’s maternal grandparents, who are open to transgender hormone therapy. The teenager has been living with them since 2016.

According to CNN, Hendon also granted the grandparents the option to petition to change the teen’s name to her new male name in probate court. The girl is now covered by their insurance. (Read more from “Parents Lose Custody of Child for Refusing to Support Transgenderism” HERE)

However, a study has discovered that the key to reaching past the age of 90 could all come down to drinking a couple of glasses of alcohol a night and putting on a few extra pounds.

Dr Claudia Kawas, a specialist in neurology from the University of California, spoke at the American Association for the Advancement of Science annual conference in Austin, Texas about research that she has carried out for the past 15 years.

She and her team began The 90+ Study in 2003 in order to investigate the reasons why some people reach the age of 90 and beyond and others don’t . . .
