Biden Sends a Total of 5,000 Troops to Afghanistan, Blames Trump for Taliban Resurgence

President Joe Biden released a statement Saturday from the White House blaming his decision to surge U.S. troops to Afghanistan to combat the Taliban’s surging land acquisition on the policies of former President Donald Trump.

Biden said in the statement that he would send an additional 1,000 troops to Afghanistan to complement the 1,000 troops already in the country and the 3,000-troop surge he announced last week, a defense official told the Washington Examiner. The president said the move was necessary after he inherited a tenuous situation from the previous administration, claiming that Trump had cut a deal with the Taliban in 2019 that put them in a powerful military position. Biden also criticized Trump’s decision to roll back American forces stationed in the country.

“When I came to office, I inherited a deal cut by my predecessor, which he invited the Taliban to discuss at Camp David on the eve of 9/11 of 2019, that left the Taliban in the strongest position militarily since 2001 and imposed a May 1, 2021 deadline on U.S. forces,” Biden said in the statement. “Shortly before he left office, he also drew U.S. forces down to a bare minimum of 2,500.” . . .

The president said that he was forced to make a decision between honoring the deal with the Taliban established under the Trump administration and bolstering the U.S. presence in Afghanistan.

“Therefore, when I became President, I faced a choice — follow through on the deal, with a brief extension to get our forces and our allies’ forces out safely, or ramp up our presence and send more American troops to fight once again in another country’s civil conflict,” he wrote. Cuomo Impeachment Probe Suspended After Disgraced Governor’s Resignation

The New York State Assembly is suspending its impeachment investigation into Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) after he announced on Tuesday that he will resign over allegations of sexual harassment and abuse.

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie (D) said in a statement that he believes the Judiciary Committee’s investigation would have resulted in articles of impeachment after uncovering evidence to support the allegations but that the governor’s resignation, set to take effect on Aug. 25, made the inquiry moot.

“There are two reasons for this decision. First, the purpose of the Judiciary Committee’s impeachment investigation was to determine whether Governor Cuomo should remain in office. The governor’s resignation answers that directive,” he said. “Second, we have been advised by [Judiciary Committee] Chair [Charles] Lavine … of the belief that the constitution does not authorize the legislature to impeach and remove an elected official who is no longer in office.”

“Let me be clear — the committee’s work over the last several months, although not complete, did uncover credible evidence in relation to allegations that have been made in reference to the governor,” he added. Pentagon: Speed Taliban is Taking Over Afghanistan ‘Deeply Concerning’

The U.S. military has been alarmed by the speed with which the Taliban has managed to seize control of much of Afghanistan, as the United States works to wind down a war that has spanned nearly two decades and remove its troop presence from the country.

“We’re certainly concerned by the speed with which the Taliban has been moving,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters Friday afternoon. “It’s deeply concerning.”

President Joe Biden, who is spending the weekend at Camp David, was briefed on the situation in Afghanistan on Friday, according to the White House. He last spoke publicly about the troop withdrawal Tuesday, telling reporters he didn’t regret his decision have all U.S. troops out of Afghanistan by September 11.

SHOCK POLL: Dems Prefer Socialism to Capitalism

Fox News released a poll on Thursday which revealed that a majority of Democratic voters prefer socialism over capitalism. The results, Ronn Blitzer says in his write-up for FOX Business, indicates a “drastic shift from last year” and a “sharp reversal from just a year and a half ago.” . . .

Among total respondents, 32 percent have a favorable view of socialism, while 61 percent have an unfavorable view. These numbers are nearly reversed, however, among Democratic voters, with 59 percent having a favorable view and 31 percent having an unfavorable view. Democratic men, at 64 percent, and liberals, at 63 percent, had the highest favorable ratings of socialism.

Other demographics where a majority had a favorable view of socialism included Blacks at 59 percent, Non-white women who had a favorable-unfavorable viewpoint breakdown of 50 to 42 percent, Democratic women whose favorable-unfavorable breakdown was 56-32 percent, and Biden voters, where the breakdown was 56 percent favorable and 34 percent unfavorable.

When it comes to capitalism, 56 percent of respondents had a favorable view, while 37 percent had an unfavorable view. While 49 percent of Democrats had a favorable view of capitalism, compared to the 44 percent who had an unfavorable view, one can clearly see that more Democrats have a favorable view of socialism than capitalism, by double digits. Leaked Audio: DHS Secretary Says Border Crisis is ‘Unsustainable,’ ‘We’re Going to Lose’ (VIDEO)

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas privately told Border Patrol agents recently that the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border is “unsustainable” and that “we’re going to lose” if the influx continues and the “borders are the first line of defense.”

The secretary’s desperate message to immigration enforcement officials was reportedly recorded in secret by a Border Patrol agent and obtained by Fox News this week.

“A couple of days ago I was down in Mexico, and I said look, you know, if, if our borders are the first line of defense, we’re going to lose and this is unsustainable,” Mayorkas said. “We can’t continue like this, our people in the field can’t continue and our system isn’t built for it.”

Mayorkas reportedly told the agents that the current situation at the border “cannot continue” and added that the federal government’s system was not designed to handle such an influx of migrants.

A Russian woman, a drug dealer, and two of his compatriots may have stolen a laptop from Hunter Biden in 2018, Hunter told a prostitute in another sex video, leaving the president’s son concerned he may be blackmailed because of his father’s political position.

While the salacious video of Hunter Biden released earlier this week exposes more details about the troubling lifestyle of the president’s son, it reveals much more about a corrupt and complicit media, a corrupt and incompetent intelligence community, and a corrupt and compromised Joe Biden. . .

The video then captured Hunter telling the prostitute that during the summer of 2018 he had nearly overdosed from drugs while partying in Las Vegas with his drug dealer and two other guys. When he came to later, “there was this Russian 35-year-old, really nice, pure brunette,” Hunter explained. He then discovered his laptop was missing. . .

The corporate media’s bias in favor of then-candidate Joe Biden was clear to all but the most hardened partisans on the left, but Wednesday’s reporting from The Daily Mail now reveals another reality: that while the corrupt media ignored the story, even a hooker saw the significance of a missing laptop containing Hunter Biden’s sex videos. . .

President Biden Already Weighing His Next Unconstitutional Action

President Joe Biden revealed this week that his administration is looking into whether he can federally mandate masks for all public school districts, even though such a policy would violate the states’ right to govern their own education and public health systems.

He at least seemed to understand the bounds of federalism: “I don’t believe that I do [have that power] thus far,” Biden told reporters. “We’re checking that.”

Biden’s advisers are going to be told the same thing they were told about the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s updated eviction moratorium: You can’t do that. Indeed, Biden’s team was told not just once, but several times, that any federal extension of the moratorium would be unconstitutional because of the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on the subject. Researchers Claim Facebook Threatened to Sue Them Unless They Shut Down Project

Researchers studying Instagram’s algorithm said they were forced to shut down their project after Facebook threatened to sue them.

AlgorithmWatch, a German research and advocacy organization, issued a statement Friday alleging Facebook had threatened it with legal action. The group was researching Instagram’s news feed algorithm by recruiting volunteers to install a browser extension that automatically scraped their Instagram newsfeed data.

Researchers allege Facebook, the owner of Instagram, told them the extension violated its terms of service and the company would pursue a “more formal engagement” if they did not disable it. The group said this was a “thinly veiled threat.”

“Facebook’s reaction shows that any organization that attempts to shed light on one of their algorithms is under constant threat of being sued,” the researchers wrote. The group shut down its project on July 13, citing fear of legal action from the tech giant.

Report: Biden Considering COVID Vaccine Passport for Interstate Travel

A report that the Biden administration is discussing the possibility of vaccine passports for interstate travel drew outrage on Friday across social media.

The Associated Press, noting President Biden has become more “aggressive” in his push for COVID-19 mandates, reported “more severe measures — such as mandating vaccines for interstate travel or changing how the federal government reimburses treatment for those who are unvaccinated and become ill with COVID-19 — have been discussed” by the White House.

But the administration is “worried that they would be too polarizing at this time.”

An administration official told the AP “the interstate travel vaccination requirement was not under consideration at the moment.”

US Embassy Urges Americans to Leave Afghanistan Immediately; This Afghan Rout is Entirely on Joe Biden; Biden Orders THOUSANDS of Troops Back to Afghanistan

By The Hill. The U.S. Embassy in Kabul is urging all Americans to leave Afghanistan “immediately” as the security situation in the country continues to deteriorate due to advances made by the Taliban in key provinces amid the U.S.’s troop withdrawal.

The embassy urged all U.S. citizens to vacate the country “using available commercial flight options.” It said its ability to assist Americans in Afghanistan is “extremely limited” because of the security conditions and reduced staffing.

The embassy is offering repatriation loans to citizens who cannot afford to purchase an airline ticket.

The notice comes days after the embassy issued a similar security alert on Saturday urging U.S. citizens to leave the country immediately.

The Taliban has seized a number of key provincial capitals in Afghanistan in recent days as the U.S. and NATO inch closer to completing their military withdrawals from the country. This Afghan Rout is Entirely on Joe Biden

By New York Post. It doesn’t get more idiotic: “The Taliban also has to make an assessment about what they want their role to be in the international community,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said with a straight face Wednesday.

Oh, and the State Department has sent diplomats to “press the Taliban to stop their military offensive and to negotiate a political settlement, which is the only path to stability and development in Afghanistan.” They’re also begging to have the US embassy in Kabul left alone, warning that future US aid is at risk — and so effectively promising that we’ll actually subsidize these barbarians.

Hello? The Taliban has never given a damn about world opinion or “stability and development.” It was a global pariah when it ruled Afghanistan in the ’90s, ignoring the handwringing as it crushed the country’s women, destroyed those 1,500-year-old Buddha statues and hosted the al Qaeda plotters of 9/11. . .

The White House can pretend that diplomacy might somehow save the Afghan government, but its real sentiments rest in President Joe Biden’s words while campaigning last year, when he said he’d have “zero responsibility” for what happened after he pulled US troops out.

Biden Orders Thousands of Troops Back to Afghanistan as Taliban Sweeps Country

By Breitbart. The Pentagon announced Thursday it will deploy three infantry battalions, or roughly 3,000 troops, to assist with the reduction of American civilians at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, and the evacuation of Afghan Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) applicants from the country.

The battalions are already in the region, Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said during a press conference. They will move to the Hamid Karzai Airport in Kabul within the next 24-48 hours. Two of the battalions are Marine battalions while the third is an Army battalion. They will join the 650 U.S. troops already in Kabul.

In addition, a joint Army and Air Force support element of around 1,000 personnel will help with the processing of the SIV applicants, Kirby said. The element would move into Qatar in the coming days, he said.

Lastly, an infantry brigade combat team will deploy to Kuwait to be “postured and prepared if needed to provide additional security at the airport,” Kirby added. That brigade combat team would arrive sometime in the next week, he said.

“These forces are being deployed to support the orderly and safe reduction of civilian personnel at the request of the State Department and to help facilitate an accelerated process of working through SIV applicants.
