Gunman Kills At Least 8, Injures Others at FedEx Facility

A gunman killed eight people and wounded several others before killing himself in a late-night shooting at a FedEx facility near the Indianapolis airport, police said.

Five people were hospitalized, including one in critical condition, after the Thursday night shooting, said Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Officer Genae Cook during a news briefing early Friday. Another two people were treated and released at the scene. FedEx said people who worked for the company were among the dead.

Authorities have not identified the gunman and investigators were still in the process of conducting interviews and gathering information. Cook said it was too early to tell whether the shooter was an employee at the facility.

Indianapolis Deputy Police Chief Craig McCartt said the gunman started randomly shooting at people in the parking lot before entering the facility, and then went into the building, where he shot himself shortly before police entered. New California Bill Would Allow Targets Of Recall Petitions To See Who Signed Them

Earlier this week, a bill that would allow California politicians facing recall petitions to see the signers cleared its first committee.

According to KTLA, the bill would take effect next year if passed, so it would not apply to the current recall election of Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom, but leaders of the Newsom recall came to the Capitol in Sacramento to oppose the bill, for the simple reason that it would be easily abused and discourage anyone from signing petitions in the future due to fear of retaliation.

Black Reparations Is About To Be A Debate Topic On The Hill

We’re about to have a discussion about something that’s been on the minds of the far left for years: black reparations. In the spirit of unity, we’re going to punish whole swaths of people for the sin of slavery for which they bear zero responsibility. Does anyone see this becoming a racial trainwreck? I do. I can see this coming from 1,000 miles away. Slavery is dead. The people who owned slaves in America when it was legal are LONG dead. The current folks living now have zero part in that heinous system of oppression but make them foot the bill because…feelings. If you want disunity, then debate this topic and waste everyone’s time. Congress has become a hall of theatrics and not governing. This is a prime example. It was introduced by Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX). This is the furthest such a proposal has gone in Congress—but it’ll likely not pass. That’s not the point, however. We’re getting a window into the world Democrats want to create if they get the legislative majorities to do so (via WaPo):

A House committee on Wednesday approved legislation to create a commission to make recommendations on paying reparations to the descendants of enslaved people, the furthest the bill has advanced since it was first introduced more than 30 years ago.

As expected, the vote broke on party lines, 25 to 17.

Disappointing Study: Stunning Number of Americans Don’t Hold a Biblical Worldview

A new study by longtime evangelical Christian researcher George Barna finds that 94% of Americans do not hold a biblical worldview.

The study found that the most common worldview among Americans (88%) might best be termed syncretism, said Barna, describing it as a “disparate, irreconcilable collection of beliefs and behaviors that define people’s lives.”

Barna’s American Worldview Inventory was conducted by the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, which Barna directs.

“Syncretism is a cut-and-paste approach to making sense of life,” he explained. “Rather than developing an internally consistent and philosophically coherent perspective, Americans embrace points of view or actions that feel comfortable or most convenient. Those beliefs and behaviors are often inconsistent, or even contradictory, but few Americans seemed troubled by that.” . . .

Study: Murders SKYROCKETING In Democrat-Run Cities

In 12 American cities run by Democrats, the murder rate is skyrocketing, according to a study by the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF).

Nationally, the murder rate has hit a 26-year high.

The LELDF study sees a direct correlation between the Democrat party’s anti-police rhetoric and how Democrat-run cities have turned that rhetoric into action through police budget cuts, mandates that reduce policing efforts such as stops and arrests, a lack of criminal prosecution by far-left prosecutors, and the morale issues that have resulted in a massive number of retirements.

In 2020, across the nation, homicides jumped a whopping 25 percent, which took us all the way back to the bad old days of 1995, the year before a violent crime and murder spree that launched in the 1970s finally started to come to an end.

BLM Threatening Legal Action Against Local Black Activist – Here’s Why

A spokesman for the national Black Lives Matter organization suggested a New York-based Black activist who called for an independent investigation of the group’s finances is illegally using the BLM name.

Hawk Newsome, the leader of an unaffiliated organization called Black Lives Matter Greater New York, criticized BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors, a self-identified “trained Marxist,” for presenting herself as a socialist while at the same time purchasing four homes across the U.S. since 2016 for a total of $3.2 million.

“If you go around calling yourself a socialist, you have to ask how much of her own personal money is going to charitable causes,” Newsome told the New York Post on Sunday. “It’s really sad because it makes people doubt the validity of the movement and overlook the fact that it’s the people that carry this movement.”

Newsome added that “black firms and black accountants” need to audit BLM Global Network Foundation (BLM), the group that Cullors co-founded and currently leads, and “find out where the money is going.”

An outside spokesman for BLM told the Daily Caller News Foundation on Tuesday that Newsome “is not and has never been a part of the official Black Lives Matter organization, but continues to use BLM’s name even after sending him multiple cease and desist letters. Another State Set to Bar Transgender Athletes From Women’s Sports

The Florida House passed a bill that would bar transgender athletes from competing in women’s and girl’s scholastic sports.

“This is about giving women and girls an equal chance to succeed,” said state Rep. Jenna Persons-Mulicka, a former tennis player and coach. “It’s simple. It’s clear. I’ve reviewed it.”

The bill passed the Republican-controlled state House on Wednesday, 77-40.

If passed, the bill would require public schools and college sports teams to admit athletes based on biological sex, not gender identity.

“It is the intent of the Legislature to maintain opportunities for female athletes to demonstrate their skill, strength, and athletic abilities while also providing them with opportunities to obtain recognition and accolades, college scholarships, and the numerous other long-term benefits that result from success in athletic endeavors and to promote sex equality by requiring the designation of separate sex-specific athletic teams or sports,” HB 1475, the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act, states. Biden Reportedly Once Praised Gov. Cuomo’s ‘Enormous Balls’

President Biden once spoke admiringly about Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s “absolutely enormous balls” — and illustrated his remarks with an indecent gesture, according to a report Tuesday.

The incident, which reportedly took place before an official event in Rochester in 2015, was recounted to the New York Times Magazine by a Cuomo aide who spoke at the time with Biden, then the nation’s vice president.

“Can I tell you my favorite thing about the governor?” Biden reportedly said.

“He’s got tremendous balls. Absolutely enormous balls.”

Chauvin Won’t Testify At Murder Trial in George Floyd’s Death

The defense at the murder trial of former Officer Derek Chauvin in the death of George Floyd wrapped up its case Thursday without putting Chauvin on the stand, presenting two days of testimony to the prosecution’s two weeks.

Chauvin informed the court that he would not testify, saying he would invoke his Fifth Amendment right not to take the stand. . .

Some prosecution rebuttal testimony was expected to follow Thursday. Closing arguments are set for Monday, after which the racially diverse jury will begin deliberating at the barbed-wire-ringed courthouse, with Minneapolis on edge against a repeat of the protests and violence that broke out last spring over Floyd’s death. . .

The only time Chauvin has been publicly heard defending himself was when the jury listened to body-camera footage from the scene last May. Biden’s U.N. Ambassador: ‘White Supremacy’ In America’s ‘Founding Documents And Principles’; Biden’s CDC Director: Racism ‘Serious Public Health Threat’

By Breitbart. U.N. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield told Al Sharpton’s National Action Network (NAN) on Wednesday that “the original sin of slavery weaved white supremacy into our founding documents and principles.”

Thomas-Greenfield addressed the NAN’s 30th annual summit, praising Sharpton for a “lifetime of activism” and thanking him for “never backing down.” She did not mention Sharpton’s history of antisemitic, racist, and homophobic rhetoric, or his role in inciting riots against Jews. . .

In her prepared remarks, Thomas-Greenfield said:

I spoke on the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. That day – and commemoration – was personal for me. So, I told the UN some personal stories. I told them about how my great-grandmother Mary Thomas, born in 1865, was the child of a slave. Just three generations back from me. I grew up in the segregated South. I was bussed to a segregated school. On weekends, the Klan burned crosses on lawns in our neighborhood.

I shared these stories and others to acknowledge, on the international stage, that I have personally experienced one of America’s greatest imperfections. I have seen for myself how the original sin of slavery weaved white supremacy into our founding documents and principles. But I also shared these stories to offer up an insight, a simple truth I’ve learned over the years: Racism is not the problem of the person who experiences it.

Biden’s CDC Director: Racism ‘Serious Public Health Threat’

By National Review. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky has declared racism a “serious public health threat.”

In a post on the CDC’s website, Walensky writes about the toll the coronavirus pandemic has taken on communities of color, “communities that have experienced disproportionate case counts and deaths, and where the social impact of the pandemic has been most extreme,” she writes.

“Yet, the disparities seen over the past year were not a result of COVID-19,” she wrote. “Instead, the pandemic illuminated inequities that have existed for generations and revealed for all of America a known, but often unaddressed, epidemic impacting public health: racism.”

She continued: “What we know is this: racism is a serious public health threat that directly affects the well-being of millions of Americans. As a result, it affects the health of our entire nation.
