NY Court: Farmers to Be Re-Educated, Pay Fines for Not Hosting Homosexual Wedding

A couple who hosts occasional wedding ceremonies on their New York farm have lost an appeal to overturn the $13,000 in fines levied against them by the state’s human rights agency, which ruled that their refusal to host a wedding for two women was discriminatory.

On Jan. 14, the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department, upheld the agency’s order and the fines, a decision the Alliance Defending Freedom – which represented Robert and Cynthia Gifford – said amounted to confirming, “that the government can punish the Giffords for declining to coordinate a ceremony that conflicts with their conscience.”

The couple lives in a barn they built on their farm and have occasionally hosted weddings on the first floor and the surrounding backyard area, according to ADF.

“After the agency ruled that the Giffords were guilty of ‘sexual orientation discrimination,’ it fined them $10,000, plus $3,000 in damages and ordered them to implement re-education training classes designed to contradict the couple’s religious beliefs about marriage,” a press release issued following the court decision stated.

Watch: Clint Eastwood Destroys ‘All-White’ Oscars Protesters With 1 Perfect Sentence

Leave it to famed Hollywood tough guy Clint Eastwood to give some common sense to those in Hollywood who accuse the Oscars of being “too white.”

The cameras from the Hollywood gossip site TMZ discovered the famed actor and director exiting an establishment in Tinsel Town and threw out the question about the Oscar controversy.

The five-time Oscar winner and eleven-time nominee had a bit of advice for the folks all upset over the nominations this year. He was certainly soft spoken and even tempered about it all, but his answer did have a bit of a bite to it.

“All I know is,” the Dirty Harry star said, “there are thousands of people in the Academy and a lot of them–the majority of them–haven’t won Oscars.”

He admitted he wasn’t paying too much attention to those upset over the annual movie awards adding, “a lot of people are crying, I guess” . . .

Actress Stacey Dash Goes off on BET Over Their Criticism of Her Answer to Oscar’s Boycott

By Mark Judge. Actress Stacey Dash is responding to Black Entertainment Television, which criticized Dash for comments she recently made about the Academy Awards.

After several media outlets and celebrities criticized the 2016 Oscars nominees for being overwhelmingly white, Dash went on Fox & Friends. “I think it’s ludicrous,” Dash, 49, said. “We have to make up our minds. Either we want to have segregation or integration. If we don’t want segregation, then we need to get rid of channels like BET (Black Entertainment Television) and the BET Awards and the [NAACP] Image Awards, where you’re only awarded if you’re black.”

After Dash made her comments, Black Entertainment Television posted a photo on Instagram of the actress appearing in the BET show “The Game” . . .

How BET Lies to Black People

By Stacey Dash. Ever since I said THIS on Fox yesterday, Black Entertainment Television has been throwing shade.

They reminded me — and the rest of America — that I appeared on a show called The Game, which appeared on BET.

I’m thankful for all of the acting jobs I’ve had. But I look forward to the day when people don’t self-segregate based on skin color, while loudly complaining about a segregated society.

That might be hard for the people at BET to understand, especially after I read this quote from a BET exec about the Oscars:

“It would be great if the Oscar nominees represented even closely the percentage of moviegoers who are of different ethnicities, but they don’t,” said Stephen Hill . . .

Olympics Are Now Allowing Transgender ‘Women’ to Compete

There’s great news for adventurous male Olympic hopefuls: if they declare themselves women and reduce their testosterone below 10 nmol/L for at least 12 months prior to competition, they can compete against ladies.

There’s even better news for these men; according to transgender guidelines approved by the International Olympic Committee, genitalia does not serve as a prerequisite. The guidelines state: “To require surgical anatomical changes as a pre-condition to participation is not necessary to preserve fair competition and may be inconsistent with developing legislation and notions of human rights.”

The IOC held a “Consensus Meeting on Sex Reassignment and Hyperandrogenism” in November at which they created the new guidelines, loosening prior rules adopted in 2004 to allow transgender athletes into the Games. The previous rules required that transgender athletes must have undergone external genitalia changes and removal of gonads, as well as obtaining legal recognition of their assigned sex from appropriate official authorities.

The new guidelines attempt to justify themselves by citing various societies’ acceptance of fluid gender identity, writing, “Since the 2003 Stockholm Consensus on Sex Reassignment in Sports, there has been a growing recognition of the importance of autonomy of gender identity in society, as reflected in the laws of many jurisdictions worldwide.” (Read more from “Olympics Are Now Allowing Transgender Women to Compete” HERE)

Seriously? Man Gets Back Together With Wife Who Abandoned Son With Down’s Syndrome, Brands Her an ‘Amazing Mother’

A year ago Samuel Forrest hit the headlines when his wife made him choose between her or their Down’s syndrome baby.

If he gave their newborn son Leo away, Ruzan told him, she would stay with him. If not she would file for divorce.

The brave dad chose little Leo – who was born in Ruzan’s native Armenia – and the couple split.

But a year on Samuel has revealed they have called off the divorce and has praised her as a “wonderful mother,”

Texas Student Suspended After Carrying Classmate Having Asthma Attack to Nurse

A Killeen mother is defending her son who was suspended after helping a fellow student having an asthma attack.

Anthony Ruelas, 15, said his eighth grade classmate was wheezing and gagging for three minutes Tuesday morning while no one did anything. But when Ruelas did do something, he apparently broke the rules.

“He may not follow instructions all the time, but he does have a great heart,” said Mandy Cortes, Ruelas’ mother.

Ruelas goes to Gateway Middle School, an alternative school in the Killeen Independent School District. Ruelas has been suspended before, but Tuesday was different.

“I wasn’t trying to hear it,” said Cortez. When she picked her son up from school for the suspension she told him,”No, they already told me what happened you walked out of class, and he was like ‘ok forget it’, but I can tell, ya know you know your kids, I could tell he was upset.” (Read more from “Texas Student Suspended After Carrying Classmate Having Asthma Attack to Nurse” HERE)

Supreme Court Rejects Heartbeat Bill Appeal

The Supreme Court will not hear an appeal that would reinstate an Arkansas law prohibiting abortion if an unborn child has a heartbeat.

The Human Heartbeat Protection Act barred abortionists from aborting a baby after 12 weeks if “the fetus that a pregnant woman is carrying possesses a detectible heartbeat.”

U.S. District Judge Susan Webber Wright, who presided over Paula Jones’ sexual harassment lawsuit against Bill Clinton, struck down the Arkansas Human Heartbeat Protection Act in March 2014, ruling that it “impermissibly infringes a woman’s Fourteenth Amendment right to elect to terminate a pregnancy.” Her ruling was upheld by the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, based in St. Louis, last May . . .

The ACLU and the Center for Reproductive Rights, which brought the lawsuit, was overjoyed that the lower court rulings will stand.

“Arkansas politicians cannot pick and choose which parts of the Constitution they want to uphold,” said Nancy Northup, president and CEO of the Center for Reproductive Rights. “The Supreme Court has never wavered in affirming that every woman has a right to safely and legally end a pregnancy in the U.S — and this extreme abortion ban was a direct affront to that right.” (Read more from “Supreme Court Rejects Heartbeat Bill Appeal” HERE)

Franklin Graham Issues a Huge Warning to Christians – You Need to Read This

Last year, Franklin Graham joined James Dobson at an event in Colorado where the two warned against allowing gay people into churches because, according to Graham, they are representatives of “the Enemy” who wants to “devour our homes” and “devour this nation.”

On his radio program today, Dobson played excerpts from his discussion with Graham at the event, in which called for Christians to keep their kids away from gay people and to take over school boards across the nation in order to remove gay-friendly programs.

“We have allowed the Enemy to come into our churches,” Graham said. “I was talking to some Christians and they were talking about how they invited these gay children to come into their home and to come into the church and that they were wanting to influence them. And I thought to myself, they’re not going to influence those kids; those kids are going to influence those parent’s children.”

“What happens is we think we can fight by smiling and being real nice and loving,” he continued. “We have to understand who the Enemy is and what he wants to do. He wants to devour our homes. He wants to devour this nation and we have to be so careful who we let our kids hang out with. We have to be so careful who we let into the churches. Carson Staffer Dies in Tragic Iowa Car Accident

A 25-year-old staffer for Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson died Tuesday in a car accident that also injured three campaign volunteers. Carson suspended his campaign for the remainder of the day and planned to travel to Omaha where Braden Joplin was being treated at Nebraska Medical Center’s trauma center.

The campaign confirmed Tuesday evening that Joplin died as the result of his injuries.

“Braden Joplin died following an auto accident on slick roads near Atlantic, Iowa,” the campaign said in a statement. “Three other passengers in the van were treated and released from a hospital in Atlantic, but Joplin’s injuries were severe, and he was brought to Nebraska Medical Center’s trauma center in critical condition for treatment.”

Carson released a statement Monday night saying it was a privilege to know Joplin.

“One of the precious few joys of campaigning is the privilege of meeting bright young men and women who are so enthusiastic about their country that they will freely give of their time and energy to work on its behalf. America lost one of those bright young men today,” Carson said. “I had the privilege of knowing Braden Joplin personally, and am filled with a deep and profound sadness at his passing.” (Read more from “Carson Staffer Dies in Tragic Iowa Car Accident” HERE)

John McCain Shamefully Says He Would Vote for Planned Parenthood Funding

The Republican Party in the largest county in Arizona will not endorse John McCain, in part because he said he would be willing to vote to fund Planned Parenthood.

The Maricopa County Republican Party endorsed “anybody but McCain” on Saturday by a vote of 921-to-582.

County Chairman Tyler Bowler said “many activists” expressed their view that “Senator McCain’s recent vote to increase the national debt to more than $20 trillion, while fully funding Planned Parenthood, was a clear message that he is more inclined to choose President Obama and Harry Reid over the will of the Arizona voters in order to retain his D.C. Establishment power.” McCain has voted to raise the debt ceiling about half of the times the option has come before the Senate . . .

McCain’s mixed, moderate record is increasingly out-of-step in the socially conservative Arizona GOP.

After the Center for Medical Progress released undercover footage showing national figures in the abortion industry haggling over the prices of aborted babies’ body parts, Sen. McCain became an original co-sponsor of a bill to defund Planned Parenthood. “The appalling footage that has been released over the last several weeks has made it abundantly clear that taxpayers should not be forced to pay for such disturbing activities,” he said last July. “It is long past time we stop sending American tax dollars to this scandal-plagued group and start doing more to protect the health and well-being of women, mothers, and their families.” (Read more from “John McCain Shamefully Says He Would Vote for Planned Parenthood Funding” HERE)
