Senate Votes To Advance Barrett Nomination To Supreme Court; Lisa Murkowski Votes Against Advancing Nomination

By Washington Examiner. The Senate voted Sunday to advance the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett, setting up a final confirmation vote Monday.

Senate Republicans provided the 51 vote minimum to prevent a Democratic filibuster, rejecting arguments from Democrats that the vacant Supreme Court seat should not be filled until the next president is sworn into office. . .

Two Republicans, Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine, voted against advancing the nomination, citing the proximity of the election and the decision by Republicans in 2016 to ignore then-President Barack Obama’s high court pick, Merrick Garland. Senate Votes To Limit Debate on Barrett Supreme Court Nomination

By Fox News. The Senate voted 51-48 Sunday afternoon to limit debate on the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett, setting up a vote on her confirmation for Monday evening.

Sunday’s vote limited debate over President Trump’s court appointee to 30 hours, meaning the full Senate will be able to hold a confirmation vote Monday beginning at approximately 7:26 p.m. ET.

“Judge Amy Coney Barrett of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit is a stellar nominee in every single respect,” Senate Majority Leader McConnell said on the Senate floor following the vote. “Her intellectual brilliance is unquestioned. Her command of the law is remarkable. Her integrity is above reproach.”

Two Republicans voted against ending debate, Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine., and Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska. Murkowski has, however, indicated that she will vote to confirm Barrett.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., railed against his Republicans for swiftly moving to fill a court vacancy in the weeks before a presidential election, after refusing to do the same when there was a vacancy early in the final year of President Barack Obama’s presidency.

Music Publicist Says She Was Fired for Attending Trump Rally

When Danielle Reiss attended President Trump’s campaign rally in Henderson, Nevada, on Sep. 13, she had no idea it would cost her job.

Reiss is a music publicist partnered with Pop Off, a Boston-based advertising agency that connects publicists like Reiss with artists. She signed a contract in August under which Pop Off would refer artists to her, and she would give the agency a percentage of the money she earned from helping referred artists with publicity. In early September, Pop Off connected her with her first client.

But on Sept. 13, Reiss went to a campaign rally for President Trump. Afterward she posted on social media a photo of herself with a “Make America Great Again” sign and the caption: “I saw our president speak in Anaheim, California in 2016. Yesterday, I watched him speak in Las Vegas, Nevada. God Bless America.”

Four days after the rally, Reiss says she received an email from Pop Off announcing the agency’s plans to terminate their business relationship as soon as their contract ended.

“We saw your latest Instagram post in which you held a ‘Make America Great Again’ poster,” the email said. “From this, we infer that you support the policies and ideologies of Donald Trump’s administration, which blatantly undermine the values we uphold at Pop Off.” (Read more from “Music Publicist Says She Was Fired for Attending Trump Rally” HERE)

Joe’s Office Allegedly Worked With Hunter To Secure Presidential Appointments for Business Partner, Family Members

By Townhall. Hunter Biden’s emails reveal that Hunter Biden allegedly worked with his father to secure presidential appointments in the Obama administration for his business partner and other family members.

The National Pulse reports that Hunter Biden’s emails show Hunter worked with his father’s chief of staff to secure presidential appointments for Eric Schwerin, Hunter’s business partner in a Chinese Communist Party-linked firm. The same Schwerin also frantically emailed Hunter Biden for help taking down a photograph of Joe Biden that ended up on Burisma’s website.

After news broke that Eric Schwerin had been appointed to the President’s Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, Hunter’s cousin asked Hunter if this was “our Eric” and for additional help in securing similar appointments for herself and her mother. Emails Reveal Biden Family Lobbied for ‘Nepotistic’ Presidential Appointments and Received Them

By The National Pulse. After the announcement of Schwerin’s appointment to the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad, Owens emailed with Hunter to enquire if it was the same person. Or as she put it: “our Eric.”

She followed up by asking how she could secure a position for herself or her mother, Valerie Biden Owens, to which Hunter replied:

“I don’t know how much 2016 and nepotism plays into” the selection process.

Hunter Biden then pledged to consult with Joe Biden’s Chief of Staff Steve Richetti about a potential appointment for his family members.

Roughly one year later, Valerie Owens was nominated by the Obama-Biden administration to be an Alternate Representative of the United States to the 71st Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. Questions Swirl About Sen. Mcconnell’s Health After He’s Seen With Badly Bruised Hands, Lip

By New York Daily News. Sen. Mitch McConnell’s health is becoming a topic of concern after the powerful Kentucky Republican was seen on Capitol Hill this week with a badly bruised hand and what appeared to be a fat lip. . .

His right hand looked particularly bad, having turned a blueish-black color. The right side of McConnell’s lip also appeared to sport a bluish bruise. . .

He has maintained a regular schedule this week and spoke on the Senate floor at the outset of Thursday’s session as is customary.

McConnell, who survived polio as a boy, has had some health issues in the past, including breaking his shoulder after falling at his Kentucky home last year. He also had triple bypass heart surgery in 2003. (Read more from “Questions Swirl About Sen. Mcconnell’s Health After He’s Seen With Badly Bruised Hands, Lip” HERE)

Is this what it is?

By Laura Itialono. Dermatologists say the 78-year-old Senate majority leader’s black-and-blue bruises and bandaged hands are likely a common condition called senile purpura.

“Your skin just naturally becomes more fragile as you age,” Dr. Doris Day, a Manhattan-based dermatologist, told The Post.

“I think it’s just a bruise — a solid good bruise,” she said.

Older skin loses its elasticity and its cushioning layer of collagen, doctors say.

That naturally occurring fragility of the skin can also be complicated by prior chronic sun exposure. (Read more about McConnell Mum on his Condition HERE)

Chinese Virologist Whistleblower Says She’ll Spread Message ‘Before They Kill Me’

Chinese virologist who attracted global attention after spreading a conspiracy theory that China was responsible for creating and releasing SARS-CoV-2 has suggested this week she could be killed as a result of her disclosures.

Li-Meng Yan, a former post-doctoral fellow at Hong Kong University, said in an interview with Spanish TV channel Telecinco Thursday that Chinese authorities have spread false rumors in an attempt to ruin her reputation after she refused to remain silent.

“What I am going to do is spread the message as much as possible and show the facts so that people can verify them before they kill me. Everyone has to know the truth and they are not going to scare me,” she told television host Iker Jiménez.

Yan reiterated the claim her initial concerns about the origins of the coronavirus strain that causes COVID-19—which she maintains was made in a lab before intentionally being released by China—were previously silenced by her superiors. Biden Notified of Deposition in Fight Over Social Media Interference

The final count in the 2020 presidential election may not even be done on Nov. 5 when Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is expected to participate in a deposition for a lawsuit along with his campaign manager, Kate Bedingfield.

The lawsuit by former federal prosecutor Larry Klayman, the founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, against Joe Biden, his 2020 campaign, Hunter Biden and others accusing them of interfering with his Freedom Watch YouTube channel.

The case, in the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach, seeks damages of up to $75,000 for YouTube’s suspension of his channel “as a result of undue and illegal political and other pressure and veiled threats from and exerted by defendants, each and every one of them, working together in concert, jointly and severally.” . . .

He said in a weekly Radio America show, “Special Prosecutor with Larry Klayman,” that the Bidens would be brought before a citizens grand jury.

According to the complaint, legal counsel for YouTube “neither directly nor explicitly denied” Klayman’s assertion that the suspension was due to his assertions about the Bidens, “thereby confirming, validating and effectively admitting it.” (Read more from “Biden Notified of Deposition in Fight Over Social Media Interference” HERE)

Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell discussed Epstein accuser on phone

Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell chatted on the phone about the Jeffrey Epstein accuser who accused the royal of sleeping with her as a teen, new court documents suggest.

Email correspondence from Jan. 3, 2015, between the British socialite and Andrew emerged in a deposition made public Thursday.

“Let me know when we can talk,” the queen’s embattled son allegedly emailed Maxwell. “Got some specific questions to ask you about Virginia Roberts.”

The exchange between the two close friends was first revealed last year in a BBC “Panorama” documentary.

It also appeared in the 465-page transcript of Maxwell’s deposition from 2016, taken as part of a since-settled defamation case brought against her by Giuffre — but with Andrew’s named redacted. (Read more from “Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell discussed Epstein accuser on phone” HERE)

Biden Already Working on White House Transition Plans

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden hasn’t yet won his race against incumbent Donald Trump, but he’s already started working on transition plans in case he does.

With a country divided, the former vice president has said on the campaign trail, he would have the task of reuniting America and restoring its health and economic standing amid the brutal COVID-19 pandemic.

If elected, he would face pressure from both sides of the aisle — with Republicans and more moderate Democrats pushing against a more progressive agenda and the far-left pushing for it — and delivering early wins would be crucial.

With Election Day days away, the Biden campaign is focused on maintaining what has been a fairly steady edge in national polling, though one that polls indicate is narrowing as President Trump fights furiously to keep the Oval Office.

Should Biden take the presidency, he would need to be ready to name thousands of appointees to fill out his administration, including 700 key executive branch nominations, according to The Associated Press. (Read more from “Biden Already Working on White House Transition Plans” HERE)
