Jab or Job: Supreme Court Refuses to Block Vaccine Mandate for Health Workers

The U.S. Supreme Court declined to block a vaccine mandate for health workers in the state of Maine on Tuesday, sending a potential green light to state mandates across the country.

Justice Stephen Breyer, who handles emergency requests from Maine for the court, was responsible for the denial, which he said came “without prejudice.” The challenge came from a group of Maine health workers who argued Democratic Maine Gov. Janet Mills’ vaccine mandate was illegal. With the SCOTUS denial, the mandate for employees at hospitals and nursing homes will take effect next week, according to The Hill.

Many states have become battlegrounds over enforcement of vaccine mandates in recent months, with courts in Florida, New York and elsewhere blocking various efforts to impose mandates.

During a Tuesday episode of NPR’s “All Things Considered”, Patty Wight, a reporter with Maine Public Radio, said ambulance crews across the state face staffing crises, as some paramedics and EMTs are quitting over the mandate. US Marshals To Investigate Alleged Mistreatment of Jan. 6 Protesters

. . .A week ago, a federal judge raised questions about the treatment of those Jan. 6 inmates at the jail after revelations one of the defendants had a broken hand that was allegedly improperly cared for.

The judge also formally found the jail warden and the director of the D.C. Department of Corrections in contempt of court for not responding to court questions about the medical care of Jan. 6 inmates.

The judge says he’s referring the matter to the U.S. attorney general for a possible civil rights violation investigation. . .

D.C. Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Chris Geldart confirmed Monday the inspectors are speaking with Jan. 6 defendants and said all court orders are being followed.

“We have been working with the marshals office,” he said. “As a matter of fact, they’re in there today doing an inspection of the jail and talking with many of the Jan. 6 folks that are there to make sure that we are continuing to do that.” (Read more from “US Marshals To Investigate Alleged Mistreatment of Jan. 6 Protesters” HERE)

President Biden’s Approval Rating Plummets Even Further

President Joe Biden’s approval rating continues to fall, with 37 percent of Americans approving the job he is doing, according to a Quinnipiac poll released on Tuesday.

While only 37 percent of Americans approve of Biden’s job performance, 52 percent disapprove. The numbers are similar when asked about their opinion of the presi

Only 38 percent of Americans report a favorable opinion of Biden, whereas 50 percent have an unfavorable opinion.

Biden’s approval numbers have drastically declined since his botched Afghanistan pullout at the end of August. The last time Biden’s approval rating was positive was in the days leading up to the August 31 Afghanistan withdrawal. Federal vaccine mandates and a looming supply chain crisis have likely contributed to Biden’s declining numbers.

Trump on Colin Powell: Made Big Mistakes, Anyway May He Rest in Peace

Former President Donald Trump commented on Colin Powell after the former Secretary of State’s death was announced Monday.

“Wonderful to see Colin Powell, who made big mistakes on Iraq and famously, so-called weapons of mass destruction, be treated in death so beautifully by the Fake News Media,” the former president said in a press release about Powell on Tuesday morning. “Hope that happens to me someday,” he continued.

“He was a classic RINO, if even that, always being the first to attack other Republicans.” (Read more from “Trump on Colin Powell: Made Big Mistakes, Anyway May He Rest in Peace” HERE)

President Biden’s Botched Afghanistan Pullout To Be Investigated

By Breitbart. Diana Shaw, acting inspector general for the State Department, has launched a series of investigations into President Joe Biden’s botched Afghanistan withdrawal. . .

An action memorandum sent to Secretary of State Antony Blinken on October 15 indicated that the probe will focus on:

State Department’s Special Immigrant Visa program; Afghans processed for refugee admission into the U.S.; resettlement of those refugees and visa recipients; and the emergency evacuation of the U.S. Embassy in Kabul ‘to include evacuation of U.S. citizens and Afghan nationals.’

In a letter sent on Monday, Shaw notified leaders of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and House Foreign Affairs Committee of the investigation, describing them as “several oversight projects.”

“Given the elevated interest in this work by Congress and the unique circumstances requiring coordination across the Inspector General community, I wanted to notify our committees of jurisdiction of this important work,” Shaw wrote. State Watchdog to Launch Review of Biden’s Afghanistan Withdrawal

By The Hill. The acting inspector general of the State Department is launching a number of inquiries into the Biden administration’s handling of the U.S.’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, according to a notification sent to Congress and obtained by The Hill.

State Department acting Inspector General Diana Shaw on Monday notified the chairs and ranking members of relevant committees in the House and Senate that the investigative body would be launching “several oversight projects related to the suspension of operations at U.S. Embassy Kabul, Afghanistan.” . . .

Shaw will focus on four areas of inquiry, including a review of the Afghan Special Immigrant Visa Program; the process for refugee admission in the U.S.; resettlement of Afghan refugees and visa recipients; and Embassy Kabul’s emergency action planning and execution, including the evacuation of U.S. citizens and Afghan nationals.

The Biden administration’s end of operations in Afghanistan was thrown into chaos with the fall of the Western-backed government in Kabul on Aug. 15 to a lightening takeover of the country by the Taliban, the fundamentalist Islamist group that had battled U.S. forces over 20 years of engagement in Afghanistan.

Both Democrats and Republicans have criticized the administration’s handling of the U.S. exit from Afghanistan, questioning how two decades of financial and physical investment failed to stand up the Afghan government and armed forces in the face of the insurgent Taliban. Let’s Go Brandon: Anti-Biden Rap Song Soars to #2 on Itunes

The anti-Biden rap song “Let’s Go Brandon” is the second best-selling single on iTunes’s charts.

The song, performed by rapper Loza Alexander, sits just behind Adele’s “Easy On Me” and is the number-one song on iTunes’s hip-hop charts. The title of the track, which went viral on TikTok, is a reference to a televised interview earlier this month between NASCAR driver Brandon Brown and NBC Sports reporter Kelli Stavast. During the interview, NASCAR fans can be heard chanting, “F— Joe Biden.” Stavast, in an apparent attempt at damage control, said the fans were cheering, “Let’s go Brandon!” . . .

In the song, Alexander references the viral interview clip, saying, “Tried to cover up, but tell the people, ‘Go Brandon.’ But we know what they saying, though. You can hear thе chant in every post.” The artist also takes aim at the president, rapping, “Don’t nobody want this commie ‘causе we not in China.” (Read more from “Let’s Go Brandon: Anti-Biden Rap Song Soars to #2 on Itunes” HERE)

Do as I Say, Not as I Do: Biden Enjoys Maskless Date Night

The White House tried to downplay photos of President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden maskless in an upscale Washington, D.C., restaurant, contravening the capital’s indoor mandate.

The Bidens had their masks in hand as they left Italian seafood restaurant Fiola Mare last Saturday, according to Jen Psaki.

“There are moments when we all don’t put masks back on as quickly as we should,” she told reporters Monday. “But I don’t think we should lose the forest through the trees here.” . . .

The first couple was photographed without masks indoors and outdoors as they left the restaurant, which boasts a $40 tortelloni bolognese dish on the menu.(Read more from “Do as I Say, Not as I Do: Biden Enjoys Maskless Date Night” HERE)

High Inflation Expected To Last Well Into 2022

High inflation will last well into 2022, economists say, indicating that supply chain bottlenecks will keep increasing prices and curbing production.

Experts expect to see average inflation of 5.25% in December, slightly down from the current maximum predicted 5.4% figure, according to The Wall Street Journal. If inflation stays around its current level, Americans will experience the longest period during which inflation has stayed above 5% since 1991.

“It’s a perfect storm: supply-chain bottlenecks, tight labor markets, ultra-easy monetary and fiscal policies,” Michael Moran, Daiwa Capital Markets America’s chief economist, told the WSJ.

Economists believe that consumer price inflation will drop to 3.4% by June 2022 and 2.6% by the end of 2022, according to the WSJ. These figures remain 1.8% above the inflation level seen before the COVID-19 pandemic. (Read more from “High Inflation Expected To Last Well Into 2022” HERE)

Former Military Officer Makes Scary UFO Claim

Former Air Force Captain Robert Salas allegedly had a wild experience with UFOs.

In an interview with The Sun, Salas claimed to have been overseeing 10 nuclear missiles at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana when a UFO took them offline in 1967.

Salas recently told The Sun the following in part about the alleged incident:

I was in charge of ten nuclear missiles at the time when a UFO came over and hovered over our facility and while it was hovering there it was seen by all our guards. I was underground 60ft, locked into a concrete capsule. It was reported to me directly by those guards. While the object was up there we lost all ten missiles due to guidance and control failure…This object, whatever it was, would have had to send a signal to each missile separately and disable the guidance system.

GOP Rep. Issues Dire Warning: ‘We Will Lose the New Cold War With Communist China Within the Decade’

After a bombshell Financial Times report that China tested a nuclear-capable hypersonic missile in August which circled the planet before zoning in on its target, Republican Representative Mike Gallagher — a member of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee — said that this news should serve as a “call to action.”

“This test should serve as a call to action. If we stick to our current complacent course — or place our hopes in bankrupt buzzwords like “integrated deterrence” — we will lose the New Cold War with Communist China within the decade,” Rep. Gallagher said in a statement. “The People’s Liberation Army now has an increasingly credible capability to undermine our missile defenses and threaten the American homeland with both conventional and nuclear strikes. Even more disturbing is the fact that American technology has contributed to the PLA’s hypersonic missile program.”

“We know from a recent Washington Post report that Phytium uses US-derived technology to power a military supercomputer that models hypersonic flight. While the Biden administration rightly placed Phytium on the Commerce Department’s Entity List, it has not applied the Foreign Direct Product Rule that was successfully used to counter Huawei. As a result, US-derived technology produced by TSMC still enables Phytium’s malign work. This needs to change,” Rep. Gallagher continued. “Phytium is just the beginning. The US government has long failed to apply maximum pressure against the Chinese Communist Party’s Military-Civil Fusion strategy. With our homeland now exposed, in part, by advanced technology derived from Military-Civil Fusion, we need to aggressively decouple from anything associated with Military-Civil Fusion. We must end joint ventures, investments, and research collaborations that involve areas associated with Military-Civil Fusion. We also need to stop the flow of Wall Street capital into Chinese tech.” (Read more from “GOP Rep. Issues Dire Warning: ‘We Will Lose the New Cold War With Communist China Within the Decade’” HERE)
