Biden Admin Announces New Restrictions on Immigration Deportations and Arrests

The Biden administration announced new restrictions on immigration enforcement deportations and arrests in what appears to be a concession to open borders advocates.

The new guidelines, published in a memo by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Thursday, order the department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement to limit arrests and deportations to those who pose a threat to security.

“We do not have the resources to apprehend and seek the removal of every one of these noncitizens,” read the memo. “Therefore, we need to exercise our discretion and determine whom to prioritize for immigration enforcement action.”

Mayorkas went on to say that many of the migrants illegally residing in the U.S. add to the economy and their communities.

“In exercising our discretion, we are guided by the fact that the majority of undocumented noncitizens who could be subject to removal have been contributing members of our communities for years,” he added. “They include individuals who work on the frontlines in the battle against COVID, lead our congregations of faith, teach our children, do back-breaking farm work to help deliver food to our table, and contribute in many other meaningful ways.” (Read more from “Biden Admin Announces New Restrictions on Immigration Deportations and Arrests” HERE)

Biden’s Soviet-Raised Pick for Treasury Post Wanted to End Banking ‘As We Know It’

President Biden’s controversial pick to be the Treasury Department’s comptroller of the currency is a USSR-born and educated professor who has praised the former Soviet Union’s lack of a gender pay gap while recently advocating for ending banking “as we know it” by moving Americans’ finances from private banks to the Federal Reserve.

Saule Omarova, a Cornell University law professor, was tapped by the president Sept. 23 to oversee the nation’s biggest banks and federal savings associations, with the White House calling her “one of the country’s leading academic experts on issues related to regulation of systemic risk and structural trends in financial markets.”

If approved, Omarova would be the first female and non-white person in the position.

Her nomination has sparked criticism from Republicans, who say she is seeking to “radically reshaping the basic architecture and dynamics of modern finance” — and reportedly Janet Yellen, Biden’s Treasury secretary raised concerns about her taking the post.

In an early 2021 paper titled “The People’s Ledger,” Omarova argued for making private banks “non-depository lenders,” changing banking “as we know it.” (Read more from “Biden’s Soviet-Raised Pick for Treasury Post Wanted to End Banking ‘As We Know It'” HERE)

Democrats at Each Other’s Throats as Another Senator Takes Swing At Biden’s $3.5T Spending Spree Agenda

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., reiterated Thursday that she will not support a $3.5 trillion spending bill, in the latest sign of discord among key Democrats as President Biden scrambles to rally support for his signature piece of legislation.

“Senator Sinema said publicly more than two months ago, before Senate passage of the bipartisan infrastructure bill, that she would not support a bill costing $3.5 trillion,” Sinema’s office said in a statement shared on her Twitter account. “In August, she shared detailed concerns and priorities, including dollar figures, directly with Senate Majority Leader [Chuck] Schumer and the White House. Claims that the Senator has not detailed her views to President Biden and Senator Schumer are false.”

Biden has personally met with Sinema and fellow moderate Democrat holdout Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia on multiple occasions this week to negotiate an agreement on the spending bill. With a razor-thin majority, Biden needs every Senate Democrat to support his bill for it to pass.

Earlier Thursday, Manchin said he would not support a spending bill with a topline number larger than $1.5 trillion.

Sinema’s latest statement followed criticism from prominent progressives who say moderate opponents to the full spending bill have not been clear on their priorities. Critics included Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., one of many progressives who will not vote to approve the $1.2 trillion bipartisan physical infrastructure deal unless the Senate first passes a spending bill focused on social programs. Republicans Call on Marine Corps to Release Jailed LT. Col. Stu Scheller

Republicans in the House and Senate are calling on the Marine Corps to release Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, who was thrown in a military jail this week after he criticized military leadership for the botched Afghanistan withdrawal on social media and continued posting about his disposition.

According to a Marine Corps spokesperson, Scheller is currently in pre-trial confinement in the Regional Brig for Marine Corps Installations East aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune pending an Article 32 preliminary hearing. The time, date, and location of the proceedings have not been determined.

The Marine Corps notes that he has not been charged with anything but the “general nature” of offenses being considered at the hearing are:

Article 88 (contempt toward officials)
Article 90 (willfully disobeying superior commissioned officer)
Article 92 (failure to obey lawful general orders)
Article 133 (conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman)

Scheller first caught the nation’s attention after he posted a short video of himself on Facebook criticizing his leadership on August 26, the day that 11 Marines, one Navy corpsman, and one Army soldier were killed during the Biden administration’s hastily-planned non-combatant evacuation operation in Kabul. Democrat Bill Requires COVID Vax or Test for Domestic Air Travel

A bill introduced by Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., would require travelers on domestic airline flights in the United States to be vaccinated for COVID-19, test negative for the disease or have had a previous infection.

The U.S. Air Travel Public Safety Act would require the Secretary of Health and Human Services to consult with the4 Federal Aviation Administration to develop national vaccination standards and procedures related to COVID-19 and domestic air travel.

“We can’t allow upcoming holiday air travel to contribute to another surge in COVID cases,” Feinstein said on Twitter.

“Today, I introduced legislation requiring passengers on domestic flights to be vaccinated, test negative or be fully recovered from a previous COVID illness.”

Donald Trump Severs Ties With Corey Lewandowski After Sexual Harassment Allegations From Republican Donor

Former President Donald Trump severed ties with Corey Lewandowski on Wednesday after he was accused of sexual harassment, a spokesman for the president confirmed.

“Corey Lewandowski will be going on to other endeavors and we very much want to thank him for his service,” wrote the Director of Communications for Save America and Donald J. Trump, Taylor Budowich, on social media. “He will no longer be associated with Trump World.”

Lewandowski, who served as Trump’s campaign manager until he was fired in June 2016, remained in Trump’s orbit throughout his presidency.

In 2021, Trump appointed him to lead Make America Great Again Action, a Super PAC backed by the former president, before the allegations surfaced,

Trump appointed former Attorney General of Florida Pam Bondi to replace Lewandowski. (Read more from “Donald Trump Severs Ties With Corey Lewandowski After Sexual Harassment Allegations From Republican Donor” HERE)

Last Year’s Heroes, This Year’s Scapegoats: Frontline Workers Livelihoods at Stake Over Vaccine Mandates

Essential workers were heralded last year as heroes as they continued in-person work while the coronavirus spread across the nation. Now, those same workers are facing terminations and resignations due to vaccine mandates implemented by the government and private organizations.

“We worked hard,” Indiana nurse Sheila Burleson told Fox News, referring to healthcare workers who continued caring for patients during the pandemic. “I came home and cried, fell to my knees and cried … I had five people die in one day.”

Now, she is out of a job after not complying with a vaccine mandate at Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis, and she’s no longer “even proud to wear” the “frontline heroes” shirts that were popular last year. . .

“We were celebrated last year,” fellow Indiana nurse Adara Allen told Fox News. “But a few nurses did end up leaving due to [the hospital] not accepting their medical issues or having a reaction or adverse effect to the first dose of the covid vaccine.”

Allen previously worked at Eskenazi Health but was told to no longer come into work due to her refusing the vaccine. She is pregnant, and though the CDC recommends the vaccine for pregnant women, her pregnancy is considered high-risk. Allen previously suffered a miscarriage and has issues with blood clots. Hillary Clinton Bombarded With Accusations She’s a ‘War Criminal’

Hillary Clinton, who famously embroiled herself in scandal during her failed 2016 run for the presidency, her second loss in the race, by putting national security secrets on a private email server in her home, was the target of derogatory accusations on a trip to Belfast.

Clinton, who also repeated for years her claims that President Donald Trump was not legitimately elected, was at Queen’s University there to be inaugurated as chancellor.

According to a report from Political Insider, she is bombarded with shouts of “war criminal” as she climbed the steps. . .

[Warning: video contains explicit language.]

“While she served as Senator Clinton for the state of New York in 2002, Clinton voted for the Iraq War. That vote was used against her during the 2008 Democratic presidential primaries by rival Barack Obama, who campaigned heavily on opposing then-President George W. Bush’s wars,” the Political Insider explained. (Read more from “Hillary Clinton Bombarded With Accusations She’s a ‘War Criminal’” HERE)

Poll Shows Most Americans Wildly Overestimate COVID Hospitalization Risks: Is the Media To Blame?

A new Gallup poll shows that when it comes to COVID risks, a lot of Americans have no idea what’s going on.

The poll, involving 3,158 adult Americans, tells us that 41% of Democrats believe the unvaccinated have a 50% chance of being hospitalized because of COVID. Independents believe the correct number is 26%, while Republicans came in at 22%. The correct answer: Fewer than 1% of unvaccinated people infected with COVID will have to go to the hospital.

While Republicans were more likely to overestimate the risk of vaccinated COVID patients being admitted to a hospital, both groups are off by a mile. . .

In a rare example of media professionalism, Germany’s largest newspaper Bild (German for “Photograph”) actually apologized to the children of Germany for their COVID scare tactics. Don’t count on Don Lemon being so scrupulous.

In a ghoulish attempt at journalism, Don Lemon went to the hospital where he was born to ask patients struggling with COVID if they regret not getting vaccinated. The answers likely surprised him.

Biden Policies Need Better Arguments Than ‘Orange Man Bad’

“First you win the argument, then you win the vote.” President Joe Biden and Democratic leaders have ignored this advice from Margaret Thatcher to their own detriment. Democrats, aided by former President Donald Trump’s denigration of Georgia’s electoral system, were gifted by voters with the narrowest of legislative majorities, 51-50 in the Senate and 220-212 (with three vacancies currently) in the House. Biden himself won the crucial three swing states by a combined total of just 42,918 popular votes.

Incautiously, Democrats plunged into policymaking without making anything like cognizable policy arguments. Trump had reduced illegal immigration by extending walls on the Mexican border and persuading Mexico’s president to hold asylum-seekers in Mexico until their (usually baseless) claims could be ruled on. Both policies were ditched on day one of the Biden administration. The policy argument: “Orange Man Bad.”

Now we see the easily predictable results. Border apprehensions are headed toward 2 million this year, the highest since the 1998-2000 boom years . So-called asylum-seekers from Central America have been joined by Middle Easterners, Africans, and, most recently, by some 20,000 Haitians, previously settled in Chile and Brazil, huddled under a bridge heading to Del Rio, Texas.

Kamala Harris’s pathetic plea, “Don’t come,” has been overwhelmed by the evidence that most of those who do come illegally are ushered into the United States and told to meet court dates which everyone knows most won’t.

The likely result is something like one million new illegal immigrants in the U.S. this year. This represents a reversal of the trend. The Pew Research Center says the illegal immigrant population peaked at 12.2 million in 2007, declined as post-recession net immigration from Mexico plunged to zero, and leveled off at 10.5 million in 2017.
