The China Connection: DOJ Freed Indicted Chinese Tech Exec Shining New Light on Hunter

While reading a New York Times story about the Justice Department plan to drop serious charges against a Chinese tech executive, I looked for the Hunter Biden angle. It wasn’t a long search.

After noting the 2018 arrest in Canada of Meng Wanzhou, the chief financial officer of Huawei Technologies, at the request of the Trump administration, the Times called the case a “symbol of the tumultuous relationship” between America and China.

Then came this: “The deal to release Ms. Meng could signal a more conciliatory approach in Washington’s stance toward Beijing under the Biden administration.”

It might be a conciliatory move, but it might also reflect a corrupted president. That’s where Hunter Biden comes in, and he doesn’t come alone.

He brings with him lots of baggage and the whole Biden family, including President Joe, aka “the big guy.” (Read more from “The China Connection: DOJ Freed Indicted Chinese Tech Exec Shining New Light on Hunter” HERE)

Homeland Security Secretary Admits To Releasing 12K Haitian Illegals in the U.S.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas admitted on Sunday that more than 12,000 Haitian migrants who had been camped out under a bridge near Del Rio, Texas, have been released into the US and more may follow them.

He told “Fox News Sunday” that there are about 12,400 Haitians in the process of having asylum claims heard by an immigration judge, while around 5,000 are being processed by the Department of Homeland Security.

About 3,000 are being detained.

“Approximately, I think it’s about 10,000 or so, 12,000,” Mayorkas responded when asked how many migrants have already been released.

He added that the number could go beyond 5,000 as other cases are processed. (Read more from “Homeland Security Secretary Admits To Releasing 12K Haitian Illegals in the U.S.” HERE)

Biden All but Admits He’s Never Letting the U.S. Return to a Pre-COVID Normal

President Joe Biden indicated that it will take 97 to 98 percent of Americans receiving the COVID-19 jab before he lets the nation move on from the pandemic. The moment came during a White House event on Monday, where the president was receiving his COVID-19 booster shot.

“I think we get the vast majority … 97 percent, 98 percent. I think we’ll get awful close,” he said. “But I’m not the scientist. I think one thing is for certain. A quarter of the country can’t go unvaccinated and us not continue to have a problem.”

The president later went on to note that the U.S. will continue funding efforts to expand global COVID-19 vaccine distribution. (Read more from “Biden All but Admits He’s Never Letting the U.S. Return to a Pre-COVID Normal” HERE)

Senate Republicans Block Government Funding, Debt Ceiling Bill

Senate Republicans blocked a government spending and debt ceiling bill Monday, setting up a dramatic showdown between Republicans and Democrats on whether Congress should raise the debt ceiling while Democrats plan to spend trillions on infrastructure and social spending.

The Senate failed to invoke cloture, 48-50, on H.R. 5305, the continuing resolution (CR). Senate Republicans blocked the CR as House Democrats remain poised to vote on the $3.5 trillion infrastructure bill.

Democrats, rather than put the debt ceiling increase in the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill, decided that they would pack the debt ceiling increase in the government funding bill.

The Democrats’ CR would lift the debt ceiling through the 2022 midterm elections and fund the government through December.

The federal government will run out of funding on September 30, and the debt ceiling must be lifted in early October. (Read more from “Senate Republicans Block Government Funding, Debt Ceiling Bill” HERE)

Poll: Joe Biden’s Approval Tanks to Record Low

President Joe Biden’s approval ratings are continuing to suffer, crating to a record low as half of likely voters “strongly” disapprove of his job performance, Rasmussen’s Presidential Tracking Poll released Monday revealed.

The survey shows Biden’s approval tanking to 40 percent. Of those, 21 percent “strongly” approve.” This marks the first time it has fallen to 40 percent in the survey, although Biden has come close, reaching 42 percent a handful of times throughout September.

Overall, 58 percent disapprove of Biden’s job performance, and of those, 50 percent “strongly” disapprove. This also appears to mark the highest disapproval of his presidency in this particular poll.

Biden’s approval has continued to take a tumble since the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan at the end of August, as his administration left hundreds of Americans behind. Then, weeks later, Biden delivered a divisive speech on the Chinese coronavirus pandemic in which he essentially pitted vaccinated Americans against unvaccinated Americans.

“We’ve been patient, but our patience is wearing thin. And your refusal has cost all of us,” he said at the time, using the speech to announce his federal vaccine mandate, requiring certain healthcare workers, federal workers, and federal contractors to be vaccinated.

House GOP Demand Biden Instruct Top Spy Office To Reveal Scientists Who Helped With COVID-19 Origins Report

House Intelligence Committee Republicans accused the Biden administration’s top intelligence office of “stonewalling” congressional overseers from learning about outside doctors and scientists whom U.S. spy agencies relied upon to put together a report assessing the origins of COVID-19.

Rep. Devin Nunes, the ranking member on the panel, was joined by nine fellow GOP members who said they had no confidence in the origins assessment because the Office of the Director of National Intelligence personnel who briefed them had declined to identify which scientists were consulted during the investigation, which did not provide a definitive conclusion on whether the virus was transmitted to humans naturally or through a lab leak in China.

“This is fundamental oversight of the IC’s work. We need this information to determine whether there was any selection bias in choosing the outside scientists to consult. We also need it to determine whether any of the scientists had conflicts of interest that should affect the weight given their analyses,” the Republicans wrote in a letter to Biden dated Friday.

Nunes, a California Republican, revealed the letter during an appearance on Sunday Morning Futures on Fox News.

“It looks like there needs to be an entire new report that needs to be written, because Republican members on the committee have basically had enough of this. It just looks like this is another attempt to obfuscate and protect China once again by the Biden administration,” he told host Maria Bartiromo. State Sues Biden Administration Over Federal Transgender Guidance

Texas is suing the Biden administration to invalidate a federal civil rights directive on pronoun usage and bathroom access in the workplace.

The challenge is to an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission advisory that says employers must let LGBT workers access the bathrooms of their choice. The EEOC warned in the same advisory that failure to use a worker’s preferred pronouns could amount to unlawful harassment. The document is based on the Supreme Court’s landmark gay rights decision, Bostock v. Clayton County.

In Bostock, the Supreme Court said it is illegal under federal law to fire someone for being gay or transgender. President Joe Biden signed an executive order committing to a whole-of-government implementation of the Bostock decision on his first day in office. The order intends to guarantee civil rights protections for LGBT people in a wide range of contexts, from housing to refugee resettlement. The order put the administration on a collision course with red state dissenters on issues like bathroom access and women’s sports.

Texas says the EEOC’s directive goes well beyond the Court’s holding in Bostock and violates the First Amendment to the extent it forces workers to use a person’s preferred pronouns.

“States should be able to choose protection of privacy for their employers over subjective views of gender, and this illegal guidance puts many women and children at risk,” Texas attorney general Ken Paxton said in a statement. “These backdoor attempts to force businesses, including the state of Texas, to align with [EEOC’s] beliefs is unacceptable.” (Read more from “State Sues Biden Administration Over Federal Transgender Guidance” HERE)

GOP Lawmakers Warn Against More Military Coordination With Russia

Top Republicans in the House and Senate on Monday pushed back on the Pentagon’s recent call to increase coordination between the U.S. and Russian militaries, saying they were “deeply troubled” by the news.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley last week said U.S. and Russian forces should “have an effective means of military-to-military communications in order to clearly understand each other’s positions on very difficult issues” and help “de-escalate any kind of crisis situation.”

Milley’s comments come as the U.S. government is hoping to make inroads with Russia to gain Moscow’s help in fighting extremist groups in Afghanistan.

With the U.S. military completely out of Afghanistan as of Aug. 31, Biden administration officials want to secure basing rights and counterterrorism support in the nations that border the country.

But such interactions could have negative consequences, according to the ranking members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senate Armed Services Committee, House Foreign Affairs Committee and House Armed Services Committee. Privacy Experts Warn Consumers Apple’s Photo-Scans May Return

When Apple announced a new program that would scan photos in all products, from phones to tablets and more, whether the owners wanted that or not, privacy experts rose up to protest.

The company then said it would delay the program “while consulting with various groups about its impact,” according to a report from the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

But the EFF has now issued a warning that consumers should not allow themselves to become complacent about the plans for the company’s breach of privacy.

“The delay may well be a diversionary tactic,” the organization explained in a report this week. “Every September, Apple holds one of its big product announcement events, where Apple executives detail the new devices and features coming out. Apple likely didn’t want concerns about the phone-scanning features to steal the spotlight.”

The EFF said the program “poses an enormous danger to privacy and security,” and the “disastrous” idea should not be allowed to fade into the background. (Read more from “Privacy Experts Warn Consumers Apple’s Photo-Scans May Return” HERE)

Ignore the MSM: Here’s What the 2020 Maricopa County Election Audit Actually Says

A draft copy of the 2020 Maricopa County election audit has been leaked to KJZZ, a Phoenix-based radio station. . .

“The partisan review of Maricopa County’s 2.1 million ballots cast in the 2020 election found a vote count nearly identical to what the county had previously reported,” CNN reported. Like other liberal outlets, CNN focused on the results of the hand-recount part of the audit. As we know, hand recounts may account for slight discrepancies in counting but do not address irregularities or potentially illegally cast ballots. . .

“What has been found is both encouraging and alarming,” the report summary reads. “On the positive side there were no substantial differences between the hand count of the ballots provided and the official canvass results for the County.” . . .

[Here are some of the findings:]

None of the various systems related to elections had numbers that would balance and agree with each other. In some cases, these differences were significant.

There appears to be many ballots cast from individuals who had moved prior to the election.
Files were missing from the Election Management System (EMS) Server. . .

On the ballot side, batches were not always clearly delineated, duplicated ballots were missing the required serial numbers, originals were duplicated more than once, and the Auditors were never provided Chain‐of‐ Custody documentation for the ballots for the time‐period prior to the ballot’s movement into the Auditors’ care. This all increased the complexity and difficulty in properly auditing the results; and added ambiguity into the final conclusions.
