The grandfather of modern physics, Sir Isaac Newton, has become the latest target of the woke mob in the push to “decolonise the curriculum”, as Sheffield University is reportedly set to contextualise lessons on Newton with claims about him benefiting from “colonial-era activity”.

Students at the university in the north of England will reportedly have lessons on Netwon’s groundbreaking three laws of motion, including the law of gravity, with explainers detailing the “global origins and historical context” of his theories.

Professors in the engineering department of Sheffield University will seek to “challenge long-standing conscious and unconscious biases” among pupils and to confront the supposed “white saviour” and “Eurocentric” view of science and mathematics, according to documents seen by The Telegraph.

A diversity consultant at several top universities in Britain decried the efforts to decolonise the curriculum, warning that the movement is expanding from the traditionally left-wing humanities departments into the hard sciences.

“I’m employed by universities to do this training but for me equality, diversity and inclusion training is equality of opportunity, diversity of thought and inclusivity of action – that’s all,” the unnamed consultant said.

Man Kicked off City Commission After Failing to Address Black Professor as ‘Doctor’

The city council of Greensboro, North Carolina, voted unanimously to oust a construction contractor from the zoning commission after a tense exchange in which he failed to address a black professor as “doctor,” the Greensboro News & Record reported.

Council member Sharon Hightower last week said Tony Collins exhibited “white privilege and entitlement. And what I saw last night at the zoning commission meeting was white privilege at its ultimate finest. It was absolutely disrespectful … to dress down an African American female was unacceptable,” WFMY-TV reported.

Carrie Rosario is a Greensboro citizen and an associate professor of public health education at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, the station said, adding that she holds a DrPH — a professional doctoral-level degree in public health.

During the April 19 Greensboro Zoning Commission virtual meeting, Rosario introduced herself as “Dr. Rosario” to the commission before noting her opposition to a planned development near her home, WFMY reported.

Refund the Police: Dem Mayor Requests More Police Funding Over High Crime, Officer Shortage

. . .Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti (D) is proposing to increase the budget of the Los Angeles Police Department amid skyrocketing violent crime and increased vacancies within the department.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Garcetti is proposing a 3% increase to the LAPD budget from $1.71 billion to $1.76 billion. . .

The mayor’s plan, which covers the fiscal year starting July 1, would continue to provide a force of about 9,750 sworn police officers. The number of officers at the department now is lower, however, because of retirements and resignations. The LAPD is expected to have 9,489 officers on June 30. […]

A Garcetti aide said at a briefing Tuesday morning that the decision to keep the LAPD budget mostly the same was in part a response to rising crime. Hours later, Garcetti said the city needs to continue to keep hiring officers to keep up with retirements.

BLM Calls for Justice for Ma’Khia Bryant but Not for a Pregnant Black Teenager Gunned Down the Same Day

An 18-year-old pregnant black woman, J’Lyn Quinones, was fatally shot on the same day as Ma’Khia Bryant, but her story did not garner the same attention and outrage from Black Lives Matter activists.

“I know that J’Lyn was strong because her last act of strength on this earth was to ensure that her daughter was born,” said one mourner at a vigil that was held in honor of Quinones.

Quinones was crossing the street in Capitol Heights, Maryland, Tuesday during the day when she and another woman were shot. While doctors were able to save her baby during an emergency surgery, Quinones later died of her wounds.

One of the suspects in the case, 22-year-old Michael Johnson, is believed to be the father of the baby Quinones was carrying when she was killed. Johnson and another suspect were charged with accessory after first-degree murder for allegedly helping a third suspect, 21-year-old Malik Johnson, evade arrest after the shooting.

“Violence has increased in Prince George’s County and in Washington, D.C. And we have to do something about it, especially on young women,” Quinones’s mother said at the vigil. Dems Speak Up Over Harsh Treatment of Jan 6 Protesters, GOP Silent

Republicans are being criticized for staying silent about the reportedly harsh treatment of people arrested and detained in connection with the Jan. 6 Capitol riot while some leading Democrats speak out about it.

A majority of the more than 300 people arrested in the wake of the riot have since been released as they await their trials, Politico reported earlier this week. But dozens more, who have been deemed flight risks or risks to obstructing justice, are still being held without bond in a Washington, D.C., detention facility with a historically bad reputation for abusing inmates, some of whom have already reported, via their attorneys, being mistreated and beaten by guards.

In addition, those detainees are held in isolation for 23 hours a day, ostensibly to protect them and other inmates, as they wait for trial dates — treatment that Sens. Elizabeth Warran (D-Mass.) and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), both opponents of solitary confinement, are calling abusive, Politico notes. . .

“Solitary confinement is a form of punishment that is cruel and psychologically damaging,” Warren told the outlet. “And we’re talking about people who haven’t been convicted of anything yet.”

GOP Lawmaker Asks FBI to Reassess Decision Concluding 2017 Baseball Shooting Was ‘Suicide by Cop’

Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) is asking the FBI to reassess their decision to classify the June 14, 2017 baseball field shooting outside of Washington as “suicide by cop” rather than a domestic terrorism case.

Wenstrup was present when the Republican legislators were targeted by left-wing extremist James Hodgkinson, who fired over 100 rounds at them and other staff, severely injuring House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.), who was hit on the hip and recovered after many surgeries. . .

The shooter is known to have posted angry messages about then-president Donald Trump and other Republicans. He was wounded during gunfire exchange with Capitol Police and later died at the scene.

“According to FBI Special Agents, the attacker’s motivation was ‘suicide by cop,’” Wenstrup wrote.

“This conclusion defies logic and contradicts the publicly known facts about the perpetrator and the attack. The shooter had an extensive social media record highlighting his hatred of President Trump and Republicans. He had a list of names—including Republican Members of Congress—in his possession. Before carrying out his attack, he asked if the Members at the baseball field were Republicans or Democrats,” Wenstrup wrote. COVID Vaccine Examined For Link to Heart Inflammation Cases

Israel’s Health Ministry said on Sunday it is examining a small number of cases of heart inflammation in people who had received Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine, though it has not yet drawn any conclusions.

Pfizer said it has not observed a higher rate of the condition than would normally be expected in the general population.

Israel’s pandemic response coordinator, Nachman Ash, said that a preliminary study showed “tens of incidents” of myocarditis occurring among more than 5 million vaccinated people, primarily after the second dose. . .

Most of the cases were reported among people up to age 30.

Biden’s 100 Day Approval the Third-Lowest Since 1945

Joe Biden’s approval rating sits at 52% as he nears his 100th day in office this week, a historically low number for a new president.

The only two presidents in the last seven decades who earned a lower 100 Day approval rating than Biden are Donald Trump, who earned 42%, and Gerald Ford, who earned 48% after he took over for Richard Nixon. Every other president since 1945 has broken the 50% mark or far surpassed it. . .

According to a Washington Post-ABC News poll taken April 18-21, just over half of American adults approve of Biden’s job as president overall so far. Of those who approve, 34% say they strongly approve and 18% say they somewhat approve.

DOJ Post Nominee Pushed Essay Comparing Cops to KKK

President Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the Justice Department’s civil rights division circulated an essay from self-proclaimed Marxist poet Amiri Baraka defending cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal and referring to police officers as members of the Ku Klux Klan, according an email from her days at Columbia University.

Kristen Clarke forwarded the Baraka essay in an email on June 25, 1999, to her mentor, the late historian Manning Marable.

She suggested that the essay, entitled “Mumia, ‘Lynch Law’ & Imperialism” be placed in a magazine Marable edited and used for a panel on the death penalty.

“Here is a piece for the magazine & the panel 3 Race and The Death Penalty,” Clarke wrote to Marable.

The email was obtained by the American Accountability Foundation, a conservative advocacy group founded by two former Republican Senate staffers. The foundation, which has published other materials about Clarke on its website, BidenNoms.com, says that the email is from Marable’s academic archives at Columbia University.
